The deadly shells of the two uber-spinners approach their deadly speeds already, spinning like two F5 tornadoes on acid. Phoenix Down and Baldur Gamma remain motionless, anticipating what is to come. Paul looks a bit worried, and Steve seems to be contemplating the best way to hit MeCannibal€¦but comes to the realization that they can one hit each other one way, and that€™s head-on! :proud: Steve moves his shuffler forwards bit by bit, as Paul keeps his own shuffler stationary. Finally MeCannibal€™s drive system springs to life, and as well, finally, the collision beckons€¦and ultimately ensues!
CRAAAAAAAASH!!!
What. A. Hit. Neither spinner has been sent very far by the said collision, but I daresay they might have broken the sound barrier with that one. Surprisingly, Whirligig has managed to stay grounded, but the same cannot be said for MeCannibal, as it shudders violently before spiralling into a crazy dance across the arena, again! Whirligig, surprisingly, has remained mobile, and still remains a threat! Phoenix Down has had quite enough by the looks of it, and busts a move, that is, a move straight out of his spot! And that€™s when Baldur makes a move as well - straight for MeCannibal! Paul tries to move away, but it seems that the machine€™s mobility has been limited somewhat by the crashing blow from before€¦thus, Baldur plows into the heavy spinner, gets under that skirt and shunts it across the arena€¦before getting bowled into by Phoenix Down! The lifting forks work their way under Baldur€™s side ground clearance and lift it up with relative ease€¦and Whirligig is starting to spin again!
MeCannibal is left behind as Baldur is lifted further and dragged backwards by the lifter of Phoenix Down, as Whirligig spins its way towards the pair€¦and that€™s when Baldur, struggling to get off, finds his wheel slots plundered! Joey comes off successful, and turns to find Whirligig mere inches away! Or he would have€¦IF BALDUR WEREN€™T HOOKED ON!
CRASH!!!
Steven and Alex look on with surprise, as Whirligig smashes into his teammate full force, and the impact flings Whirligig across the arena, as it comes to rest right beside MeCannibal, who is barely moving€¦wait a moment, what€™s this? Whirligig seems to be stuck on MeCannibal€™s skirt! The skirt may be bashed up, torn, and whatnot by the earlier collision, but Whirligig is beached on it and though the shuffling pads are going, there€™s nowhere it can go! MeCannibal is remaining quiet as Baldur and Phoenix Down are having their fight now€¦and Baldur isn€™t winning, as Phoenix Down slips the forks under and lifts it up€¦and they€™re caught behind the scoop! Two of Baldur€™s wheels are touching the ground but it isn€™t enough as Phoenix Down uses its now gigantic traction advantage to easily push the tank-like rammer across the arena, and straight over one of the arena saws! BZZT! No damage, it looks like, but Phoenix Down still has the machine in a rather vice-like grip and shunts it into Matilda€™s CPZ! Matilda inserts her flywheel straight into Baldur€™s rear!
CRASH!!!
Oh dear€¦that might have been 5mm Hardox, but it depended on its supports and they have been broken right off due to the sheer power of that deadly flywheel€¦meaning Baldur no longer has a rear panel! Baldur€™s wheels seem to have ceased all movement as well€¦could something be wrong? As it€™s shunted onto the wall, MeCannibal and Whirligig are shunted aside by The Watcher, and Whirligig€™s pads find sweet, sweet ground again! MeCannibal scuttles away slowly, but Whirligig tackles it and starts to push Paul€™s shuffler towards Obelix€™s CPZ! Obelix is quick to respond to this offering, and WHAM!!! I think we€™ve just seen the life force drain out of MeCannibal as the shufflers it has have been smashed and bent up by that deadly hammer!
Phoenix Down hasn€™t bothered to check up on his teammate, as he has stacked Baldur up against the wall€¦and Baldur€™s scoop activates, which pushes him off the wall. Ahh€¦Baldur€™s drive has malfunctioned. Whether it was the blow of Matilda that killed the motors, or the stacking, it doesn€™t matter, as the scoop is working€¦but the wheels are NOT. And that€™s what important, as The Watcher comes back over, and starts counting out Alex€™s persevering tankbot.

As Phoenix Down turns to rescue his partner, Obelix has laid down another echoing blow on MeCannibal, this time completely on the top armour and it€™s badly dented! Matilda goes for the immobilized Baldur as Phoenix Down rams straight into Whirligig and lifts it up. Steve panicks and tries to get the shell working€¦and it is! The shell of Whirligig is slightly moving, but Phoenix Down carries it to the wall and stacks it€¦ah€¦can Whirligig get off the wall? Ah€¦I don€™t think so€¦Phoenix Down lets Whirligig be for a time and attacks Obelix, who is able to thunder down another shuddering blow on the now terrorised top panel of MeCannibal before being lifted up by the lifting forks of Obelix€¦but can Phoenix Down tip over the 225kg house robot! Matilda buries the flywheel into Baldur again.
CRASH!!!
Baldur goes flying and lands away from Matilda - OH! Baldur€™s moving again! I think that just kicked Baldur€™s drive back in! Joey foresees Alex€™s plan and gets out from Obelix. Baldur rushes across the arena to tackle Whirligig off the wall€¦but Phoenix Down is just that much faster at this point, and rams him from the side, easily slipping under it and lifting Baldur - ha! Baldur slips off the forks, slides onto his side and into the wall beside Whirligig! Matilda and Obelix now have the arena to themselves and€¦The Watcher is counting Whirligig out! There€™s nothing Baldur can do as Phoenix Down is in its face again, sliding under the side and pinning it while the ref gets the red card ready€¦

And that€™s it! Phoenix Down has won it for Team Chevron Insanity, and celebrates by lifting Baldur€¦only to have the tank tumble onto and off the back of Joey€™s rammer and settle, seemingly and for sure dead, behind it. Whirligig is trapped on the wall, and MeCannibal is already a goner€¦and Matilda opens the pit. Down it goes, and down Baldur goes, as Phoenix Down shunts it into the pit. Obelix shunts MeCanniba down a few seconds later€¦and hah! Phoenix Down lifts Whirligig€¦right out of the arena. :proud:

SGO flies out immediately without a sign from his partner ISDSFA, and Axe-O-Lotl is quick to get in his way, not too keen on SGO getting at his partner€™s tracks. And it looks like SGO is the winner of this ramming contest, as it€™s gotten under Axe-O-Lotl - WHOA! That was a good axe blow from Axe-O-Lotl and it€™s pierced the 20mm Lexan/LexiGuard armourment of SGO, however not completely. SGO fires it€™s own axe, and the results aren€™t as great, as it€™s barely dented Axe-O-Lotl€™s armour. However, it has wedged Axe-O-Lotl and is pushing it€¦towards SHA2! SHA2, move out of the way! ISDSFA is moving, not out of anybody€™s way, but in somebody else€™s way, and that€™s SHA2€™s!
Axe-O-Lotl tries to get off of the wedge but nothing doing, and both axes fire again€¦and it seems that Axe-O-Lotl has pierced right through the armour this time, other than getting dented himself by SGO€™s axe! Ah€¦this does not look good for Chris, as the axe is stuck in the armour and isn€™t dislodging anytime soon! SGO shoves the axebot into the pit release button€¦opening the pit€¦and simply dumps Chris€™ axebot into the pit! Already, we are down one robot, but Daniel Stickler isn€™t content with just ridding the arena of one of his opponents, and goes back to destroy the other, whom he seemed to want to kill€¦
SHA2 isn€™t having such a good time with Frankie, as ISDSFA is moving towards it, but SHA2 wants to avoid the scoop and dodges this way and that to get away from it€¦and hardly notices the freight train speeding in that is SGO, and the 11kg aluminium-headed axe smacks down harshly€¦missing the tracks. :proud: It does give Dan the perfect opportunity to shove SHA2 against the arena wall, but SHA2 is moving as well€¦right into the waiting scoop of ISDSFA!
CRASH!!!
The scoop largely deflects the blow of the drum but it does throw ISDSFA back quite a bit; however, it€™s allowed SGO to finally pin his drumming foe against the arena wall, and€¦smack the axe shaft onto SHA2€™s tracks. :proud: Not really doing anything, but SGO is scoring points with the judges, and that€™s quite good news. ISDSFA is back in and smashes into the drum of SHA2 who desperately tries to get it going again but Frank has denied that attempt and liftedSHA2 into the air€¦and it€™s STILL pinned in there by SGO! Another axeing by SGO, but again the axe shaft is in the way and it pounds against the tracks of SHA2 which is rather nil. Now The Watcher comes in to separate them, and SGO is shoved aside€¦allowing ISDSFA to shove SHA2 backwards, and into an empty CPZ! However, the tracked machine falls off of the scoop of ISDSFA and squeezes from the wall and is ready for action again! GO is quick to fly in and pounce, but SHA2 has the drum back up to speed already and turns to face the incoming axebot.
CRASH!!!
Now that was a hit! The drum smacked against the front of SGO and sent it airborne! Of course, it also distracted Martijn from danger approaching at his side, and that danger is none other than ISDSFA, who shunts in from the side and lifts SHA2 into the air, the hidden disc unleashed and ready to chew into the tracks! And chew it does! Rubber flies! The tracks themselves look okay, but there may be some traction issues later on, and - BZZT! OHOHO! That was splendid. SHA2, balanced on one side and perched against ISDSFA€™s scoop, was hit by the arena saws and got sent hurtling across the arena€¦AND ALMOST INTO THE PIT! OOH€¦SGO, having righted itself, hurries in, and - whoa€¦don€™t go into the pit yourself€¦SHA2 is away again, and looking to do some more damage, when ISDSFA crashes in from the rear and pushes it€¦but the rear wedges of SHA2, an improvement of the last version€™s rear bars, take their stand and slide under ISDSFA€™s own scoop! And there€™s that hidden disc again! €¦and now SHA2 shows its own strength, pushing ISDSFA back into the CPZ of Sgt. Bash, who gives Frank€™s robot a lick of flame and a pinch at the rear€¦SGO barrels in at the front, box-rushing the terrorsome drum!
CRASH!!!
That€™s another good hit, but in favour of Daniel€™s team! SHA2 is sent tilting skyward, and right onto ISDSFA€™s scoop, who amscrays from Sgt. Bash€™s CPZ pronto€¦and guess what? Line-up with the pit, anyone - OH NO! ISDSFA is hit by the arena saws, but wait, he€™s still got the momentum going! SHA2 turns€¦and escapes€¦into SGO€™s wedge! SGO brings down the axe! WHACK! It€™s hit the drum! SGO, with a firm grip to say the least, pushes SHA2 by the drum€¦the axe is released, but there€™s nowhere to go now! SHA2 tries so hard, but it can€™t drive the drum further onto the wedge and drive over SGO€¦and finally, Daniel reaches the pit, and dumps his foe in.
CEASE!
Axe-O-Lotl squashed, and a titanic struggle sees his teammate Sheer Heart Attack 2 down the pit at last with a coronary to tell the tale.

HEAT C - SO FAR€¦
Round 1
Axe-O-Lotl and Sheer Heart Attack 2 stacked Dr. Acula on the wall and dropped the LockJaw down the pit.
Supreme Glory Omega and ISDSFA gave Turbulence and Hatchback quite the tremor to remember, destroying both of them.
Baldur Gamma and Whirligig 4.5 smashed their way through both axes of evil, namely the Axes of Evil itself€¦and Terrorhurtz. :proud:
MeCannibal 2.0 and Phoenix Down survived a lucky shot when Sir Killalot put Infusion OOTA unfairly, and Exertion ultimately exerted itself too far and died out.
Round 2
MeCannibal 2.0 and Phoenix Down survived when the two spinners collided, and then Baldur Gamma and Whirligig 4.5 were smashed and stacked respectively.
Supreme Glory Omega and ISDSFA gave the hammer to Axe-O-Lotl and after a long struggle pitted its partner, Sheer Heart Attack 2.

WOOOT! I think this going to be the time we lose, but we can try.
MeCannibal 2.0 and Phoenix Down vs. Supreme Glory Omega and ISDSFA: Because of the mad dance thing, MeCannibal is from now-on toned down to 2500rpm instead of 3500. This should stop the dancing and improve stability.
I think that Phoenix Down should go for the standard choice, and firstly hold onto SGOs side, as from then-on I can tear it up, as the Lexiguard might not hold up to much stick from the weapons, then take out the internals. Ive got some scores to settle with SGO, and I intend to make it bloody :angry: Phoenix Down should be better suited to fighting ISDSFA than me, but Id like to attack ISDSFA seldom, as the armour may not be held on too well, so it may come off. Overall, Im not too sure, but I know that SGO is the biggest danger so go for him first.

I didnt see in the stats of MeCannibal 2.0 that you could set its RPM value...nonetheless, I shall accept this, but include how it does this in the stats from now on please.
Incidentally, it didnt run at 3500rpm, but at 3000, and moving the RPM from 3000 to 2500 decreases the kJ value from 195kJ to 136kJ

Ill concentrate on Meccanibal, using the scoop to deflect the spinner and get it stalled so we can have some fun with it:proud:
I wont be concentrating on any specific one of the two, but since I dont really think holding things for MECannibal to damage is viable, seeing as how it tends not to last too long, I will concentrate on crushing both robots - mmm Lexan on SGO - and pushing them into the house robots and/or the pit. If Im in a position to do holding, I will, but drop and run if the other opponent shows an interest in me.

The third heat final, and it€™s heated up already as Phoenix Down and SGO smash against each other€™s front wedges. Ironically, the axe coming down on Phoenix Down€™s armour helps Joey€™s robot get right underneath the ground clearance of SGO as it jumps about, and the crusher starts to sink in! Down comes the axe again and again, but only paint scratches are made - ooh wait, there€™s one small dent, but that€™s nothing compared to the damage Phoenix Down is inflicting on SGO€™s front wedge, the claw sinks further into the armour! Ooh€¦it€™s bending€¦look at that€¦and now Phoenix Down has an ultimate grip on its prey and moves towards€¦the pit release button!
Frank won€™t have that, and ISDSFA sprints off to have a word about this, only for the nearly fully-up spun up MeCannibal to intercept. Paul has the spinner locked down at a slightly lower speed to improve the stability, ISDSFA however evades the shuffler and slams into the back of Phoenix Down as Joey meets the button with a rather sickeneing crunch, lifting it up and€¦not really doing much. SGO has smashed the axe onto Phoenix Down€™s top armour many times now, and now we can see some rather nice dents on it. ISDSFA drags Phoenix Down backwards, as the claw seems to be stuck in SGO€™s armour, and The Watcher sees his time to barge in to break up the fight and does so. WHAM. However the claw is stuck in there pretty good and nothing can be done. ISDSFA backs up for another ram, but instead€¦decides to attack MeCannibal!
CRASH!!!
Frank€™s pride in his robot€™s weaponry blooms, as although ISDSFA has been knocked for quite the loop, the scoop has stayed on, although it€™s been dented in the middle. Things don€™t look that good for Paul though, as MeCannibal is shuddering again and jerking violently. It€™s still spinning€¦and Paul gets the message and starts slowing the shell down€¦and ISDSFA barrels into it, pushing the shuffler towards the wall and lifting it up against the wall! But what Frank forgot to note is that Phoenix Down has successfully managed to keep hold of SGO, and while ISDSFA was kept busy by MeCannibal, SGO was dangled over the pit€¦and was dumped in! The claw loosens, and SGO is sent to his doom!
ISDSFA therefore blazes towards Phoenix Down in a torrent of rage, the scoop moving in like a great wall of adamant to crush him, but Phoenix Down moves away from the charge, just barely, and turns to get the claw at the sides of ISDSFA€¦only to find ISDSFA has turned along with him! ISDSFA moves forward, and slips under the wedge of Phoenix Down, lifting it up and slamming it hard against the arena wall! Phoenix Down bounces away but is lifted again by ISDSFA, who keeps him there, and in comes the disc! The tracks are hit! Ah€¦oh dear. Phoenix Down just lost one of the tracks.
There€™s MeCannibal, off the wall, and starting to get back up to speed€¦ISDSFA moves away from Phoenix Down, who turns the only way he can drive, apparently, and quickly makes it to ISDSFA€™s own side before Frank can move his machine! The wedge defeats the skirt! ISDSFA€™s wheels turn, and drag Phoenix Down along as the claw sinks in! Sinks in? More like grapples hold, as it€™s not getting through that 5mm Hardox near the wheels. Phoenix Down uses the remaining track to try and steer ISDSFA towards the pit or an arena hazard or something€¦and that something does appear, in the form of MeCannibal, and Paul attacks!
CRASH!!!
It€™s the other side of ISDSFA that suffers the damage, and damage it is, a great big dent is seen in the armour, and Frank grits his teeth in frustration that he can€™t finish off either of the robots. MeCannibal, surprisingly, has stayed quite stable during the last hit, and now approaches again, spinning back up to speed. Phoenix Down€¦isn€™t letting up, trying to get ISDSFA around - BZZT! Oh! The arena saws strike Phoenix Down as he goes over them himself! No damage so far€¦and MeCannibal moves in to strike a third time! ISDSFA moves away to avoid it€¦and Phoenix Down is about to be - ooh€¦Paul moves back quickly, tries to position his machine to catch ISDSFA but the drive of ISDSFA€™s left side is quite tricky. Phoenix Down reverses, and drags ISDSFA - BZZT! - over the arena saws! Ah€¦no. No damage either.
Paul however is determined to cause more damage and chases ISDSFA around, Phoenix Down hanging on and trying to push the seemingly ever-so-persistant ISDSFA into his teammate€™s weapon. It€™s a battle of pushing power now€¦who can push the other away€¦and it€™s Phoenix Down! ISDSFA is forced back€¦and Phoenix Down retracts the claw, wedging ISDSFA further! Phoenix Down brings the claw back in, and ISDSFA lifts up the scoop. MeCannibal moves in.
CRASH!!!
OUCH! That must have hurt€¦ISDSFA€™s scoop took the full force of that attack; MeCannibal is sent flying back this time€¦and straight into an empty CPZ! ISDSFA is bounced off of Phoenix Down, however, and is moving again! Paul realizes his mistake too late, as ISDSFA travels right into that CPZ, smacks into MeCannibal€¦and stops. A stunned expression appears on Frank€™s face and he fiddles with the controls€¦but I think that ISDSFA just got shocked KO€™d. The Watcher is coming over for a look€¦they ARE in the CPZ, and the house robots move in€¦and MeCannibal has stopped as well. However, Phoenix Down, however mobility-strapped he is, is still moving, despite it only moving in a circle. The Watcher therefore counts the other two out as Shunt fires the axe into MeCannibal€™s gut.

And Joey wins it again for his team, as Shunt pushes MeCannibal onto top of SGO, and ISDSFA is axed, and shoved in mere seconds later. Frank shrugs and lets down the controls while Daniel shakes his head. I think the bemused face of Joey pretty much mirrors my own expression at this turn of events, I daresay.

Supreme Glory Omega goes out in a blaze of unglory, as his partner ISDSFA fails to fight off the following team-up.

Right then...
Other people may have differing views on this, but in an environment of Hardox armour and fast machines Pussycat is somewhere to the left of useless, seeing as how it cant really push. It is difficult to get a hold of though, so I shall leave that for WORCK to flip out, and go for Robochicken instead. Avoid the front, avoid the rear, get around the sides, lift, crush, crush again, crush again, and pit.
!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!! Well done Joey to winning us the day in Rounds 2 and 3, and well done to the opposition for putting up a valiant, strong, tough fight...and losing as well :wink:

A really tough draw for two excellent teams, I think Monsoons tyres will be a target for Killotine, and I fail to see what the 6isc can do to Tengu, so I think Steve and Alex will go through.

Well... Turbo Shredder could well go, but so could Rupture... but if Cat and Infusion are left in together Danny is toast, so Aaron and AJ through

oof... Another hard one, but I think Flicks 7mm titanium will let it down against Spiny and Secret, so Chris and Martijn may bow out here.

OBLITERATIONS TACTICS
Once I spin up, I should be pretty much fine. Ill let Flicky go first, and spin up in the corner.
Ill take the 6isc and Steve will handle Manic Monsoon, stikcing to its sides and using his axe to go after the the wheels.
Ill smash into it til it dies - because Im an fbs I should in theory always hit him first because his weapon doesnt extend from the body.
Depends on how big Tengu is. If it fits between the wheel pods, wed hit each other at about the same time... In that case Id probably come off better seeing as Tengus teeth are attached and is MUCH more likely to drop one. But my proposed tactics are for Monsoon to handle Tengu and for The 6isc to take on Killotine:proud:

A message to all: Chezza has unexpectedly and quite suddenly decided to retire...he posted a message on the ZED boards saying about the reasons why. This is a really upsetting situation for those who were expecting more from our now ex-vapourboteer. Well all miss you, Chez. :sad: :sad: :sad:

Due to extreme lack of motivation to write this tournament (due to a strain of having to write battles with 4 bots in them all the time which I had not foreseen, and a lack of interest from some other users :P), this tournament is being largely shunted.
This is NOT a hypothetical. A hypothetical is just some results displayed in front of you. This is a summarization of the rest of the heats of Dual Duels, which will be a bit more descriptive. The Finals WILL be written.

Round 1
Manic Monsoon & The 6isc vs. Tengu VII & Killotine: EVO
The fight starts off well for Steve and Alex as Tengu VII immediately causes large damage to The 6isc€™s wheelhubs. Unfortunately for Tengu it was then flipped while the blade were stopped, and as it tried to self-right, the srimech got ripped off. Killotine had rammed around Manic Monsoon, and eventually did the ol€™ clamp and pit whilst avoiding The 6isc€™s blade. Then the battle went to the judges and Killotine: EVO won it 41-34 for Team Vengeance For All
Cat With Wheels & Turbo Shredder vs. Infusion Delta & Rupture
No contest, very short. Infusion Delta immediately drove into Turbo Shredder, hit the pit release button, and then dumped it down. Cat With Wheels flipped over Rupture but then Infusion Delta wedged it and shoved it into Damocles€™ CPZ, who launched it over the fence with a drum hit.
Obliteration & Flick of the Wrist vs. Secret & Spiny
This was close. Flick of the Wrist got its spikes ripped right off by Spiny€™s immense blade but managed to pit it after avoiding a hammer blow from Obelix Bulguous. Secret struggled a bit with Obliteration but after suffering a side panel getting knocked off, smashed the disc into Obliteration which knocked a motor out of place and immobilized Chris. Flick was unable to take out Secret without the spikes and Chezza tore apart the side panels of Martijn€™s rammer, leaving Team JimBob to go through.
W.O.R.C.K. & Nidhogg vs. Pussycat & Robochicken
Also very short. WORCK immediately rammed into Robochicken, carried it to the wall, and flicked it out. Nidhogg went for Pussycat and clamped down on it. WORCK opened the pit and Nidhogg dropped him down.
Round 2
Secret & Spiny vs. W.O.R.C.K. & Nidhogg
WORCK€™s tough armour didn€™t help it much against Spiny€™s vertical disc, and when it was flipped over Secret shoved WORCK under the Disc of Death grinder, wedging it and disabling its ability to self-right. Nidhogg attempted to pry WORCK out but Secret slammed in with its disc and sent it away. WORCK was counted out and it went to a judges decision later, giving it to Team Jimbob in a rather one-sided 64-11 decision.
Infusion Delta & Rupture vs. Tengu VII & Killotine: EVO
Team SpunOut were up against it here. Rupture box-rushed Tengu but that didn€™t seem to help and it was sub-sequently destroyed, but Infusion had Killotine on the ropes. Tengu rammed Killotine out of the way however when Infusion tried to pit Steve€™s axebot, and Tengu managed to give the spinning rim a rather nasty dent at the end, but they won over Aaron anyway in a 53-22 judges€™ decision.
Round 3
Secret & Spiny vs. Tengu VI & Killotine: EVO
Tengu€™s spinning ring shone brightly during this match, and it ripped Secret apart completely, before turning on Spiny. Spiny flipped Killotine over with its own disc a few times, but it was axed and brought to Tengu, who dismembered it in a rather gruesome showing. Oh, and Tengu managed to knock Asterix Heroicus down the pit as well. :proud:

Nitro-Gene 4.0 & The Quaestor vs. Black Panther & E Clawdius Unum
A close battle. Black Panther and Nitro-Gene were flipping each other all around the arena, occasionally accompanied by Black Panther€™s axe, and The Quaestor battled Clawdius. Clawdius managed to give The Quaestor some good damage, but Black Panther started to smoke around the end and wasn€™t moving quite well around the arena. The Quaestor axed it and that was the end. Judges gave a close 39-36 for Nitro-Gene and Quaestor.
Infusion Torsen & PsycloniZer vs. Dennis the Menace & Tempest Evil-est-oution
Very short, again. PsycloniZer and Tempest died upon impacting with each other and Infusion took over from there, wedging Dennis the Menace, and rather taking him to Ancalagon€™s CPZ, a wise move as Ancalagon knocked the panels off of Dennis, and then Infusion pitted Dennis.
Razer & Dandy vs. Wild Thing & Black Death
Dandy€™s axe proved to be useful as it punched through the (rather generic, seeing as there weren€™t any armour stats when Black Death entered) armour of Black Death, killing it, and Razer took out Wild Thing soon after, clampng it and bringing it to the pit. Razer then had a go at Taki-san but the house robot outmanoeuvred and pitted him.
Leprosy Infection & Axe to Fall vs. Sewer Snake & Gulp
Sewer Snake never had a chance. Its exposed yet previously unhittable tires were drummed and axed into oblivion, leaving it sliding along the floor. Then Martijn and Chris struggled to take out Gulp, finally immobilizing it with 48 seconds left on the clock. Axe to Fall then clamped it and tried to drag it to the pt but then broke down itself, nonetheless Team Various Dinowarriors advanced.
Round 2
Razer & Dandy vs. Infusion Torsen & PsycloniZer
Infusion initially attacked Dandy but Razer caught up with it and clamped it firmly, pitting the fifth Infusion early on, and then Dandy axed PsycloniZer after getting the stuffing pounded out of it and tried to drag Psy down the pit but couldn€™t. Razer had about as much success with this as he did Tornado. Soon after Dandy broke down, but Razer pushed Psy into a CPZ where he got stuck by Exa-Gore-Ic Evo. Judges gave it to Team JimBob 41-34.
Nitro-Gene 4.0 & The Quaestor vs. Leprosy Infection & Axe to Fall
It clearly was battle of the axes as Nitro-Gene and Leprosy Infection both got axed to death, their tires were chewed up and hacked. Then the axes turned on each other, but Axe to Fall had the clear advantage in leverage and got under Quaestor several times, and after several trips to the Disc of Death, Quaestor stopped moving.
Round 3
Leprosy Infection & Axe to Fall vs. Razer & Dandy
Leprosy Infection had a far easier time with Razer, sticking to its sides and flipping it over repeatedly until, once again, Razer broke down, venting smoke. Axe to Fall was also once again the king of the axes, and after a little €˜Tango€™, managed to grapple Dandy, but Dandy€™s wheels were touching the ground so Axe to Fall couldn€™t really do anything. Leprosy then slammed into Dandy turning it over, and it was pitted.

Death Threat 0.2 & Death Wish vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III
Mega Masher easily disposed of Death Wish down the pit early on, flipping it over repeatedly before Death Wish ground to a halt, and then the duo ganged up on Death Threat. The finishing move was a lift by Back to Rock, and one of the tracks came off, completely immobilizing Death Threat as the remaining track seemed to be stuck.
The Woodpecker & Acronyms FTW vs. Tri-Tainium & Gabriel II
Tri-Tainium ripped off Acronyms€™ mechanism during the first minute of the match but Acronyms fought back without a weapon, and pushed Tri-Tainium back. Gabriel really had no problem with The Woodpecker, tossing it a few times before delivering it to the pit. It then helped Tri-Tainium get rid of Acronyms down the pit.
Darkestar & Turbo Tails vs. Infusion Faux & SoR X
Decimation. That€™s one way to describe the fight. Turbo Tails turned turtle almost before the match began, and then Infusion and SoR totally ripped apart Darkestar, first the tracks, then the disc, then pretty much everything, leaving a scrap heap of parts there. Then they did the same to the inverted Turbo Tails. Utterly dominated.
Hexadecimator & Crushy vs. Kronic & Alpha-Rex
Another short fight. Kronic showed Hexy who was the better flipper of the realies, and tossed it immediately over the wall. Alpha-Rex and Kronic then tossed Crushy all over the shop, finally giving it its flight over the fence and out of the tournament.
Round 2
Infusion Faux & SoR X vs. Tri-Tainium & Gabriel II
Another destructive battle. Tri-Tainium met SoR X€™s flywheel head on and both weapons stopped, allowing Infusion to move in and totally destroy Tri-Tainium. SoR X then surprisingly outmanoeuvred Gabriel and gave it right back to an incoming Infusion, who rocketed it into the pit.
Kronic & Alpha-Rex vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III
A drawn-out battle. Mega Masher couldn€™t get its weaponry into play against either competitor, and was flipped around, but Team Operation Devastation couldn€™t get it out of there. Back to Rock did do some lifting and sawing but there was no visible damage, and so the closest judges decision thus far took place. They examined all the robots for slightest signs of damage, and then awarded it to Team Various Dinowarriors: 38-37. The key: the underside damage caused by Back to Rock€™s sawblade.
Round 3
Infusion Faux & SoR X vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III
This turned into a house robot attack immediately. SoR flipped over Shunt at once, got him out of the arena, and then everybody ganged up on poor Ancalagon the Black. Eventually, they got him over, but during that struggle Infusion took some heavy hits from those giant discs and broke down soon after, and SoR was bashed by the disc of Mega Masher, and lifted up by Back to Rock. It looked like it would escape, but Mega Masher came in with the wedge and pushed it back and down.

Infusion Beta & Wedga€™s Revenge vs. Dervish V & Dead Horse Beater
Wedga suffered a great amounts of hits from Dervish and although managing to get it near the arena could not finish it off, and got the underside kicked out, immobilizing it. Infusion and Dead Horse Beater were getting in the heat of things, when Infusion rammed Dead Horse Beater into the wall. Dervish attacked Infusion and stopped the ring. This allowed DHB to get around to Infusion€™s side, grapple it, and pit it.
Storm II & 13 Black vs. Salamander III & All Scoop & No Stab Make Steve A Dull Boy
13 Black was flipped immediately, and though Storm II righted it, it kept getting flipped over and over by All Scoop. Storm II later on was then inverted and got a side skirt ripped off by Salamander. It showed quite a lot of aggression, but the judges gave the 47-28 decision to Team Vengeance for All.
Drumroll SR & Hatchet vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus & Liar 2
It was the match Chris and Martijn were hoping for. Only 17 seconds into the match, and Drumroll and Hatchet were flicked OOTA. They then attacked the house robots, and Die-Ceratops took a rather nasty hit on the wheel by Double Big Mac, but they turned him and Matilda turtle before long.
Lethal Injection & Paralyzation vs. Dantomkia & Pushy
Dantomkia looked impressive, and moreso did Pushy, but Paralyzation got in a lucky blow on Pushy€™s front wedge, lifting it up and wedging it on the drum, and then pitted it. Dantomkia pushed Lethal Injection all around the arena yet couldn€™t flip it properly, and Paralyzation attacked it from the rear. From then on Dantomkia was harried by both spinning weapons and Team After-Life went forward with a 56-19 decision.

Lethal Injection & Paralyzation vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus & Liar 2
Liar 2 didn€™t stand a chance. One hit from Lethal Injection€™s disc sent the right side one flying across the arena, and Liar was left for dead. Paralyzation kept smacking Die-Ceratops over, however Die-Ceratops managed to toss Paralyzation across the arena and strand it on the wall. Lethal Injection freed it and they harrassed Die-Ceratops until the end of the match, like last time. Again, they were successful with the 50-25 decision.
Dervish V & Dead Horse Beater vs. Salamander III & All Scoop & No Stab Make Steve A Dull Boy
A very fun battle, each side got in a lots of hits with their weaponry. Salamander III however copped it first, the wheels the main factor, and then Dervish, despite making numerous dents and gashes on the side of All Scoop, was clamped, lifted, and pitted. However the damage that Dervish inflicted proved to be the deciding factor, and the third judges decision in a row was given to Dead Horse Beater, 40-35.

Lethal Injection & Paralyzation vs. Dervish V & Dead Horse Beater
Lethal Injection never really got going, as it got a taste of its medicine courtesy of Dervish€™s drum, and it was dewheeled instantly. Paralyzation got in a great number of hits on Dead Horse Beater but it couldn€™t fight off its opponents fast enough and was axed and pitted, receiving some smacks by Dervish in the process.

Spring-BOK & Diotoir vs. Big Nipper & Marwolaeth
Spring-BOK couldn€™t compete with the disc that was Marwolaeth and was ripped apart within several hits. Diotoir surprised the audience however as he pushed Big Nipper around, but when Big Nipper finally got the lift and flip, the weapon reliability once again did Diotoir in as it couldn€™t self-right. Team Various Dinowarriors were then pitted.
ArchAngel of the Abyss & The Botles Reunited vs. Infusion Forza & Axeon 3.0
ArchAngel just couldn€™t spin up fast enough as Infusion rammed into it and brought it into Mr. Psycho€™s CPZ, who picked it up and crushed the srimech€¦dropping it upside-down. The Botles flew around the arena like scarab beetles but Axeon and Infusion took them out one at a time. Ringo tried to right ArchAngel with his drum but was unable to and was shoved in the pit last of all by Axeon.
Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You vs. Typhoon 2 & Flippy
Typhoon 2 put up a good fight but it wasn€™t enough and they were flipped over by May Tracks. Squishiest prevented Flippy from righting it and sank into the side of Flippy, grabbing and dragging it off to the pit. May Tracks then tried to flip Typhoon 2 OOTA but failed and that righted the swirling cone. The match came to a close with both competitors trying to catch Typhoon 2 for a few minutes but neither sustained much damage and Team Dunno went through by a 49-26 decision, crushing any chances of Chezza and Dave reaching the Finals.
D.V.D. The Sequel & 147 vs. Crimson Thunder & Walk Don€™t Run
DVD was rammed all around the shop by Crimson Thunder, and eventually Walk Don€™t Run smashed into DVD, knocking it straight into an empty CPZ which Obelix took and hammered the living crap out of DVD. 147 then tossed over Crimson Thunder but then repeated hits from Walk Don€™t Run and 147 gave in, and Crimson Thunder (weakly) shoved it down the pit.
Round 2
Crimson Thunder & Walk Don€™t Run vs. Big Nipper & Marwolaeth
Big Nipper seemed to be on top, lifting Crimson Thunder into the air and bringing it towards the pit, but a sudden driving error later and Big Nipper drove itself into the pit! Crimson Thunder however was taken with him and the final two were left to fight. The power of Walk Don€™t Run€™s spinning ring proved the deciding factor and Samuel won the 39-36 decision for his team.
Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You vs. Infusion Forza & Axeon 3.0
Squishiest was superb during this battle, immediately grappling hold of Axeon and hanging on for dear life while May Tracks pressed the pit release button, Infusion then tried to get both down the pit but Squishiest let go of Axeon (who fell into the pit :P) at the right time, turned around and got straight to Infusion€™s side, pushing it and clamping down as well. May Tracks then took out Sgt. Bash while Squishiest delivered Infusion on top of his teammate, and then CEASE was called as they tried to get Taki-san OOTA.

Crimson Thunder & Walk Don€™t Run vs. Squishiest & The May Tracks Has You
The last chance for Danny and Samuel, but it went down ill. Squishiest immediately clamped down on Crimson Thunder€™s wheel, and though Danny hoped for a repeat of the Big Nipper incident, it did not come, Daniel delivering Danny into the pit. Harrying attacks from Squishiest and May Tracks then did Walk Don€™t Run in, and Samuel€™s spinner was put down the pit as well.

Firefly & System Shock vs. The May Tracks Has You & Squishiest
A really tough one, I think it could go either way. Squishiest has high ground clearance an is slow self-righting, so I think Jamie maybe should go after Daniel and try to lift him over then pit him. However, May Tracks is very tough, so at the start of the bout Ill go straight for the pit and try to push him in while avoiding his front end.

MeCannibal 2.0 & Phoenix Down vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III
I say Mega Masher wedge rushes MeCannibal with its awesomely awesome Hardox. MeCannibal is an extreme spinner and as such should a) have a slow spinup time and b) damage itself quite abit when confronted with Hardox. A few good wedge rushes might eliminate this robot completely. I have to wait for the setup of Phoenix Down, but lifting it and driving it into either MeCannibals weapon (if it manages to spin up) or Mega Mashers weapon, OR the pit sounds cool to me.

Infusion Alpha & GeForce 4.0 vs. Tengu VII & Killotine: EVO: This is an incredibly bad round for AJ and Aaron, as Infusion is going to do REALLY bad against Tengus anti-spinner ring. And GeForce and Killotine, although its evenly split, Killotine stands for chance of winning between those two. Ill go for Steve and Alex to hack and smash their way through.
MeCannibal 2.0 & Phoenix Down vs. Mega Masher 2 & Back to Rock III: This quite a good match as far as things go. Back To Rock was defeated in Chevron Championship by MacDuff The 3rd, a tracked robot with 104hp. Phoenix Down as tracks, and 104hp. See where Im going Joey :proud: Mega Masher will be quite easy to handle, as its quite large, and theres a lot to hit, and although I wont get through that 3.25mm Hardox like butter, Ill cause some scars and dents, so we might be OK.

The other battle is Leprosy and Dervish, and while Dervish may have the more powerful drum, its wheels are exposed and Leprosy Infections arent. Martijn and Chris to win.

you made a WONDERFULL post earlier Paul, I believe it was in the How to Improve topic, where you said you USED to concentrate on numbers and facts too much, instead of what can actually happen in a battle. Dont make that same mistake again sir :wink:

Uh... Yeah. Assuming we fight like you said:lame: Nevermind the fact that Id prefer to attack Leprosy, as his invertible nature means I can aim for his wheels. Besides, Dervish should be able to destroy axe to Fall pretty quickly...

Heh, it might make my weapon a little less effective, but it doesnt stop the wedge from ramming tengus ass all over the arena. The bosch drives are slop compared to the magmotor + ke boost of Infusion. Tengus weapon only spins at ~500rpm, which is never gonna produce enough energy to damage the hardox clad Infusion.
