Friends, roboteers, fellow members of the MLDF.
Im in need of your help.
My team mate John has had a bit of a serious family crisis and is unable to attend. The problem is that he has our tent, stove, BBQ etc, etc.
If there are any members of the MLDF who have a spare space in their tent on Saturday night for a well behaved, house-trained roboteer it would be very much appreciated! (The other option is for me to sleep in the car!) Im quite prepaired to provide food / beer in lieu of rent!
I have my own sleeping bag, matress, Super Soaker etc, so all I need is a roof over my head.
Many thanks,
Geoff.

Well day ones gone fine except for the weather which has been a disappointment with Rain and Sunny spells its not a good combination as after the rain because of the surrounding fields you get a great smell of the countryside in the Robot Hall but its not a complaint, it cannot be helped lol.
Also everything seems to be safe and sound just the usual smoking electronics.
As for us we only managed one battle today with Conundrum which was the first featherweight battle off the day where we sustained very little damage but the drum did fall off of the bot and we have completely not traction but after working on it today that was quickly fixed in half an hour or so then we missed the other battles because we went for a trip to Newark town centre.
Overall its been good meeting people, the crowd seems reasonable and Kevin and Co. (Sorry forgot the womans name) are doing a great job on the mics.

Thanks for the fine organisation, Kevin, Jonno and all. Everything went smoothly as far as I could see.
I picked up my new full pressure ram (Thanks Mario). I hope that I will have a replacement robot working for Newark next year!
If you saw a second-hand item for sale yesterday on my table that you need, email me at home.

Stu ..Your head deserves to hurt. I bet Mikes chest hurts too..the way you flattened him in the bar.
Footie was good on Saturday night.. the stars being WJ flying down the wing and Alan and Trig sharing goalkeeping duties on our side. I think we won about 10:6 or something.
Oh, and the robot fights werent bad either. Cutlet got trashed on day one..thanks to 8,000rpm...yes 8,000rpm disk from Pimpanaught. I need some Titanium badly. Any for sales? (1.2mm ish).
Congratulations to Ploughbot on winning the feathers and Big Nipper for winning the heavy comp.
All we need for next year is decent weather. The sun came out at 4pm as we started to pack up....Typical!
Thanks to all our Dutch, Belgian, and German friends for coming over to both the Liverpool and Newark events. Its been really nice getting to know you all. See you in again in August at Nottingham.

David,

And 50....yeah right! This 38 year old is in peak condition. ask Jonnos Mum what she thinks of my legs!

Roaming Robots / Robot Rampage, Newark 19th / 20th June 2004
That was good, all the way through. Great fights (its different when youre only 2m away from the arena) and other stuff too. Shame I didnt get to see Tornados tesla coil, that wouldve been good. (if it went ahead)
Anyway, thanks to all involved, particularly Kev for letting me stay afterwards and to Joe for letting me drive Pimpanaught 1 into the pit twice (wasnt it only supposed to open if someone pushed the pit tyre? Good fun anyway). Ill definitely be back next year, and Ill probably go to another one before then. (Bristol looks the favourite)
David: I cant remember the exact score, but we definitely lost by at least 3 or 4 goals...

Another great weekend from Kev and the Roaming Robots crew, pity about the weather though, as Ian said cleared up just in time for going home.
Thanks also to Dave Young from Team Mad for driving Leveller both days and doing an exellent job, and managing to beat Tornado and Ewe 2. Looking forward to next years event, only hope Kev can orginise better weather next time.

Stephen - (wasnt it only supposed to open if someone pushed the pit tyre? Good fun anyway).
Pit opens when someone hits the button, or after 2 minutes of a 3 minute fight. Better driving next time :)

At last, I got a robot in the arena, even if it was a bit lacking, but it was the testing it needed.
Ian? Titanium? Pimp bounced off my scrapyard ally box section - Youre using the wrong stuff! :) Edit: Picture on the profile
Thanks to Kev, Jonno and the crew... this bot will be back...

Roaming Robots / Robot Rampage, Newark 19th / 20th June 2004

-
Roaming Robots / Robot Rampage, Newark 19th / 20th June 2004
great event. still have a big lump on elbow from diving into the wheelie bin goal post!
Trig: scoreing a hatrick past dave not exactly hard, is it!
All robots have came back with a problem  G3 has damaged a speedo, Alpha has stripped a gear (hence lack of push in last 3 fights) and merlin has broken motor. ah well! only one year to go till the next!
