Im going to be awkward again, and direct you to the latest Y4 design. Sorry, but be fair, the draw has not been done yet, so it is legal.

Weight: 99 kilos
Body Shape: T-Minus
Speed: 16mph
TC: 0
GC: 8mm, but the flipper blade reaches 0.
Wheels: 2 semi outer (that means theyre protected)
Armour: 5mm steel on body, 9mm titanium on wheelguards.
Power: The usual 3x 12v batteries and couple Magmotors (S28-400s) for power.
Colour: Grey
Weapons: An extremely powerful pneumatic CO2 flipper (Try 300 kilos+). Can perform about 30 or so flips before it starts weakening.
Srimech: The flipper acts as srimech. It can also be used as gymnastics. A light flip will knock the robot back over, but pressing hard on the button will send the robot into a 540 degree spin before landing, or a Matador style bound in mid air. All prperly controlled, of course. The robot can also run inverted, so if it gets too close to the arena wall, it should be OK.
Inspiration: A quote from a cartoon. Taz-mania, I believe.
Strengths: Powerful flipper, very entertaining.
Weaknessess: Semi exposed wheels.

I was wondering what a beater was. Now I know... unfortunately.

Awesome design, I expect to see a few of these emerge.

I watched that Humdinger vid about 2 weeks ago and was literally drooling over it... damn Aaron for hearing about it too! :sad:

The beater concept looks like a spinning triangle of horizontal bars designed to flip rather than damage. Am I right?

I think its more a drum type thing with less complexity and more ability to throw people in the air as well as damage.

Basically its a spinning drum in the shape of an I (looking from the side). It flips and damages and is scary.

Only close ups I could find of a beater at the moment.
