starting work on my new FW axe, trying to figure out what kinda style to go for, i might go scorpion style, but pneumatic :)

I believe it's the axe mechanism that used to be in Thor before that was changed over to pneumatics, so it's easy to understand why it's so impressive :)
its a very good system yet i cant decide on what kind or axe mech to go for?

the thor mech went into hammer time that has now become corkscrew, whether it has wound up it scorpion i don't know. go for rack and pinion, easiest one to do imo
my ram aint quite up too it, unless i get a rack and pinion made and welded on
Get a length of steel tube or H-beam, weld a chain to it, weld them to pneumatic ram, attach corresponding sprocket to axe and voila, a rack and pinion system. You can tailor the length of the tube/chain to suit your axe based on the stroke of the piston.

just buy a rack and pinion set of gears then either weld it on or turn a female thread into it so it screws onto your ram

Got a full LP pneumatic system off a 100mm bore ram sorted
And Litton 800w motors for drive out of an old bot off the wars so a little bit of history involved in it as well :)
I'll start work as soon as I get the bits bit I should Hopfully have it done for whitwick... If I'm lucky
But, right now I'm dead happy :)

Reaper has been compleatly shot blasted and coated in a anit rust layer and it looks great, down to my sponsors (w&w steel) in the new year for repairs and get my parts, then its full steam ahead!
also, achieved a new sponsor today, midlands blasting ;)
