Seggys a box. Flipping Hells a steep wedge. Seggy will not be able to go over the top, so Seggy is gonna get launched. BTW, Ill ask my mate to take a video of the design to show what the relative power is (a 500g 2 pivot flipper can throw another 500g object about 6ft. Translate that into 100kg, and you got some serious flip

NSBFL 7
Ive seen the picture. I still say it sucks that you lost after throwing your opponant OOTA :P

You showed me a pic of one of your flipper robots hurling its opponant OOTA,in a fight you still managed to lose thanks to the 30-second OOTA rule or something similar.

NSBFL 7
a: That wasnt a 2 pivot flipper that was throwing out, That was TD, a normal flipper
b: its a minute rule, and I threw it out on 59 seconds :P

A notice to everyone. While this tourney has been going steadily, if slowly, that could well change in the future. I have some other commitments now and while I will try to keep the once a week schedule, I cant promise I will. Sorry all.

...Other commitments, my buttocks. Thisll teach me not to open my stupid gob too soon. Fights up when theyre done.

It€™s late, but time to begin Heat N. We€™ve got a right mixture of weapons today. Discs, flippers and€¦ Aw, hell. Today€™s seed is a mix in itself:proud:
That seed is Seggy the 3rd. It€™s an invertible box with nine weapon setups, although four have had to be dropped to get it in this tourney. The armour and drive are tough, so standard for vapour €˜bots, and each weapon looks as effective as the last. However, if Dave picks the wrong weapon he could be in trouble.
Flipping Hell hopes to live up to its name here. Based on the two pivot system used in some K€™Nex €˜bots, this machine should be able to OOTA an opponent from the centre of the ring! With such power, can anything stand up to Flipping Hell€™s might? We€™ll find out shortly.
The Doomsday Project is another machine Steve is hoping to live up to its name. With tough hardox armour and a vertical flywheel large enough to induce trouser dampness in any competitor, it could well do. However, manoeuvrability issues could mean Steve has trouble getting that horrible thing he calls a weapon into play.
Insecticide has one of the sweetest looking renders I€™ve ever seen, but not only that, it has a large horizontal flywheel, and it€™s invertible so it could be a nightmare for flippers, and nice Ti armour so spinners could struggle too. However, it isn€™t painted red.
Battle 1
Seggy the 3rd vs Flipping Hell in the Classic arena
3€¦
2€¦
1€¦..
ACTIVATE!!
Seggy charges Flipping Hell almost head on, but turns around at the last second to attack Flipping Hell€™s side! Flipping Hell turns around and almost gets under Seggy, but Seggy reverses quickly away and goes for the side again, managing to get under! Seggy fires its flipper, tipping Flipping Hell up, but not over. Seggy drives forwards under Flipping Hell some more as it bounces and fires again, tipping Flipping Hell over! The flipper is fired to right Flipping hell, and it launches itself into the air, coming down on its wheels!
However, it looks like something€™s wrong with Flipping Hell as it doesn€™t move to attack Seggy, and CO2 is leaking from the flipper! Quickly, Seggy tosses it over again, and Flipping hell seems powerless to self right. Flipping hell is counted out, and the house robots come out to play. First in is Uncle Tomahawk, smashing the axe into Flipping hell a couple of times. Flipup comes in with the bucket scoop and rights Flipping Hell, which doesn€™t move to get away. While the pit descends, Flipup pushes Flipping Hell onto the floor flipper, and once more Flipping Hell is sailing through the air! Bane catches it as it lands, and pushes it into the pit.
When examined later, it turns out that landing from the massive self right not only broke the flipper system, but also destroyed the one of the motor mounts, and dislodges both gearboxes, effectively destroying the drivechain. Flipping hell, flipped straight to hell. Seggy the 3rd goes through to the heat final!
Battle 2
The Doomsday Project vs Insecticide in the Roulette arena.
3€¦
2€¦
1€¦..
ACTIVATE!!
Doomsday accelerates fairly sluggishly for a LEM driven machine as it approaches Insecticide. By the time the machines meet, both are spun up fully and it€™s Insecticide who strikes the first blow, dodging around to the side of Doomsday and catching it full on the side! Doomsday stops spinning fairly quickly and is able to counterattack! Insecticide is thrown onto its back in a shower of sparks, and a tear is visible on the right wheel pod! Insecticide doesn€™t seem to have been slowed down by this as it backs away. Steve looks worried though, as Doomsday€™s flywheel is refusing to spin up again.
Doomsday backs away from Insecticide as it comes in full throttle with the nearly spun up flywheel, and strikes again! Doomsday is spun away and lands on one of the pits, and failing to drop out, goes at Insecticide with the rear srimech flipper, only to be caught on the flipper with the flywheel, and spun back over the pit! Again, Steve is lucky and he starts breathing again. Doomsday goes after Insecticide again, and gets under one of the wheel pods and flips, bouncing Insecticide up!
Insecticide comes back down to earth, only for Doomsday to shunt it into the PPZ! Insecticide is sent straight up Flipup€™s ramp, and thrown into the centre of the arena where it bounces over a pit and drops straight down! Steve thanks his lucky stars, and flips Flipup over in gratitude, then driving Doomsday over the pits until it also falls down to get away from all four house robots which are charging after his machine.
Insecticide, swatted. The Doomsday Project goes on!
And so the heat final, Seggy the 3rd vs The Doomsday Project in the Classic arena.

NSBFL 7
Me Seed + Me Though...
...wow
Wooty fights franky.
Heat Final
So Im allowed Set ups A, B, D, H and I
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions
Passive Wedge Time I think.
Basically I will aim to get around the sides and push towards the house robots or the pit, I think I should be able to get underneath the front end due to that my wedge is heavier than the front scoop.
I will use my extra speed and acceleration to great effect and try to get into the semi finals by ramming.
WCS - Seggy gets flipped over, and so has to run on a half-wedge
Good Luck Steve

HEAT N
HEAT FINAL
Seggy the Third VS THE DOOMSDAY PROJECT
Time to avenge RotRotB! back in VFT6, methinks. :)
Keep to the sides throughout. Hopefully, the discll be able to put a few slices into the steel shell, but failing that, itll be a case of driving under the sides with the spatula and simply shoving around to the House Bots or the Pit.
Id wish you luck, Dave, but I doubt youre going to need it against one of the most infamous underachievers around :proud:
-
NSBFL 7
Change of Plan:
Skirts and drum, keep to the sides throughout, he has super tough skirts, so Im using the drum to flip it over, and so I should be able to keep around the sides.
-
NSBFL 7
Maybe next time I wont forget to add shock proofers
-
NSBFL 7
Boo. Scared yet? No? Bugger. Anyways, it€™s time for the heat N final. In round one, Flaming Hell destroyed itself self righting. Seggy the 3rd through. The Doomsday Project lost its weapon early, but still overcame Insecticide thanks to some luck in the Roulette arena. But which will go through to the last 16?
1€¦
2€¦
3€¦..
It€™s backwards day. Bite me.
CEASE!!
As in the last fight, Doomsday is slightly sluggish to start, and Seggy is soon off to the side, slamming in and starting to push Doomsday sideway! With the drum not spun up anywhere near full, Doomsday isn€™t bounced up much, but Seggy is still able to take Doomsday sideways into the wall! Seggy backs off away from Doomsday as it turns the massive flywheel to face it, and reverses away as Doomsday gives chase! Seggy is faster though, and so there is some distance put between the two.
Seggy soon outmanoeuvres Steve€™s creation though and crashes into the side again! This time with the drum spun up to full, Doomsday is bounced up, and then tipped over as Seggy gets under! The flywheel crashes into the floor, bouncing Doomsday away in a shower of wood splinters! Doomsday ends up on its back, but self righting is prevented as Seggy crashes into it and takes it into Bane€™s CPZ! Seggy shoves Doomsday straight into the err€¦ Hand of Bane, and Doomsday is stuck on its back as Bane grips with full force, although not managing to make any impression on the hardox armour. Seggy backs off and rams a few times for good measure though.
Thirty seconds pass with Bane not managing to do much to the hardox, and so Doomsday is released, and self rights straight out of Bane€™s grip, and exits the CPZ, with the flywheel starting to spin up again! Seggy dives in for the side, but this time Doomsday gets the attack in as it turns and catches Seggy on the side! Seggy is thrown up with a huge gash appearing in the side! Seggy crashes into the side barrier, and drives away as Doomsday comes in again! Steve puts the brakes on to stop Doomsday from destroying the wall though, and gives chases once more.
Seggy quickly brakes and turns, and drives by Doomsdays side, turning around and trying to hit the rear! Doomsday turns, and so Seggy slams into the side and again starts pushing Doomsday around! Doomsday tries to turn away from the shove, but Seggy turns with it and so Doomsday is pushed in a circle before being slammed flywheel first into the side of Bane! The house robot turns to once more grip Doomsday, but instead catches it on the side and shunts Doomsday sideways into the wall! Seggy reverses from the CPZ as Bane turns to grip Doomsday, but Doomsday also reverses out of there.
Seggy goes after the rear of Doomsday, but thanks to the set-up, rides up and gets turned over. Doomsday reverses after Seggy to catch it again, but Seggy just runs off and spins around to face Doomsday again. Doomsday also turns to bring the flywheel into play, but it doesn€™t seem to be spinning. Taking full advantage, Dave crashes Seggy right into the front of Doomsday and once more drives it backwards into Bane€™s CPZ! For the second time, Bane grips onto what it can€™t damage, but Seggy is really racking up the points should it come to a judges decision.
Thirty seconds pass, and Doomsday is released. The flywheel still isn€™t spinning, and it€™s become clear that being slammed into the hardox hide of Bane was too much for it. Seggy slams Doomsday into the wall as it escapes the CPZ, and slams in another couple of times before shunting Doomsday along the wall and into Flipup€™s CPZ! Steve is lucky and is pushed into the bucket scoop and overturned rather than being tossed up high, but Seggy crashes into it before it can self right and pushes it into the wall! Doomsday is unable to self right due to the wall, and is counted out! Then flipup comes in and throws Doomsday out of the arena!
The Doomsday Project met its own doom. Seggy the 3rd marches on!

NSBFL 7
Coming up next week, its the penultimate heat! Fighting will be:
The Deer (4) vs Powerpoint Reaches Preassurepoint - The Moat
Hefty Kick in the Balls vs Black Chalkie Beard - The Moat
-
NSBFL 7
Hmm...
*thinks about it*
...Wooty fights Frank.
That drum is good isnt it :)
Heat O tactics:
The moat is in heavy use today :)
Spilt up at the moment active is called and basically one part will remain around the front end of Hefty Kick in the Balls, when the other half goes around the rear to get underneath and lift it up before the other part comes around and the duo will push Hefty into the moat.
-
NSBFL 7
The Deer (4)(me) vs Powerpoint Reaches Preassurepoint
I know i wont be able to damage him but i should be able to grab his sides which is fun, at 25cm i am lower than his weapon so i should be able to grab his sides and risk no damage a drop him into the moat
-
NSBFL 7
Under the claws , he is almost guaranteed to have some form of ground clearance, so spin up and slide underneath them at the front, drag them up and either push or smash depending on how high we can get them up the skirt. Pushing power and wepaon power are my 2 main advantages.
-
NSBFL 7
I did say Id still post atctics for a while.
-
NSBFL 7
Heat O begins now, and we€™ve got four more dangerous machines competing for that penultimate place in the last 16. They are:
The Deer is our fourth seed. It€™s a low box with Kan Opener style crushing claws, capable of producing a more than respectable three and a half tonnes of hurtability. Magmotor drive gives a decent amount of shove, but the lexan armour could mean its downfall against all those high energy spinners. In series 6 as Crusher Chaos, it munched its way past Hannibal and Heir to Black Panther, before Wedge 1 sent it on its way, then eventually come second in that manic 5th place playoff melee.
Black Chalkie Beard is a cluster €˜bot with interchangeable wheel set ups and front weapons. With very tough hardox armour, low Titanium skirts, a reliable weapon and an extremely compact shape, this could do well. However low traction with the wheels, and of course each part being light mean it could well lose in the shoving stakes. Last seen in NSBFL X as Chalkie, it went out in the first round of the new blood after being ganged up on by every other machine in the arena.
PowerPoint Reaches Pressure-point boasts tough armour, a clever srimech and a horrible weapon. That weapon is a Hazard style spinning bar, producing just over 80 KJ€™s of energy. The height of the bar could be a problem but to pensate, PRP can get under opponents using its powerful Magmotor drive and so elevate them into the pain zone, and likely blasting them across the arena in the process. Matty designed this in the same vein as the legendary SpinVerter, trying to make the best of everything into a small package. Will it do as well as its inspiration?
Finally, we have Hefty Kick In The Balls, the last machine from Scott€™s camp. Armed with a horrifying 75 CM spinning vertical flipper, this machine has low armour by vapour €˜bot standards, but great armour by real standards. Although this machine has no srimech, the skirts, driving, and of course the fact that the weapon could obliterate almost anything in one or two blows means it may not need one.

Instantly the bar spins up on PRP, but as Martyn knows his machine is too low for the bar to hit, he isn€™t worried, and edges his machine towards PRP, adjusting the claws to grip PRP easily once he€™s in distance. PRP is also moving towards the Deer however, and the two meet in the arena centre. Matty is aiming for the front of The Deer as the best place to get under, but all that happens is the claws snip shut fully, catching PRP by the sides! PRP drives forwards still, but is unable to drive under The Deer as the claws have caught the Ti area of PRP€™s armour, bending it enough to catch on without PRP sliding through the gap!
The Deer is forced backwards however, before Martyn engages forward drive on The Deer, hoping to send PRP backwards. The two machines stalemate for a few moments, but inevitably the four motors on PRP overpower the two on The Deer and the seed is edged backwards towards the moat! This happens slowly as The Deer fights every inch of the way, until suddenly The Deer shoots backwards! It seems that another seed is going to crash out in a matter of seconds, but The Deer suddenly spins on the edge of the moat, send PRP down the gap! Still clutching onto it, The Deer is pulled over as well, but it€™s obvious who went down first.
Powerpoint reached disaster point. The Deer moves forwards!
Battle 2
Hefty Kick In The Balls vs Black Chalkie Beard in the Moat.

Hefty€™s disc is at full speed almost instantly, moving from standing start to a blur in the blink of an eye! The cluster €˜bot splits up, and Black heads to the front of Hefty while Beard drives around the side of the much larger machine. Black drives at the disc, but backs off as Hefty comes towards it, and leads Hefty on! Meanwhile, Beard has gotten to the rear of Hefty where there are no skirts, but Hefty turns around so Beards attack is deflected by the side skirt! Hefty continues to turn and catches Beard with the flywheel, hurling the 50 KG machine into the air, where it bounces off the floor and straight down into the moat!
Left alone, Black drives straight at the now exposed rear of Hefty and succeeds in getting under while beard is flying through the sir! The lifting forks do their job and lift Hefty up, but the flywheel bites into the floor, bouncing Hefty off the sword, and almost onto its side! However the gyroscopic force of the flywheel rights Hefty and it lands on its wheels, much to Scott€™s relief! Black goes in for another attempt, but Hefty just has to twitch around slightly to clip Black€™s front, bouncing it up and over! Hefty drives in for a better attack and just succeeds in clipping Black again, causing Dave to lose valuable control, and making him helpless as Hefty drives in as Black goes over to finally catch Black full on! Like its twin, it€™s hurled through the air and sinks into the moat after hitting the floor, bouncing and rolling.
Black Chalkie Beard wasn€™t even dented. But it€™s still out of the competition. Hefty Kick In The Balls moves through to the heat final!
Coming up some time soon, it€™s The Deer vs Hefty Kick In The Balls in the Last €˜bot Standing arena. See you then.

*Thinks something is wrong with Frank posting fights 2 days early*
Ah bugger, still wooty fights :)
Knew BCB had its weaknesses.

Managed to hurt myself, so I couldnt work today. Also, with a nice four day weekend, expect some more fights along the Easter period.
-
NSBFL 7
Well thats my interest out.
One less torunament for me to stay for.
-
NSBFL 7
By the way. after heat P, well have the first round of the Middleweights. The house robots will be the same as for the heavies, but the weapons will be cranked down to half power. After the last 16, well have the first round of the lightweights, featuring half sized, half powered versions of the house robots and scaled down arenas, then after the qaurter finals well have the lightweights, which have the mini house robots with their weapon power halved.
-
NSBFL 7
So we are having the lightweights twice then Franky :proud:

NSBFL 7
No, were just having a tired author crisis. You make it sound like it isnt common :P

i dont have any tired author cicise, i just have lazy author crisis. alot.

Welcome to the final of Heat O! In round 1, The Deer used some tricky driving to drop PRP into the moat, while Hefty Kick In The Balls smashed both parts of Black Chalkie Beard into the moat as well, despite doing no damage to each piece. Now these two robotic gladiators meet each other in the Last €˜Bot Standing arena to determine which one we€™ll see more of in the future. Will Hefty cause another upset, or will The Deer€™s experience see it through?
3€¦
2€¦
1€¦..
ACTIVATE!!
Hefty is off to the faster start in both weapon speed and acceleration stakes, as it moves towards The Deer, who reverses and dodges away so Hefty shoots past it! The Deer spins on the spot and drives up behind Hefty and grips it from behind! This is all going according to Martyn€™s plan as he shoves Hefty disc first into the arena wall, and would shatter it if I hadn€™t replaced the polycarb panels with hardox ones and sent the bill to the guy who made N3.
At any rate, sparks fly as Hefty is bounced backwards a bit by its own power! Hefty starts to push The Deer backwards now, but The Deer isn€™t letting go, and the pinchers are managing to crumple the armour a bit! Hefty isn€™t having it all its own way in the pushing stakes either, and is only managing to slowly edge The Deer backwards. As The Deer isn€™t technically pinning Hefty, Martyn is also under no obligation to let go. Hefty drives forwards dragging The Deer with it, and turns at the last moment, crashing the rear end of The Deer into the arena wall! This jars The Deer just enough so Hefty is able to get out of its grip!
The Deer chases after the rear of Hefty, but Hefty is able to get away and turn to face The Deer! The Deer tries to get around to the side of Hefty, but Hefty turns and catches the Deer on the side before it can get out of flywheel range! The Deer is bounced up, then thrown over as Hefty moves forwards for another attack! Two large cracks have appeared on The Deers armour, and a third is added as Hefty strikes the other side! The Deer is able to drive away from the next attack, but still takes a clip to the rear, and a small piece of armour goes flying off!
The Deer runs away from Hefty, but can€™t seem to escape as Hefty€™s acceleration is faster, but as Hefty drives forwards, The Deer suddenly turns and reverses and Hefty goes shooting past! The Deer slams into forward drive, and the wheels spin on the spot a little before The Deer moves forwards and manages to grapple the turning Hefty! The Deer pushes Hefty sideways into a wall, and sparks fly as once more the flywheel of Hefty hits the wall! This dislodges Hefty, and more sparks fly as the flywheel hits one of The Deer€™s claws, bouncing The Deer up a little!
The Deer turns so the two machines are side by side, and Hefty can€™t bring the flywheel into play, and both reverse along the wall! Hefty stops and drives forwards to try and turn to face The Deer, but The Deer once more uses this to grapple onto Hefty€™s rear and push it forwards into the wall! Sparks fly and both machines are bounced backwards, but The Deer pushes forwards again to shove the flywheel into the wall once more! Hefty now manages to start reversing and shoving The Deer backwards, but it looks like Martyn€™s plan has paid off. The flywheel isn€™t spinning!
The Deer pushes back, but is outclasses slightly by the higher voltage on Hefty, and so is shoved inexorably backwards. Hefty once more shoots forwards, but this time Martyn releases the claws so Hefty charges straight forwards and slams into the wall! The Deer chases after it and grabs it around the side as it turns and crumples the armour some more. Even though none of The Deer€™s attacks have pierced Hefty€™s side, the armour is looking very crumpled.
Both machines spin around as Hefty tries to break free, and The Deer increases its grip and tries to push it along! Hefty is the stronger pusher, but The Deer€™s contribution mean they€™re moving around in wide circles, with neither at a particular advantage! The Deer lets go, and Hefty spins around to push The Deer from the side into a wall! The Deer turns and catches Hefty by the front, and once more the two engage in a shoving match, until all of a sudden The Deer starts easily shoving Hefty backwards and into the far wall! The Deer backs off, and wee can see wisps of smoke are coming from underneath Hefty! It€™s not moving, and it looks like its motors have burnt out with the over-volting, so Hefty is counted out!
Hefty Kick In The Balls given a red card for foul play, The Deer defies all the odds of being a seed and moves through to the last 16!

HEAT P
ELIMINATORS
1) Annoying Box Rush VS WEDGE DEVOLUTION (2)
Nick. Goody. :S All I can really do is to stick to the sides, keep flipping ABR around and hopefully manage to prop it against the wall or chuck it oot the ring.
2) Ringwraith VS You Only Live Once
If Alex can get some good blows in on the wheels, then You Only Live Once may not live up to its name :proud:
-
NSBFL 7
Well, we€™re here at last at heat P. The end of the road to the last 16, to which only the proven machines may aspire€¦ Meaning with only the toughest through, the carnage can really begin:proud: But I€™m getting ahead of myself. One place remains, and we€™ve got four contenders hoping to book a ticket. Shall we meet them?
Forget pretenders like MDU and SpinVerter. Steven McGregor€™s Wedge series are the most famous vapour €˜bots around, and with good reason. After narrowly missing the trophy twice with Wedge 1, Steve€™s back with Wedge Devo, the fourth in the series. With hardox armour, LEM motor drive and a flipper capable of tossing a tonne, this machine is always there or there abouts. Last time around it flipped its way past Ripoff, Double Killa, and Crusher Chaos, only to be out fought in the semis by Achilles. It ended on a high note though, flipping Dervish from the ring to claim third place, and with Maximum Velocity gone moves up to second. It then went on to win the NSBFL X all stars.
Annoying Box Rush 2 will be no push over for the seed though. With 8 wheel drive, a good lifter and the Lowest Wedge in the Competition (TM), Nick is planning on doing exactly what his machine says on the tin. Annoying Box Rush originally started life as a SpinVerter clone, but has since evolved into something like Minion. Even with heavy duty Ti armour and a steel chassis, this is still one of the lightest machines in the competition, allowing Nick to add extra armour for those spinners he really loves:proud: However, with no real knockout punch, this machine could have trouble in some arenas. Last time around it flipped ForcePower from the arena, but was then flipped out by SegV in the next round.
If Ringwraith looks familiar, that€™s because it went by the name Dervish before Richard Southworth bought it on Vapour €™bot Ebay. Whatever he spent must have been worth it, as its thick lexiguard armour could protect it from a lot of harm, and the spinning body could produce a lot of harm. Added to that is the fact that the tricky shape could make some designs struggle badly against it, not to mention the fact that Dervish has proved itself in these arenas time and again, this should really be no different.
Lastly is You Only Live Once, from Alex Holt who these days flat out refuses to make a normal design. Like its more widely known (and feared) older brother Archangel of the Abyss, it has a two tier spinning system designed to bring out a tear or two from his opponents. The difference is, they are designed to work in tandem rather than back each other up, as he€™s hoping one will knock a foe into the other, thus producing a one-two suckerpunch to floor the opposition in double quick time.

ACTIVATE!!
Both machines are off to a quick start, as Wedge Devo shoots to ABR€™s side and turns around to get under! ABR keeps driving forwards and swerves around though and the first attack is averted, and ABR charges Wedge Devo! Wedge Devo turns and reverses away, and ABR clips it on the corner sending it into a shot spin! Both machines turn to get and get at each others side and meet head to head instead. Despite the superior drive, it€™s Wedge Devo who is edged back as ABR gets under the front wedge and puts its eight wheels to good use. Wedge Devo starts to back off, but the lifter rises and the front end of Wedge Devo is taken off the floor!
ABR shoves Wedge Devo back along the arena and into the wall before lifting it over completely! Wedge Devo self rights away from the wall, only for ABR to slam into it again as it does so, and knock it back over, where it rests on its side momentarily before falling onto its back again. Wedge Devo self rights again, only for ABR to get straight back under and shunt it side ways, lifting it over and dropping it in The Militant€™s CPZ! Steve allows The Militant to attack, spinning the up-ended Wedge Devo away from ABR before self righting, but this only allows ABR to get under the rear of Wedge Devo and lift it over again.
ABR pushes the up ended Wedge Devo towards Flipup, but Steve isn€™t having any of that and self rights Wedge Devo! Wedge Devo bounces up and lands on ABR as it shoots underneath! The lifter of ABR rises again, tipping Wedge Devo off behind ABR, and ABR reverses and shoves the upended Wedge Devo into the wall! Wedge Devo self rights, only to have its base plate meet ABR€™s rear end (mind boggle:crazy:, and ABR reverses Wedge Devo into the wall again! Once more the flipper fires, and the power bounces ABR away from the area while Wedge Devo self rights in peace, only to be rammed into the wall again by a reversing ABR coming in on the side!
Wedge Devo escapes along the arena wall, and ABR pauses a second before turning to follow. Wedge Devo€™s acceleration seems to be faster, so Steve is able to get some distance, and time to think. Something he€™s been lacking in while ABR was on its offensive. ABR soon catches up though, and Wedge Devo dodges away, turning around to try and get under the rear of ABR! ABR turns and reverses away though, but Steve manages to also turn Wedge Devo in time to get under ABR€™s side! The flipper fires and the lighter machine is sent spinning into the air, where it lands on its back!
Quick as a flash, Steve sees his chance and gets under ABR€™s side, taking it in the direction of the arena wall, his intention of ending the fight quickly clear. Nick has other plans though, and self rights ABR right off Wedge Devos flipping plate before getting near to the wall, and Wedge 1 goes shooting towards the wall a bit more before Steve slams on the brakes and turns Wedge devo around, lunging after the side of ABR again! ABR spins out of the way as the lifter returns to its position, just in time for a handy attack on Wedge Devo€™s side!
The lifter raises again, but Wedge Devo is able to escape and its skirt is briefly lifted up as ABR misses the main target. ABR gives chase on Wedge Devo, and the two spin around each other while looking for a weakness. ABR is able to get under a corner of Wedge Devo, and tries lifting up, only managing a small lift before Wedge Devo falls off again! ABR powers forwards some more and lifts Wedge Devo up properly, and once more the Scottish machine is inverted! ABR pushes Wedge Devo towards Bane€™s CPZ, but once more Wedge Devo self rights in mid push, and this time briefly ends up on top of Bane, before falling off and landing between Bane and the wall!
Wedge Devo tries to self right, but can€™t thanks to where it is in position to the wall! Bane helps matters by turning around trying to get to Wedge Devo, as it nudges Wedge Devo sideways as it does so! Quick as a flash, Wedge Devo self rights and gets out of the CPZ, only for ABR to slam under its side, and turn it over again, once more turning to shove it into Bane€™s grip, but Wedge Devo self rights away from ABR, and runs away a bit to get up some space! ABR turns and follows, as a wailing is heard and the pit descened! Wedge Devo brakes to avoid going down the pit as it descends, but ABR slams in underneath Wedge Devo and pushes it down anyway, falling after it in a cloud of smoke!
Wedge Devo never got into that fight. The Annoying Box Rushes into the heat final!

It€™s Ringwraith who strikes first, slamming into the front of YOLO, being sent away from the scene of the crime by YOLO€™s own spinner! The front armour of YOLO looks a bit torn, and there€™s a crack in the spinning body of Ringwraith as well! It looks like this could turn into a ramming competition to see who breaks first.
ALEX has other ideas though, as YOLO gets the next chance to attack, and he aims straight at the wheel of Ringwraith! Richard tries to turn Ringwraith away from the attack, but the wheel is knocked upwards and Ringwraith does an extremely cool dance as it€™s spun around at the same time! The second blow Alex was hoping for doesn€™t materialise however as Ringwraith is knocked away from the damage zone! Ringwraith lands and tries to go back on the attack, but it€™s YOLO who gets the blow in, once more making Ringwraith dance like a Dervish!:proud:
Ringwraith attacks YOLO again, but all the spinning has confused poor Richard, and he ends up hitting YOLO with the downward spinning part of Ringwraith! Ringwraith is bounced into the air by both its own downward force and YOLO€™s uppercutting lower ring, and another crack has appeared on the spinning shell! YOLO drives in again and attacks the momentarily stationary spinning shell, bouncing Ringwraith up again! YOLO chases Ringwraith along the arena, bouncing the cylinder along in front of it and not giving Richard time to get away!
Ringwraith ends up by the arena wall, and Alex takes YOLO in for what he hopes will be a final slam, but YOLO can€™t get enough upwards momentum to throw Ringwraith out of the competition, and Ringwraith is bounced off the wall and into a CPZ where nothing painful happens to it due to lack of house robots. Ringwraith backs away from YOLO to get a decent spin up, and charges straight at YOLO! YOLO spins around to get the right side facing Ringwraith, who again is knocked upwards and around in an awesome piece of footage that could be shown on the highlight clips at the end of the series!
YOLO drives in after Ringwraith and hits the wheel again! Ringwraith looks in real trouble as the spinning shell doesn€™t seem to be€¦ Erm€¦ Spinning. It€™s covered in cracks from the countless bashes YOLO has taken at it, and now YOLO goes in even fiercer than before, sensing victory! Ringwraith takes two more shots to the wheels and bravely€¦ Runs away. It seems Richard€™s plan is to stall until the house robot appears and hope it disables YOLO for him. Alex isn€™t having any of it, and chases Ringwraith down again striking the wheels a few more times! The siren wails, but by that time it seems Ringwraith can only move in circles. Richard accepts defeat and turns off the remote control to immobilise Ringwraith, saving it from any more pain. The emerging Flipup does nothing in this fight but simply shove Ringwraith into the pit as soon as it€™s counted out.
Ringwraith met the Lord of the Ring€¦Spinner. You Only Live Once makes the most of its lifetime and moves through to the heat final!
Coming up next week:

Go me!
However an annoying next match, however my angled spinner has the advantage in that i should be able to turn opponents over with it or at least throw them. Just go for it, not much else i can do.
My lance chance to hold onto my title...

Electromagnets
These are not allowed for use in weapons. Nor are you allowed to use any other kind of electricity in your weapon, aside from what€™s powering your spinning disk, axe or whatever.

NSBFL 7
Has it seemed as long to you as it has to me? But we€™ve reached the end of the first leg of NSBFL 7 at last, as either Annoying Box Rush 2 or You Only Live Once book the last place in the last 16. Both completely controlled their first round matches, as Annoying Box Rush rammed and slammed Wedge Devo around the arena before casting it into the pit, while You Only Live Once slashed Ringwraith to ribbons. As a side note, Annoying Box Rush is considerably heavier in this fight than it was against Wedge Devo, due to Nick adding his anti spinner lead waffle on the front. He€™ll need it, because we€™re going to the Last €˜Bot Standing arena.

ABR starts the battle slowly, edging towards YOLO as YOLO backs away while spinning up. When YOLO reaches a decent speed it changes direction and heads for ABR, but ABR slams into full forward gear and smashes into YOLO! Something flies away as both machines are bounced away from each other, and from the way YOLO starts skipping around before turning itself over, it looks like that something was one of YOLO€™s teeth! Alex turns YOLO€™s spinners off and self rights YOLO, but ABR slams in and smashes the self righting YOLO into the arena wall! YOLO self rights, but ABR catches it as it lands and turns it over again, spinning it around so that the lifting plate on top of YOLO takes it into the wall. ABR spins on the spot as YOLO is counted out in what proved a very brief heat final.
Where€™s a green mushroom when you need one? It€™s game over for You Only Live Once, and Annoying Box Rush moves forwards!
