Sorry, not built, designed.
Please dont start arguing.
Welcome to VFT6 - were a quarter of the way through the heats, and weve seen seeded robots Manic Monsoon, Tempest Evil-er-ution and Psyclone win through their heats, as well as unseeded Orka Mk3! Wholl be the winner of Heat E?
Ninth seed SOR 4.0, the VFT1 champion, only made it to its heat final in VFT5 where despite aggressive tactics, it lost a 35-25 judges decision to WOSS 1.5 on Damage! Again, SOR has changed to try and put another VFT trophy next to its current one - its body is now a taller version of Storm 2s, with its two wheels now safe inside! Its front flipping arm is rear hinged and acts as a srimech, and its rear spinner is now a horizontal disc! SOR has a skid steer system to aid manouverability, but its still not the quickest robot at 13mph and its pushing power isnt great either, although it does boast almost instant accleration - will it accelerate through this heat?
25th seed Achilles was also a heat finalist in the last VFT - Monsoons Back defeated it with superior speed and ramming ability, to send it down the pit! Achilles is a box with a curved back, and its weapon remains a hydraulic lifting arm, able to get under anything with its low plate, and a hook mechanism to grip victims and render them helpless! It can also replace its hydraulics with pneumatics for speedy lifting, and the hook with a T shaped bar at the back for selfrighting! This robot is fast at 18mph, and its 4mm armour should hold up OK, along with 5mm rubber on top, but in a judges decision, it could lose points by not being able to cause Damage!
Back On The Chain Gang only reached Round 2 in VFT5, and faced a painful death at the hands of Parasite, who ripped through its armour and immobilised its wheels! Back then, Chain Gang was a Nightmare-esque robot - now its an invertable box with a low wedge on either side, and embedded in the front wedge is a 12.5kg spinning drum, which produces 28kj and should do no good to opponents wheels when BOTCG is underneath! This robot has good pushing power, but can a flipper exploit the unskirted sides?
Chip seems to be a constantly changing robot, or different robots with the same name - we saw it in Techno Games as a pusher with a plow, and I saw it in a live event as a lifter. But in RW, its a low invertable robot with a horizontal disc at the front! Unfortunately, weve never seen the potential of this disc due to Chip breaking down or being sent OOTA, but you cant get an OOTA in VFT - will Chip make a fry-up of its opponents?
Hefty Kick In The Balls could be just as painful to other robots as its name is to humans - its shaped a bit like Cerberus, with front scoops and a tapered rear, but at the front is a vertical spinning disc, spinning at 2000rpm, which should cause a fair amount of destruction! Its scoops should help shove other robots, although with 2 wheels, it wont be doing that too powerfully! Hefty Kick In The Balls also has skirts to repel flippers, and pretty thick 5mm titanium armour, so it should be resistant to getting kicked in the balls itself!
Juggerbee 3.0 - if you think this robot will be similar to Juggerbot 3.0 from Robotica, youre right! This invertable box has a wedge on the front, and on the rear is an electrically powered flipper that can flip 200kg and works either way up! Juggerbee 3.0 can push twice its own weight, and is one of VFT6s fastest robots with a top speed of 30mph, but that will give it problems with control!
Rippoff Yet Again is a ring spinner - its invertable, and its 900rpm outer ring is covered with spikes to hit other robots all over for max damage! When its spinning, its difficult for a flipper to get underneath, but if its ever not spinning, it wont be able to do much with a 2 wheel drive and no other weaponry!
And Surgeon General comes to its second VFT - it reached Round 2 in VFT4, where it was destroyed by no less than the champ, Mass Disctruction Ultimate! This Battlebots heavyweight has a very powerful horizontal spinning disc, which annihilated robots like Frostbite, Killerhurtz and Hexadecimator in Battlebots! Surgeon General is invertable, but it also has questionable reliability - an accident in surgery, perhaps?
The first melee - flipper/spinner SOR 4.0, spinner Back On The Chain Gang, rammer/flipper Juggerbee 3.0 and spinner Rippoff Yet Again!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
SOR 4.0 quickly went for Rippoff Yet Again, who backed off to allow itself spin up time, while BOTCG and Juggerbee 3.0 went for each other! Rippoff Yet Again tried to dodge past SOR 4.0 to attack Juggerbee 3.0, but failed - SOR 4.0 made contact and fired its flipper, and both robots skimmed in different directions! Bouncing wildly, Rippoff hit the wall and flew back into SOR, who reacted quickly by flipping the slowed spinner! Rippoff bounced towards the pit release corner, landing on its side before it reached it. It quickly fell back onto its wheels, but before it could spin up, the ninth seed came speeding in to give it the extra nudge! Rippoff was knocked and ended up resting on SORs side, but couldnt take advantage, as SOR 4.0 was able to swing round while still trapping it, and carry it to a fatal destination - the pit! Meanwhile, BOTCG and Juggerbee 3.0 had immediately to get under each other, and it was Juggerbee 3.0 that had succeeded, before turning on the speed and slamming BOTCG into the west wall, making it go flying! BOTCG aimed to get under Juggerbee 3.0s sides, but Juggerbee had reversed out of the way and then ran back in! However, BOTCG had turned, and just got into Juggerbees side as it advanced, and Juggerbee ran up its wedge into the drum, which knocked it upwards! But it carried on going, tilting onto its side and over! Before it could run, BOTCG was underneath again and whacking away at the armour with its drum, bouncing Juggerbee 3.0 up and down against the wall!
At this point, having got rid of Rippoff Yet Again, SOR 4.0 came to join in the assault on Juggerbee 3.0 - it hit the rear flipper with its disc, but ended up hitting BOTCG as well, a knock which allowed Juggerbee 3.0 to escape, then run back into BOTCGs sides and toss it straight upwards with the flipper! But this exposed it to SOR 4.0, who came into its side and brought it against the wall, the disc making a dent in the titanium! Juggerbee started manouvering out, only for BOTCG to run into its side and lift its wheels off the ground! Juggerbee 3.0 was left stranded, with two spinners slowly eroding its armour! But after a while, the disc and drum slowed down, but that didnt make things better for Juggerbee - SOR 4.0 and BOTCG just turned their other wedges into it, spun up again and continued, BOTCG now slowly bending the flipper! The attack ended when the 30 second time limit on the pin was up, and the two attackers were forced to back off, while Juggerbee 3.0 made good its escape! SOR 4.0 and BOTCG quickly began coming towards it, but Juggerbee 3.0 ran round the ninth seed into the side of BOTCG, ramming it slower into the pit corner and flipping it again!
BOTCG bounced off Juggerbee 3.0s top just as SOR 4.0 came in to help, but again Juggerbee 3.0 got out of the way, getting under BOTCGs side again and running into the pit release! Unfortunately, BOTCG was knocked enough to escape, and it aimed to bring its rear wedge under Juggerbee 3.0, who managed to react quickly and begin a waltz with BOTCG, which quickly ended with Juggerbee 3.0 winning out and getting under! Turning around, it began a run towards the pit, which was rudely interrupted by SOR 4.0! The ninth seed came under Juggerbee 3.0s side and flipped it, tilting it forwards and causing BOTCG to tilt as well! Both robots landed on their backs, Juggerbee 3.0 resting up on BOTCGs side, but with two tyres on the ground, it was able to run off! Inverted, BOTCG tried running, but Juggerbee 3.0 quickly caught it with its flipper - avoiding SOR 4.0, it turned around and dumped BOTCG on top of Rippoff Yet Again!
CEASE!
Back On The Chain Gang and Rippoff Yet Again are eliminated!
SOR 4.0 AND JUGGERBEE 3.0 GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Next into the arena are Achilles, Chip, Hefty Kick In The Balls and Surgeon General!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Achilles and Surgeon General both moved towards Hefty Kick In The Balls, who went for Chip, who went for Surgeon General! Achilles reached its destination first, but HKITB dodged it and made it run past - this allowed HKITB to attack Surgeon General, hitting it in the side and knocking it away! Surgeon General had to respond quickly to Chips advance, striking it in the side while taking a blow in the wheel itself! Meanwhile, as HKITB advanced on Chip, Achilles attacked from behind! HKITB turned, but Achilles still managed to get round to the side, run HKITB into the wall (allowing Chip to hit in the process, and then having to reverse away from Surgeon General) and struggle to get under the skirts! Eventually, it succeeded, and began lifting HKITB! Having to go around Achilles and its victim to avoid the vertical disc, Surgeon General hit HKITB in the behind, turning both Achilles and HKITB around as HKITB was snagged on Achilless hook, and allowing Surgeon General a bite in the side, just before Chip ran into its own side, spun it into the wall and slashed the right wheel some more! Having fully lifted HKITB, Achilles rammed it into the wall, giving enough umph to overturn HKITB, and without a srimech, Hefty Kick In The Balls was left to be counted out! While Chip and Surgeon General were dancing around, Achilles ran into Chips side, and before it could run it into the arena disc, Surgeon General took it across the side and spun it around into the wall, also releasing Chip!
Chip took advantage by hitting Achilles in the side as well, making a scratch in the 4mm titanium! But this left it exposed to Surgeon General, who hit it in the side and sheared the top panel, peeling it up a little! Surgeon General then suddenly found itself being rammed and lifted by Achilles - avoiding the still mobile Chip, the 25th seed rushed Surgeon General right into the wall and bounced off! Fully lifting the American, Achilles charged it into the wall again - the invertable Surgeon General was turned over and its disc made it bounce backwards, knocking the advancing Chip! Chip quickly hit the right wheel again, leaving Surgeon General a little wobbly! But Chip was to be the next target for Achilles, and it was shoved all the way across the arena, until they met the wall and it was overturned! Turning, Achilles caught Chip in the rear end and slammed it mercilessly into the arena disc! The strike of the disc along with the damage caused by Surgeon General worked to immobilise Chip, who was not left to rest in peace, but stacked next to Hefty Kick In The Balls by Achilles, while Surgeon General was more polite and hit the still living Achilles! While Chip was being counted out, Achilles retaliated, ramming Surgeon General into a corner and pinning it there until the buzzer!
CEASE!
Chip and Hefty Kick In The Balls are eliminated!
ACHILLES AND SURGEON GENERAL GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Heat E, Round 2:
SOR 4.0 (9) vs Surgeon General
Achilles (25) vs Juggerbee 3.0
HEAT E
ROUND 2
1) SoR 4.0 (9) VS Surgeon General
Ill take the seed to throw the General around and win by either KOing with the blade or by a JD
2) Achilles (25) VS Juggerbee 3.0
Achilles to overturn the Bee before buzzing off to the Pit :proud:
Keep up the good work, Mr S
:proud: *600th POST* :proud:
SOR 4.0 (9) vs Surgeon General
First of all, my armour should stand up to the Generals spinner fairly well, plus should cause some nice sparks.
My tactics, race in and toss it over the ring while spinning up my disc, have a few shots at the wheels and then start flipping again. Eventually after tossing it all around the ring and slicing up its wheels I should have it immobilised. failing this Ill use my 6hp drive train to push it into the pit.
Awesome fights as always Richard! Keep up the good work. :)
Isnt Chip now a flipper?
Both seeds to shine in round 2 to create a seed vs seed heat final.
AJ and Steven, thanks!
Dave, I think Chip is now a flipper, as I saw it at the Preston Roaming Robots event. But I couldnt remember enough about it to write an accurate fight, so I used the RW7 Chip, a spinner.
Ram it, and hope I can use my flipper.
Entering Round 2, will SOR 4.0 perform some unneccessary surgery on Surgeon General, or will Surgeon General be the first real robot heat finalist in VFT6?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
SOR 4.0 came racing towards Surgeon General, who tried to back off so it could spin up. It successfully did so, but SOR 4.0 was quickly upon it, aiming for the sides! Surgeon General hit SORs side before it could use the flipper, and spun itself into the wall! This allowed SOR to get under SGs side and give it a good toss with the arm! Landing close to the pit release, SG moved away and ran towards SOR 4.0, who came to meet it! Again, Surgeon General escaped a flip and whacked SOR in the side, but the Hardox wasnt badly harmed! The two robots then went head on, SOR firing its arm from under the disc to send SG twisting into the arena wall and bouncing onto the arena floor, its disc causing some crowd-pleasing bounces! SOR 4.0 was easily able to follow, then pin Surgeon General against the wall once the bouncing stopped! Its disc spinning, the ninth seed turned and hit SGs left wheel as it was tilted! SG was propelled onto SORs body, and what came next was a flip that sent it over SORs back! SOR 4.0 reversed to use its disc again, and managed to bring it along SGs armour, gashing it but not hitting the wheel! Turning Surgeon General around, it hit the rear, and used its wedge again to pin SG in the pit corner! However, Surgeon General used its wheel to turn off SOR - an attempted flip missed, and SGs disc hit the edge of a panel, throwing it off! SOR 4.0 reversed, but not quickly enough to avoid a side hit!
Surgeon General tried to follow SOR 4.0, but the ninth seed was able to get its wedge under the side again before the disc could be used, and flip! Ricocheting off the wall, SGs disc hit the floor and it bounced out of control again, SOR following and hitting the right wheel as SGs body was tilted! When SG shuddered away again, SOR 4.0 got its wedge underneath it to stop it stabilising, then twisted around and hit the right wheel again, slashing and buckling it a little! Injured but not out, Surgeon General was thrown against the wall, and it quickly ran back into SOR, its disc going over SORs so it could hit the rear! SOR 4.0 turned around to retaliate, getting under SGs side again to perform another flip! SG landed on its wheels and tried turning as SOR 4.0 advanced, but failed, and SOR again brought its wedge underneath and turned around to strike the right wheel with its disc, buckling it more! Surgeon General was barely able to move in a straight line any more, and the twisted wheel prevented it turning to use its disc defensively against SOR 4.0, who shoved into the wall and tilted it so its left wheel could recieve more punishment from the disc! SGs still spinning disc touched the wall when this happened and it bounced off, enjoying a few seconds of peace before SOR 4.0 came under it again and slashed the left wheel with its disc - the American robot was now having difficulty moving at all! SOR 4.0 was eager to end its misery, tilting it with its body again and damaging the left wheel some more, turning it right out of place! The ninth seed waited - it looked as though Surgeon General was dead to the world, but then it suddenly twitched again! SOR 4.0 came in on the side and tossed SG into the air - the coming down shifted the wheels some more and left SG pretty much incapable of movement! Rather than let Surgeon General be counted out or start twitching again, SOR 4.0 pushed it onto the closed pit, then went for the release and watched it drop, before doing a victory dance in the arena centre!
CEASE!
SOR 4.0 GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Next up, the lifter and experience of Achilles against the flipper and speed of Juggerbee 3.0!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
The buzzer starting the fight was followed by a crash as Achilles and Juggerbee 3.0 came together in the arena centre - Juggerbee 3.0 turned into Achilless side, but Achilles turned too and they ended up parallel to each other! Juggerbee 3.0 did a reverse swerve to try and attack, but again Achilles also turned and a head on crash resulted! Juggerbee 3.0 ended up running up Achilless low plate, and it pushed, until Achilles activated its arm and lifted its wheels off the ground! For a while they stood there, until Achilles carried its prey towards the arena disc! With Juggerbee 3.0 hooked on Achilles, both robots spun away from the impact, but only Juggerbee 3.0 took a scratch! However, Juggerbee 3.0 was shaken loose and started slipping down, so Achilles quickly pinned it on its side against the wall. But this allowed Juggerbee 3.0 to run along the wall into a corner, the impact knocking it off the wall onto its back! Reversing at the advancing 25th seed, Juggerbee 3.0 turned, causing Achilles to run past it, then aimed to get its flipper under the unskirted rear! But Achilles turned in time, causing the flipper to meet the skirts! Juggerbee 3.0 successfully shoved Achilles into the wall, but the skirts repelled the flipper! Achilles slowly edged out of its attackers grasp and turned into it, but Juggerbee 3.0 was fast enough to escape, then try to get into a position where it could use the flipper! It only ran into Achilless side again and carried it into another wall without getting under, but meeting the wall at a wonky angle turned Achilles around so it could get under Juggerbee 3.0s side and lift again! Deciding not to mess around any more, the 25th seed went for the pit release, then dangled Juggerbee 3.0 over the pit! A bit of shifting and knocking against the wall caused Juggerbee 3.0 to slip into the abyss, and Achilles to gain a heat final spot!
CEASE!
ACHILLES GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Heat E Final:
SOR 4.0 (9) vs Achilles (25)
SOR 4.0 (9) vs Achilles (25)
Crank that flywheel up and try and cause as much external and internal damage as possible. If I cen get under the skirts, give it a few tosses also.
Nice writing once again! :)
I dont really want to know about you tossing Achilles, thank you...
Scott that is minging
Suit yourself, dunno why or how I would do that to his achilles anyway...
Yet another heat final battle between the seeds - SOR 4.0 and Achilles!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
There was another crash in the centre of the arena seconds after the buzzer - SOR 4.0 had turned around to whack Achilles in the front with its flywheel, deflecting it, then reversed to hit it in the side! It followed Achilles again, but only glanced it as Achilles moved! Outrunning SOR 4.0, Achilles got ahead, then turned and ran back towards it, trying to turn into its side, but the disc grazed its side as it did so and it was knocked off course again! SOR 4.0 came reversing towards it again, but Achilles just dodged and now brought its arm under the side and hoisted the ninth seed aloft, though not trapping it on the hook! Slowly, it moved SOR 4.0 into the wall and pinned it there, before lowering its arm to try and get the hook under SOR and snag it! SOR 4.0 fired its flipping arm, but didnt quite free itself from Achilless grasp! Once it had its victim caught, the 25th seed quickly moved it into the arena disc, which missed the wheels and didnt do much to the Hardox armour! So Achilles brought SOR 4.0 to the wall again, knocked it a little to get it off the hook, and tried propping it there! But a fire of the arm sent SOR 4.0 away from the wall and back onto the arena floor - it aimed to attack Achilless side, but Achilles turned and they met head on instead!
A pushing match ensued, which resulted in Achilles pushing SOR 4.0 backwards! It began lifting, but it wasnt under the wedge enough, and SOR 4.0 quickly dropped off and swerved in reverse, slashing Achilless side with its disc! Knocked around, Achilles charged the ninth seed, only to get a faceful of disc! SOR 4.0 then tried to get under the slightly battered Achilles, but again Achilles outran it, and as both robots tried turning into each other, they ended up parallel! They turned around together, until Achilless plate slipped under the side of SOR 4.0, and the arm lifted SORs wheels off the ground! SOR 4.0 could only go where Achilles wanted to take it - and that was to the pit release! However, it was close enough to the wall to fire its arm, which pushed Achilles back and SOR 4.0 further up Achilless body, but sadly, not enough to escape! Within seconds, the former champion was resting in the open pit, and Achilles had improved its VFT record again!
CEASE!
ACHILLES GOES THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!
Next time on VFT6, eleventh seed Flipping Mad TU will try to send Stinger, Tsunami 2 and Wedga Revo into the unknown!
And 27th seed Wedge Devolution will try to de-evolve Blizzard, Glasgow Kiss and Happy Birthday Party Pooper!
Who was right? I was right! :proud:
HEAT F
ROUND 1
1) Flipping Mad TU (11) VS Stinger VS Tsunami VS Wedga Revo
Ill pick Stinger to be dumped doon the Pit and Tsunami to lose gas before the other two flippers and end up topsey-turvey
2) Blizzard VS Glasgow Kiss VS Happy Birthday, Party Pooper! VS WEDGE DEVOLUTION (27)
Ive been wondering when Id make my glorious return :proud:
Simple tictacs here: flip whoever gets in the way before eventually shoving them down the Pit! Fancy an All-Scot team-up, Mr Anderson?
Supoib stuff as per usual, Richie :)
Ouch, another heat loss. I hope SOR wont be seeded next time now...
Flipping Mad TU vs Stinger vs Tsunami 2 vs Wedga Revo
First of all, I think Im teaming up with Dave in this battle... correct?
Ill first concentrate on pushing Stinger around with my scoop and Ill try to bash it down the pit. Then onto Tsunami, I believe it uses high pressure has, so I should have more flips, and if I team up with Flipping Mad hopefully we can make it run out of gas and Ill dump it in the pit too. What do you say Mr Sheppard?
Im up for an All-Scot Attack, Stevie-Boy!
Ill take out Alex, while you take out Marty :proud:
Ill get some axe blows to try and jam up the weird moving system, while Stevey flips Marty around :proud:
*gives dirty looks to steven*
i shall spin up and attack anyone who gets in my way
You can no more jamm it than you can jamm a heavily armoured axlebot. Go for the lighest armour and outpush them.
Andy, this could possibly be the last VFT, as Im hopefully going to uni next year and I may have limited access to computers. But if there is a VFT7, SOR probably will be seeded, as the heat final is a decent place to get to and its one of VFTs golden oldies.
Welcome to VFT6 - were now well underway with the heats, so lets keep it up, and begin Heat F!
Eleventh seed Flipping Mad TU has a good record in VFT, reaching the top 16 twice! In its last time, VFT5, its predecessor beat Hell Fire and Code 14 with its flipper, to make it past the heat, but lost a close 32-28 decision against Tempest Evil-oution in the semis! Once a walker, Flipping Mad TU is now a wheeler, and a box wedge. Its weapon is a flipping arm split in two - the front half flips, and the rear half selfrights, aided with a fixed ski! Flipping Mad TU uses skid steering for manouverability, has thick armour and excellent acceleration, but it also has a high ground clearance, so it will try to make a flipping unknown with vacuums that hold it to the floor!
27th seed Wedge Devolution is a golden oldie of VFT - it made its debut in VFT5, replacing veteran Wedge 1, but only made it to Round 2 where the speed and power of Hypertension left it in the pit! This Spawn Again-like wedge robot has a rear hinged flipper, with the blade bent at the end to help getting under lower opponents, and the blade can be replaced with a triangular plate for full body spinners! The flipper can comfortably lift a tonne, and Wedge Devolution has skirts to stop itself falling foul of flippers, but there is the age-old problem of limited CO2!
Blizzard is one of VFTs most original robots - Alex Holt clearly isnt frozen to new ideas! Its basically two screws lying parallel to each other, and move by turning - Blizzard can move forwards, backwards and sideways, at a decent 15mph! For weaponry, it has spinning weapons to twist into opponentss armour, but it mainly uses the huge traction that the screws generate! However, one thing this design cant do is turn easily - Blizzard has a turning circle of 3m, just short of Elevens small-swimming-pool turning circle!
Glasgow Kiss, described as a spiritual replacement to VFT5 Round 1 loser Axe Murderer, is shaped like an unevenly squashed oval (from above) and attacks with a double headed axe that wont be as nice as getting a snog when it hits you! The axe can also selfright the robot, and it has tough 7mm titanium armour, but it also has no skirts, although the tie-dye colouring on the armour may confuse robots enough for Glasgow Kiss to kill them before they kill it!
Happy Birthday Party Pooper was a wheeled ring spinner in VFT5, where it reached Round 2 to find itself being whacked around and immobilised by Dervish Quatro! Now its become MDU-esque - a 150kg invertable walker, with a 65kg 1500rpm spinning shell, with 12 teeth divided around it, which has frightening damage potential! HBPP isnt too fast at 10mph, and its easy to push if the weapon stops, but if the weapon doesnt, other robots may still be repairing themselves on their birthdays!
Stinger has entered VFT for the first time after a good record in RW - it came 3rd in Series 4 and has reached two heat finals since then, beating robots like Bulldog Breed, Panic Attack and Fluffy! The problem for opponents is its axlebot design - two wheels, with the components inside them, and a long spiked stick weapon that comes down painfully when Stinger stops! Its impossible for flippers to overturn (although not to OOTA, but you cant do that in VFT), and difficult to attack in other ways, or keep a hold of! Of course, Stingers design also means control can be a problem!
Tsunami 2 didnt get far at all when it entered VFT5, pitted by Killotine Evo in Round 1, but this German robot does have a good record in RW, making the heat final after a series of OOTAs, before X Terminator smashed it! Tsunami 2 is a simple, compact robot with a powerful flipper that also acts as a srimech - will that flipper wash opponents away this time?
And Wedga Revo is another robot returning after VFT5 - in Round 2, it was stopped by eventual champ The Disc 2, who disabled its flipper and then overturned it and left it to die! Wedga Revo is now a cut off wedge like Steg 2, with a scoop that the titanium lifting arm rests inside for protection - the arm produces 540kg of force when it flips, which wont be any fun for the robot its underneath! Wedga Revo is also a good pusher, producing 18hp on six wheels, is skirted, and turns well with skid steering, although not as well as a two wheeled robot!
The first melee is almost an all flipper affair - Flipping Mad TU, Tsunami 2 and Wedga Revo, along with axlebot Stinger!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Flipping Mad TU and Wedga Revo both aimed at Stinger, who began spinning on the spot as Tsunami 2 went for Flipping Mad TU. Flipping Mad TU turned away into Tsunami 2, managing to slip its extension plate underneath then run the arm underneath and get in the first flip of the match! Tsunami 2 landed on its wheels and retreated from Flipping Mad TU, while Wedga Revo was knocked by the spinning Stinger, who then ran into its side and brought the spike down! But Wedga Revo was easily able to move itself, bring Stinger into the scoop and try shoving it into the wall! Stinger began to escape, so Wedga Revo fired its arm, glancing Stinger and sending it tumbling to one side! The axlebot spun again as Wedga Revo advanced again, but Wedga flipped it again, towards the pit area! Meanwhile, Tsunami 2 had managed to reach the side of Flipping Mad TU, who turned on its vacuums, so it was sent up in the air by Tsunamis flip, then straight back down! Tsunami tried flipping again but almost overturned itself! So it just tried to slowly shove Flipping Mad TU towards the pit, straining! Wedga Revo saw this and came to the rescue, attacking Tsunami 2 from behind, flipping and making it bounce off Flipping Mad, onto its back! As the 11th seed started moving again, Stinger went for Tsunami 2 as it selfrighted, hammering it, forcing Tsunami 2 to turn and retaliate, but Stinger was already away!
Unfortunately for Tsunami 2, Flipping Mad TU and Wedga Revo were both approaching from behind! Tsunami 2 was quickly captured by Wedga Revo and flipped, and it rolled towards the pit! Wedga Revo immediately went for the pit release as Tsunami 2 selfrighted, only for Flipping Mad TU to try and shove it in, while Stinger was following and hammering it! Tsunami 2 moved away then tried to pit Flipping Mad, who just got its plate underneath again, shoved Tsunami 2 against the wall and began trying to turn it towards the pit. But Tsunami 2 got off and ran into Flipping Mads side and flipped it upwards! Flipping Mad turned on its vacuums again, but ended up attaching itself to Tsunami 2, tilting the other robot off the ground! With both robots stuck, Stinger could gleefully try to pit them both, but failed, so just got in a bash - then suddenly had to defend itself as Wedga Revo aimed to pit it! As it rolled off the scoop, Wedga Revo tried flipping it towards the pit! Landing on the edge, Stinger started running, but Wedga Revo quickly gave it a shove! Stinger dangled precariously over the edge - and the pit closed before it could fall in! Wedga Revo flipped it against the wall in frustration!
With the pit closed, Flipping Mad TU turned off its vacuums for fear of being counted out, causing Tsunami 2 to touch the ground and begin running it towards the release! Flipping Mad fired its arm to try and nudge itself off Tsunami 2, only for Tsunami to give it a flip onto its back! Flipping Mad quickly selfrighted, moved a little to show its mobility, then turned the vacuums on, causing Tsunami to misflip and overturn itself! Originally going for the release to pit Stinger, Wedga Revo rushed in to try and attack, throwing Tsunami 2 over Flipping Mad TU so it could move again, pinning Tsunami 2 against the wall after it selfrighted! Stinger came in on Flipping Mad TUs side, attacking but not causing much damage, but Wedga Revo hit the release and rushed in to shove it! Stinger rolled off again and whacked Wedga Revo in the side after it mistimed a flip - meanwhile, Flipping Mad TU manouvered the helpless Tsunami 2 to the pit and finally eliminated it! Wedga Revo and Stinger were both turning around together, so Flipping Mad TU came in to help, aiming for Stinger! Stinger reversed but was caught on the 11th seeds arm and flipped away! Wedga Revo chased Stinger, got the arm under and flipped it, but the pit was already closed, and as Wedga Revo went for it again, Stinger spun on one wheel to escape - and went right into Flipping Mad TU, who also tossed it! This allowed Wedga Revo to slam Stinger against the wall again, then flip it as it tried to escape! Flipping Mad TU pursued Stinger, who retreated, then rolled off Wedga Revos charge and ran into Flipping Mads side to give it a whacking! As Wedga Revo came in again, Stinger dodged so it hit Flipping Mad TU instead and almost propelled it into the wall, allowing Stinger to give it a sting in the rear! Wedga Revo reversed and knocked Stinger aside - the axlebot went for Flipping Mad TU but was caught by Wedga Revo and given another glancing flip, which took it onto Flipping Mad TUs rear! Rolling off, it hit Flipping Mad TU in the side as time ran out!
CEASE!
Aggression: FMTU - 3, Stinger - 3, Wedga - 4 (Wedga was the most aggressive, while Stinger had moments of retreating and FMTU played defensive with its vacuums)
Damage: FMTU - 1, Stinger - 8, Wedga - 1 (not much damage in this fight - Stingers weapon caused the most, while FMTU and Wedga get marks for scuffs caused by the flipping)
Strategy: FMTU - 5, Stinger - 2, Wedga - 3 (FMTU had the most strategy, using its vacuums and the pit - Wedga also used the pit, while Stinger just attacked with little strategy)
Control: FMTU - 4, Stinger - 2, Wedga - 4 (FMTU and Wedga had good control, while Stingers was a little iffy)
Style: FMTU - 3, Stinger - 3, Wedga - 4 (FMTU and Wedgas flips were stylish, but Wedga got in more, and Stingers spinning and whacking also had some style)
Dominance: FMTU - 3, Stinger - 3, Wedga - 4 (Wedga did the most attacking and flipping, while Stinger attacked but was knocked about a bit, and FMTU was just using its vacuums and not attacking at some moments)
Final Score: Flipping Mad TU - 19, Stinger - 21, Wedga Revo - 20
Flipping Mad TU and Tsunami 2 are eliminated!
STINGER AND WEDGA REVO GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
More varied in Melee 2 - flipper Wedge Devolution, screwbot Blizzard (I invented a new word!), axer Glasgow Kiss and spinner Happy Birthday Party Pooper!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Wedge Devolution went rushing towards Happy Birthday Party Pooper, who scuttled away to get its shell spinning, while Blizzard screwed towards Wedge Devolution but was intercepted by Glasgow Kiss! Glasgow Kiss began axing the screw, as Blizzard turned to sideways movement and shoved it back! Meanwhile, Wedge Devolution had brought its blade under HBPP and flipped, being spun away but tilting HBPP and sending it bouncing into the arena disc, slowing the disc down as HBPP continued to bounce! It began stabilising, but Wedge Devolution came straight under and threw it into the wall, making it bounce off as the arena vibrated, so the 27th seed could just flip again! Its shell slowed, HBPP rolled on its side for a moment before coming down on its legs, and Wedge Devolution thrust it into the wall! HBPP scuttled off the wedge but tilted on the side, its legs going in midair! Meanwhile, Blizzard had taken Glasgow Kiss right into the wall, before trying to turn and use its weapons, but Glasgow Kiss easily dodged and came in at the rear to try axing between the screws - it failed to jam them, and Blizzard just carried on pushing! It suddenly moved forward towards the pit release, causing Glasgow Kiss to follow and go for its sides! Wedge Devolution took advantage of the now open pit, taking Happy Birthday Party Pooper round in a curved path and with a spectacular flip, bouncing it into the pit!
Now the 27th seed could turn its attention to Blizzard, who was shoving fellow Scot Glasgow Kiss around towards the pit as well! Wedge Devolution moved towards Blizzards other side, only for Blizzard to come forward and glance the Hardox with its spinners! Surviving with scratches, Wedge Devolution got to the other side and overturned Blizzard onto Glasgow Kiss! Glasgow Kiss began running Blizzard towards the pit, but the pit closed and Blizzard quickly screwed its way off, then tried to bring the spinners into Glasgow Kiss as well, who dodged! Wedge Devolution opened the pit again, but Blizzard was already on its way out of the zone! Both Scottish Vapours chased it, Wedge Devolution managing to catch up and throw it against the wall, then start flipping it towards the pit, but again the pit closed! The problem was quickly solved when Glasgow Kiss pressed the release - Wedge Devolution intercepted Blizzards attempt to escape, throwing it against the north wall, then back towards the pit! On the edge, Blizzard started coming away, only for Wedge Devolution to give it a flip straight up, and then straight down, onto HBPP and out of the battle!
CEASE!
Blizzard and Happy Birthday Party Pooper are eliminated!
WEDGE DEVOLUTION AND GLASGOW KISS GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Heat F, Round 2:
Wedge Devolution (27) vs Wedga Revo
Glasgow Kiss vs Stinger
Grr! Stupid Stinger!
Woot :proud:!Tactics against Stinger: Pin with axe and move towards pit.
Woo! Go us! :proud:
HEAT F
ROUND 2
1) Wedga Revo VS WEDGE DEVOLUTION (27)
Wedga may have the more push, but Ive got the more powerful flipper, the better armouring and possibly the better skirting (FYI Richie, mine are just normal springs. Nowt special :proud:)
Tactics here are to get under the sides or rear (I doubt my spatula will have too much trouble getting beneath) and chuck Wedga over. Once inverted, itll be a case of sliding underneath again and slamming it into the Arena Disc a few times to munch up the titanium shell. Once suitably scarred, keep it on its back and then cast it into the Pit
2) Glasgow Kiss VS Stinger
Glasgow Kiss to grapple the axlebot and drag it to its dooooom
So this could be the last VFT, eh? Well, Im sure youll go out on a real high, Richie :). Oh and if I dont taste victory THIS time, you WILL be hunted down :proud:
Sad to hear this might be the last one Richard. But at the end of the day your education is much better than writing battles for vapourbots and setting fire to your keyboard... nah
Wedge Devolution (27) vs Wedga Revo
Right, first things first Wedge Devo is going to find it very hard to get under Wedga Revos 360o skirting, especially if it is constantly moving around.
With my powerful drive and super low scoop and flipping plate however I should be able to easily slide under and toss the Scotbot onto its back with ease. And if the skirts are only just normal springs it should make my job even easier! :proud:
Also, if you look at the flipper stats I have 3.3kg of gas on board and Wedge Devo has none. :lame:
Wedge Devolution also runs on a much higher gas pressure, and uses two rams that gives me loads more flips for the fight. Im also going to be saving my flips at the start and just do some general hitting and running and pushing. Then Ill start throwing it about, make it run out of gas and hopefully end up ramming it into the arena disc or the pit.
Good luck my old friend, looks like a cracking upcoming battle! :proud: Just write another one of those fantastic fights Rich-o!
Read about this possibly being the last VFT. Its a shame really, as I really like this tourny. I hope there IS a VFT7, as it would make sense to end this on the same series they ended Robot Wars, but its your choice.
Im still up for writing again. Maybe Ill do something special over the winter holidays. If VFT ends, which is fine, I might be looking at drawing from the crowds.
This is likely going to be my last competition entrance, which is why Im so picky about getting in 100% complete final versions of both my entries.
Do you have similar feelings as Andrew Marchants mum towards Stinger, Chris?
I cant say for absolute certain that this will be the last VFT (I just expect the A2 exams and university will be a busy time) but if it is, Ill try to carry on giving you a good one!
Round 2, and we have two rather similar robots with similar names - Wedge Devolution and Wedga Revo - about to fight! Hope you can tell whos who!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Wedge Devolution and Wedga Revo entered the arena centre and turned into each others sides, turning around together, pushing against the others skirts! This went on for a while, with the faster Wedge seeming to come more into Wedgas side, until the spatula just slid under the left skirt! With a push, Wedge Devolution was underneath, and with a flip, Wedga Revo was in the air, and on its back! Wedga selfrighted, just as Wedge ran into its skirt again and began struggling to get under. Pushing Wedga around in a circle, the 27th seed eventually got under the skirt again and forcibly overturned the unseeded flipper! This time, Wedga failed to selfright quickly enough to stop Wedge Devolution capturing it, and then rushing it to the arena disc and flipping it on top of it! Again, Wedge chased Wedga after its deflection and caught it as it righted itself, then pinned it against the wall! Wedga started wheeling off, so Wedge Devolution just flipped it into a corner! When Wedga Revo tried to selfright, it bumped against the wall, making it easy meat for Wedge, who caught it again, ran it along to the disc and flipped it onto it again! The baseplate of Wedga Revo hit the disc and a wheel was nicked, but both survived! Wedga bounced off Wedge Devolution, who missed a flip, and found itself safely on its wheels again!
Wedga Revo immediately ran towards Wedge Devolutions exposed side - the 27th seed turned to escape, but Wedga still collided with its right side and shoved it mercilessly into the arena disc, making it ricochet off! This left Wedge facing Wedgas side, and it raced to attack! Managing to catch Wedga Revos right side, it used its superior speed to bring itself round, pushing viciously against the skirt until finally, it slid under and gave Wedga another flip into the arena disc! Bouncing off, Wedga came down on its slanted rear, and rested there for a moment before falling onto its back, but this bought Wedge Devolution enough time to catch it and flip it towards the corner before a selfright could occur! Landing with its rear to the wall again, Wedga Revo selfrighted, its front touching the wall and holding its wheels off the floor, so Wedge could get under again with no trouble at all! Deciding Wedga Revo was suitably scarred with its scratched armour, Wedge Devolution proceeded to run it to the pit release, then bring it towards the pit! Activating its flipper, it sent Wedga Revo flying towards the pit - Wedga Revo hit the floor, and did a bouncing roll into oblivion!
CEASE!
WEDGE DEVOLUTION GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
On the other hand, our other two are perfectly different - Glasgow Kiss and Stinger!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Glasgow Kiss came straight towards Stinger like Killerhurtz in the Northern Annihilator Round 2 (anyone remember that?) and sent it rolling to one side, missing with the axe! Stinger regained itself and came into Glasgow Kisss side, bringing its spike onto the axe base! Glasgow Kiss fired the axe again to knock Stinger away, then brought the axe back and brought it down again to try and trap the axlebot, but it came along Stingers width and the real robot could slip out, then run onto Glasgow Kisss front and whack the titanium, having little effect! Glasgow Kiss was forced to reverse to get it off, and Stinger began spinning! Pausing uncertainly, Glasgow Kiss brought its axe back and rammed Stinger, earning a little dent in its armour and a disoriented Stinger! Reversing to attack, Glasgow Kiss brought its axe away again to then swing it onto Stinger and grapple its axle! Stinger couldnt escape, and Glasgow Kiss dragged it straight to the pit release! Reversing, it directed Stinger to the pit! Stinger tried turning to get away, but Glasgow Kiss brought some of its body over the pit to ensure the axlebot would not avoid a plummet out of VFT6 - and once the axe was released (with Glasgow Kiss doing a little bounce and almost going down itself) Stinger didnt!
CEASE!
GLASGOW KISS GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Heat F Final:
Wedge Devolution (27) vs Glasgow Kiss
Wot, no tactics? Well, heres the heat final anyway.
The heat final - a battle of the Scots! Will celebratory bagpipes be playing for Wedge Devolution or Glasgow Kiss?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
In the often occurring meeting in the arena centre, Wedge Devolution went to get under the side of Glasgow Kiss, as the axe hit the top of its flipper! Seconds later, Glasgow Kiss was tossed onto its back! The axe quickly turned it over, but Wedge attacked from the rear and pinned it against the wall! They waited there for a few seconds before Wedge carried Glasgow Kiss in a circle and then flipped it into the arena disc! A front wheel was hit and scratched a little, while the 7mm titanium was only grazed! Landing to one side of Wedge Devolution, Glasgow Kiss ran into it, but Wedge also turned so they were almost parallel, although Glasgow Kiss could still rain down axe blows on the 27th seeds top! That is, until Wedges spatula went under the side again and spectacularly inverted Glasgow Kiss again, then charged it into the disc as it was selfrighting so the underbelly was left with an ugly scratch! Still on its back after being deflected, Glasgow Kiss overturned itself, but not before Wedge Devolution came under it again and rammed it into the wall! Glasgow Kiss tried wheeling off but was left with all its wheels in the air, and a third introduction to the disc soon followed, just missing the axe base and continuing to ruin the lovely paint job!
Again, Glasgow Kiss landed to one side of Wedge Devolution, and this time was close enough to run directly into the side and axe away happily, the axe going over the flipper and hitting the right side! After some rather uneffective attacking, Glasgow Kiss left its axe in place and began trying to drag Wedge Devolution towards the pit! Wedge wouldnt have that - it fired its flipper, knocking the axe back and tilting Glasgow Kiss, so it could be flipped towards the arena disc again! Glasgow Kiss landed just short, on its back, but it glanced the disc while selfrighting, and turned to meet Wedge Devolution head on! In the brief push and shove, Wedge edged Glasgow Kiss into the disc and sent it spinning off, then advanced to meet it head on again! Once Glasgow Kiss had been shoved against the wall, Wedges spatula was able to just come under the front and the flipper was able to do its job! Wedge just had to turn to capture Glasgow Kiss as it selfrighted, then carry it, like its previous opponents, to the pit release! Glasgow Kisss axe flailed wildly as it tried to knock itself off, but to no avail, as Wedge Devolution tried a stylish finish by flipping it into the pit! Glasgow Kiss landed just short but still on its back. Wedge Devolution came to ram it in as it was selfrighting - Glasgow Kiss was pushed enough to go down, while Wedge ran too far, got its left side over the pit and fell in as well! But Glasgow Kiss had gone into the pit first, so Wedge Devolution would be going into the semis and trying to reclaim its old reputation!
CEASE!
WEDGE DEVOLUTION GOES THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!
Next time in VFT6, 13th seed Scottishly Fictional will try to make hopes of beating Baldur, Overkill and Srimech Not Included factual!
And 29th seed Wheely Pure Evil 2 will try to perform some wheely huge flips on Deep Impact 2, Revenge Of Revenge Of The Bludgeonator and Seggy The Third!
Set-up choice -
Im thinking the drum to ram into the sides or rear ends to flip then over.
Tactics? You didnt really give us much of a chance, Richie :lame:. But who really cares? WOOOOOOOOOOO! :proud:
HEAT G
ROUND 1
1) Baldur VS Overkill VS Scottishly Fictional (13) VS Srimech Not Included
Ill pick Mr Anderson to pit the Battlebot and Baldur to tip over Martys rammer
2) Deep Impact 2 VS REVENGE OF THE REVENGE OF THE BLUDGEONATOR VS Seggy the Third VS Wheely Pure Evil 2 (29)
Quite a mouthful there :proud:
For this bout, RotRotB will slip under Deep Impact from the side n rear (easy with my dustpan shape) and will simply bash it to oblivion. The 2 mil polycarb should be no problem to the hammer and since 2mm Hardox doesnt exist, I think its safe to say that some major harm is going to be caused to Mr Robinsons creation
After that, dart around and hammer whoever comes nearest.
Super wooty stuff as always, Richie! :)
Dissapointed, time to add the sprung skirts. :proud:
Keep up the good work as always! :)
I think Ill use the drum in this battle to chew at Overkills wheels and pit it, then hit Mattys rammer and pit it.
Welcome to VFT6 - so far, weve had six heats, which have seen Manic Monsoon, Tempest Evil-er-ution, Psyclone, Achilles, Wedge Devolution and Orka Mk3 become semifinalists! Now Heat G will make another one!
13th seed Scottishly Fictional used its advantages of push and speed to make the top 16 of VFT5, eliminating such robots as Sheer Hell and Typhoon 2, before it was blown away by Windyer Killer! While its Storm 2-like invertable body remains, Scottishly Fictional now has interchanagable scoops - a concave one with a 5kg spinning disc, and a 20mm titanium one with a mace on a chain at the rear! Its still very fast at 20mph, although it has no skirts, so could be in trouble if any flippers can catch up with it!
29th seed Wheely Pure Evil 2 entered VFT5 and made Round 2, where after a titanic battle with Son Of Ripper 3.5, it lost the 32-28 decision! This second version of Wheely Pure Evil is still an invertable wedge, and it still has two very powerful flippers able to flip 2500kg each, but one flipper is now on the underside of the robot, so both can still be fired at the same time for a super flip! As well as side skirts for use against other flippers, WPE2 flies along at 18mph, but it has a high 1cm ground clearance at the back, and its wheels are exposed to axes on top!
Baldur is a reversed cut off wedge with the front curved into a scoop - the scoop can get under a good percentage of skirts, and fitted into it is a lifting arm, more a tipper than a flipper as it may not be able to overturn robots with a wide base, but can still lift 250kg pretty quickly! Baldur also claims to be almost indestructible, with 6mm titanium kevlar armour broken into triangles for extra strength! The pushing power is good, and it has skid steering, but like its sibling Achilles, it has no damaging weaponry!
Deep Impact 2 hopes to cause as much damage to its opposition as a meteor strike - this low invertable wedge has two vertical discs at the rear, which can flip opponents as well as damage them! Deep Impact 2 is fairly well armoured, and pretty fast at 18mph, but if flipped, the discs will be running downwards and wont be as effective!
Overkill is a VFT veteran, having fought in three previous ones - out in Round 1 of VFT2, heat finalist electrified by Electro in VFT3, and slammed around by Tammy The 2nd in Round 2 of VFT4! Even better is its record in Battlebots - beaten by Biohazard in the final of BB4, and came joint 3rd in two others! Overkill may have a simple design - a wedge with two big tyres and a swinging blade - but it has some serious shove and is hard to immobilise! But the blade doesnt do much damage to most opponents, and while the tyres are tough, a powerful spinner could leave Overkill re-tyred!
Revenge Of Revenge Of The Bludgeonator may have the longest name in VFT6, but it doesnt have the longest record - beaten by a very close 13-12 decision against SvIV in Round 2 of VFT4! ROROTB is now a dustpan shaped robot, like BB middleweight S.O.B, but instead of a saw on an arm, robots caught in the dustpan will face a nitrogen powered hammer! The hammer also has spikes on the side, so if it fails, ROROTB will spin to try and carry on damaging! The axe will selfright the machine, but could the power send it bouncing off the floor and out of control?
Seggy The Third, now in its third VFT, made it to its heat final of VFT4 but was pitted by Bad Karma Bites Back and Flaming Hell in VFT5 Round 1! Seggy is a semi invertable box (wheel guards on top are able to move when its flipped) - it has rear spikes, side roll over bars, and interchangable weaponry that includes an invertable lifting arm, a vertical drum, a horizontal spinning bar, two blades with adjustable heights, a spike, passive scoops and an anti spinner scoop that flexes backwards when hit! Seggy also has skirts, so no more high ground clearance - will it be third time lucky?
And Srimech Not Included has a pretty obvious weakness - no srimech! But this Beta-shaped robot may not need one, with skirts all over it to keep away troublesome flippers! Using tracks for power, it attacks with ramming force, and its 25mm lexiguard will help against spinners, but will it be in trouble in the Damage category of a judges decision with no weapons?
In the first four way melee, Scottishly Fictional, Baldur, Overkill and Srimech Not Included are about to indulge in some rather violent playtime!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Scottishly Fictional, Baldur and Srimech Not Included all headed for Overkill, who turned its attention to Srimech Not Included! Scottishly Fictional reached it first, caught it side on and slammed it into the wall, nicking the tyres with its disc and pushing Overkill up onto its body! Overkill rolled off, ending up on SNI, who pushed it back onto Scottishly Fictional, who was being shoved on the other side by Baldur! After a brief push and shove, Baldur lifted Scottishly Fictional, sliding Overkill down onto SNI! Overkill swung its blade but did little to SNI, who shoved it away towards the pit release while Baldur pinned Scottishly Fictional against the wall! Overkill worked its way off SNI and began spinning to hit it with the blade - SNI was unaffected and continued to pressure it, going for the side again and trying to push it round to the release, but Overkill managed to keep evading it! Meanwhile, Baldur pinned Scottishly Fictional for a few moments, until it got bored and took it across the arena, bashing it against the west wall! Scottishly Fictional was knocked and landed on its side, but quickly toppled onto its back! Baldur turned to attack, but the 13th seed just managed to escape, then reverse into its side and show it how it feels to be pinned! The pin only lasted for a few moments before Scottishly Fictional went to join Overkill and Srimech Not Included, who were still tussling!
Srimech Not Included now reversed into the pit release, and Overkill turned to try and get under Scottishly Fictional, who ran over the wedge and brought its disc into the tyre, tilting Overkill while SNI hit it from the other side! SNI pushed past Scottishly Fictional and tried to ram Overkill to the pit, but found Baldur rushing into its side and giving it a good shove, which took it into the wall and surpassed the skirt! Srimech Not Included was lifted, but not enough to go over! Scottishly Fictional came in from one side to try and knock SNI, but Baldur got in the way so the disc couldnt reach it! Overkill attacked from the other side, managing to shove Baldur so SNI tilted towards it, until SNI fell onto Overkills wedge, still right side up! Baldur turned fast and came under both robots to shove them to the now closed pit, while Scottishly Fictional shoved from behind Baldur! All four competitors ended up over the pit, crushed together, but SNI managed to use its tracks to run tank-style over Baldur, almost tipping over as it went down the side onto the floor! It headed for the pit release, but Scottishly Fictional broke away and rammed into its side, nicking the armour but also running up the side with its inverted scoop, allowing SNI to turn and shove it to the pit release! Baldur also moved, still holding Overkill off the ground, and went to slam it, but Overkill fell off the arm as they went, and spun to whack Baldur, before rushing back towards Scottishly Fictional and SNI, with Baldur in hot pursuit!
Once Srimech Not Included pressed the pit release, Scottishly Fictional used its wheels touching its attackers armour to run over it, but SNI reversed before it could escape and began taking it to the open pit! On the way, Overkill appeared and ran into them, knocking Scottishly Fictional loose! The 13th seed ran over Overkills wedge - straight into the clutches of Baldur, who shoved it right into the pit! Overkill ran into Baldur to try and pit it as well, but SNI came in from behind and Overkill had to wheel away to avoid being pitted itself, allowing Baldur to run away. It then ran back into SNI to shove it down, but the pit closed before they were there. Still, it could bring SNI into the pit corner and lift it again, still failing to flip! Overkill took advantage of this by running for the pit release, so Baldur reversed, and SNI just managed to avoid the pit! But it could not avoid Baldur running it against the wall, sliding under the skirts again and dumping it down!
CEASE!
Scottishly Fictional and Srimech Not Included are eliminated!
BALDUR AND OVERKILL GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
And now Wheely Pure Evil 2, Deep Impact 2, Revenge Of Revenge Of The Bludgeonator and Seggy The Third (using a drum) will decide who goes through, the only way they know how!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Wheely Pure Evil 2 went for ROROTB, who headed towards Deep Impact 2, who whipped around and went for WPE2, while Seggy The Third just headed for all the others as they came together! Deep Impact 2s discs struck WPE2, only for the flippers to go underneath them and throw! Deep Impact 2 bounced off and ROROTB went to follow, but Seggy hit it in the side and knocked it onto WPE2, causing it to go flying as well! As WPE2 was tilted upward by the flip, Seggy attacked it and hit with the drum, almost turning it over - it took another blow from the drum to do that, and WPE2 reversed away, before coming back! They met head on, and WPE2 flipped Seggy over from under the drum, making it a hattrick! Meanwhile, ROROTB had selfrighted, and turned to embrace Deep Impact 2 in its scoop, bringing the hammer down and cracking the polycarbonate just as the discs struck again and knocked Deep Impact 2 out! Deep Impact 2, being faster, beat a hasty retreat, then ran back towards WPE2 with ROROTB following, until Seggy managed to intercept it and tilt it, propping it onto its body! As ROROTB was being shoved, it fired its hammer and knocked itself off, taking a hit from the drum in the process, but quickly catching Seggy in the scoop, then hammering the steel armour!
Meanwhile, WPE2 had been bounced backward by Deep Impact 2s discs, but just got under them again and flipped the threat away! It then ran towards ROROTB, who was occupied with pinning Seggy The Third against the wall and smashing the steel triangles! It tried to escape WPE2s advance, but not quickly enough, as it was overturned with style, and Seggy was released - to ungratefully whack WPE2 out of the way so it could pressure the selfrighted ROROTB! Deep Impact 2 took the oppotunity to hit WPE2 in the rear, tilting it forwards so it could be propped against the wall! The flipper quickly sorted that problem, pushing Deep Impact 2 back and bringing WPE2 under the discs once again - what followed was another painful throw! Seggy, meanwhile, was using its drum to knock ROROTB towards the arena disc - before they got there, ROROTB used its hammer to bounce itself off, and Seggy just missed taking a hammer blow! The two robots began running around each other, until WPE2 joined the action, tossing ROROTB, and taking a hit from Seggy a moment later! Deep Impact 2 rushed back in, and was knocked off course by Seggys drum! WPE2 then got under Seggy and flipped it over, bringing the skirts back into play, and then received a side on blow from Deep Impact 2, who dodged another flip and hit the side again, slashing the 29th seeds armour!
Meanwhile, ROROTB was in trouble - it was facing the wall, so when it selfrighted, it propped itself against it! It fired its hammer again to bring itself down, and then returned to attack the other robots. Deep Impact 2 was exposed, and was quickly caught in the scoop - the discs glanced ROROTB and only knocked Deep Impact 2 onto the dustpan sides, where it was trapped and ready to be hammered! One blow turned Deep Impact 2 over, onto the hammer, so when the hammer went again, it threw Deep Impact 2 over its back, with unsightly dents in its armour! ROROTB reversed to try and push Deep Impact 2, who just knocked it with the discs, towards the advancing WPE2 and Seggy The Third! ROROTB found itself being tossed off again by WPE2, who was then hit by Deep Impact 2, who in turn was hit by Seggy, and then caught by ROROTB again! The hammer came down around the wheels, making more cracked polycarbonate, before Seggy hit ROROTB in the side and knocked Deep Impact 2 loose! Unfortunately, Deep Impact 2 took another hammer hit in the wedge as it ran, swiveling around to hit Seggy! WPE2 rejoined the fun, flipping ROROTB over again, then following it, catching it on its wedge and taking it towards the arena disc! As it went, Deep Impact 2 and Seggy interrupted by reversing into the 29th seed, freeing ROROTB, who rammed into Seggy and started the hammer treatment, only for WPE2 to turn around and flip it again! Seggy went after ROROTB this time, whacking it against the wall, while WPE2 caught Deep Impact 2 in the rear again, flipped it, and sent it bouncing off the arena disc! Deep Impact 2 landed on the floor and found itself only able to move in a circle - the damage caused by ROROTB and the arena disc had damaged its internals! It was easy prey for WPE2, who flipped it again and sent it bouncing off the wall, while Seggy was still keeping ROROTB against the wall! Time finally ran out on this action packed and very close melee, with all four robots still mobile!
CEASE!
Aggression: WPE2 - 3, DI2 - 1, ROROTB - 3, Seggy - 3 (DI2 loses points for running away at one point and being half immobilised at the end)
Damage: WPE2 - 2, DI2 - 2, ROROTB - 4, Seggy - 2 (ROROTB caused the most damage with its hammer, while Seggy and DI2 did damage with their spinning weapons and WPE2 used the arena disc to cripple DI2)
Strategy: WPE2 - 1, DI2 - 3, ROROTB - 3, Seggy - 3 (WPE2 didnt have much strategy - the others had more by choosing who they would attack/interchangable weaponry)
Control: WPE2 - 3, DI2 - 1, ROROTB - 3, Seggy - 3 (DI2 also loses points here as it was half immobilised at the end, so wasnt too controlled)
Style: WPE2 - 4, DI2 - 2, ROROTB - 1, Seggy - 3 (WPE2s flipper was the most stylish, ROROTBs hammer was the least stylish, Seggy gets more points for its vertical weaponry attacks as DI2 had some attacks where the discs were running downward so it didnt flip opponents up and wasnt stylish)
Dominance: WPE2 - 3, DI2 - 2, ROROTB - 2, Seggy - 3 (WPE2 and Seggy had the most attacks, while ROROTB didnt get in as many and DI2 was crippled at the end)
Final Score: WPE2 -16, DI2 - 11, ROROTB - 16, Seggy - 17
Seggy The Third definitely through, Deep Impact 2 definitely out, but what about Wheely Pure Evil 2 and Revenge Of Revenge Of The Bludgeonator? They both lead each other in two categories and equaled in two, so well take their scores and multiply em:
Dominance (x 6): WPE2 - 18, ROROTB - 12
Damage (x 5): WPE2 - 10, ROROTB - 20
Aggression (x 4): WPE2 - 12, ROROTB - 12
Control (x 3): WPE2 - 9, ROROTB - 9
Strategy (x 2): WPE2 - 2, ROROTB - 6
Style (x 1): WPE2 - 4, ROROTB - 1
Final Score: WPE2 - 55, ROROTB - 60
Wheely Pure Evil 2 and Deep Impact 2 are eliminated!
REVENGE OF REVENGE OF THE BLUDGEONATOR AND SEGGY THE THIRD GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Heat G, Round 2:
Baldur vs Seggy The Third
Overkill vs Revenge Of Revenge Of The Bludgeonator
Sa-weeeeeeeeeet! :proud:
HEAT G
ROUND 2
1) Baldur VS Seggy the Third
Ill take Seggers to get round Alexs side and dump im in the Pit
2) Overkill VS REVENGE OF THE REVENGE OF THE BLUDGEONATOR
Here, Ill use similar tactics to when Tammy faced this Battlebot - get under it from the sides and hammer the wheels to High Heaven! Failing that, grapple it, shove it into the Arena Disc and then take it to the VFT void :proud:
As always, groovy stuff, Mr S :)...oh and theres TWO thes in RotRotBs name
You know, this heat remindes me of heat K (i think) of series 4. You know, both seeds going out in round 1!
Against Revenge of the robot with the stupidly long name, Overkill will try to get the wedge underneath, the hit it with the blade. Ive little hope for it here, I only entered it because I had to, and its my second fav battlebot.
Wooty fight.
Seggys set-up for round 2 will be the invertible flipping arm, and the main main of attack is to get around the side to get underneath that 3mm ground clearance and keep flipping it, trying to get it onto the wall or into the pit.
Saying nothing, cos Steve knows what my reply would be
Except to say, great fights Richard :)
Thanks for the wootiness! Would have done this a bit sooner, but the batteries on my wireless mouse needed replacing.
With all the seeds gone, were guaranteed an unseeded semifinalist! Will Baldur or Seggy The Third (with an invertable flipping arm) reach the heat final and get the chance to be that semifinalist?

The charge by both robots was followed by a quick turn as each aimed to get under the sides of the other. Being faster, the invertable flipping arm of Seggy The Third met the side of Baldur and it pushed against the low clearance! A moment later, it was under and the arm flicked Baldur up and over! Baldur selfrighted, only for Seggy to crash into its side and shove it in a straight path into the arena disc, which did little to the armour and only sent Baldur spinning away! It quickly turned and charged Seggy, but Seggy was able to catch it in the sides again and invert it! As Baldur was selfrighting, Seggy rammed it into the wall, but it was back on its wheels, so Seggy overturned it against the wall! Baldur fired its arm and came sliding down, but with its rear facing the wall, it couldnt get back over, allowing Seggy to watch its struggling in bemusement! After a while, Seggy moved into the arena centre and did a victory spin for the crowd - but it wasnt victory yet, as once 30 seconds had passed, it was required to help Baldur or the match would be paused! So Seggy came in on Baldur from the side and the lifting arm quickly righted it! Baldur immediately spun into Seggys side so they became parallel to each other, but Seggys rear knocked against the wall and slowed its turn, so Baldur could get its scoop into the skirts!
Unfortunately, the low skirts proved inpenetrable to Baldurs scoop, but it did push Seggy The Third round into the disc! The disc knocked Seggy loose and left it at Baldurs side, and it was quick to take advantage of this position! Pushing, it got the arm under Baldur again and lifted it again! As Baldur rested on its side for a moment before beginning to topple over, Seggy rammed it into the wall again! Baldur selfrighted, leaving it with its rear facing Seggy, and the more experienced robot came in from behind and rammed Baldur across the arena, tilting it forwards so the scoop scraped the floor! They ended up over the closed pit, and Seggy quickly flipped Baldur again, in a position where the wall once again blocked its selfright! There was nothing else for Seggy The Third to do but run into the pit release and end Baldurs struggling to selfright!

SEGGY THE THIRD GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Will Overkill or Revenge Of The Revenge Of The Bludgeonator also make it to the heat final?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
The competitors came into the arena centre, ROTROTB ready to scoop Overkill into its dustpan, but it was Overkill that swerved, dodged the hammer as it came down and got its wedge under the side, so it could shove ROTROTB into the wall and pin it while it brought the blade down, doing nothing to the Hardox! But ROTROTB brought its own hammer down, the stick part coming down on Overkills blade and bending it a little! Its tyres brought off the ground, Overkill couldnt move, but neither could ROTROTB! Overkill activated its blade, and slowly its wedge began edging out from under ROTROTB as its body rotated! But before Overkills wheels touched the ground again, ROTROTBs did, and it dragged Overkill to the arena disc and turned it so a tyre was slashed! Next, it took Overkill into the southwest corner, released the hammer and quickly took Overkill into the corner! Overkill ran around a short distance but was unable to stop the mighty hammer coming down on its body, making a crowd-pleasing dent! As Overkill struggled to get out, the hammer came down over it and hit the floor, making ROTROTB bounce! Overkill was tilted as ROTROTB went up, and spun on one wheel, getting under ROTROTBs side as it came down! Now ROTROTB was the one pinned, and having the weak punishment of Overkills blade coming down on it!
ROTROTB tried escaping by firing its hammer, which knocked it away from the wall but not off Overkills wedge! Overkill turned and began shoving ROTROTB from the rear, swinging its blade - as they went, ROTROTB brought its hammer back to the front and bounced, then fired backwards but missed Overkills body, and soon it was against the wall again! It fired its hammer again, and was knocked onto Overkills right tyre! Quickly turning so it was under ROTROTBs side, Overkill manouvered it back into the wall and began using the blade again, as ROTROTB fired the hammer one more time, but didnt bounce enough to escape! Overkill just kept its victim against the wall and continued whacking the side, ROTROTB trying and failing to free itself again with its hammer! The 30 second time limit on a pin ran out eventually, and Overkill reversed to free ROTROTB - and then had to retreat when its opponent seemed intent on scooping it up! Overkill then moved towards the advancing ROTROTB, aiming to get under the side again, but ROTROTB dodged and brought Overkill into its scoop, a second before the hammer hit home on a tyre, denting it and tipping Overkill!
As ROTROTB brought its hammer back, Overkill spun out of the scoop, but ended up on its side! It quickly moved the blade and came down, but ROTROTB was quickly on it, although it missed with the hammer! As Overkill overturned itself so it could use its blade again, ROTROTB came in from behind and managed to land a blow on the body, deepening the dent and slowing Overkill down as it spun out of the scoop again! ROTROTB followed it and the hammer came down again, bashing Overkill for a third and fatal time! The previous Battlebots finalist was dead, eliminated by the damage potential of ROTROTBs hammer! ROTROTB scooped the corpse into the southwest corner, pinned it for a while, then left it once it was sure there was no life left!

Heat G Final:
Revenge Of The Revenge Of The Bludgeonator vs Seggy The Third
I know Ive been a touch lax in my encouragement of late, so...
Extreme wootation of the fighting kind :proud:
Wooty fights.
Set-up for heat final will either be the hardox wedge or the drum. Depends on what Steve says.
