Dunno really, we never have bothered before, usually found enough room for all. I think it might be alright, from previous meets the tables round where we are sitting generally empty pretty fast.... cant think why!!

quote The high €˜light€™ of the weekend will be the turning on of the resort€™s seafront illuminations, from outside the Royal Hotel at 9pm on Saturday night, immediately followed by the first major firework display of the year from the Pier, during which there will be a bucket collection in aid of the lights.

Jon.
Had a good time being entertained by the Thorak boys. There wasnt much left off the list of what to blow up and itll keep us in social events for the next couple of years I reckon
Best entertainment of the night??? The service - or rather lack of it :)
Hope to see you again soon
from what i heard when i was at the bar, the highlight was when the old lady walked into a support beem in the pub and blamed her husband :)

Hi guys and gals,
I was thinking that it was about time the SE had another social evening. There is a Brewsters in Newhaven, not far from Paradise Park. Has anyone got any dates in mind. I know the coming weeks are quite busy.
Well theres 28 May (too short notice), 25 June, 9 July. Thats about all there is until August
Hiya, been off the boards for a while. After a quick look at the live events and going on the dates suggested by Karoline, the 9th July is off as there is an XFM meeting on that day. 25th could be a goer if everyones happy with that (but I wont be able to make this date, same for 28th May).
Failing that, August.
Jon.
Mind you the XFM event on 9th July was aimed at teams local to Essex so it could still be possible unless there are teams in our area that will be attending. Failing all else shall we aim for 25th June even without Jon?
The 25th is good for me. I have the UKRG on the 9th July. Birmingham with 4 kids and a feathereweight. Just need to comfirm the venue and we a go.
About time to try for another neis par? Apart from peoples holidays its a pretty quiet month event wise.
I whole heartily agree, Im away for two weeks from the 22nd but there after.
Hi All,
I have been thinking that it has been a very long time since the SE region had a social meeting, and following recent events within the FRA I think that we must get together to discuss these and pass on our views to the relevant parties.
Therefore I propose that we meet on Saturday 22nd October at the:-
Peacock Lodge,
Eastbourne Rd,
Lingfield,
Surrey.
RH7 6HL
The meeting to start at 8.00pm
As this is a restaurant rather than a pub I will need a reply quickly for numbers, as I need to book a table for us. The food is similar to a Beefeater or Brewers Fayre. Please reply with numbers to:- teampillowtorque@aol.com
Thanks,
Jenny Smith
(Captain, Team Pillow Torque)
P.S. Members of other regions are of course welcome to come and join us, just let me know via e-mail.
Hi Guys,
Sorry for the short notice, but I have had to change the venue. The original venue was not able to take a large booking (we would all be at separate tables).
The new venue is:
Star Inn
London Rd
Felbridge
East Grinstead
Sussex
RH19 2QR
Time is still the same and the new venue is just down the road from the old one. There is also a travel inn next door.
See you all there,
Jenny Smith
Anyone who would like to come please comfirm by email quickly, as I have to make the booking on Monday
hi guys,
any idea what social area i am in, when im from southampton?
Cheers
Wayno
this one i would think

Well, this social was well attended with 12 members present. We started by discussing Eds featherweight cadet class, it was agreed that this would be a good starting point for beginners. We also talked about the future of the FRA and in what direction it should be heading but no conclusions were reached. It was however unanamously decided to ask the FRA governing body to inquire if John Reason wishes to continue as S.E. Regional Chairman, given what seems to be an apparent lack of enthusiasm for the job.
i was wondering if it might be worth considering making sub region meets occasionly, reason being that only the true die hards would travel from one side of the region to the other for a social. unlike myself. and this might encourage the few not so willing, to go a shorter distance for a more local social.
this is just a passing suggestion please dont shoot me down in flames *hides behind sofa*
Its a good idea well worth considering. Perhaps when things are settled it will be worth looking at the distribution of members in the SE as (according to the regions map) the centre passes through the coast at about Portsmouth and the furthest west a social has gone was your own beloved Bognor :)
For those of you that havnt noticed as its elsewhere in the Socials.....

Should be a laugh - running around the woods in the middle of winter getting shot at by manical roboteers armed with paintball guns........ yipidee doo-dah - does it hurt? :)
Do you think that if we return in the year 2066 there might still be a few of us hiding in the bushes thinking that the war isnt over and refusing to come out? :)
Do you think that if we return in the year 2066 there might still be a few of us hiding in the bushes thinking that the war isnt over and refusing to come out?
dont worry id give you a shout at least a few weeks after it finnished :)
Thanx :)
Oh, and a change of underwear could be useful by then :proud:
nar just turn them inside out, doubles the wear life :)
(makes mental note to beat underwear against a tree first to unstiffen it before trying to turn them inside out and putting back on again) :proud:
not forgetting back to front as well. Quadruples the life expentancy!!
but in that instance you cant wash them after, only incinerate, and even doing that will take a while as they burn like a candle at that point :)
Either burn like a candle or go up like a ........ fuel storage depot in Hemel Hempstead :)
Anyone for a social? Ideas needed for a meeting place west of the A23 corridor and/or along the M3 corridor this time. James, Mike, Wayne your knowledge of the area would be welcome along with suggestions. Anyone know how to contact Paul Cooper? (other that emailing Technobots). Geoff, could you contact John to see if he has any ideas please.

Seeing as we havnt had a social in so long - is anyone up for 10th June?
No events that weekend so the date is open.
Ill ask around to see if there are any nice pubs around the Gatwick area. I do know of a Hungry Horse in Charlwood. Basic style pub but Ive had good food there.
Sorry about this folk, due to various health problems leading up to coming down with flu just last night I havnt been able to check out any venues for a social. If anyone has any ideas I will be grateful.
An FRA Committee meeting is taking place on Saturday 30/9/06.
If there is anything you would like me to raise at the meeting I will happily take it up for you. Please let me know by Fri 11pm.
So we can all catch up with each other again and keep you up to date with whats been going on - how about a social - its been far too long since the last one?
How does Sat 2nd December sound?
I propose we meet in the Star Inn as before
Star Inn
London Rd
Felbridge
East Grinstead

Let me know here what you think
