There was an entry fee for the featherweight champs. But that's the only event that has one (I think).

25 pounds is the standard fee for the champs.
You need to be a paying member of the FRA though.
Or from abroad...
Guys, You can have a normal AC powertool run on battery. Feed a series wound motor AC or DC and it will run.
Voltage will.
Feeding a 240VAC anglegrinder 24VDC will make it about as powerfull as a newborn kitten. if it turns.
And without any cuteness.
Also, reversing it will be a fun situation.
J.A.G, everybody is telling the same thing. Shouldn't be there some truth to those statements?
I think Gary was clearest, and I said earlier go to an event don't do anything but sketch before.
What does the 3 black wires do at the end of the ecs
Which wires (picture)? ESC's have 2 wires to provide power to the esc, 2 to provide power to the motor and 3 small wires grouped together that power the receiver and get signal from the receiver.
I'm not going to by unless its any good http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/30A-Myster...item2c6fb9a1c9
That's an ESC for brushless motors, as pointed out in the title. Also 'Mystery Speed controller' doesn't scream good value, 30A is also a bit borderline.
