Yeh, if you don't have a soldering iron, you can buy plugs fron an rc shop that require no soldering at all, and it can be easily mounted with a little glue, I can't see a problem.
wait what?
how does a removable link prevent a robot falling off a table
It prevents them driving off a table
why would you be driving it on a table?
Actually, from the stories I've heard, a fire protection suit may be beneficial! :shock:Quote:

to require a link and powerlight is like requiring all featherweights to have a locking bar even if they have to (I'm assuming this is meant to read 'no') pneumatic system
I don't no if this sounds stupid but if your robot doesn't have a link can't you just turn of the controller and it will stop :?:
no you need a link, AND for it to failsafe.
ok bad example, replace locking bar with dump valve lol.
Not a silly question but it's about safety. Robots have a lot of dangerous stuff in them and we want them to be safe. We want all the batteries, spinny things and flippy things to be dead whenever we're messing with them so we don't hurt ourselves. Switches can fail, so can failsafes on the receiver, speed controllers can blow and go into full power and batteries can catch fire spontaneously. If we have a removable link we take out a bit of cable which means that unless we have the most unlucky failure will mean that we can guarentee the robot is dead.Quote:
