So that line in the show about it working perfectly wasn't entirely true :crazy: At least the end of the sentence was right!Quote:

Just one more to do and I'll be happy :)
Most bored people just sit and play Xbox or something. You go and make some precision brass gears from scratch by hand. Crazy person :shock:
Seriously impressive. Most of us would end up with off-centre gears and wonky teeth if we tried that. Did you just use the plastic ones for reference to get your spacing and such spot on?
Both my xbox remotes are broke :( lol
I'll take a few pictures when i make the 2nd to show how its done :)
Can make me a few pairs if you like :proud:
very nice, good fix for those Bosch plastic gears
A decent shaft for those and your away
Awesome that!
How long did that take!? Very impressive though.
Little guide;
Mount gear and blank on original shaft next to each other and mark out root diameter of teeth;

Hacksaw each tooth using original gear as guide down to root marking;

File with a needle file tooth profile again using original gear as guide;

Repeat until will to live has gone completely, then tidy up with emery cloth.
Time taken about 1.5 hour per gear.
Alan you can pay me if you like :p
