House robots...heh heh. Uh...which ones shall I choose...oh to hell with it. You'll see them in the battle! :P

ACTIVATE!
Both robots fly straight at each other! And within a second or two, they've met each other, with a massive collision that is! And Ringwraith is sent flying backwards from the force generated by his own hit, as sparky fly! The oldest vapour going, though, seems to be just fine, as the 8mm Hardox wedge has absolutely no damage done to it! Richard decides that a frontal assault may not be the best course of action and decides to go around to the rear of The Crashing Bore 2. Frank turns his machine accordingly...or tries to, but what a horrible turning! The robot is just too thin to spin on the spot, at least quickly! And I think Richie knows it! Ringwraith outpaces The Crashing Bore 2 and lands a solid blow on the corner of the left side and rear skirts, buckling the side one and ripping the rear one straight off! This unfortunately stops Ringwraith, allowing Frank to shove Ringwraith across the arena! They reach Renegade's CPZ and the house robot tries to grapple hold of the axlebot, but the awkward shape of the drum means the house robot can't grab it! The axe lets fly, though, and damages the Duralumin that composes the drum! The Crashing Bore keeps him there and now Renegade completely demolishes the area of the drum he's hitting!!! What a way to go! As The Crashing Bore backs off and Ringwraith escapes, there is obviously no life left in the drum after that! So...Richard I think is out of luck! Frank knows it too, and decides to have some fun! :proud: As Ringwraith heads for the pit release, The Crashing Bore intercepts him and getting under snaps the trap, snaring him and bringing him over to King Leer's CPZ! WHACK WHACK WHACK go the crescents...actually further damaging the drum as well as surely giving the insides a good rattling! With the full body drum pinned, Frank now slams the trap down on Ringwraith over and over again, and the Velociraptor machine is faltering! At one point Frank gets one of the wheels, and punctures it! Stuck together, The Crashing Bore drags Ringwraith away from the CPZ and heads for a different area of the arena - the side wall, where one of the four arena Discs of Death is placed! Frank flings Richard into it, and THAT'S SURELY DONE IT! The Crashing Bore has been dislodged from the wheel of Ringwraith, but the wheel has been dislodged from Ringwraith itself, smacking The Watcher directly in the head during its flight! :proud:

Well I'd say that's game, as Ringwraith moves about lamely in a circle, but Frank is determined to do to Ringwraith what Innis couldn't do to Rolling Pin FTW in the FWs, and get the other wheel off! The Crashing Bore zooms back in and grasps the ruined drum of Ringwraith, but the referee shunts him to tell Frank to let him do his job! There's a nah from the control booth - I say! Frank is feeling rebellious today! :proud: He runs AWAY from the referee and towards the other Disc of Death across the arena! But he travels over the saws and gets nailed! BZZT! Forgetful for a second in his current state, Frank nonetheless manages to haul Ringwraith's carcass over to the hazard...but it doesn't quite get the wheel off, though shredding through it like a hot knife through butter! But it has stopped Ringwraith from moving, and now The Crashing Bore proceeds to hammer that wheel with the trap as The Watcher manages to catch up! AND THERE IT GOES! Ringwraith is now wheel-less! And hopeless - no mobility, no weapon, no kidding! The Watcher agrees!

Having opened the pit, Renegade nonetheless thinks there's nothing more to do, and so scoops up the ruined Ringwraith and shoves him down the pit!
CEASE!
Only a wraith remains of the hopes of Team Velociraptor, as Ringwraith fades back into the shadows!

Great fights as ever Kody, even if the way the result was achieved was rather unexpected XD
Heroin vs. The Unnamed Feeling
My strategy here involves starting the fight inverted. By my rough calculations, the disc should then hit the Feeling on its 5mm polycarbonate panels - although the shape itself is good for deflecting and limiting the damage of spinners, the triangle points should go into the polycarbonate very easily. Running upside down I also have the advantage of 2WD, which should hopefully enable me to avoid the lifting arm and with its small wheels geared for a 20mph top speed, at 4WD I'd have thought Andy would find it a bit more difficult to turn. Generally, though, just avoid the lifting arm and arena hazards and keep hitting it on the sides and hopefully get through the polycarbonate to catch the edges of the titanium body - if the opportunity arises, fully lower the rear lifter and use it as a clamper to grapple Feeling from *the sides only* and push it into things.

For starts, I don't even know what the speed of it is, I'll ASSUME it's close to what Failure goes, though. Which means it will neither catch me or I catch it easily.
Go for the sides as much as possible, it's width is silly. And if I know anything (and I don't, really), that means TCB2's manoverability is going to blow, so going for sides is not difficult. If I get it on my wedgey bit, push it around and axe as nessicary. Bump it into things like house bots or pits or other fun things because everyone likes a good show!
If it comes at me head on, axe it repeatedly, and catch it on wedge, then follow as above, if possible. And if it doesn't, run away or.... yea. XD

Uh oh...Sir Killalot's in the arena! Joining him is a guest heavyweight from my squad, Killobite Sigma!

ACTIVATE!
For this match Heroin's upside-down, nobody is sure if that's a good idea, but the blade is spinning up okay. The Unnamed Feeling, however, is halfway across the arena already... but Heroin manages to dodge his linear motion, and carve some nasty scars into the 5mm titanium edges on the side there, even slashing into the 5mm polycarbonate panels and tearing them as though they were paper! It doesn't seem to have hindered The Unnamed Feeling's mobility or drivetrain though, and so Andy manages to turn his machine around and catch the side of Heroin, sliding underneath and lifting it over! Now right-side-up, Heroin scoots away, Joey unable to hit the polycarb panels now! The Metallica bot is after him though...but the top speed of The Unnamed Feeling is hindering his acceleration a bit and so Heroin manages to sneak away and spin the blade up again...perfect time for carnage! Joey dekes around another charge and his robot's blade goes to town again on that side, carving more scars and even getting through the 5mm titanium this time! The Unnamed Feeling tries to back away out of trouble but Heroin keeps with him and this time manages to tear off one of the front panels completely, sending Andy's MW skidding! Such fracture action already! There is desperation from the Jackson camp as their robot is on the ropes, but Heroin is completely relentless and chases it down! What a display! Sparks fly and so does the armour panelling of The Unnamed Feeling as the front corner is completely ripped wide open and massive gashes are left further along the side...the audience is loving this destruction! But The Unnamed Feeling finally manages to get the arm under Heroin again, and lifts it up by its front end...shoving it all the way across the arena towards Killobite's CPZ! Oh no! The guest HB's massive claw lowers as Heroin is wedged onto the forks, and...OUCH! Right down into the armour of Heroin, just missing the flywheel! Andy is a bit relieved now and heads for the pit release button, as Killobite hauls Heroin off to the arena saws, and...BZZT! Oooh...those sparks seem to outdo the previous ones Heroin made himself, but unlike before, the saws themselves cause miniscule harm...but Killobite keeps him there. In vain, it seems, for the saws, even after 5 continuous showers of sparks, have done very very little to the armour! The Unnamed Feeling now comes back for Heroin...as Killobite lets go. But no, Heroin seems to be alright. As The Unnamed Feeling hits the side of Heroin, the slippery spinner is spinning up and turns aside...it gives a weak glancing blow to the undamaged side of TUF, and get away before Andy can keep him in check.
A quick revving up later and Heroin turns back towards a charging TUF, but doesn't manage to evade it in time. This, however, means Joey catches the damaged front edge and tears it almost into the way of the lifting arm, but not quite! Heroin is then consequentially lifted and slammed into the arena wall! Unfortunately Heroin is upside-down again, precisely what Joey wanted! Heroin more skilfully dodges another TUF charge, and buries the spinning blade into the already mutilated side armour, and panels fly off like no tomorrow! At one point Heroin slashes right into the chassis of The Unnamed Feeling, but this sends him - WHOA! He's on the edge of the pit!!! Balanced completely on it!!! Oh no!!! And...The Unnamed Feeling is immobile! Well what happens now? Surely if Heroin tries to move, he'll fall into the pit! And The Unnamed Feeling...can't, seemingly! So...

Gabriel IV vs. Wedge Devolution
We have more or less the same speed, give or take a few miles an hour, but there's no obligation for me to go at my maximum speed (and I shaln't be doing most of the time for more control) and crucially my 2WD to his 4WD should mean I get better turning. Tactics...erm...avoid the front, get under the sides and *possibly* the front corners with my pointed nose, and flip it down the pit or into a nasty looking damaging house robot. Try and get the fight over with quickly, and keep myself out of too much danger in the process.

Here comes the pain, in the form of Growler and Asterix Anarchius!

And there's the start...and Tracy's own start is much more fluid than Frank's, with Mobile Failure gunning towards the sides of The Crashing Bore 2, and The Crashing Bore unable to turn quickly enough! But we already have an issue in the Team Alt camp as Mobile Failure instantly slides up the side skirt! Frank tries to turn again, but Mobile Failure is exerting too much pressure on the sides for The Crashing Bore to swing around properly even if he didn't have turning problems! Perceiving this quickly, Tracy proceeds to give The Crashing Bore as many axe blows as she possibly can! However, all of the blows land on the 8mm Hardox wedge! Counted in all, those are 7 straight blows! ...and only a small dent is seen in the armour! Frank seems to be pleased about this, but isn't pleased at the position he's in, as Mobile Failure is not letting go of the side...until then! A nice little twist sees The Crashing Bore free of Mobile Failure...but unfortunately now has the rear facing Mobile Failure! Although Tracy still can't get under the skirt it seems, as Mobile Failure rides it up and into the rear...The Crashing Bore proceeds to shove Mobile Failure backwards towards the wall, as Tracy lets the fly some more...4 straight blows on the 3.2mm Hardox and this has made a lot more of a mark! The top's all bashed in! It doesn't seem to have stopped The Crashing Bore's mobility, though, but the fifth blow lands directly on the rear skirt as The Crashing Bore tries to turn again, crumpling it! Mobile Failure doesn't let The Crashing Bore turn all the way though and drives at The Crashing Bore, up the side skirt and slamming into the side with another flurry of vicious axe blows, but they land again on the front wedge and though they make more of an impression than before, it is not stopping Frank...MF's constant pushing, however, is! And the damage will count in a judges decision! Frank simply cannot get enough force to pull away from Tracy's constant pushing! The axe blows seem to cease, however...could the weapon be immobilized? OH! They've gone over one of the arena spikes! Both of them! And both have been flipped over! Now Mobile Failure rights itself, but just barely! The Crashing Bore, ooooooh...trying to self-right...the trap was at the back, do they have enough leverage - ah, there they go! And a little too late, boys, Mobile Failure's found the crumpled rear end and is under it! The blows start again, as the axe seems to have found renewed power! And the top of The Crashing Bore is now suffering, punctures abroad! Off they go...back to the arena spike! The Crashing Bore is popped up, but not over! And ironically that's freed The Crashing Bore from the wedge of Mobile Failure as it...tries to turn around again, ah...and does so! The spike itself stopped Tracy from moving in closer! A panicked Mobile Failure now moves away, but The Crashing Bore is in hot pursuit! And eventually catches up, sliding the wedge under and snapping the trap! Ouch! And the wedge now comes up to tighten the grip...as does the drill! Oh dear!

Securely fastening its weaponry onto Mobile Failure, The Crashing Bore is headed for the pit release button! But that's not a fate Tracy would like to partake in, and Mobile Failure goes wild with the axe, desperately trying to free itself! It certainly is bodgering The Crashing Bore's manoeuvring, as every axe swing slows it down - wait, the grip is indeed loosening! But Frank is well aware and now lowers the wedge and frees the trap...to shove Mobile Failure further up onto it! And as they crash into the button...Mobile Failure drives backwards over the wedge of Frank's machine! Or at least has one set of wheels on the wedge doing so...as it results in Mobile Failure driving in an arc off the side of the wedge and getting nailed by the suddenly springing trap...which ISN'T run on a spring! :proud: Speaking of springs, the axe fires, springing Mobile Failure off the wall, into the side of The Crashing Bore, and...stuck there! :proud: Frank turns The Crashing Bore again, and manages to wedge Mobile Failure slightly, but another good axe blow is enough to separate the two and Mobile Failure backs out of danger! An incensed Frank is after it, but Tracy plays hard to get again, sweeping off to the side, and the oldest vapourbot's turning troubles plague him again! The turning circle is too much, and Tracy easily keeps to the side...but she's not content with that! Gunning for the rear, however, she meets the other side when Frank anticipates this, and has to settle for pushing again! Frank doesn't like the pushing game, and tries to turn once more...and Tracy turns around as well, keeping in line with the other side again! Frank is doing all he can, but Mobile Failure is really outmanoeuvring The Crashing Bore in this fight AND THERE WE ARE! The purple axebot is back at the rear! Any spin-outs are quickly denied as the Canadian robot flies straight under the rear and delivers another frenzied axe attaxe! :proud: They're not exactly near the pit here, though, but there's always something else - Mobile Failure flies towards one of the Discs of Death!
CRASH!!!
And that collision has dug a dent deeper in that 8mm Hardox wedge than all of Mobile Failure's hits on it! But that's a trifle compared to the hell beaten into The Crashing Bore's top armour, which looks more like a strainer than actual top armour now! :proud: And still the axe blows rain down...halting one most vicious pummelling, Mobile Failure now tries to drag The Crashing Bore backwards across the arena, but the axe grip isn't the greatest, m'afraid, and Frank sees his bot fall off the wedge. He turns The Crashing Bore around to get the wedge in again...no he doesn't? Ah, I smell something putrid in the Team Bored camp! You can see it in Frank's face, the grimness of the situation, as he is flicking the controls but is out of luck as there is no response! And it looks like Team Bored's bread'n'butter bot is beaten! And there's really no more to be said...but Tracy doesn't want Frank to suffer anymore! In goes Mobile Failure towards the side of The Crashing Bore; with no resistance in Frank's mousetrap's drivetrain, the once-Patricia-now-Brooks bot now easily shoves it across the arena towards the big black hole! But an obstacle greets them in the way of The Watcher! Evidently the refbot wants his regular satiety of count-outs! And he's raring to get 'em, as Tracy finds out; Mobile Failure tries to turn aside but The Watcher moves in the way! And begins counting the Team Bored bot out!

And the house robots want their fun too! Asterix absolutely blazes out of his spot and crashes into Mobile Failure before it can even react, making Tracy drop The Crashing Bore, and then slams it all the way across the arena! Growler intercepts, hammering The Crashing Bore in the side and sending it careening across the arena out of Asterix's path! And what has entered Asterix's path is an extremely angry purple robot; it wedges Asterix from the side and slams the axe down! And the robo-gaul is punctured, its armour insufficient to withstand the godly blow! It takes a few seconds for Growler to notice, but by the time he does, Mobile Failure's near the pit! And then Asterix is in it, humiliated once more as Growler storms into the side of Mobile Failure and mashes it against the arena wall, too late!
CEASE!
It's eternal rest for the elderly, as The Crashing Bore 2...well...crashes and bores! :proud:

Matilda, Exa-Gore-Ic Evo, if you please! And tusks, vertical flywheels, massive jaws, and pneumatic spikes do please the audience, yes...

ACTIVATE!
Gabriel begins by going off to the side and averting a head-on confrontation with the veteran, but Steve is already halfway across the arena! Hastily the yellow-jacket-coloured tetrahedral bot tries to swing around and bring its nose to bear, but the devious Devo plows straight into the side skirt of Gabriel and immediately gets right under it and eventually the main body! Immediately, Gabriel eats 500psi as he goes flying across the arena, but Wedge Devo is after it, flipper still raised! Gabriel lands right-side-up, but the Scotbot plows straight in again, with enough force to actually slightly bend one of Gabriel's skirts upon impact, and getting under throws him into an empty CPZ! Gabriel...lands in a horrible situation, inverted, with the said skirt grazing the bottom of the arena wall! Gabriel tries to self-right but now it's propped up against the wall! Steve's pretty delighted, and so moves in for the kill, as the house robots also leave their CPZs! But Steve gets there first, and with one flick...sends Gabriel ALONG THE WALL and into the corner of the zone, still propped up! Bad luck, Mr. McGregor! Matilda's there though, and lifts up Gabriel with the tusks, pinning it further. Seeing its chance, Wedge Devo gets under and tosses Gabriel...ALMOST out, but Gabriel bounces and just manages to stay in! And ooh...Gabriel's now back on its wheels! As it passes, though, Matilda turns and catches it with the flywheel...SMASH! The titanium-vanadium alloy stands up reasonably well, but that blow pops it into the air and allows Wedge Devo a third chance to get it out...but nothing doing! Gabriel rides the railing and slides back in, but now he's inverted again! As Wedge Devo barges in again, Gabriel manages to right itself on its own at last! The 10th seed smashes into him, but near the front end of the skirt and merely turns the tetrahedral bot aside, leaving his own sides and rear exposed! Now it's Team Picus' time to shine, as Gabriel slides under Wedge Devo's skirts and side, and throws him over! Wedge Devolution self-rights, but Gabriel collects him back onto the nose and spikes and shoves him towards Exa-Gore-Ic's CPZ for some sweet revenge! Exa-Gore-Ic collects the proffered Wedge Devo in his grasp, but because Wedge was pushed side-on into him, the claws of the Herculean house robot slide over the flipper and angled rear, so Exa-Gore-Ic has effectively beached himself on top of the veteran! Steve tries firing the flipper, but that merely jolts the front end of Exa-Gore-Ic up a few inches and he comes right back down on Wedge Devo. Gabriel shoves Wedge Devo further in, and Wedge Devo now has some purchase on the house robot and tries again! This time, Exa-Gore-Ic is thrown straight over onto his side!
Matilda is already out of her CPZ like a...Matilda, I guess. Angered at the house robot assault, she moves at the two delinquents, but Gabriel spins and moves away, letting go of Wedge Devo, who quickly gets away as well. There's some chatter going on between the two in their booths...uh oh! I smell a rebellion brewing! Matilda knows it too, and aims for Wedge Devo first with the flywheel...but take your eyes off one and the other will get you, 'Tildy! Gabriel proves the point and inserts its nose into her exposed wheel, thereupon negating her movement. He tries to get under her some more but either the force from the disc is too much, or Matilda has too much traction on the floor, but either way Gabriel can't push her away! But Wedge Devo now moves in from the other side and...flips her over! :proud: The disc hits the floor and tries a massive slice into it, but then is forcibly ground to a halt by the said floor! Wedge Devo now takes Matilda across the arena...to the wall...and out! Matilda is out of the arena! How horrible of a fate to have befallen the Mentorn darling, but there's no pity from the audience, they've loved it all! And poor Exa-Gore-Ic moves his giant pincers wearily, achieving nothing more than side push-ups! :proud: ...Steve wants them all out! Like a shot the 10th seed is into the CPZ and crashes his plate into the fallen house robot...but can he get 400kg of cold cruel steel off the arena floor to achieve an OOTA? Gabriel's moving in, too...it looks like Steve has some help! You dastardly competitors, picking on our poor old house robots yet again! Wedge Devo tosses and...Gabriel is there to catch the falling house robot...and there! Gabriel himself has propped the house robot on his rear end against the corner! Steve now tries his damnedest to eject that mighty S.O.B. from the arena...no...not that time...urgh, not that time either! Gabriel has a go now...oh dear, that attempt sent Exa-Gore-Ic tumbling back in a bit more! Wedge Devo moves back in and flicks Exa-Gore-Ic back up onto the corner further...ooh! Gabriel has another go...!!! Oohh...and that's that for the house robot! I can't believe it! Now he's gone too!!! Exa-Gore-Ic has been totally shamed by the flipper power of these two mighty behemoths, and can we possibly get back to the real action now? The Watcher is quaking in his boots, mateys!

And they do so! Wedge Devo moves to the center of the arena and waits for Gabriel to follow. Gabriel does so, but swerves again. Wedge Devo now simply remains where he is, but turning about to keep the plat...e? Uh oh, it seems bent somewhat from all that house robot attacking! And it only hits Steve now, as Gabriel, missing a turn, nonetheless gets straight under the plate and under the front wedge of the 10th seed and throws him over! Wedge Devo self-rights, but Gabriel gets him right over again...but Wedge Devo self-rights again! Do you see how quickly these flippers are self-righting? That's key in these kinds of battles, lads! And now Wedge Devo is back in the action, finding the slightly bent skirt of Gabriel and turning into it, but doesn't quite get under enough to do anything and Gabriel escapes. Gabriel's attack, however, proves more fruitful and it breaches Wedge Devo's side again and throws it over! And once again the Scottish launcher gets back on its wheels quickly with another spectacular thrust...after falling off the side of Gabriel, that is! And this time it makes no mistake, getting under Gabriel's bent skirt and tossing Gabriel into a 360! Such a stylish flip! Its second charge however sees it hit the skirt and...not get under, though that skirt is being bent more, so that counts as damage! Gabriel turns its nose directly between the plate and side skirt and sneaks right under the body of the 10th seed, getting under and flipping it...only to see the Glasgow flipper get itself moving again with another self-right! What a tenacious battle! Neither flipper is showing signs of weakness, and this battle's wearing down! In comes Gabriel again, but sneaking around too late Wedge Devo blazes in and gets under the other skirt, and fully under Gabriel's side, and sends it onto its back! Gabriel self-rights, but Wedge Devo gets right back under the side, carries it to the wall, but is AGAIN denied a victory as Gabriel bounces off the wall and overtop of Wedge Devo's upraised flipping plate! Gabriel fires the front-hinged flipper again, but this throws it onto Wedge Devo's angled rear...Steve gets the hint and plays the role of rammer as Wedge Devo backs all the way across the arena and slams Gabriel into the wall opposite! This puts Gabriel on its...back again, but it self-rights before Wedge Devo can turn around and use its deadly flipper again! And it actually manages to get its nose in there before Wedge gets to him, and gets under the flipping plate again. This time, however, Wedge Devo rides onto the spike and is merely thrown aside as Gabriel's flipper flicks him!
Side by side with about a minute to go, this battle is just teeming with craziness! Both robots try and turn, but it's Wedge Devo again who gets the better of his opponent and gets under the tetrahedral bot's weakened side skirt, getting fully under and throwing him along the wall, Joey mopping his brow as Gabriel barely misses the Disc of Death on his way down! Wedge Devo moves around the hazard but Gabriel has already righted itself and is away...feeling outdone, possibly, Gabriel now goes for the pit release button, but Wedge Devo is right after him and Gabriel hits the button Steve barrels straight into Gabriel's rear, gets right under and lets loose with a major flip...but just can't get that damned Gabriel out of the arena! Joey sees his robot bounce top-first off the wall and onto the side of Wedge Devo. Seething, Steve adjusts his 10th seed accordingly and makes a run at one of the other walls...but Gabriel drives off, actually given a long enough time to do so! They didn't reach the wall though, so lucky Steve he didn't flip yet. Wedge turns about and has a Gabriel trying to get around him. But Gabriel manages to outpace him and has another successful attempt at getting under Wedge Devo from the side, and begins to shove it across the arena! They're headed for the pit! Wedge Devo fires its flipper, though, and this throws him further over one of the spikes, so he lands off to the side! Good points right there, but Gabriel merely turns and gets right back under! Unable to pit him now, and with little time left in the match, Gabriel heads for the Disc of Death he just missed...this time, Wedge Devo is unable to escape, and takes a massive hit to the flipper! There's a dent in it, but nothing more...and unfortunately for Gabriel this sends him off to the side! Gabriel tries to turn in time, but the Glasgow powerhouse is right abck under the skirt and side, and now gives Joey a taste of the hazard! The small mark Matilda left earlier now has a big sister as an equally large dent to rival Wedge Devo's is in the other side of Gabriel! In comes the Scottish flipper again to learn that Pontefract flipper a lesson, and unable to go around in time the two meet head-on...and this time Wedge Devo actually manages to get back under the nose of Gabriel! Quickly Steve upends Joey, who begins to self-right, but Wedge Devo collects him and drives across the arena...flipping...NO! What a sequence of failed attempts! Gabriel hits the railing flipper first and actually lands on its wheels perfectly! With increasing desperation, Joey moves Gabriel's nose in underneath Wedge Devo's side skirt while Steve is still shocked!

With another nifty flick, Wedge Devo finds its world upside-downy, but re-rights itself...onto the side of Gabriel against the wall!

Gabriel moves into the corner and actually tries to OOTA Wedge...but is even less successful than his opponent, as Wedge doesn't even pass above the wall!

Wedge Devolution tries to self-right, but now is blocked by the wall!

I think...that the match we have experienced just now was one for the books! Judges, I pity you not!

Both robots get off to a quick start...UberForce moves around to get to the side of Toro, but finds the tricky flipper underneath it already and with a massive toss UberForce is catapulted into the air! Luckily he landed right-side-up, but has no plan to go through that again! Now he more carefully darts around to Toro's side, before the big bull can lock hor...erm, wedges/flippers with him. :proud: I swear there is a rush of wind as UberForce carries Toro to the nearest wall and mashes him hard against it! Toro bounces away, but manages to get the flipper under again and - ... that was a quick match. Toro manages to sneak an OOTA after getting the hell slammed out of him, and UberForce is now on the tracks...good grief!
CEASE!
UberForce 2.0 proves to be 'under force' and jumps the gun...or the fence, if you get me. :wink:

The Crash & Burn Tournament 4 Road to Armageddon!
HEAT A
The tournament kicked-off with the champion Disco 5 managing to stack The Final Cut against the wall after a well-fought fight, whilst on the other end our friendly ol' Drilla Killa 7 put up a valiant fight against Whirligig 4.5 replacement Mornington Crescent, but Steven earned the healthy judges decision based on damage. The antweights were a blast as well, and after a frenzied struggle with all four teams in hysterics, MicroForce 3.0 and Stewie moved on while CombatANT and Anty B bit the dust!
The Heat Final then beckoned, with Disco 5 seemingly up against it with the dual-ringed Mornington Crescent, but in a stunning turn of events, the champion expertly popped his opponent upon the wall as he did to The Final Cut in the previous match, and anarchy was put off another day as Martyn advanced!
HEAT B
3rd seeded Nitro-Gene 5.0 tangoed with tracked vertical spinner Darkestar, and managed to send the black hole packing with a well timed toss o'er the fence. After that, Ringwraith gave former C&B1 6th seed Die-Reverta-Tops a scarring it surely would never forget, and moved on while Team Dinowarrior went 0 for 1. And in the featherweights, guest house robot Xianghua III single-handedly took out OverDrive when Bulldozer pushed him into her, with a gigantic toss! Good as this was, Bulldozer was then double-teamed by Little Hitter 2 and Rolling Pin F.T.W. and was soon pitted.
Those who stayed for the Heat Final were in for a treat, as Nitro-Gene 5.0 and Ringwraith duelled it out. Eventually after sustaining several wounds, Nitro-Gene got Ringwraith out of the arena...after the match ended! The judges' decision awarded the match to Ringwraith based on damage, and Paul's 3rd seed proved to be hot air! :proud:
HEAT C
A very surprising heat as 5th seeded Killotine: EVO pretty much had his tartan kicked all over the arena by newcomer S.T.A.T., whose static spike paved the way for Team Picus' victory...and the newcomer luck continued as Y5 was bashed all the way in by Mobile Failure next fight. Christopher Mason sued for repairs afterward, but you pay the price for entering the arena, m'lad! :proud: The lightweights consisted of almost all real robots, but two went out when Backlash got turned over by Ziggo, and Gamma Raptor and Sergeant Slaughter got stuck together, signalling a judges decision that sent Liam through with a unanimous damage category swinging it.
Perhaps a clone of the 5th seed, Mobile Failure nevertheless did what Killotine: EVO couldn't and managed to pit S.T.A.T. in the Heat Final of the newcomers, and Team Alt's ascent begun!
HEAT D
Samuel Park's Paralyzation 2 looked to defend its 7th seeding against Leo van Miert's Sideswipe, and after a struggle managed to pop Sideswipe over on an arena spike and win its match, while Novastorm finally pitted Harraz after a draining battle between the two box wedges. Middleweight munchies were offered as well...with a fur-clad Gamma-Rex being pulverized by Alex Holt's Blizzard MW and Heroin managing to disable one part of the Pack Raptors, therefore taking the entire clusterbot out of the 'pack'! :proud:
Looking to go one step further, Samuel however was denied by Tony Politzi and Novastorm as it and Paralyzation 2 beat the snot out of each for the entire match and Tony won the judges' decision with aggression barely swinging it, so the C&B2 veteran climbed towards the trophy while Paralyzation 2 climbed towards th'pearly gates! :proud:
HEAT E
Elizabeth went into this hoping to prove Under Pressure's 9th seeding false and paid the price as half of its mobility was taken out early on, and then was counted out and pitted. Then realie Megabyte went up against Paul Cuomo's MeCannibal 3.0 and proved that the real robots can do just as well by tearing off the 360 degree skirt, and then repeatedly hitting MeCannibal until it flew into the pit! Then the Superheavyweights went at it...and the flippers ruled supreme as Toro and Ziggy sent Drive and Revolver hurriedly packing over the arena railings!
A bit nervous perhaps, Martijn's fear was misplaced as Under Pressure managed to control Megabyte long enough to pit the feared full body spinner, and the pressure was on for Team Varying Every Day...to move further forward!
HEAT F
Venus Fly Trap managed to take a licking and keep on kicking as it finally pitted *69, while Bloody Frigid managed to pit LowDown extremely quickly in an almost perfect imitation of the first Razer vs. Tornado match! Then the Antweights were welcomed back, as Bobcat and Wedge 3mm advanced, while Katjuscha knocked itself out of the arena and Razzler was flipped out in another crazy melee that was chortled at. :proud:
A pained battle in the works, but Tracy wouldn't have a sister to join Mobile Failure as Venus Fly Trap finally pitted Bloody Frigid in the Heat Final and successfully defended its 11th seeding. Team Braveheart marched on with their heads held high!
HEAT G
Unlucky for some, but a 13th seeding proved lucky indeed for The May Tracks Has You, as it wore down Blast's pneumatics and it found itself unable to self-right after a time...then MacBeth and Blue Hurricane ganged up on the Mentorn house robots, successfully immobilizing Sir Killalot and Mr. Psycho, before MacBeth finally gave out! But Daniel Stickler took home quite a few pieces of Killalot and Psycho with him! In other news, Innis and Redemption immobilized Sith, then finally took out Small System Shock after an intense struggle in the Featherweights!
Not so intense was the Heat Final, but sparks were made by Dead Metal, and it ended with an OOTA by The May Tracks Has You as the Canadian Blue Hurricane leaped over the fence!
HEAT H
PsycloniZer seemingly got defeated by Sir Killalot, its cage crumpled, and Panicking Still? moved on, while The 6isc took on Black Panther but lost the JD on aggression. After the Lightweight melee happened, and Minilith beat the snot out of Minigig, Tiny Tengu, and Ground Zero, with the latter just surviving, there was controversy in the pits as Andrew Jackson found PsycloniZer had been sabotaged by someone; it had been fitted with an aluminium frame instead of its Hardox one. Luckily, he was able to advance as Panicking Still? had no batteries on stock and had to drop out, so onward Andy went.
Unfortunately, even after that PsycloniZer had little luck, and Black Panther managed to hold on and pit the 15th seed, placing Team DoomForAll in prime position! To this day the one who sabotaged PsycloniZer is unknown but one day, the truth will be known... :!:
And so the first half of the tournament was over...now began the second half...
HEAT I
And so the other half of the tournament was underway, with Tornado and GBOD in against each other, with Tornado easily racking up a pitting, and then Magnitude managed to defeat both halves of With or Without You to move on to face Tornado. Elsewhere, The Unnamed Feeling bullied Killoteeny around nearly all match, while T-Minus made sure its dominance over former MW Battlebots champion Hazard was ultimate!
Tornado fought well, but the 16th seed couldn't get around the wedge of Magnitude, and was swiftly ejected from the warzone; Team Picus were in ecstasy after their first Heat win, I tell you! :proud:
HEAT J
C&B2 champion Sheer Heart Attack 2 returned to the Battlegrounds to fight Dendroaspis, and it looked grim for the former champ as he was bullied around all match. Dendroaspis then tried pitting the 14th seed, but then suddenly pitted itself and Martijn moved on! In contrast, Holepunch 2.0 easily took Neo-Mecha to the pit and claimed an easy victory. And the Superheavyweights threw their weight around again, and it was the Omega-Rex show as The Judge and Red Knight were both flipped from the arena floor and out, UberForce 2.0 moving on with the Team Welsh Warlords flipper.
Martijn had an easier time with Holepunch 2.0 as Sheer Heart Attack 2 flipped and propped the crusher onto a wall, where it couldn't self-right...but after it was counted out, the former champ attacked Sergeant Bash and flipped him...Holepunch was accidentally let down and honoured the winner by taking out Asterix Anarchius single-handedly! The house robots were smarting after that, but Martijn looked to reclaim the crown, and he was in a good position to do it!
HEAT K
Former runner-up Raging Tempest hoped to repeat his success and possibly go one step further, but a surprising end he met when Symmetry bullied him into a CPZ and Matilda flipped him against the wall, making the 12th seed feel a lot like The Final Cut and Mornington Crescent before him! Then Gabriel IV took to the arena and managed to outdo veteran Shovearound 2, getting out of the arena at the last! Then the Otherweight semi-finals began with the Antweights, Bobcat proving how mediocre of a force MicroForce 3.0 really was! :proud:
And after Symmetry managed to tear Cassius Chrome a new one, Gabriel IV flipped them all over, including the Team RCC bot itself, stranded directly on its rear end! Jubilant, Team Picus advanced with a brother to join Magnitude in the Semis!
HEAT L
The Deer crashed out by an early 'thank you very much!' flip by 10th seed Wedge Devolution, who then proceeded to flip Shunt out as well! Naughty, naughty! :proud: And naughty was the beating that Next Stop, Jupiter experienced, as Monsoon Season completely had its way with the Warrior SKF-alike and in the end ejected it out! Then a total display of destruction in the Featherweights occurred as Innis completely eviscerated Rolling Pin F.T.W...except for one of the wheels! :proud:
Not so destructive as the Heat Final, but exciting nonetheless as Wedge Devolution and Monsoon Season played mind-games with each other! After many failed OOTA attempts, Wedge Devolution was the successful one and Monsoon Season downpoured to the tracks, and Wedge moved on to join Venus Fly Trap!
HEAT M
3/4rds done with heats, and the lime proved stronger than Hell itself, as Tracy Farber's Lime-y damned 8th seed Gehenna, formerly named Son of Ripper, and flipped him out from the arena after a tense battle! And the golden oldies proved to be swifter than many of the others, but all the same M.O.R.D. 2 crashed out VERY quickly when Frank and The Crashing Bore 2 pitted them, and then Shunt was lifted over...and accidentally attacked by Matilda! The Watcher quickly sorted out the nonsense and pitted The Crashing Bore 2 soon afterward! Then, in an almost Mass Discstruction Ultimate vs. Crankshafted moment, lightweights Ziggo and Ground Zero one-hit-killed each other upon first impact, and in the closest judges' decision of the tournament, Ground Zero progressed, winning more categories than Ziggo!
The House Robots remembered the humiliation of Shunt and Matilda from earlier...when The Crashing Bore 2 pitted Lime-y, Dead Metal immediately went after the oldest ever vapourbot and pitted him too! :proud:
HEAT N
More veteran fun was abroad as Orka RV defended its 6th seeding and flipped Maximum Genocide over, then ejected it before the house robots could attack! Then Dantu and Liar 2 tussled and thrashed and t...aw forget it. :lame: Dantu won the close judges decision, no lie, and Liar 2 could only blame itself! A supreme shock was discovered after that match, when Blizzard MW controlled T-Minus for the majority of the match, and finally shoved him down the big black hole!
Orka RV looked in danger of losing its next fight, as Dantu put several slashes into the titanium armour, but at the last Dantu was flipped OOTA by the plucky whale robot and Chris looked to go further than 3rd this time!
HEAT O
A rather questionable match when after a failed OOTA attempt by 4th see Ge5orce, Nidhogg³ got caught on the railings. Thanks to The Watcher, though, Ge5orce was able to OOTA him properly! :proud: After that, it was a depressing display for Team Dinowarrior as LockJaw v3 pitted Mega Masher 2 after surviving a disc blow, and sending Mega Masher out of Round 1 a third time! The Superheavyweight flipping frenzy saw Ziggy and Omega-Rex duking it out, but Omega-Rex sent the Canadian flipper out very quickly before the same could be done to it!
Andy jokingly had words with the officials after the Heat Final, when LockJaw v3 ALSO got caught on the arena wall like Nidhogg³ did, but Ge5orce got it out quicker and moved onto the Semis, the only Team ??? bot to do so!
HEAT P
And so the final heat began with runner-up Achilles getting the better of Dervish: The l33t Generation after a few bumps and bruises and quickly shoving the experienced beater down the pit, followed by itself! :proud: Then in a big surprise, Lethal Weapon managed to win a judges decision based on damage over Apocalypse II after Tony knocked both machines out! :proud: And in the craziest Antweight fight yet, Stewie and Wedge 3mm survived about 15 seconds before Stewie managed to push Wedge 3mm off, followed by himself afterwards! :proud:
The final Heat Final saw Achilles use its hydraulic system to great effect and take all that Lethal Weapon could dish out, and then some! Eventually Lethal Weapon was lifted over the railings and out, while Achilles spun on its 'heel' and raced onward! :proud:
And then the Semis began...
SEMI-FINAL 1
The action was fierce in the first Semi-Final! Sheer Heart Attack 2 and Venus Fly Trap battled like crazed patriotic soldiers with shovels! :proud: but there could be only one winner, and Martijn made sure it was him after breaking off one of Venus Fly Trap's supports, then being able to topple the clamper onto its side, which he did!
Orka RV went against Novastorm, but Tony unfortunately was thrown into the belly of the whale as after a decent pounding by the house robots, the flipper of Orka RV proved enough to eject Novastorm from the arena floor and out of it, to his doom!
It was another flipper fest as Achilles and Magnitude came to blows, but in reality it was all Achilles as Magnitude was flipped all around the arena, into CPZs, house robots, and eventually o'er ye olde trusty fence to go back to Pontefract, as Achilles soared ever further!
The May Tracks Has You seemed to be winning against Ge5orce, when Sir Killalot pinned the latter upon the saws for an extended period of time, but then when Ge5orce finally got under the skirts of May Tracks, it was all over as May Tracks went down the pit soon after, and Ge5orce forced its way on!
The Featherweight Semi-Finals beckoned again, and Little Hitter 2 managed to completely pulverize Redemption and earn a one-way ticket to the Featherweight Final to face Innis. Redemption had to have major reconstruction after the match, which Joey was not pleased about...
In the second round of this semi, Orka RV was up against it with the former champion Sheer Heart Attack 2, and eventually taking too much damage, both externally and internally, to go on any further! Martijn celebrated his return to the Grand Final by spinning his robot about in a crazy dance as only a tracked robot can do! :proud:
The second fight of the second round was far quicker, with Ge5orce getting Achilles off the arena floor and out after dodging a wall slam from now former runner-up Achilles, and the force is strong in this one, as we've seen so far!
An odd display in the Lightweight Semis was witnessed when Sergeant Slaughter grabbed Minilith, held him over the saws, but then the crusher broke...and The Watcher tipped them over, forcing the match into a judges' decision. Joey McConnell submitted his guest decision, which saw Liam progress!
SEMI-FINAL 2
Martijn was definitely Under Pressure in this match, as one flip from opponent Gabriel IV rendered it nearly useless! It then got flipped back over...and then again onto the edge of the pit before being knocked in, signalling a rise for Team Picus!
Possibly the oddest heavyweight match, as champion Disco 5 took one hit from Mobile Failure's axe and completely stopped moving! It was afterwards learned that Disco 5's ground clearance was set too low...not that that would have helped The Final Cut or Mornington Crescent in their matches much! :proud: Regardless, the champ lost his crown and Tracy (delirious with joy) moved ever closer to it!
One flip into Dead Metal's CPZ was all that was needed by Wedge Devolution to send Black Panther packing, as Dead Metal sliced into the rear, and then the Glasgow bread'n'butter flipper OOTA'd it! Alex was sent home ashamed of such a one-sided fight, while the Scottish Resistance was strong!
And in a very one-sided fight, The Crashing Bore 2 managed to de-wheel Ringwraith...of both its wheels, while using Renegade and the arena Discs of Death to destroy the drum itself, too!
Then the other Middleweight Semi-Final kicked off, with Heroin managing to damage The Unnamed Feeling enough to immobilize him...but landing on the edge of the pit itself and unable to move without falling in...regardless, Joey clinched the judges decision and advanced!
In the battle of new vs. old, it was Mobile Failure that proved that it was time for The Crashing Bore 2 to head off to old retirement home by bashing its armour in completely! The newcomer basked in her glory of her first ever Grand Final while Frank wandered away, possibly thinking of an upgrade to the Bore, but I doubt he'll be boring us for long. :)
And in one of the most epic flipper frenzies in the tournament, Wedge Devolution held its own against newcomer Gabriel IV, briefly attacking the house robots and getting them out before resuming their war of attrition, which saw a judges' decision result, Steven barely winning and heading to the Grand Final for the first time since the first tourney!
Finally, the quickest fight (or at least Superheavyweight fight) of the tournament saw Toro get a flip in, get rammed into the wall, then toss UberForce 2.0 from the arena floor and on the camera tracks!

For the otherweights, I have no clue what will happen as that is not my expertise (actually, neither are heavyweights :mrgreen: ) but this is how I predict the final heavyweight stands to be:

So, Innis against Little Hitter, whos name I keep misspelling and it bothers Kody greatly. XD
I'm not too sure. It seems like a good idea, though, to avoid it's weapon, and go for what corners I can find, and tear into them. I think I can cut in well enough, so hopefully it causes enough damage that I don't have to worry too too hard about getting murderdated really fast!
But now, for the most important one, right, Failure against Sheer Heart Attack the second.
....I've beaten it before. XD
Granted, it was with Failure 2.5, however, I don't see how much has changed enough for a similar, if not identical, strat to work.
So!
Running away is hard, it's faster, so I'm not running. Gonna stand my ground as much as possible. Go for the tracks. If I can get those, speed diffrences are no longer a problem. And then, let the pushing begin. It would be pretty great if I got a track off of the thing, somehow, though I don't think it's likely. Do try to avoid that drum, if at all possible, of course.

Well, long story short I have my tactics ready ;). Mobile Failure has a wedge, Sheer Heart Attack 2 loves wedges. My drumbot drives over a wedge, the wedge is damaged, it's as simple as that. Furthermore, notice SHA's own hinged wedges... SHA drives up a wedge, the hinges do their job, and the tracks of SHA keep in contact with the ground. Positive, positive, positive. Furthermore, what is it I see up that wedge of Mobile Failure? It's the axe's hinge! If SHA drives up the wedge, the drum will at some point meet up with that axe's hinge and Mobile Failure's weapon might just find itself crippled. I would fancy doing that ;).
Mobile Failure... that axe is nasty. Not immensely extremely powerful, but hey, if it were, it would only hinder Mobile Failure's... mobility. It's powerful enough, and that in itself is frightening enough. But SHA's shape is awkward, isn't it? In the middle of the bot's top view, where axes tend to hit, there's air and nothing but air. If I meet Mobile Failure drum-to-wedge, that axe wont hit me, which is exactly what I will be aiming for.

I would like to get this one over with quickly - I think that a battle between two flippers like this could either be very short or very long. The main advantage I have here is that my two-wheel drive should be more manoeuvrable than Wedge Devolution's four-wheel drive. That should allow me to get into good positions to attack, while also avoiding Wedge Devolution's flipper. I should have enough power and leverage with my long wedge to get under Wedge's skirts, push it around, and flip it about. Once I'm under it, there's only one thing to do, and that's to try and get the king of all vapourbot flippers out of the arena. Failing this, I should have enough power to push Wedge Devolution around and into the hazards and potentially the pit. Another thing working in my favour is that I am invertible and won't need to self-right to get back on the attack, whereas Wedge Devolution will need to use up gas every time I turn it over.

And the Grand Final is underway! It begins with Sheer Heart Attack 2 on a one-way course with Mobile Failure's wedge! Obviously that's not where Tracy intends to end up and goes to move out of the way...but finds the plucky drumbot nearly there already! Hurriedly the newbie axebot tries to make a go at the sides of Sheer Heart Attack, but the former champ is caught by the side skirt of Mobile Failure, turned about, and has a clear opening at the rear! In goes the 14th seed with fury, and manages to clip the rear slightly before Mobile Failure can fully get away, stalling it, and then placing a heavy hit on that rear panel, throwing Mobile Failure up onto her wedge, and then falling back down onto Sheer Heart Attack! The angle of the landing is such that Mobile Failure is tilted side-on and Sheer Heart Attack manages to tip Mobile Failure over onto its back! But just as Sheer Heart Attack is about to throw his prize to the waiting Count Bleck some feet away, a burst of fresh carbon dioxide sees the axe extend, throwing Mobile Failure off the ground and back onto its wheels, out of range of the former champion! Now Tracy gets the bloody hell out of there before Martijn can resume the assault, and moves to the center of the arena, signalling Sheer Heart Attack to play the hound to her fox! Sheer Heart Attack just barrels straight for the newcomer, but more prepared this time is the Team Alt captain and Mobile Failure entirely avoids the drum of Sheer Heart Attack as she swings to the side! Driving up against the side, though, the wedge hits the tracks and remains stationary, Mobile Failure unable to push Sheer Heart Attack away, but at the same time jamming the track so Martijn cannot move his machine away! This, however, allows the most destructive axe we've seen this series come into play! And down it comes, directly onto the titanium tracks! Not waiting to admire the damage, Tracy lets fly again and again on the exact same track, and Martijn looks very worried! However, after about 8 straight axe blows, The Watcher shoves his nose into their business...it's been 30 seconds, Tracy, you can't pin Sheer Heart Attack there forever! Mobile Failure sulkily backs off...but amazingly there seems to have been absolutely no damage done to the tracks whatsoever! The track is working just fine and now Martijn wants some payback! Only thing is, you'll have to catch her first, Marti! :proud: The 4WD Failure is easily managing to dodge around the drum after that first charge now, and Martijn seemingly can't get it into play now! In comes the purple predator again, but slips up on its side attack and merely bounces off the tracks! This leaves our deviously Dutch drummer a delicious...er...chance, I reckon! :proud: And this gratuitous opportunity Martijn takes, gleeful with every fibre of his being! Sheer Heart Attack turns and buries that 39kJ drum directly into the side of Mobile Failure!
Mobile Failure is flipped up and over, almost into a 270 degree dive, but falls on its back at the last! As it tries to self-right, the drum is back in there and slashes the front edge of the side, sending the Failure skittering across the floor to end up near the arena wall, still inverted! Sheer Heart Attack keeps the deep pressure on, slamming Mobile Failure again and nearly getting it out of the arena, but at the very least slashing the titanium up some and sending the pseudo-Failure into Mr. Psycho's CPZ - BAM! The hammer directly impacts the underside of Mobile Failure! I think this battle is in Martijn's hands, now! In for a fourth deadly shot in a row, Martijn gets the rear panel again, Sheer Heart Attack tearing through it this time! Mobile Failure is pushed up against Mr. Psycho and falls back down, now badly beaten up! Another hammer blow misses, and this gives Tracy the time to self-right her machine...and there's life left in Mobile Failure, as it does! But that doesn't stop Sheer Heart Attack from driving forward and the former champ buries the drum into Mobile Failure's wedge...which may have been a mistake because he bounces off of it, then back onto it, drum stopped! Mobile Failure now has its own turn to deliver some payback as it positively flies across the arena without allowing the 14th seed any time to drive off the wedge and with a massive CRASH, Sheer Heart Attack is thrown straight into the spinning ring of the other house robot, Count Bleck, and one of the rear wedges is nearly torn right off! This separates the two, and somehow bashes Mobile Failure against the wall of the CPZ side-on. Not wishing to share dorm room with a glaring house robot, his monocle lopsided :proud: Tracy exits the CPZ and tries to play rope-a-dope with the former champion again, but accidentally drives over the arena saws! BZZT! But Martijn jumps the gun and drives forwards much too early, and the drum hits the killsaw!!! The resulting CRASH!!! bends the arena saw in question, and now it cannot be retracted! And obviously the poor thing won't be spinning up anytime soon! The drum is just fine, but Mobile Failure manages to dodge the drum now before it can get in there, and attacks the same side as before! Once again, the wedge jams the tracks so Sheer Heart Attack cannot really go anywhere, and we're treated to another axe fest as Mobile Failure lays it thick on the former champ! WHACK! WHACK! WHACK!

Goodness me, the tenacity of these blows is extremely worrying! I believe I even saw a spark from one of them...although that doesn't rival the spinning drum of Sheer Heart Attack...and speaking of Sheer Heart Attack, what's happened to the track?! It seems bent in! Not the individual track parts themselves, but the right side track as a whole is bent down beneath the armour! But Mobile Failure keeps up with the pounding, and gets a few more in before The Watcher sets himself in the separating position, actually lifting Mobile Failure up and away from Sheer Heart Attack 2! ...and the idiotic refbot drives himself straight over another set of arena saws! BZZT! This releases Mobile Failure, who moves in to keep attacking Sheer Heart Attack...but he's spinning in a circle! I believe that the bell has tolled! The bent track is completely jammed up! Martijn frantically tries to get the track going again, but to no avail it seems, as the former champion continues to make a bogus crop circle near the arena middle saws...which definitely need fixing after this! And so will Sheer Heart Attack 2, as Martijn puts down his controller and The Watcher begins to count him out! There will be no second trophy for the Dutch this time!

I'm honestly not quite sure what to do here, other than aim for the sides/corners, flip it all over the shop and try not to run out of gas before Andy does. Ge5orce may be more manoueverable but I'm fairly certain my lower frame and 4WD will make me a bit more effective at getting underneath. Flip, pit or feed to hazards ASAP and save as much juice as I can to make this go all the way.
I'll try and think of a Best Fight nom soon, Kody, but to be quite frank, damn near all of them have been awesome thus far. Yay, you! :mrgreen:

Roaring to life are the makings of a true flipper frenzy, and it's comprised of these two mechanical maelstroms! ( ;) ) Off to the faster start is Wedge Devolution, but his aim is the same as his enemy-in-arms; get under the sides! However, it's proving rather tricky for either to break through with this, as each one can turn directly on a dime! And evidently it comes down to control, as Ge5orce slips up a bit! The 10th seed pounces, but Ge5orce is no slouch and backs out of trouble. Wedge Devolution turns immediately though, and we're back to the first square on the board. Now they circle each other again, like two frenzied great white sharks in the Atlantic...only it's each other their teeth will carve into! Wedge Devolution stops suddenly, and tries to take advantage of its seemingly greater control. Ge5orce turns straight into the front corner, and what results is Ge5orce getting straight under the side skirt from an odd angle, but Wedge Devolution sneaks under one of the wheelpods at the same time! Just as Ge5orce gets one of the corners of its flipper under the actual side of the 10th seed, both of them activate their flippers simultaneously!

The end occurrence is Wedge Devolution tipped high up onto one of its rear corners, then crashing onto its side semisphere and unbalancing onto its back, while Ge5orce does a perfect 360! 9.8 for the landing, Mr. J! Wedge Devolution has to self-right to keep fighting, and the landing points are...1.8! You've just righted yourself onto the flipper of Ge5orce! And the 4th seed is away to the wall...Steve fires the flipper of Wedge Devolution in a grand panic, hoping to upset Mr. J's travel plans, but this only serves to pop Wedge Devolution up and then back onto Ge5orce's flipper. And speaking of which, it activates just as quickly, catapulting the 10th seed up...and down and out!!! It's over! Wedge Devolution is out of the trophy running, and Ge5orce is through...through to the first Final Battle Team ??? have ever been in, in this series! But Andy is nowhere near content, and now slides over to the CPZ where Sgt. Bash is! The blazing Sergeant is trying to get under the flipper, but you've little chance with these low-to-the-ground wedges, Bash! Little chance! And Ge5orce chances a flip and over goes Bash! Noticing the advancing Damocles, Andy gets under and around Bash, now with the house robot pointed at his comrade! But the house robots are spared, because...

Steven's creation undergoes a disastrous Wedge of a Devolution, but don't fret - the 3rd place playoffs are in sight! ;)

Mobile Failure vs. Ge5orce
My tactics here will be very similar to the ones I used in the last battle against Wedge Devolution. Again, my two-wheel drive will give me a manoeuvrability advantage against Mobile Failure's four-wheel drive. This means that I can get into attacks easily and also avoid Mobile Failure's axe - obviously, axe weapons have a limited range of attack, so I will try to avoid the business end whenever possible. Although if Mobile Failure manages to catch me with the axe, I am confident that my armour will stand up to it just fine. Like I did against Wedge Devolution, the aim will be to get under Mobile Failure's skirts using the power and leverage behind my wedge. Mobile Failure is a big robot, so I will have plenty to aim at if I can get to the sides or round the back. Once under, I can push it around and try to get it out of the arena.

And...I daresay!!! Immediately, our competitors have gone after the house robots!!! Was this...planned?! And it begins with both of them zooming in on poor old Asterix...Wedge Devolution tosses him over immediately. And poor Asterix is on his side after a devastating...270, I think. Obviously we're going to need King Leer to even things out! He...slowly trundles along, as the C&B2 champion goes straight for him! ...and a predictable display, as the massive drum is overshadowed by an even more massive defense, the spinning dervish smacking the front of King Leer and deflecting away with no damage done at all! Down come the flailing crescents, but they aren't doing much to SHA2...that, and they're completely missing! :proud: Apparently Martijn's spinner fits right between the space where they strike, now isn't that something! But there's something else...the sheer power of King Leer is forcing SHA2 all the way across the arena. The tracks don't help you if you can't push back, Marti m'boy! And before our Dutch friend can even begin to twist out of there, the mighty behemoth slams the drumbot straight into the arena wall, and pins him! But still...the flailing crescents are rather ineffective, there is very little evidence of damage to SHA2's titanium armour. And meanwhile, Wedge Devolution has flung Asterix over the arena wall...this is rather a common occurence, really. :( AH!!! The Watcher is fighting! He has crashed into the rear of Wedge Devolution! Go on, ref!! Sort him out! Ah...but not quite under the skirt! Steve does not like this at all, I can tell you, and Wedge - ah! He twisted round too quickly...so Watcher got under the side skirt instead, or rather Wedge Devo flung it over Watcher's front wedge...along with his entire side! Dear me! And...AAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Th... :proud: ...the refbot...is extinguishing Wedge Devolution for no reason at all...maybe to...perhaps to smother the final fires of the McGregor tartan, I'm not too sure...or their hopes. There's a lift...! And Wedge Devolution is on its back! Which a simple srimech will fix, and it does! But it only sends them back onto the referee's front there, and they are dumped into the pit release button! Oh dear! Can you imagine how humiliating it would be to be defeated by a referee? Surely nothing too pleasant at the very least! But the Watcher...can't...seem to take Wedge Devolution off the wall. He lifts the arm, and tries to turn and re-wedge...

but Wedge Devolution escapes the wall AND the referee! Now outraged at such humiliation, Steve swings Wedge Devolution about! The Watcher is quick to follow him but a nifty 180...and then ANOTHER sees the referee slide about exposing its side! Quickly now, Wedge Devolution is underneath...and while not managing to eject the referee, has perched him precarious upon the wall from a position he cannot right himself from! And...there's another flip!!! And for the first time, I think, the referee is out! Red cards don't help on that side of the fence, I daresay! :proud: Oh dear...Sheer Heart Attack has been mercilessly pounded by the big house robot in the meanwhile...but is damage really being caused? We won't have long to find out, because here comes Wedge Devolution with an attack on the side of King Leer! This draws the house robot's attention from the C&B2 champ, who...doesn't move. Understandable, seeing as he's still pinned in there, but as King Leer moves to attack Wedge Devolution insteadf, whose wedge can't quite get fully under the heavy housie, it's become evident that Sheer Heart Attack is not moving at all! But...with no refbot to count him out, the fight must go on! And so it does, as Wedge Devolution tries to flip King Leer, but utterly fails as King Leer is tipped a few inches and falls right back down! Steve isn't impressed by this act and so goes to a different strategy: the pit! He gets behind King Leer...with a flip, he tips the house robot up, and gets a bit more under...but now can't push! The weight of King Leer is forcing itself on Wedge Devolution's tires, and the massive friction is too much for Wedge Devolution to overcome! Steve instead activates the flipper again, but doing little more than popping the house robot up an inch. And this goes on for a little while...well, neither can move, can they? But there's no refbot, no?

A rather anticlimatic way to end the play-off. The Watcher could not count Sheer Heart Attack out, but because he was immobile first, and for longer than 30 seconds...he's out!

Well, it's time to hand out the awards for this tournament! But before I do, let me just say that deciding through all this high-caliber robots has put me in a right state! *eye twitch* I thoroughly thank everybody for entering; though you may not have won an award, you're all still tops in my book! ;)
Right, with that mushy stuff out of the way, let's get to the awards!
Most Innovative Robot
There were quite a few here, startlingly. Joey McConnell's STAT, Leo van Miert's Holepunch 2.0 and Martijn Benschop's Under Pressure were good contenders here. But the real winner is Steven McGregor's Venus Fly Trap for a really unique weapon approach that was effective enough to defeat some serious competition land it in the Series Semi-Finals, well done! :)
Best Engineered Robot
This arena wasn't too bountiful, but there were still a few nice engineering marvels, such as Richard Southworth's M.O.R.D. 2, Leo van Miert's Holepunch 2.0, and Joey McConnell's Nidhogg^3. However, a different nominee for Most Innovative Robot gets this award. That robot is Joey McConnell's other robot, S.T.A.T., utilizing a simple static spike with a petrol drivetrain to quite convincingly defeat one of the greats in robot history, Killotine: EVO. Props. :)
Most Aggressive Robot
Plentiful indeed was this category, and this was hard to choose. Alex Holt's Achilles, Paul Cuomo's Nitro-Gene 5.0, Joey McConnell's STAT and even a spinner in Samuel Park's Paralyzation 2 were all good contenders. However this award has to go to the flipping sensation that is grand finalist Andrew Jackson's Ge5orce. While not having the most powerful drivetrain, he's always fighting for victory and not caring who's in his way, and he's flipped them all out! Just don't be overzealous, now! ;)
Best Newcomer Robot
There were only a handful of newcomer robots here. Lian Eliot's Lockaw v3 and Leo van Miert's Holepunch 2.0 proved intimidating, but this can only really go to the only newcomer to progress to the semis and then to the finals', Tracy Farber's Mobile Failure, proving the new blood isn't dead just yet! ;)
Too Cool For School Award
This award goes to the robot that has style, baby, both in the metal and when fighting. Tracy Farber's Bloody Frigid and Steven McGregor's Venus Fly Trap were impressive, and Alex Holt's Darkestar even more so, but the real winner is Joey McConnell's Gabriel IV. Some call it cute, some call it effective. To me, it just looks cool whether stationary, or kicking the tin out of other robots. FAB-U-LOUS, Mr. McConnell. ;)
Mass Disctruction Award
To the *gulp* robot who wreaked the most havoc...o-oh dear, u-um...w-well, Richard S-Southworth's Ringwraith did some nice d-damage, a-and Martyn F-Forsyth's *69 m-moreso, b-but...for sheer h-house robot mayhem, t-the clear winner i-is... *GULP* Daniel Stickler's MacBeth! He t-totally managed to destroy both S-Sir Killalot and Mr. P-Psycho in his fight, despite losing that first round m-melee. W-well done, Mr. Stickler! ...meep. *runs for the hills*
Best Sportsman
Well obviously we need to acknowledge the most sporting of our contestants! And the clear winner, by a longshot, is Martijn Benschop! Loves his losses, almost as much as he loves his wins! :proud: Keep that trophy nice and shiny Mr. Sportsman! ;)
Best Design
This was a toughie. There were numerous, numerous potentials here. Among the most notable were Tracy Farber's Mobile Failure, Joey McConnell's Gabriel IV, Andrew Jackson's Ge5orce, and Martijn Benschop's Sheer Heart Attack 2. But, with a somehow aging design, Steven McGregor's Wedge Devolution managed to spank the newcomers he met and hold his own against the numerous redesigns he encountered. I realize I am eating my own words for having suggested WD have a redesign some time ago, but Wedge Devo does combine the best of all worlds, so take a bow Mr. McGregor!
Best Fight
There were numerous votes, by PM and by posting on the thread. :P But the winner of the Best Battle is the Heat L Final, Wedge Devolution vs. Monsoon Season! A truly tough fight between two veteran flippers and the mindgame shenanigans that followed!

Errrhm, play defensively, go for places that aren't the front, and either beat the bot up myself in the process, drive it into something else that'll do the job for me, or go for the pit.

Well, it's come down to this. Out of 104 robots entered, 94 have been dismembered horrifically, that or a similar scenario, take your pick. :P Only 5 will stand as champions though, because we're finally at each of the Final Battles! Who'll take the crowns? A rapid-fire succession of battles will tell! It's time to end this once and for all! Here we go, folks! :proud:

It may be a final, but they're still antweights for god sakes! :proud: And they are funny to watch! Bobcat is trying to get around Stewie, to get at the rear, but is only just passing him, and Stewie mistimes a flip and flips itself! :proud: It manages to self-right before Bobcat finally meets it...but not the way Joey intended - head-to-head! Fortunately for Joey the wedge of Bobcat gets underneath Stewie's flipper and...no, not that great of a hold, Stewie escapes. Bobcat hunts him down but misses again. Stewie tries to find the side of Bobcat - oh, and does so! There's the flip! Bobcat is immediately on the self-righting, and...Stewie misses its charge. Bobcat is upright now and trying to find Stewie, but spins around now, trying to re-orient. It exposes its side a bit but that's okay since Stewie again misses. Finally Bobcat gets another go and gets the side of Stewie! I think that may be game, but can Bobcat drag Stewie over to the drop-off area, and drop them in? Bobcat is trying to do just that now, but Stewie appears to have a wheel on the ground and is fighting it! Bobcat pushes with all the might that its KG17 gearmotors can muster! But no - Stewie manages to turn Bobcat completely around! Bobcat tries to turn and manoeuvre Stewie back, because that claw is stuck in Stewie's armour with a capital S... but Stewie is holding its ground...unfortunately, they get nearer and nearer the drop-off area, and one good thrust from Bobcat sees them tumble into the void together sideways!!! Oh dear!!!

Well, I think we'll have to see the instant replay here, because I'm not sure which one went down first...

This rounded box has a vicious spinning disc on its rather pointed front end with two tool steel teeth. Mildly nippy, aluminium armoured, and invertible, it'll rip you to shreds! Its weak turning power however may prove it little more than a mirage...of deceit. :proud:

Welcome back, Battlegrounds Arena! We missed you...what's this? Guest house robots without stats? LW BlackRose is filling one of the roles of house robot today, a rambot with 4WD and a pink lifter at the rear. Joining her is...a newly redesigned Scarab! That new egg-beater looks menacing, as do those angled tracks...

ACTIVATE!!!
And one of the most ominous starts in this series sees Innis spin its black right up to speed with Little Hitter speeding right up to it with its feared hammer on edge! The crowd is on teenterhooks and sure enough we get a massive collision seconds in! SPARKS! Innis actually caught some air there...let's see the replay...Innis directly hit the front of Little Hitter - oh, the hammer blow was far too late. But both of them were spun away and Innis indeed caught some air there while sent away. That left Little Hitter with a scuffed wedge and Innis to spin up again...and indeed Innis does spin up again! LH2 moves back in now, but too late again...but there's another direct hit, with the same result, except Little Hitter didn't bother firing the hammer this time and his front is now dented a bit. This hit also forced Innis near the arena wall and its disc grazed it, slowing down! Little Hitter takes initiative here and plows in on a half-spun-up Innis, throwing into the arena wall and taking a weak shot before slamming the hammer down on Innis at last! The disc actually takes the hammer blow, but that's seemingly done nothing to it. Undeterred, Little Hitter continues to attack Innis' weaponry, hoping to at least unbalance it, but the fourth straight blow knocks Innis aside and frees it! But there's BlackRose nearby in the CPZ and I don't think Tracy wants to be bothandled this early in the match! She gets out of there pronto and begins the spin-up again, but Team Big Nipper are hot on her trail! Not hot enough, however, as Innis turns enough to just get the disc in and this time catches the front corner of Little Hitter, not only separating them again, but tearing off the entire side panel, which lands with a clatter on the arena floor, much to the shock of Mark Lumb and Samuel Park!!! Just proves that the armour is only is as strong as what holds it on, fellas!
Having realized the true power behind Innis' disc, Little Hitter wants it stopped dead in its tracks and now charges in again! Innis catches it with another blow directly to the front and dents it up further, but Little Hitter now recovers faster and wedges the stalled spinner, giving it a smack directly on the main body this time, and shoving it onto the arena saws! WHOA!!! Innis is caught by the saws and sent akilter, spinning through the air like an oddly-shaped boomerang! :proud: It lands near the flame pit and Little Hitter chases it down, easily wedging it and slamming it into the arena wall! Team Alt's FW is reeling now! It bounces to the side, and LH2 prepares another blow but Innis manages to escape it in time and miraculously, the disc begins spinning up again! A startling sight to see, but Samuel's not too pleased all the same and Little Hitter crashes into the rear of Innis before the latter can turn...but Innis turns anyway! Innis suffers another hammer hit for its trouble, but the disc catches the other corner of Little Hitter and now the entire front panel, forks and all, evidently loosened from the previous collisions, has just fallen off, completely exposing Little Hitter to attack! All it has for armour now is the left side, the rear, and the top and bottom! However, the corner that is fully exposed is devoid of a wheel, meaning its awkward 2WD is safe for the most part. Meanwhile Innis is struggling to save face, but that last hammer hit has slowed it down, not to mention putting a nice sized hole in the aluminium! It's also struggling to spin up again, but the disc is turning slowly...and NOW it's spinning up, meaning it was just a temporary problem. Little Hitter however has no intention of keeping it only temporary, and moves in. Innis takes the bait and also moves in, the disc now back at full speed.
Little Hitter however stops moving suddenly. Tracy stops her machine too thinking LH2 may turn...but no! The hammer comes down, directly on top of the disc!!! ...no, not on top of it! It went through one of the holes, and got yanked! This sends the robots flying away, and Little Hitter with its hammer extended! It's unable to be pulled back, it seems! And we can see why!! It's bent! Little Hitter tried to jam the disc with its axe, but in doing so sacrificed its own weaponry to do so! But it has done so, see! Innis is now completely unable to spin up, and moving rather sluggishly! Little Hitter seems to still have full drivetrain capabilities, and decides to nip this in the bud right now and opens the pit! Oh this is monstrously not good for Innis. Little Hitter reverses across the arena with its sloped rear, but Innis manages to avoid the initial charge. Not used to charging in reverse, Little Hitter goes back a further than it intended to and Innis decides to just drive straight into Little Hitter's exposed front and see what happens. Samuel is quick at the controls though and gets the rear in, meaning Innis slides up it, but slides down quickly due the steep shape. Not in line with the pit Little Hitter decides to make an extended running start, and with seemingly phenomenal power Little Hitter mashes Innis into the arena wall! Innis lands directly on the arena saws and again is sent for a loop! Tracy cringes at all the abuse, and it's about to get a lot worse as the Team Big Nipper FW comes right back at the spinner! Wanting to avoid being flipped himself with a disabled hammer, Little Hitter does not take Innis to the saws again, nor the arena spikes, but opts for a house robot! And it's our rammer, BlackRose herself! Uh oh! That's the cue for Scarab to leave his CPZ!
Now in frenzied desperation, Innis spins about wildly to escape both BlackRose and Little Hitter, but is completely caught between the two and lifted by the LW HB's lifter. Little Hitter gets out of there lest Scarab crash the party, but Innis falls off the lifter and finally manages to escape! Unable to believe this, Little Hitter goes back into reverse again, but Samuel messes up on the controls again and spins about. Wanting to capitalize on something, Innis moves in and JUST manages to get the disc into the exposed area of Little Hitter! Unfortunately the disc won't spin, so it's not as destructive, but being a side-on attack, it does hinder Little Hitter's mobility! Little Hitter tries to push out of there, but Innis keeps with the hammerbot, and during the shovefest, they venture back into the CPZ! This time BlackRose catches BOTH of them, and lifts the pair over!! Is that it?! Innis splats down, exhausted, but still barely mobile, while Little Hitter...is out! It can't right itself! And thus it seems a hard-fought battle comes to an end, as The Watcher curiously pokes his three heads into the scene, and the last rites are delivered!

But while Little Hitter has been counted out, BlackRose has a different target - the weakened Innis! There's naught Tracy can do in this situation, as the house robot shoves Innis all the way across the arena, and drops it down into the pit...CRASH?! What was that?! AH!!! Scarab has just attacked Little Hit - HAHA! Out of the arena! Little Hitter's gone! Scarab knocked him out with a cheap shot, and there goes the hammer of Little Hitter, too! So while the house robots have conquered, Innis is still the Featherweight Champion!

Little Hitter failed to make the hit, and ended up last on the hit list! :proud:

Straight from the slaughterhouse to boot...rather, smash things up. :proud: It's got a nasty crusher with *gasp* a tonne of force! Also has some side srimechs on its crusher, ala Razer. Despite good front armour, it's got weak base armour, but if it can keep on its wheels with its decent drivetrain, it'll be A-OK.

A revered full-bodied spinner that's taken the RFL lightweight title. Has a 7075 aircraft aluminium alloy shell with several attachable titanium teeth (S7 tipped) that run close to the floor, spinning at 1500RPM, and has Dewalts for drive. He's a lot more happening right-side-up, though, that srimech looks iffy.

Our Razer-alike moves out, but unfortunately the spinning Ground Zero is faster than he! The RFL LW champ, having triumphed over an already powerful LW spinner in Ziggo, is already a blur and moving around the arena as though it owns the place! Sgt. Slaughter pauses, puzzled at what to do...but doesn't have long to wait because Ground Zero suddenly hurtles right into him, directly into the corner! WHAT A HIT!!! It has dislodged the front wedge almost entirely, not to mention ripping out a good chunk of the polycarb side and sending Sgt. Slaughter quite aways across the arena! This has stopped Ground Zero from spinning, incidentally, and NOW the Sergeant moves in, and manages to grab a hold of Ground Zero before it can shoot off anywhere, even with that buckled wedge...down comes the beak! ...ah! The top of Ground Zero is resisting the beak. Can...is Sgt. Slaughter still able to control this fight? Evidently so because they still have hold of Ground Zero and are now heading towards the pit...release button. Off it goes, and the beak ironically looses its grip now, after the slam into the release button! Well they do call it a RELEASE button, don't they, haha! Just a bit of humour...ah. Never mind. Anyway Ground Zero is spinning again...moving about as he did before. Sgt. Slaughter is trying to keep a lock on him this time, but the RFL LW champion isn't letting himself become too predictable and moves away towards the middle of the arena. Is it just me or does Ground Zero remind you a bit of a silver Typhoon 2, d'you think? Anyway Sgt. Slaughter is after it, the claw, gaping, deadly...but Ground Zero strafes aside. Slaughter follows again, but the spinner is trying hard to outmanoeuvre the crusher and moves aside again. Well everyone enjoys a game of cat and mouse once in a while, but something has to give here, mates!
And it's Sgt. Slaughter, who turns a bit too much again! And oh goodness me, I think that's the beginning of the end! The wedge is gone completely after that corner kick! :proud: Along with some more polycarb attached to it! Ground Zero is spinning once again barely a second after the hit, and Sgt. Slaughter barvely rushes forward to get some kind of attack going, but now has part of the chassis ripped away entirely...and we're done, I'd say! If he had any more hopes after having the wedge ripped out, they're gone now as Liam's LW is immobile on its wheels! But Ground Zero isn't feeling particularly generous, and is spinning up again! The Watcher tries to move in and count out the wreck that is Sgt. Slaughter, but Ground Zero moves in and smacks the crusher away, tearing out more of the chassis and one of the DeWalt motors inside of Sgt. Slaughter...please, count him out already. Wa-hey! Ground Zero's last hit bounced him away off of The Watcher, and onto his back! Rather comical, but Ground Zero is trying to self-right! Meanwhile, finally given the chance, The Watcher counts Sgt. Slaughter out and ends this destructive LW Final!

A smaller brother of heavyweight Blizzard...quite unusual in that it uses a screw mechanism to drive itself around which, when coupled with 36v Bosch power and 17mph, can prove deadly. The weapons are akin to massive drills but don't look too effective.

ACTIVATE!!!
A cagey start from Heroin as it gets its 10kg triangular flywheel going, but it's gotten to its full speed by the time Blizzard has crashed into it! Unfortunately, the flywheel hits one of the prongs and does very little damage indeed to said prong, while Heroin gets spun backwards and Blizzard's massive traction means it is only buckled a bit. Blizzard continues its push forwards and manages to hit Heroin, though the drilling prongs are completely ineffective at damaging. Nonetheless, Heroin is shoved into the arena wall, and away from the Disc of Death on that wall, towards an empty CPZ. Heroin tries to spin and move out of the charge, but Blizzard adjusts its steering and the strafe of Heroin is cut across by a clever actual strafe of Blizzard. Going back to normal gear, Alex's machine shunts Joey's into the CPZ after that quite pleasing demonstration of the screw mobility. Asterix is first out of his CPZ and Blizzard backs out of there, unwanting the 118kg house robot sending him askew. Heroin tries to follow, but overlate as Asterix crashes into him with the force of a battering ram! YIPE! We nearly had our second robot tossed out of the arena by a ram! But Heroin manages to stay in, although still in the CPZ, and Asterix keeps him there. Meanwhile Blizzard has opened the pit...though the last two fights have had the pit not being the decider here. WoF is lurking outside of the CPZ and now tries to barge in on Asterix and Heroin. Asterix tries to shoo him away! Oho! House robot confrontation! What is this! Fangorodrim has attacked Asterix and shoved him into the wall! Well unfortunately the claw doesn't reach high enough to bite Asterix's top armour, but in this movement he has inadvertently freed Heroin from its peril in the corner! The Team Picus middleweight shows it is just fine by speeding out of the CPZ and spinning its flywheel right up!
Blizzard, idle for the time being, now bores (not literally, mind you!) down on Heroin in like fashion, but Joey isn't keen on eating the front of Blizzard this time and twirls about, going for a side-on assault! The side however, he doesn't get, for Blizzard's nifty strafing ability has come in handy yet again and one of the prongs takes another hit, and this time most likely a piece of it was ripped off, but nothing major. It has however slowed the flywheel of Heroin again, and we are treated to a repeat of the first encounter as Blizzard uses its impeccable torque and traction to shove Heroin directly into the wall this time. The prongs, although they aren't doing anything to the disc, are still looking mighty impressive in the judges' eyes, but more impressive might be that drivetrain...unfortunately Blizzard's turning circle is not the greatest and he can't get around to shove Heroin along the wall, so he tries to strafe and push...a mistake, that is, for it allows Heroin to shoot out from the wall and pass Blizzard! It should be difficult for Blizzard to turn and face his opponent...but, though it takes a couple of seconds, Blizzard is able to swing around and face Heroin just as the latter comes charging in and this time the collision is so massive that a whole prong is ripped away from Blizzard this time! This fully stops Heroin's weaponry, though, and Blizzard is again able to shove Heroin across the arena... towards another empty CPZ! And the house robots, having stopped squabbling, rush over again! YIKES!!! Asterix came over fast, so fast that Blizzard couldn't get away himself and both competitors taste the house robot's wrath! What a pounding! Heroin is again knocked into the corner, while Blizzard is thurst up further onto Asterix's wedge, and off to the side! Now Fangorodrim gets his licks in, picking up Heroin and...Heroin falls off to his side. Fangorodrim tries to reposition, but in doing so Heroin cheats a potential early death and escapes the CPZ for the second time this fight!
He barely dodges an incoming charge from Blizzard, but is unable to counteract the strafing and his disc meets prong again, doing little damage this time and allowing himself to be shoved right back into the CPZ by Blizzard...unfortunately for Alex, Asterix gets a little too jumpy and shoves both robots halfway across the arena! Blizzard's screw rubber helps him not get flung too far, but Heroin slides a few feet and is struck by the arena saws...BZZT! They toss him up a few inches but do little else. Blizzard works on getting his prongs back in Heroin's disc, and Joey works to avoid this...and in doing so, goes all the way past Blizzard for the first time in this match! Blizzard can't strafe now or he'll knock side-on into Heroin, but doesn't have the turning circle to get out of there safely! And finally Heroin gets a direct shot at the sides and CRASH!!! A few pieces of Blizzard go flying! This stops Heroin's flywheel, but Blizzard has to make a wide turn to get himself facing Heroin again, and by the time he's done this, Heroin's flywheel is spun back up! Joey knows what to do now, but Alex is determined not to let that happen again...so let's find out what WILL happen! Heroin backs up, as if to make a running start. Blizzard goes right for him, and Heroin starts to spin. Not blind to this tactic, Alex has Blizzard strafe aside to take the resulting disc blow on the front than on the side, and Joey stops his robot spinning. He tries to move and strike the side, but Blizzard keeps strafing and eventually is completely at Heroin's side. The disc glances off one of the prongs repeatedly, until it's stopped spinning, and Blizzard unceremoniously shoves Heroin all the way across the arena towards the pit of doom! Fortunately for Joey, being side-on he can disrupt Blizzard's traction even then, and so pushe backwards. Blizzard tries to keep in line with the pit but eventually Heroin is able to force Blizzard's path off course...and in course with the nearby CPZ!
Fangorodrim is there and wedges Heroin, now directly clamping the Team Picus MW and crushing through the armour! Asterix remains where he is, since they're pretty much on the edge there. Blizzard also waits for Fangorodrim, who releases Heroin after that clamp, but Heroin seems okay. Not okay enough to avoid another ram from Blizzard, though, it's only into the wall, and Heroin escapes. Blizzard is in hot pursuit when Heroin makes a sudden turn and Blizzard is going too fast to notice it! Heroin just dodges the charge and inserts his flywheel into the other side of Blizzard...and ripping off a large chunk of rubber in the process!! That's got to hurt! Blizzard tries to turn again, but Heroin spins up and gets another direct shot at the sides, tearing into it this time before Blizzard can get re-oriented. Heroin backs away to spin up, but an infuriated Alex has had enough of Heroin's survival run and Blizzard rams into Heroin with full force! Another prong gets ripped off leaving the left side with just one remaining prong, but now Heroin is in a direct line with the pit and Alex pushes hard on the gas, while Joey tries to get out of there! And a few seconds later, we have a result - it's Heroin, in the bottom of the pit, and the winner, Blizzard MW!

Joey shot himself up a bit too much, as Heroin gets 'drugged' back to rehab! :proud:

This Battlebots Season 4 champion is no bull; it's got a wickedly powerful flipping arm and a heavy one at that. Steel and polycarbonate armour are the main defensive materials on the Inertia Labs robot, and it can push you around all day with its massive rear end. :proud: However it's known to have reliability problems.

Two superheavyweight similarly-shaped flippers, but one winner! Here come both robots - oh dear! :proud: They crashed snout-on into each other and bounced away, that was rather amusing. Here they come again though, and it's Omega-Rex with its flipper underneath Toro! Up it goes, and up Toro goes...way, WAY up, actually! The Battlebot flies nearly 10 feet into the air and comes right back onto its rear end! It falls back onto its wheels, but it doesn't have any time to enjoy being back on them because here comes Omega-Rex with another toss! And...that was the quickest final ever! Toro has sailed directly over the fence...which is low for the superheavyweights, so maybe we should get that checked for next season. In any case, though, Omega-Rex is the winner, but rather than celebrate quietly in the control booth, Liam has other plans! Oh, and the house robots know it! Omega-Rex crashes directly into Mr. Psycho! Can 8kg worth of nitrogen at 2400psi be enough to topple Mr. Psycho? The answer is a resounding YES, as Mr. Psycho is neatly tipped onto his rear and falls over, but this leaves King Leer to wedge the Team Welsh Warlords robot and shunt it hard into the wall! Down come the crescents, but do little more than tick Liam off, and by the time King Leer has to release him, Liam looks ready for payback! Underneath the front wedge goes the flipper of Omega-Rex on the first attempt, and with a huge flick of the pneumatics, King Leer is thrust up, and then falls onto his head! :proud: And now Omega-Rex is chasing the Watcher around, the latter smartly using Mr. Psycho's fallen chassis to hide behind! Duck under the covers, ref!

I daresay, is this reverse psychology in the works? :proud: Boxy, angly, LEM130 powering a 4WD, side skirts, has a powerful axe that can self-right the machine, and reasonably tough armour. It'll run out of axe power as with all pneumatic axes, but that won't hinder its pushing ability one bit. This newcomer has not at all lived up to its name, trashing many-a veteran and even both previous champs to get here! Can it go a step further?!

GeFiveOrce...what a mouthful! And what a flipperful if you get stuck on that wedge, for you'll get sent flying ala Axe Awe vs. Wheely Big Cheese! :proud: Hardox body and titanium wheel guards help keep away nasty spinners from the internals and it has decent 16mph speed, but may prove a bit uncontrollable. It has average pushing power, too. This isn't the first it reached the semis, though, but it is the first time he's made the Final Battle! Once belonging to famed vapourboteer Aaron Knight, can the GeForce series make its previous owner proud?!

Fasten yer seatbelts, gents: the finals have begun!!! :proud:
It's not the fastest start, but it is ominous as both robots begin moving and, at the same time, carefully manoeuvre around the arena, neither willing to compromise their positions and expose themselves to their opponent's proven weaponry! A cagey commencing to be sure, but nobody's taking any chances...yet! But before long, Mobile Failure grows tired of laying in her idle state and suddenly makes a dash for the sides of Ge5orce! The movement is so sudden that a stricken Andy doesn't have time to use his more manoeuvrable 2WD to get his flipper into play, and before he knows what's happened the front wedge of the Failure sneaks under the side of Ge5orce, heaving it off the ground, as the Canadian robot's axe slams down onto the flipper, but only puts a minor dent into the 3.2mm Hardox! The situation is proven very minor as Andy, or AJ as he's known internationally, shakes off the slight shock and manages to drive straight off of the wedge of Mobile Failure as the second blow JUST grazes the 6mm Titanium wheelpod and is repelled off the arena floor! Tracy tries to turn and follow her foe, but Andy is not going to give her a chance as Ge5orce swings around, the flipper failing to get underneath the skirts but preventing Mobile Failure from wheeling to face it! Andy starts to give 'er as Ge5orce slowly shoves Mobile Failure towards the arena centre, but as they reach the arena killsaws, an evil grin flickers across Tracy's gameface; Mobile Failure backs straight out of trouble and Ge5orce ends up throwing itself onto the saws instead! Many a spark is lighted, but there's no sign of hurt, apparently. The real threat resides in Mobile Failure as it has successfully stunned the 4th seed long enough to get straight under the rear end! Unable to push it anywhere though, with the saws just ahead, Mobile Failure gives Ge5orce another smack on the wedge, giving the aforementioned dent a comrade-in-arms! :proud: It then shoves Ge5orce back onto the saws, but Andy is able to dodge the saws a second time and get out of trouble!

Tracy is pleased so far, but Andy is rethinking his game plan here, and decides to play the round as aggressive as can be! Ge5orce twists around and bears down suddenly on Mobile Failure! Tracy waits for him to come near, but expecting Andy to turn makes a move off to the right...while Andy moved Ge5orce also to the right! They nearly end up side-by-side, but another twirl sees Ge5orce again at Mobile Failure's skirts! And this time he makes no mistake as Ge5orce casually slips straight under them and the main body! Tracy's surprise, the smirk written all over Andy's face and the hollering from the crowd explain it all as Ge5orce heaves Mobile Failure through the air in a CO2 explosion of power! There is little time for Tracy to react as her creation spins aimlessly through the air and then smacks splat down onto his back; Ge5orce gets right back under and heads for the arena wall! Both roboteers' hearts are in their throats right now as Ge5orce goes for the OOTA and major tournament victory, while Mobile Failure tries to self-right out of trouble and save itself!! ...and Tracy saves herself! The self-right came in time and pushed Mobile Failure out of death's grasp; Ge5orce hits the wall snout-first and flips itself over! :proud: But as Mobile Failure moves back in to go and pay Andy back for that paramount toss, Ge5orce turns and we've gone wedge-to-wedge suddenly, something neither Tracy or Andy wanted. Mobile Failure backs away from Ge5orce and from the wall, but the Shropshire flipper's top speed matches the Albertian axebot's own! Mobile Failure, playing it safe, stops and waits for Ge5orce to crash into it...which it does! But Ge5orce again manages to slide underneath Mobile Failure - from the front of all places!! There is massive surprise in the Team Alt camp, as even with their tactics of avoiding the flipper, they didn't know Ge5orce had the wedge advantage! Andy seems momentarily stunned as well, and only an axe blow from Mobile Failure snaps him back to reality - there now dwell three small dents on the Hardox flipper! Before it can ramp up to make a fourth dent, Mobile Failure is abruptly thrust up and backwards onto its rearside, and eventually the back, by the dented flipper!

Ge5orce wades in, not laying back to admire its handywork, and gets underneath Mobile Failure yet again. Another flip is given; Andy curses, not having meant to do that, but Mobile Failure goes into a 360 and goes onto its back again! NOW Mobile Failure self-rights, and manages to get the wedge in before Ge5orce can stroll in for another frenzy of flipping! :proud: This time, Ge5orce again fails to get underneaht Mobile Failure, but the same can be said vice-versa! Ge5orce puts the brakes on and backs the hell up as Mobile Failure barely misses another smack with the axe, but as the audience screams Pit! Pit! Pit!! Andy simply shakes his head - he's not going to give Tracy an added means to take him down! But the chanting has stirred the thought in our Canadian's head, and Mobile Failure makes a gangway for the pit release button! The only problem is, Ge5orce is partially blocking it, and squeaks in from the side, ramming into his adversary and forcing its path askew! Again failing to breach the skirt, Andy nonetheless commences another big push, this time towards Exa-Gore-Ic's CPZ! Before it can do that, however, the Failure reverses away out of trouble, so nae danger there. :wink: Now wholly thwarted from opening the pit, Mobile Failure tries to get around the side of Ge5orce, as before! But the manoeuvrability advantage comes to aid Ge5orce as it simply turns aside and smacks the corner of its flipper into Mobile Failure's front side, just in front of the side skirt! Clearly espying the opening, Andy pushes forward and gets Ge5orce's flipper under Mobile Failure, and tips the purple predator onto its back yet again! :proud: It presses forward, not waiting for Mobile Failure to right itself, and that's exactly what Mobile Failure is doing - Ge5orce slides in, but is along the arena wall now and can't try for an OOTA at that angle. Instead, Andy opts for a much more damaging afterthought - the Battlegrounds Discs of Death!
CRAAAAAAASH!!!!
Now that's an anguished face! Poor Tracy. Mobile Failure's armour, identical to the Ge5orce wheel pods, is slashed wide open from the rear corner, exposing the chassis! It does kind of hurt Andy however as Mobile Failure is flung halfway across the arena by the sheer might of the hazard, but could the damage also be internal? We'll have to wait and see...Ge5orce is back on the attack again, and the 2-wheel-drive is helping the wedgebot here, but in this contest Tracy manages to outdo Andy and get Mobile Failure's wedge in, underneath the wheelpod! Oh dear! The axe has fallen...right down into the tire of Ge5orce! The look of anguish is transferred to Andy's face now, mingled with shock, as Tracy now has a laugh. Ge5orce flails about, trying to dislodge the axe from its wheel, but it's stuck there with a capital S! The match seemingly flipped on its back :proud: Mobile Failure takes the damaged 4th seed all the way to Hexadecimal's CPZ, and the insane viral entity lifts the blades to expose the spinning ones, as the competitors near the zone! Ge5orce squirms and wiggles, but the house robot's impatience peaks, and Hex flies out! Its blades only nick the flipper of Ge5orce...until they catch the side edge and suddenly Hex flies back into the CPZ in a shower of sparks, while Ge5orce goes sailing away, its tire ripped out of Mobile Failure's grasp and looking pretty bad, while the flipper's Hardox edge isn't looking too good either! Feeling the moment suspended, Mobile Failure takes an uninterrupted run at the pit release button! Ge5orce gives chase, but while as fast as before, there's an arc to its path of travel now, and it is unable to prevent Tracy's hammering terror from opening the pit! For the final time this series, the pit floor gives away and the abyss of doom is waiting for a robot to enter it and ease its consuming hunger!
Neither robot wants to be the final tally of the pit's gruesome killing spree; Mobile Failure whisks its body about, but as Ge5orce crashes into it, Andy is delighted to find the flipper still defeats Mobile Failure's own wedge, as it slides under as smooth as fresh buttah! :proud: Without second or third thoughts, Ge5orce gives Mobile Failure one more hell of an airlift; the axed machine lands on the tip of its wedge and lands upside-down...right near the pit!! But as Ge5orce turns quickly, the Failure self-rights away from the pit and scuttles off before the Shrewsbury flipper can bite upon the golden opportunity! But Mobile Failure doesn't wander far - Tracy manoeuvres it right around the pit to land a surprise attack...unfortunately Andy has Ge5orce drive right off towards the middle of the arena before the axe'ing and pitting can begin! Irate, Tracy follows after the black'n'silver machine, but is met with a counterattack as Ge5orce manoeuvres about, its drivetrain still slicker than Mobile Failure's despite the mobility injury! But the bad news here is that it can't get under that side skirt of Mobile Failure's, and as it begins to push, Mobile Failure backs away again. Ge5orce turns about to follow his opponent's movement, but now its injury catches up with it and Ge5orce doesn't quite turn fast enough, allowing Mobile Failure to scoop it up and smack the axe down upon the battered flipper...alongside the rip in the side, and the three dents previous, a fourth dent joins the mix! But it doesn't stop there - currently devoid of an area with a pit, Mobile Failure shoves Ge5orce straight into the waiting jaws of Exa-Gore-Ic! The said jaws clamp immediately around the wheelpod of Ge5orce...and the spike spikes! With extreme prejudice! But Tracy isn't being left out of the fun, and begins peppering the flipper of Ge5orce with its mighty axe blows! Andy is stuck between a rock and a hard place here, as one would say, but doesn't have too long to wait as Exa-Gore-Ic releases him after several seconds...which could not be more welcome to the British flipper! Mobile Failure attempts to wedge and force him back in, but Ge5orce is able to drive away neatly, even with all that sustained damage! But let's take a look at that again...caught indeed. Yikes.

Wheel damage notwithstanding, Tracy is very impressed with her foe's machine's durability, but isn't going to let this match carry on for much longer! But even now, barely two minutes remain on the clock! Ge5orce attempts to make up for lost time here by faking another aggressive movement, but failing to get Tracy to fall for it, taking another axe blow to the flipper but managing to not get wedged, and escapes. However, it's barely escaped because now the hurts that Ge5orce have suffered are kicking in fully - he's slowing down! This does not go unnoticed by Tracy or the audience, who resume the fanatical screaming of PIT!! PIT!! PIT!! Tracy looks to give them their wish, and moves her machine towards Ge5orce. Ge5orce manages to get the wedge in, but only forces a head-to-head meeting again...when all of a sudden Mobile Failure fires its axe and the resultant shunt, while now tearing a clean hole into Ge5orce's flipper, knocks Mobile Failure onto Ge5orce's wedge! And the flipper responds with wrath, upending the Canadian bruiser with barely any effort again! Mobile Failure, its axe extended, can only self-right forwards...onto the flipper of Ge5orce, who is now slowly shoving Mobile Failure towards the arena wall! We've reached an all-or-nothing moment in the C&B tournaments again, but Tracy decides to self-right immediately before they even get to the wall! Up goes the robot...onto Ge5orce's flipper, and Ge5orce flips it right back over! Axe now retracted, Mobile Failure self-rights again...onto the arena wall!! It's stuck! Both roboteers are alarmed and Andy's face contorted with the effort to get Ge5orce over there, while Tracy fires MF's axe in a panic, but that doesn't free it from the wall! Ge5orce manages to get to Mobile Failure's front end, and flip it...OVER THE ARENA WALL!!! Mobile Failure crashes out of the 4th Crash & Burn Tournament after putting up one of the most valiant efforts we have ever seen! But it has left its mark nonetheless - look at the damage to Ge5orce!! GE5ORCE SLOWLY MAKES ITS WAY BACK TO THE ARENA CENTRE AND SPINS ABOUT, FIRING ITS FLIPPER...HAVING JUST MADE ITSELF CHAMPION!!!!!!!

Ultimately, Mobile Failure failed to live up to its bizarre name. The newcomer blazed a path through other newcomer and veteran alike, and gained respect from many. In its final battle, it caused so much damage almost the legendary Mass Disctruction Ultimate would be envious. A gallant effort, yes indeed. But the final words that spell it out here are tough luck. The silver medal is all Mobile Failure gets!

Massive congrats to Mr. Andrew James Jackson on his win! :proud: Defeating a previous champion last series...and going on to win this series has got to be quite an achievement, eh? :wink: Keep it up, Team AJRobotics! :)
But we can't leave out the other three finalists, an enormous bravo to Tracy, Steve, and Martijn for their performances this season...AND to the other-weight winners and runner-ups...aw who am I kidding? Thanks to EVERYONE who entered, and for not giving up on this tournmament, though it spanned out to be nearly more than 3 years! :proud: If not for you awesome people, the ship would have sank long ago! :proud: And mind you, I do believe this season has me at my peak writing ability.
Yes. Before you ask, there WILL be a Crash & Burn 5. This is official. And I'm even going to start sign-ups for it very soon. But I'm still working on all the arenas for it, so the actual tournament won't be for a while yet. And I can't promise there will be a Crash & Burn 6. But don't lose faith! There are hopefully still mini-tournaments that will open up and need a seeing-to! :) And like hell I'm done with FRA, even if writing won't be my forte anymore, you'll still have the company of myself and my vapourbots. :wink:

Thank you to Kody for taking on and completing a tournament of such epic proportions - to win the heavyweight division of such an iconic tournament is an honour, and I am really pleased that you have decided to do another series. :)
I was actually intending to retire the GeForce series after this tournament - now I need to decide whether to send it out on a high note or bring it back for C&B5...
