Actually I was eating me dinner :)
To Kane...congratulations on your win.
To everyone who took the trouble to vote...thanks.
To the moron that started the rumour that I intended to shut down Roaming Robots if I became chairman...get a life.
Congratulations Kane Aston. You Da Man.
Unlucky mike you will i am sure stand as roboteers rep
do you know who tha was mike i would certainly like to have words
Congrats to Kane then, like I have said you both seem like decent people and I hope Mike gets a spot as a roboteer rep as both of them have the ability to do good for the FRA. :)
So would I....
To whom it may concern - you know who you are. Such an attack is vicious, vindictive, and has no place in this community. It completely undermines what has been a gallant and dignified campaign by both candidates.
Shame on you.
would have been hard to shut down the number 1 robotic entertainment company in 2 continents in the world so whoever said that is a complete fool and people new you wouldnt have even thought about doing that mike, but unlucky.
well done kane
Thanks everyone.
Thanks especially to Karoline for her hard work acting as returning officer.
Mike, see you in the arena soon :)
You bet, will I have to repair Behemoth next time?
 Only if Ants been driving!
good job, Kane, heres to another great year. :) Shame about the loss, Mike, go for broke for the rep spot, though. :)
Congratulations Kane ( you have to love the bloke dont you!).
However, there were two people of decent standings that would have been ideal for the job and I for one would have been happy to see either one in the chair.
Mike, I certainly hope that you apply for another FRA post.
Regards,
Mike.
Also from me commiserations to Kane, 2 years of torture await. :) I look forward to continue working with you.
I also hope Mike will go for a rep position.
Well done Kane and good luck Mike if he applies for rep. Shame the rumours might have spoiled things for everyone. I didnt actually hear anything. Things work slower in Devon :)
Many congratulations Kane, and commiserations to Mike. But to echo the posts of others it would be great if you went for one of the roboteer rep posts :)
Thanks too to Karoline for all the work you put in acting as returning officer
Would the FRA please outline the role of the next president, as I beleive the role is changing
The presidents role should revert to what was originally intended.
My View
A senior member of our community that has experiance of life and robot combat,be a diplomat, possibly to give out trophies and kiss babies heads and to have a common sense casting vote should there be a voting tie of the governing body
Spot on
Oh my god did Dave Lang just agree on something Andy and the FRA said? Whats this world coming tooo!!!!!
Mr Stu
I will agree with anyone if theyre correct :) I dont hate the FRA unlike some people think, Im just a bit vocal when something is happening which I dont agree on.
I also think Andy is correct.

how does the roboteers Reps vote work, are the current crop youve mentioned running against each other? if so how many will get a seat.
Craig - At the moment all those listed above will get a seat. We have not yet agreed how many roboteer reps there will be, but it will be more than 5. So, until we have more nominations, there will be no election.
If we get more nominations, then an election will be called and the membership will get to choose the reps they want to represent them. The nominees with the most votes will then become a roboteer rep.

The list above shows the commitment of our roboteer members to their association and their determination to keep our sport on a forward path.
Both the out going and the incoming FRA executive recognise this and and conclude that the best way forward is not to have an election but to accept all nominations from paid up 2009 members.
It is proposed that all the above names would become your governing body members from the 1/04/2009.
Should any of our members wish to object to the above proposal, please post your comments here.
Whats the situation for the President?
I noticed Geoff has put his name forward to become a roboteer rep - does this mean is removing his bid for president?
The Presidential situation is up to the new governing body to decide upon.
From my understanding Geoff is not removing his willingness to stand for the presidents office.
Just a small observation, correct me if Im wrong, with twelve roboteer reps does that give us a voting committee of fourteen? Committees should always have an odd number to prevent a tie occuring in a vote.
Trevor said there would be a vote if there were more than five candidates for roboteer reps, we now have twelve!
I believe the roboteers have the right to choose who represents them, there should be an election to select 8 or 9 from the list (depending on which gives an odd total).
I think Mikes right, there really should be an odd number on the committee. If Geoff does run for president and he loses and then remains as a roboteer rep, obviously not a problem but if he wins I think there needs to be either a replacement roboteer rep or we need to vote the numbers down to give us the odd number that we really should to have.
Welcome to all the new reps, I am looking forward to working with you.
The new committee has some important constitution changes to make, so the first meeting will be a busy one.
Now lets ditch the politics and get down to playing robots.

Hang about! the roboteers have yet to decide whether there will be an election or not!
The outgoing/ingoing committee (four people in total) may think that having all applicants as reps is the way forward but it is up to the community as a whole to decide.
First the committee cancelled the presidential election was when we had a candidate for the post, why?
Now we are told that they intend to cancel the roboteer reps election!
So much for democracy!
