Thanks to Jonno and Roaming Robots for a fantastic event. Congratulations to Shane Tilly Ewe 2
THE NEW ANHILLATOR CHAMPION
Congratulations to Big Nipper and Little Flipper New UK Champion & winner of Feather comp Well done boys
We had a great event with a few days holiday before. DTK beat Scorpion in her pod again, and went on to take 4th place aafter a pounding from Thz, Fantastic battle thanks Thz but she still DROVE out of the arena afterwards!.
Congartulations to Chris Tanglefoot a new robot a very good effort and impproved dramatically over the week.
The other transmitter that went missing was DTKs along with Beasts, hopefully they will turn up!!
Once again a fantastic event look forward to the next full combat event.
John Scorpion
No problem John.
craig we might of won if the roboteq didnt blow up cus of tib lol
n i think sidewinder makes it slow? so was rly hard to push them to side and they just drive off u when u have them lol
but atleast we went out to the champs
I think the sidewinder was incorrectly set up.
A little tinkering with the current limiter and slew adjustments should solve this problem.
Drop me an e-mail if you need any help or advice on doing this.
Tough as Nails has plenty of grunt, and he runs a single sidewinder.
I dont know, I think the combination Sidewinder and Spektrum also has more of a delay than I had with the 40MHz PCM transmitter and Sidewinder combination I had before. Its not a lot of delay, but somehow i do notice it.
Guys,
Firstly a big thank you to everyone involved, this was certainly a top class event.
What was encouraging was that everybody who confirmed there attendance actually came and no one dropped out at the last minute,
With 27 heavy weights, and 19 feather weights taking part, certainly shows there is life out there !! And to have 19 feather weights In the arena at one time is just pure madness !!
A noticeable difference in atmosphere from normal events, the competition element certainly brought out the fighting spirit in us all.
Everyone worked so hard, and what was incredible was the small amount of machines being taken out of the competition due to unrepairable damage !!
The feedback from all the Audience, and Haven is nothing but positive, and already I am being asked which park we will be attending next year so they can book their holidays again€¦. Nothing like being in demand !!
I wasn€™t there for the final as you know as I was working in London on a corporate event however from what I heard the two Friday shows were the best, and the fights were fantastic.
Congratulations to the Big Nipper team, a well deserved victory, although I think Terrorhurtz was unlucky !
Chris with Tanglefoot, and Smash our newbie roboteers did themselves proud for there first event, looking forward to seeing your robots evolve with time and attending more events.
One other thank you has to be for John Bell€¦. He was the Alan Gribble of the old robot wars, he set up his van / mobile workshop outside the back entrance, and I think he spent 99% of the time in it, helping fix every bodies robots !!
We certainly showed David Calkins our celebrity judge how we run a UK Event !!!
Hope you got back home safe David !
Looking forward to next year, watch this space for when we get it organised, hopefully by the end of September / October so people can plan their holidays.

John
Thanks for an enjoyable event and for all the hard work you and your team put in.
Thanks also go to Trevor for going as far as stripping a motor out of Velocirippa so we could carry on in the competition and to John for the use of the welder. Which ultimately meant that we managed to get the robot running again to throw Dantomkia out of the arena - Sorry about that!
Rob

Thanks to everybody for making this happen. Some of you worked really hard and it showed.
And I am of the firm opinion that Tanglefoot should have a prize for Bravery Shown In The Face Of Overwhelming Adversary.
Hopefully I get my pics up this week. Will let you know when it happens. Have to recover from a cold first. Throat-ache is killing me.
As much as I enjoyed the event (and I really did enjoy the event), there were some issues I had with it. I have put these in a report to the FRA. Please note that I am not attacking roaming robots or question their commitment and dedication to the sport. There were just some issues I feel that needed adressing.
oh i forgot to mention about our new 2007 Annihilator Champion, Tilly Ewe2 !!
A fast and furious competition, with some brillint fights, unlucky for Jason that he drove down the pit !!! I didnt see it, but ive been told all about it ! Well done shane its about time!! :-)

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say what a fantastic time myself and my family had at this event. I was an honour to take part with such a great bunch of people. I learned loads from it and I will be re-designing tanglefoot with a much stronger drive system so we will be back.
Thanks also John Bell for all the help and advice he gave me. I was really proud to get the prize for the most improved robot. I will certanly be using it and building a featherweight. We have certanly got the bug now and just want to come back for more. Will keep you all posted on the forum of our progress and no doubt I will be nagging you all for more advice. Thanks again for all the help and for making us feel welcome. Best wishes Chris (Teamtanglefoot)
well done to the champs
well done to everyone who took part it was a great event. can i just say to Rob that if i ever get my hands on it my dads welder will become non existant.
we may have come 4th and after the battering from terrorhurtz where we drove out of the arena i believe my robot has lost some weight as it is now about an inch thinner and to gas it up i may just have to put the whole robot on the scales due to the fact the flipper doesnt go up enough to allow the gas bottle out, thanks John team terrorhurtz it was a great battle and next time the outcome may be different.. but lets just say my dad has a lot of work to do.
thanks to everyone who took part though it was wonderful and i had loads of fun hope the next UKs are this good.
Sarah (Team Batter)

ps i did help put the tent up in the dark as well ;)
hey jonno just so u know i wasnt on the WKDs
it was a school night so i wasnt allowed
Yeah she was on TVX instead ! Which i swear has more of a kick than WKD, and cheaper still - hence why Sarah had them on school night as you know students cant afford that much. LOL!
Mr Stu
I know John - and in the drizzle too but whats camping without getting soaked eh?
Hi. From a VIP piont of view, we had an absolute absolute absolute excelent time . Even Lesley (my wife) said she enjoyed it. Daniel lost his voice by the end of nearly every show (which was good as we did all 6). I tried my best with supporting 3,2,1s but was worried I would not be able to order more beer (Poretti), crisps and popcorn. Who needs a copy of the video we made to include in the final DVD? Im looking forward to next year already, probably because Ill woop all your hides...;), being on the other side of the pits that is. Thanks to every one who put up with my incessent questions about speed controllers, motors and armour. A nicer bunch of people I have never met. Angela, you are forgiven for throwing us out of the pits on the second day, every one needs their sleep. Best regards to all from half of the picnicers.
P.s. is there a Team WOT out there? if not its ours - Team Wilson On Tour.
Thanks. Gordon
Arrr so you were the Picnicers - fair play to you - you dont know how much fun you added to our show. love you all. Haha. Im sure to pass this onto Angela. You woulnt have seen me, Mr Stu hidden at the back doing the effects.. but i could hear you singing away to Hey Baby and We Will Rock you!! haha. Nice one.
Hope to see you at some more events!!! You were great!!!

Ah yes we did meet... I said great music, c..p PA... I think it turns out there must have been a problem with the rear right set of speakers, they were quite intermittant loud and quiet. 130% excelent on the pyros they really added effect. Especially when you set them all off and Angela nearly jumped over the arena... ha ha ha LOL-still makes me laugh now. 120% excelent on music choice too. I think theres a few others you can put in there too (PM later). The smoke drifting up from the pit edges when shut was also cool. Once you set off a pit pyro and i thought it was Tuff as nails speed controler - made me jump for sure. Are there any rules about mounting pyros on robots? That could be fun...hmmmm! All you need now is the angle grinder and sparks and your job is complete!
Cheers, Gordon
Gordon, welcome to the club :) Glad you enjoyed the champs.
To answer your question see rule 12.8 and rule 12.6.1 within the FRA rules.
Basically its a case of getting in touch with the organiser and arranging it with them.
just been reading about the missing transmitters? sounds a bit worrying, was this whilst they were handed in during fights? or whilst in your possession? as i have 2 spektrums and wouldnt be too chuffed if this happened to me.
It was after the event had finnished, it was just on my table and yes I will not leave it at events over night now
we have 2 as well and they nicked the taty one as there was a new one next to it just had the beast logo on it must have liked it
Hi Gordon,
Thanks for the comments, nice to see someone pays attention to our effects... it has taken a while to perfect the pit smoke, but your right it does look cool !!!
More effects coming during the winter tour!
The grinders used to be on 240v, then we went to 110v after the FRA Safety Report on Arenas, and were never the same, they will be working again at Doncaster hopefully !!! Sending sparks flying !!
As for the speakers, yes big isn€™t always beautiful and they weren€™t the best... we did want to move them but the cabling was routed through the ceiling and so we couldn€™t.... apologies to the roboteers in the pits !!!
I think we will have to set up a picnic area at all of our events, and make sure we have a wide range of food and drink available !!!
Oh and when roboteers get their pit pass, you will have to also get issued with a set of ear plugs, and a roaming robots torch !! :)

Now that is a good idea. Can we keep em as souvenirs? :)
Only if you dont hand them back
they will be on a long piece of elastic fixed to the tx table lol :)
John
Fine, Ill just return the earplugs then.
Ear plugs were on free issue ;)
from me quite a lot used them
yeah make sure you keep bringing them !!!
john
Jonno, you got HAs cradle ? its just a T-shaped peice of wood but I think I left it behind
yeh you did leave it david, dont know if someone picked it up
they will be on a long piece of elastic fixed to the tx table lol
i feel sorry for any one at tx (i.e. Jess) she will need hard hat and full body armour if all these torches on a piece of elastic, as a roboteer puts it down to pick up a spanner or whatever, the torches will obviously go home to tx.lol
good luck jess
