Its got 25mm thick Ti armour, powered by a jet engine, and it can fly !!!! Scorpion had better watch out !!!

Will anyone be taking welding kit, just in case. If not we will probably bring ours if there is a safe place to weld. Thought something was mentioned but cant remember.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will have my big mig welder, and grinding equipment, and probably a few bits of steel.
If there is any welding to be done, then we will be doing it in a safe place provided.
You will need to contact a member of RR staff beforehand as usual.

I cant wait to see sewer snake in action again. Certainly one of the toughest, meanest, marshmallow filled wheeled robots I have ever seen. I was so disappointed we didnt get to fight in the states! :)
Does anyone have any details on the robot Spike please?
Full pressure Pick Axe Bot.

Well, you could just give the direct link to our website, http://www.vangudehoo.nlhttp://www.vangudehoo.nl. I uploaded the new design today so the info should be up to date (unless I forgot something).
But a pod with three flippers and one axe, should be interesting.
Yep, looking forward to it.
What sort of thickness steel have you peirced with that axe then? Got any good videos online?
There should be videos, I would have to look for them though (I dont have them, some other people have them online).
But we once pierced a 6mm piece of steel which was lying on a block of wood; so Im not sure what we can pierce in battle conditions. We havent had that many full combat fights against heavily armoured robots.
Might have missed this in the details - but for those of us travelling on the day, what time do teams need to be on site?

The finer details havent come out yet.
Robots will need to be weighed, photographed and tech checked ready for a prompt start at 10am each morning.
You will be asked to arrive at 8am, to ensure the mornings process goes without a hitch,

anyone know of any cheap B&B local for me and the lad ?
My tent.... Got a 3 person iglo for rent
Babs will include you 2 in the Breakfast.
The rent meaning you get to set it up -and take it down afterwards- yourself.
Breakfast may be continental: bread with either chocolate paste, peach or strawberry jam, or fruit mice (coloured bits of sugar, Dutch stuff Im addicted to), but on demand I can bring along baked beans with Zwan Vienna sausages and/or cereals.
Lol havent even had time to think about where I will be staying! I think I may just go for the tent option or failing that just sleep in the back of the fiesta :)
Me and my mum are just staying in a bed and breakfast about 0.3 miles from the station and 1.5 miles from the event .
Mmmmmm chocolate paste on toast :proud: yum yum, think i will be living on that the next week on my holiday
Id love some Bitterballen ( spelling ??? ) and some dutch mayonaise if possible.... my favourite snack of alllllllll time from when i used to live there.
Pretty please with edam on top !!!
Want me to bring you one back? correct spelling BTW,
(Message edited by bex on August 08, 2006)
translation from my dutch phrase book - croquette meatballs :S
will we need to specify if we are camping or not? also is it possible to bring a caravan (im not sure if we will or not though yet).
John, Ill bring you some biterballen back. You only had to ask. Which sort of frite sauce do you like? We had some special sauce sent from the Netherlands for the world cup, it was orange!!! :)
Jonno, bitterballen and mayonaise will be provided.
Bex, Im afraid a package of 1 bitterbal wont do.
But whos going to bring along a deep-frying pan ? Not me !
Bitterballen are yummy.
Anyways... well bring along the little tent just in case, to be certain, you know, you never know...
And stock up on the breakfast stuff. You English barbarians need an education.
Ok I can see my services are not required
hmm had an email from a friend and guess what we may be still up :)
Planet Mars will be the brightest in the night sky starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will culminate on Aug. 27 when Mars comes within 34.65M miles of earth. Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. It will look like the earth has 2 moons. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.
John, where did you get the info that it would look as big as the full moon as viewed with the naked eye?
Itll only appear as big as that through a telescope of about 75x magnification. The size of Mars will actually be about 25 arc seconds wide while the moon is around 29 arc minutes at its furthest.
BTW anyone bringing a telescope? :)
