Aaron, the reason why I drink lager is because its way cheaper around here than spirits (£4 for 125 ml on average)

Fighting, arguments, handbag swinging has all occurred, maybe someone has stolen Andy€™s coffee or maybe people are annoyed, but it is time for the heat C final, delayed due to a misunderstanding in round 2.

Biohazard vs. Clawdius Decimus Murderous (1)
In round 1, Biohazard pushed Lunch Box against the fence so that Scott couldn€™t self-right and remain in the arena. In round 2, Chris pulled something out and managed to force Intensity against the arena wall, where it couldn€™t self-right.
Clawdius Decimus Murderess€™s round 1 couldn€™t have been so bad, but after a 26-25-24 decision, Riptile crashed out. In round 2, Steve proved why Clawdius Decimus Murderous is the champion by pitting Starfire the 3rd.

Clawdius Decimus Murderous moves forward, as Steve is looking forward to a fight with the 3-times Battlebots champion, where as Chris wasn€™t going to show up for this match, but he is here, and drives forward, in defence mode. Clawdius Decimus Murderous turns at the last second, fooling Chris, who turns the wrong direction, as Clawdius Decimus Murderess€™s Razer style wedge manages to get underneath the skirts of Biohazard, before the crusher comes down onto the top, but the top armour restand the pressure, as Steve is pushing Biohazard sideways, what€™s the use of mass power when your going sideways?
Chris turns, but Biohazard is pushed into the arena hammer, which has been fixed from round 1, as it comes down onto the top of Biohazard, the hammer retracts and hits again, but this time, hitting Clawdius Decimus Murderous, and coming away. Steve lets Biohazard free, to run away to spin around and ram into the sides of Clawdius Decimus Murderous, but doesn€™t get underneath, as Clawdius Decimus Murderous turns, getting underneath once more, and pushing Biohazard towards the arena spike. Chris is trying to use the power, but the wheels are off the ground, as Clawdius Decimus Murderous holds Biohazard over the spike, and the spike fires, sending Biohazard upwards, a quick ram from Clawdius Decimus Murderous sees the battlebots champion on it€™s side, held up by the crusher, as Steve drives over the pit, dropping Biohazard onto it€™s top. It€™s all over for Chris, as Biohazard is sitting on the pit, as Clawdius Decimus Murderous drives over and opens the pit. Ref has started to count Biohazard out, but it is too late, as Biohazard disappears down the pit in smoke.

Biohazard flipped and pitted. The champion doesn€™t go out, as Clawdius Decimus Murderous moves onto round 4.

Sorry Matt, Im gonna go straight after your machine and your 3mm Grade 5 Titanium should make a nice light snack for my disc, go for the sides of 2Blue, team up with Storm 2 as well, it can push 2Blue straight into my disc, let Storm 2 put 2Blue once in the pit once Ive finished tearing 2Blue to shreds, well not shreds, but think of what XT did to BB in RW7, thats what exactly what my plan is, with some help from Storm 2.
Dave, if by resetting your password you mean retrieving it, I cant do that because itll send the password to an e-mail that I dont have anymore, so that wont work.
BTW, Good idea with changing the tactics, it gives me a good chance to think them over.

All this confusion, nothing the same to me.
From London, the 7th seed, Flaming Hell. The cage spinner is back after causing shock after shock in the last war, where it came 8th. The 20 kg cage, powered by the vapourbot standard motor, the Lem 130. The drive is a couple of the real robots standard motor, the Bosch 750. The power of the cage can knock others out, but it does bounce after impact, could this be the downfall?
In Far 8: Managed a run without meeting a seed, beat Not Another Pushover 2, The Deer, After-Math 1.5 and Slammer 3, before coming unstuck against Clawdius, and being flipped out by Gravity in the 5th place playoff.
From America, the 4-way clusterbot, Splitz. Entered by Clover, this rare robot is four mini Zippos, but the major weakness is that none can self-right, and I have a feeling the method of reconnecting them up is very elementary. Each have enough power to do damage, but the low ground clearance could see them self-fly when hitting a robot 4 times their own size. Could Splitz spilt?
In Far 8: Didn€™t enter
From England, PRP. Entered by Matt F, this bar spinner cladded skirt machine hopes to do damage with the bar spinner. Matt has worked out a way to self-right the beast, but when flipped, the bar might be damaged against the arena floor. The skirts are strong enough to cope with most wedges, but what€™s the point in skirts when you get pushed onto the spike? In addition, a low machine will not get hit by the bar because it is 35 cm off the ground.

All 6 robots are in the arena as the squares have never been so full.

At once, Splitz spilt up, going forward, as there is no where else to go, as the other two spinners are getting their spinners up to speed, as the battle of the spinners begin. Flaming Hell starts to roll, forward and out of the starting blocks, followed by PRP, as all 6 robots are in the arena. 10 seconds has past, and the sliding doors slide backwards into the fence, as Flaming Hell makes the first attack onto S2. PRP is looking for the top of S1 with it€™s bar, S3 and S4 are spinning away in the background before coming in at full power, as the bar of PRP misses the top of S1, as S3 hit into the rear skirt, causing sparks to fly, as S3 spins away, straight into S4.
S3 is spilt, the spinner broken, as one piece is counted out by Ref. Flaming Hell hits into S2 with the cage, and takes that part of the cluster out, but the cage hits the ground and flips Flaming Hell over. Dave in a moment of panic self-rights Flaming Hell to meet the two remaining clusters, S1 and S4. S4 is moving forward, spinning at full power, but still 12 and a half kg of spinning metal against Flaming Hell. Both robots hit head on, as both robots are spun out. Flaming Hell hitting into the arena wall, as S4 spins away, PRP slams into it, and flips S4 over onto it€™s side. S1 comes in for one last attack, but it is too late for that, as Ref is slowly counting out S4. Flaming Hell moves slowly forward, but something is wrong with the 7th seed, as smoke starts to pour from the cage motor. Out in the open, look at the cage, the impact has bent it, jamming it on the body.
Cease
Result: With 75% of the clusterbot out, Splitz is out. However Flaming Hell needs to do some work with a hammer and find a new motor. PRP looks impressive at this stage.
Fight 2
From England, the 26th seed, X-Terminator. Entered by Matt M, this real robot with a lethal vertical spinning disc has already hurt many of a robot. All Lem 130 powered this machine, when the disc fails, the drive system will kick you into effect. However the self-righter only works when X-Terminator is put onto it€™s side, and the armour isn€™t that strong, although the chassis is very strong.
In Far 8: Beat Moby Brick with ease, but caused outrage when it beat Son of Ripper in round 2, before redrawing allowing the Son to go forward and claim 2nd place.
From England, Current Robot Wars World Champion, Storm 2. Entered by Richard, this robot which set the standard for others to follow has 6WD, 18 horsepower. The armour is strong, and the arm is a good weapon. However once upside down, Storm could find it hard to work it€™s wedge. It has come unstuck against spinners in the past, but the control from the Tornado style speed controllers make use of the full 25 mph, virtually in your face power. However control could be a problem on the steel arena surface.
In Far 8: Favourite to win the heat, but crashed out in round 1, when Pinser pitted it.
From England (yes, once more), 2 Blue. Entered by Matt, this doubled ended flipping machine could flip for England in the world cup. It has tracks giving it the edge over the others with added traction. However the armour could prove to be deadly, as the weight has gone into making two Chaos 2 style flippers. Would this pay off with duel attack mode? Or will the experts be right and say that 2 Blue, might be made homeless?

The 3 robots are in the arena, both robot wars series 7 grand finalists line up for attack, as 2 Blue is sitting in the outside corner near the hammer

Without leaving a mark, Storm 2 is away, this is real power boys and girls, as Richard wearing sunglasses turns the world champion around and heads towards 2Blue. X-Terminator has started rolling forward, it is slow, but the disc speaks for itself, as 2 Blue is looking worried as it drives forward. Storm 2 gets the first hit into 2Blue, and forces it backwards into the arena wall at full power. X-Terminator starts to roll, turning, as the doors slide away for another day. 2 Blue is being pinned by Storm 2, as X-Terminator hits the side with the disc flipping 2 Blue over, the side armour, what side armour as the panel comes down to earth sliced in half the bolts didn€™t stand a hope.
2 Blue self-rights, only to be rammed into the arena hammer at full speed by Storm 2, the hammer comes down, hitting the top of 2 Blue hard that a dent appears. X-terminator comes in once more, and hits into the side once more, flipping 2 Blue over, as the track gets ripped away from 2 Blue as the hammer comes down once more. Matt pulls back on X-Terminator, as 2 Blue is laid to rest, being pushed across the arena by Storm 2, slamming it into the pit wall. 2 Blue sails clean over the fence, and lands on the camera track. X-Terminator opens the pit, as Storm 2 goes down the pit, Richard didn€™t move in time.
Cease
Result: 2 Blue took 2 hits to knock itself out, now it is lying on the 2 tracks, with only 1 track. X-Terminator and Storm 2 move forward onto round 2.

Am I confident? Yes.
The idea will be to use X-Temrinators height to my advantage. If I slam into the side of him, then the armour should break, as its not the toughest, and with any luck, it may even go ove ronto its back. The idea will be to run around and slam into them repeatedly until theres nothing left to smash.

Both these robots cruised though an easy round 1, so it€™s a classic case of the spinner against the anti-spinner.

Storm 2 once more shows the world what real acceleration is like, and accelerates from rest to turn around the sliding door to meet Flaming Hell, which is running away from Storm 2 to get it€™s spinning cage up to speed. Storm 2 manages to catch up with the spinner and rams into it, taking the initial blow well, as Richard drives forward, pushing Flaming Hell into the wall. The spinner bounces away then runs away to get it€™s cage up to speed.
Once more Storm 2 isn€™t giving the spinner any time to get it€™s cage up to a speed which is enough to do any damage to Storm 2. Richard doesn€™t have time to waste, as he has coursework to do for his A2s, and so rams into Flaming Hell, bouncing the spinner away when the claws hit the front wedge, the spike fires, as Flaming Hell is put onto it€™s side. Storm 2 turns and drives straight at Flaming Hell, as the low arena wall is getting near, Flaming Hell self-rights as it hits the arena wall.
Flaming Hell bounces away, a tad damaged from the impact and runs. Once more, Storm 2 plays cat and mouse and gives chase to Flaming Hell, not allowing Dave€™s machine to get up to speed, and so another slam, as Storm 2 is taking the straight line towards the arena hammer, the hammer gets ready to fire, and fires, hitting into the top of Flaming Hell, as the platform shakes with the impact, as Flaming Hell is flipped over by Storm 2€™s lifting arm.
Another self-right from the 7th seed, as it is finding life hard against the world champion; Dave finds the gap and runs for it. However Storm 2 turns and gets underneath Flaming Hell once more from the rear and rams straight into the fence, firing the lifter at the last minute. Flaming Hell balances on the fence before coming down on the wrong side of a heat final.

Storm 2 makes it 2 OOTA€™s, as Flaming Out crashes out.

X-Terminator (26) vs. PRP
Again, two easy round 1 fight for the two spinners here today, who will fight the right to play Storm in the heat D final?

Both robots have the same speed, and so both are waiting to allow their weapons up to speed. X-Terminator makes the first move and starts to drive away, in reverse to prevent a sneaky attack from PRP, reversing into the arena, as PRP starts to move forward to meet the foe, to try and attack the sides. Matt M drives forward and both robots meet.
The vertical disc hits the front off PRP before the bar can hit X-Terminator, the extra force sends PRP into a mad gyro-dance, as the bar tries to keep level, X-Terminator rams into PRP and gets the first blood, as PRP lands onto it€™s back. Quick as a flash, the self-righting arms come out self-right PRP, when X-Terminator has opened the pit release. PRP is crossing the arena to meet X-Terminator, but Matt turns the real robot around on it€™s 4 wheel drive chassis to face PRP with the vertical disc still spinning. The bar is up to break-neck speeds as it tries to attack the sides of X-Terminator, but Matt M dodges the attack and both weapons hit again. X-Terminator gets the first hit in, as the bar takes a slice out of the front armour. PRP is flipped once more onto it€™s back.
Matt self-rights PRP once more, but X-Terminator drives into it before PRP can run away to get it€™s bar up to speed once more and so causes another flip, as the disc can€™t rip Hardox, and so PRP is onto it€™s back for the 3rd time and for the 3rd time, PRP self-rights, and this time runs away from X-terminator, which has only minor damage to the body work. Matt is thinking and drives off towards the arena spike. The other Matt sees what the other Matt is doing and decides to avoid the arena spike, as X-Terminator drives away from PRP to head towards the wall. PRP comes towards X-Terminator, but at the last moment, Matt turns around and both robots face front to front once more, as The driver of PRP tries to dodge X-Terminator€™s disc, but X-Terminator turns before bar meets armour, and manages to hit the side full on with the disc, another piece of armour flies off X-Terminator€™s front, as PRP once more goes into the funky monkey dance, X-Terminator rams into it once more, turning the bar spinner over. Who needs a flipper when you have a vertical disc is heard being sounded out throughout the arena, as PRP once more self-rights to show the world the first ever bar spinner self-righting protection system.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the bar of PRP is bent, only slightly, bent upwards at the end, could this be the damage in terms of the judges, as PRP runs away once more to get a clear shot at the real robot€™s side. Matt turns around to meet the foe, but this time the damage is done to the chassis, as X-Terminator is spun away, keeping upright, no more damage is done to it, but PRP has started to lift. X-Terminator turns and comes back onto the attack, full out war, as Matt against Matt, these two were at each others necks earlier in the week, and so who will be the winner here today?
X-Terminator hits into the spinning bar itself with the disc. The disc of X-Terminator has gone, the chain has broken, but what damage is done to PRP, as it self-rights once more. Look at that bar, bent upwards, with a crack in the metal itself. X-Terminator quickly turns into pusher and rams into the front of PRP, not getting underneath the skirts, but the broken disc stops the bar as X-Terminator pushes PRP backwards. There is something from the control booths that the bar has indeed stopped working, the last collision has put PRP on a short course to losing the fight.
Only 1 minute is left, as PRP manages to get clear of X-Terminator, hoping that the extra damage will swing the battle in his favour. X-Terminator gives chase to PRP, but both are about the same speed, but the acceleration of X-Terminators puts it in the league of rammers. PRP turns to avoid the spike, as X-Terminator does the same. The skirted machine has no weapons, so it€™s got to hope that the skirts stand up to X-Terminator€™s front scoop, and the power from the twin lynch machine. He€™s got wheels of steel, as PRP turns once more, avoiding the open pit, which X-Terminator opened in the first minute, as it€™s a game of cat and mouse, and this time, the cat isn€™t catching the mouse, as PRP crosses the arena once more. X-Terminator forwards PRP, at least it€™s avoiding the spike. PRP turns, as X-Terminator slams straight into the side of PRP, X-Terminator isn€™t giving up hope, as the hammer comes down, hitting the bar down, the force breaks the bar off where the crack is.

In a close battle, too close for the judge€™s to call, it will go to a full judge€™s system in the out of 75 system made famous by Far 8.
The Pits
The judges are looking at both robots for damage, as it€™s the key factor in this fight, and discover than PRP has cracked the drive shaft that it could break. The damage on X-terminator is minor, but still could prove with the two front armour panels missing and a scar in the exposed chassis, the major damage is the chain which fell off.

As much as Im nowhere near as confident as I was about the last fight, I still think I can win.
I dont think that Storm 2 will get underneath the skirts, so the idea will be to shunt underneath the back with my skirts, drag him up and smash off the failsafe pad with the bar. Then Ill keep hitting there until I knock it ou.

Powerpoints blade seems a bit too tall to make any effect on Storm and unless the skirts can prove lower and drag it up enough into the spinner, I think the RW World Champll be slamming it around the Warzone until the Pit beckons :proud:

It€™s been a long time coming, forever delayed by the downloading of bootlegs, but finally it is here, the fight to decide who goes forward to the semi finals.
Storm 2 vs. PRP
Storm 2 got here by slamming 2 Blue into the arena hammer and into X-Terminator before making Matt€™s robot spin out of the arena. In round 2, it did the same with 7th seed Flaming Hell, hit, hit and hit it again not giving the spinner any chance in spinning up before Flaming Hell joins the rankings on the camera tracks.
PRP had an easy round 1 in which it did nothing. Flaming Hell took out 2 of the clusterbot, whereas another part took out the final part and the 75% rule came into force. In round 2, a very close decision put PRP ahead of X-Terminator by 1 point to be here today.

Richard flicks on the power of Storm 2 as it storms away from the starting line, PRP is spinning it€™s bar up to speed, a new bar for a new fight after the old bar got torn apart. PRP is trying to keep close to the sliding door as possible as Storm 2 turns the corner, reversing a bit to get the best speed, as PRP starts to move away from the door which has slide back into the wall for another day.
Matt is waiting for the attack from Storm 2, as the all-to familiar sound sounds, as the pit drops to show the black hole of misfortune, while my guitar gently weeps, I look at the floor, and I see my guitar gently weeping, meanwhile, back to the fight and a minute has pasted without much action. Storm 2 is driving around to wait for the right time to attack. Matt is whistling as he sits still spinning the bar around at 75% of full speed, any faster for a long time and the heat generated from the motor is enough to burn the electrics.
Storm 2 suddenly turns and comes onto the attack, slamming into PRP at full speed, the skirt has cope with the attack well, but PRP is being pushed into the wall, as the bar hits the top of Storm 2, as a panel is removed from the front, as Storm 2 slams PRP into the arena wall at some speed that the wall shakes under impact. That can€™t have been good for PRP, and look at the bar, the first to take the impact and it has bent under the pressure. Surly PRP can€™t come back from here?
Storm 2 turns and rams into PRP and flips PRP over onto it€™s top, a quick self-right from Matt€™s machine, as Storm 2 gets ready to slam PRP across the arena, looking for the arena wall. PRP is pushed onto the spike. PRP is onto it€™s back, as Storm 2 carries on with the attack, and manages to pit PRP, as it self-rights down the open void.

Result: PRP hit, hit, and pitted, Storm 2 storms though to the semi finals.

Eep. Guess this depends on Franks set-up, but throughout, the basic plan is to stick to the sides of either bot and try to get one out of the ring. Failing that, open Pit and try to flip em in.

Spinning bar job. Much as I love Chaos 2 for its innovation, its weak armour and relative unreliability under punnishment make it the ideal target.
Tenderizers Revenge will ram Typhoon 2 with its wedge if it comes close, and try to slow it and overturn it, and if Jaws of Hell attacks, I will try to stay out of the pincers which it probably has and go for its sides unless theres a weapon there.
Its weapon is a tearere, which can double as pincirs. The idea is to puncture armour panels, and the edged blades seperate hydraulicly, creating a big-ass tear

From Scotland, the 9th seed and current robot wars champion, Typhoon 2. Entered by Andy, this real full bodied spinner needs no introduction, apart from it€™s 50kg spinning shell, powered by a chainsaw motor producing 20 KJ, which is enough to shock-kill pretty much anything that goes. 4 wheels and all drive comes as standard, as the speedy (16 mph) Scottish spinner hopes to repeat it€™s robot wars championship.
In Far 8: Made the final 16, beating No Damn Pushover, Ripper, and Eagle, before almost beating Son of Ripper before being flipped.
From England, Tenderizer€™s Revenge 2. Entered by Richard, this wedge has skirts all around which change with different areas, and an arm which can lift robots up. However the skirts can get damaged by spinning, so can the arm if hit hard enough, but the main body itself is as solid as a rock. Will the English tenderizer power it€™s way into semi final place?

The jaws are strong, but against the current crop of Hardox clad anti-spinners, Dave could find it hard to use the claws against. In addition, control could be a problem

Jaws of Hell and Typhoon 2 drives away from the starting line, as Tenderizers Revenge 2 is hanging back for a while before coming onto the attack, as Jaws of Hell slams into the side of Tenderizers Revenge 2 and pushes Richard€™s wedge sideways, Andy drives Typhoon 2 away from danger and to get it€™s shell up to half-speed to attack the sides of both robots when they decide to come and play. Dave€™s jaw fails to get a grip onto Tenderizers Revenge 2 but the jaws manage to make a cut in the skirt, as Richard turns and runs for it away from Jaws of Hell, and still Typhoon 2 is spinning, before coming in onto the attack, onto the closest thing to crazy, as Jaws of Hell rams Tenderizers Revenge 2 into the pit release button. The pit opens as things are not looking good for Tenderizers Revenge 2, as Typhoon 2 makes it€™s attack on the rear off Jaws of Hell, spinning both robots away.
Quick as a jack flash, Tenderizers Revenge 2 is free and moves in onto the attack of Typhoon 2, as Jaws of Hell is following Tenderizers Revenge 2, as Richard forces Typhoon 2 towards the wall, Jaws of Hell comes in, slamming into the rear skirt of Tenderizers Revenge 2, but pushes Tenderizers Revenge 2 into Typhoon 2. Both robots shake, as Andy presses the petrol restart button, as the engine on Typhoon 2 springs into life, but Tenderizers Revenge 2 lifts it€™s arm, as Typhoon 2 is rolled onto it€™s side. Jaws of Hell reverses and goes away, as Tenderizers Revenge 2 leaves Typhoon 2 along, on it€™s side, the inside spinning around
Ref is coming over to count out the seeded champion, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and there goes the red card.

Result: Typhoon 2 flipped, the 9th seed crashes out at this early stage, as the two un-seeded machines go forward.

NSBFR-X (24) vs. Chaos 2 vs. Windiest Killer
From Gainsborough, England, and 24th seed, NSBFR-X. Entered by the kind of retired Frank, he returns with the 4WD interchangeable robot, with a choice of 4 weapons. It is quick and has some solid armour, but the major problem for Frank is that NSBFR-X doesn€™t do that well in melees; will this be the downfall of the pusher?
In Far 8: beat Spinny Thing Recharged and Pinser before coming unstuck against No Close Shave.
From England, double robot wars champion and king of the 80kg weight, Chaos 2. Entered by Steve, in the final version before it was retired, Chaos 2 has the flipper which can flip another robot out of the arena, the drive which is pin sharp and fast across the arena. However against spinners and rammers poor old chaos might suffer as the wheels are so close to the side that it could repeat what happened in extreme 2.

From South Africa, Windiest Killer. Entered by Matt, this rammer robot is designed to be different. It is fast and has 5 interchangeable weapons. The armour is strong, but however the speed could be it€™s downfall. The drive can push all day and all night long with it€™s backup batteries, but against some robots it could find itself a problem.
In Far 8: (As Windy Killer Mk 2) lost to Tornado in round 1.

Windiest Killer is the first out of the zone and at once heads towards the weakness of the three robots, Chaos 2. Steve drives forward looking for a place where the flipper can get into play. Frank is waiting in the side lines with the spinning bar, ready to attack. Windiest Killer slams into Chaos 2€™s front, spiking the flipper, but Chaos 2 flips Windiest Killer over onto it€™s back, as NSBFR-X comes into play, hitting the sides of Chaos 2 with the bar.
Chaos 2 spins around, but look at the side, it€™s going around in a circle, as both robots are holding back, to give respect for the former robot wars champion, as Ref starts to come over, the two interchangeable robots spin, looking happy. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, and there goes the red card.

Result: Chaos 2€™s left wheel got stuck and thus the champion falls. NSBFR-X and Windiest Killer moves onto round 2.

Tactics, Predictions, did you like round 1?
Having actually done some research on the subject (I.e, asking people who know more than me) Ive found out Ti isnt as weak to carbon as some people believe. Anyway, use the scoop/latch combo and just shunt him around. I cant remember anything about the arena, but if any pits or hazards are present, I intend to make him greet them.
TR2 will use the usual tactics of trying to ram Windiest Killer in the sides and getting under him, then carrying him around. If I cant get round to his sides, Ill try the front or rear, and if he tries to push me, Ill put the skirts down to make it harder.
Torn between setups 1, 2 and 4...

The idea is, the positioning of them will make it a damn sight harder to push me from the sides. If he attacks at the back, I have enough speed and manouvreability to try and turn around and at the very least give him the side again. If he gets anywhere near the claws, then skirts up or down, he wont be able to get away without having something gripped, and as soon as weve done that, we have control of the fight.

Due to the discovery that Clover is Kody is Devon is Clover etc, we have taken the action in disqualifying them from the competition on grounds of sportsmanship. Their real robots will remain in place and to counter-act the 3 in a heat area, I have asked Chris and Tony to enter 3 robots each and their robot stats will be going up onto the FAR forum soon.
