Sorry Matty, but my vote goes to Tempest Evil-er-ution!
I vote for Hacked Off Ha-Ka, because it didnt beat me! :proud:
Seriously, I pick Tempest Evil-Oution because it did much more damage.
Man, cya guys.
Well, with HOH at least:sad:
Why is it, the less certain I am of a win, the more certain I am to get one?
...Maybe by adopting the McGregor aproach Ill be unbeatable?:proud:
Oh, and wooty final. Looks like it was a toughie to write.
Well, 2 is the best of 3, so...
TEMPEST EVIL-ER-UTION GOES THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!
Next time on VFT5, seventh seed Windiest Killer Just Got Windier will demonstrate to Cuffy, Orka Mk3 and Pink Panther just how much windier it is!
And 23rd seed Disco 5 will demonstrate some new dances of death to Bulldog Breed, Killer B and Starstorm 2!
Frank, how fast is Starstorm 2?
Windiest Killer Just Got Windier vs Cuffy vs Orka Mk3 vs Pink Panther
PP will be using the new Wedge of Doom style lifting arm for this fight. I will be aiming for Orka and try to lift him up, grapple him, open the pit, and drop him down it, then let the other 2 fight between themselves.
Disco 5 (23) (me) V Bulldog breed V Killer B V Starstorm 2
spin up and attack the robots with weakest armour and also try and flip them over and into the pit.
Sorry, Starstorm goes around 13-15 MPH.
Martyn wont be going after me thanks to my tough armour, so Ill either go after Bulldog or Killer B, whichever one Disco isnt going for. No sense getting in each others way. Ill basically aim to toss them so high, they break coming down:proud:
Tactics Time.
Matt, want to gang up?
Spin up the vertical disc and hit into the sides, over and over again until I break the self-righter or manage to rip away the tracks.
Bulldog Breeds Tactics:
Go for Killer B first and flip it over onto its side against the wall, and let the two spinners take care of it. Then I shall go for Disco 5 and manouver to its side, and quickly bring it down to the pit, I should be able to avoid Martys disc in this case. If Frank wants to team up, then Ill trap Disco 5 and Starstorm can come in with the flipper. I shouldnt have much problems with either of these plans. :)
HEAT D
ROUND 1
1) Cuffy VS Orka Mk 3 VS Pink Panther VS Windier Killer Just Got Windier (7)
I think Orka will take a pitting, with Cuffy following shortly after
2) Bulldog Breed VS Disco 5 (23) Killer B VS Starstorm 2
Disco takes out Killer B, while Starstorms domination over the Bulldog wins it and Discy through via a judges decision
...not as close a Heat Final as Id have hoped there, Richie :proud: Nice, all the same
Cuffy? Hes gangin up with me:P
Erm... basically what Dave said, and what I put in my provo tactics up top.
Hey Matty, if you were ever planning on using WKJGWs anti drum setup, Im afraid youre not allowed to use the entanglement nets. They wouldnt be allowed in RW, and I said in the rules that basic RW rules apply to anything I hadnt mentioned.
Welcome to VFT6, where after three heats and the closest judges decision in VFT history, everyones really getting warmed up for whats to come! Time to satisfy them a little with Heat D!
Seventh seed Windyest Killer Just Got Windier was a newcomer in VFT5, but it still managed to get to the top 8 - its speed, power and interchangability sorted out Maximum Velocity, Heir To Black Panther III and Scottish Fiction Mk2, but The Disc 2 then whacked it about to win a 38-22 judges decision! WKJGW remains an invertable box but there have been changes - its slowed its speed to 17.5mph, its no longer powered by petrol (although its still a good pusher) and its interchangable weapons are designed to combat other weapons - a spinning bar for axes, a wedge with a lifter for crushers, two wedges on the front and back for flippers and drums, a concave lifting wedge for FBSs, a scoop and spinning bar for horizontal spinners, a drill and extra panels for pincers, spikes for rammers, a wedge and drum for vertical spinners, Hardox panels for powerful spinners and a long wedge and bar for The Disc!
23rd seed Disco 5 made it to the heat final of VFT5, where SD IV stopped it in its tracks by slicing the skirts and wheels, allowing it to be pitted easily! Disco 5 comes to its third VFT, unchanged except for its wheels, which are now Vulcalon, so watch out SD IV! Its a low wedge with a vertical flywheel at the rear and a Firestorm style flipper/srimech at the front. Disco 5 also has sprung skirts and should push pretty well, but at 12.5mph its not too quick, and the lights at the disco could go out too soon for it!
Bulldog Breed has a good RW record, having reached two heat finals in the past, and the top 8 in RW7 - weve seen it beat robots like Bigger Brother, Kat 3 and Tough As Nails, and its taken tough competitors like Stinger, Hypnodisc and X Terminator to put it down! If only it had done so well in VFT5, where WX 5.0 and Birthday Party Pooper eliminated it in Round 1! Bulldog Breed is growling for revenge, and with its powerful flipper, it may well get it!
Cuffy is a box sloping towards the rear, rather like a reversed Raging Reality, but it doesnt have a flipper for a weapon - its got a 10kg vertical disc that wont leave opponents looking too smart when they touch it! Cuffys invertable but also has an interesting srimech, which tips up one side so the robot can wheelie itself over with its convex sides! It has optional side skirts, a top speed of 20mph and 5mm titanium, but the rear is open to attack!
Killer B began life as a heat finalist in the first series of Robotica, where eventual champion Run Amok sent it over the edge in the Fight To The Finish, then it decided to enter Battlebots, where it didnt get too far. Its a weaponless box wedge - its fast, manouverable, and runs inverted! But its wedge becomes ineffective when its overturned, and weve seen it be immobilised by the Battlebots pulveriser - will Killer B die once its stung?
Orka Mk3 is a Panzer Mk3-style robot who planned to enter VFT5 but dropped out, so weve yet to see what its capable of. And it could be capable of quite a lot, with its six tyres, dorsal fin srimech, 6mm titanium armour and electric scoop that can lift a bus! But its 12mph speed is nothing special and its hard to turn - will Orka Mk3 have to go back to hunting sealions after this?
Pink Panther is another 110kg tracked robot, and its another low wedge, but this one has interchangable weaponry - 2 Dominator 2 axes which can also have wedges fitted to work like flippers, a Terrorhurtz-like one-sided axe, a vertical spinning disc or a Wedge Of Doom-like lifting arm! Pink Panther has quad sprung skirts to keep flippers away, but it isnt invertable - it can use its weapons or a rollcage to selfright, but will that always work?
And Starstorm 2 is a new and original design - this dome with a spike coming out of the top, flips using its entire lid, which shoots upwards and can also selfright the robot with help from the spike! To help this unusual flipper, it has four skirts that can be raised when lowered, or lowered flat against the ground to bring most wedges onto it! Starstorm 2s motto is shoot it high, watch it die and it could be shooting for the VFT stars unless someones low enough to get under it or push it!
And now Windyest Killer Just Got Windier (using a wedge with a drum) will try to turn up the pressure with Cuffy, Orka Mk3 and Pink Panther (using its lifting arm)!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
WKJGW, Cuffy and Orka Mk3 all came running towards Pink Panther, who had its eye on Orka Mk3! But Cuffy reached it first and brought its disc into the polycarbonate sides! WKJGW also ran into Pink Panthers sides and pushed it around in a circle, failing to get past the skirts and use its drum! As WKJGW and Cuffy pinned Pink Panther against the wall, Orka Mk3 came in from behind, getting under the 7th seed and lifting it off the ground and onto Pink Panther! Pink Panther eagerly lifted WKJGW up with its own arm and began carrying it away, but Cuffy came after it and knocked WKJGW down with its disc! As WKJGW reversed away, Orka Mk3 came in on Cuffy and flipped it against the wall, but Cuffy began using its srimech to come back down, and an ungrateful Pink Panther turned to attack Orka Mk3! Orka Mk3 reversed, just avoiding the charging WKJGW, and went for Pink Panther, but it also had trouble with the skirts, and Pink Panther was able to turn and lift Orka Mk3s rear end! Orka Mk3 fell back down by flexing its scoop, and since Pink Panther had its arm up, it could reverse out of the way! Meanwhile, Cuffy had fallen back down and tried to help the inverted WKJGW by knocking it with its disc, tipping it but not righting it! It spun up and hit again, sending WKJGW over while only scratching the Hardox armour, but Orka Mk3 intercepted WKJGW and shoved it back into Cuffy hard, sending it bouncing towards Pink Panther!
WKJGW escaped Pink Panther, who was heading towards Orka Mk3, who had just been whacked in the scoop by Cuffy. Pink Panther successfully got under the disorientated Orka Mk3 and lifted it, only to be hit by Cuffy and have WKJGW attack from behind! Still gripping Orka Mk3, it carried it towards the pit release, but WKJGW shoved from behind and took it into the wall, knocking Orka Mk3 onto its side! It pinned them there as Cuffy lined itself up and hit both Pink Panther, and Orka Mk3s solid wheels, which held up! WKJGW continued struggling against Pink Panthers skirts, to no avail! Cuffy hit again, this time knocking Orka Mk3 loose so it could use its selfrighter to come down and escape! WKJGW and Cuffy ignored it and continued assaulting Pink Panther, WKJGW pinning while Cuffys disc cracked the polycarbonate! Orka Mk3 pressed the pit release and moved towards the trio of opponents - seeing this, WKJGW shifted to Pink Panthers side and tried to shove it into the pit, but Pink Panther fought against it and they turned away from the pit, while Cuffy used its speed to escape Orka Mk3!
WKJGW tried to shift again, and Pink Panther responded by trying an attack, but WKJGW was too quick for it and ran round it, getting to the rear and taking it into the wall! Orka Mk3 tried to join in, but Cuffy hit it in the side and tilted it, so it could hit the tyres again! Cuffy then started trying to knock Orka Mk3 towards the pit, but the pit closed before it could! WKJGW was still pinning Pink Panther, so Cuffy moved towards it and began trying to get through the polycarbonate again! Orka Mk3 ran round to the unoccupied side of Pink Panther and tried getting through itself, but again the skirts held up! Pink Panther finally found relief when the time limit on its pin was up and all three of its attackers moved away. It turned towards Orka Mk3, who reversed out of trouble, and then it suddenly found WKJGW smashing into the side and Cuffy slashing the rear! Orka Mk3 went for the pit release again, and WKJGW responded by running round to Pink Panthers front and trying to shove it into the pit, but again Pink Panther started turning away! Cuffy and Orka Mk3 went into its side and started whacking and shoving, but the pit closed before Pink Panther was in, so Orka Mk3 went for the release again while WKJGW shifted again to go to the side - and this time, Pink Panther did get underneath as it did so, and began lifting, but Cuffy helped out the 7th seed again, knocking it down and allowing it to escape, so both could run into Pink Panther side on again! Orka Mk3 returned to help, and with three robots attacking it, Pink Panther could do nothing to avoid falling into the pit! Orka Mk3 then turned towards Cuffy and lifted it over with the scoop onto WKJGWs wedge, and the drum unintentionally sent Cuffy flying down to join Pink Panther, just before the pit closed!
CEASE!
Cuffy and Pink Panther are eliminated!
WINDYEST KILLER JUST GOT WINDIER AND ORKA MK3 GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Now Disco 5, Bulldog Breed, Killer B and Starstorm 2 are all in the arena and set to kill!
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Disco 5 turned around and aimed for Bulldog Breed, who went for Killer B, who ran round towards Disco 5 while Starstorm 2 chased it! Seeing the oncoming Killer B, Disco 5 turned its disc around to hit it, but Killer B dodged and went into the side - the low wedge didnt go under the sprung skirts, but it slowly turned Disco 5 around in a circle! Unfortunately, this exposed it to Bulldog Breed, who came straight underneath and tossed it against the wall - only to find itself cornered by Disco 5 and Starstorm 2! Getting underneath, Starstorm 2s lid came up and Bulldog Breed was thrown away onto its back! Starstorm 2 then came under the stranded Killer B, knocked it a little so fell onto the wedge, and tossed it as well before Disco 5 had a chance to strike! The two Vapourbots headed toward the two real robots, and Killer B came to meet them, while Bulldog Breed tried to attack it. Killer B shoved it hard into the wall before reversing to run at Starstorm 2, and desperately pushing its low wedge against the flat skirt! Bulldog Breed moved towards it - and got a sideful of disc from Disco 5, tilting it! The 23rd seed hit again, overturning Bulldog Breed, and as the flipper selfrighted, it hit it, damaging but not disabling it! Meanwhile, Killer B had pushed Starstorm 2 into the wall, next to Disco 5, but Bulldog Breed was advancing on the 23rd seed and running into its side, not getting past the skirts but pushing it a bit!
As Bulldog Breed came round in a curved path, it came over the skirt of Starstorm 2, who broke away from Killer B, brought its lid under Bulldog Breed and flipped it, sending it bouncing! Disco 5 reversed to follow it, as Killer B reversed into the pit release and came back towards Starstorm 2, who ran away from the pit area and found Killer B slamming into its rear! Starstorm 2 broke away again, and Killer B ran forward a short distance, exposing its side - it regretted that seconds later when Starstorm 2 catapulted it towards the wall and inverted it! Meanwhile, Disco 5 had got its wedge under Bulldog Breed and brought it up to the disc, turning it over and ripping a tyre! Bulldog Breed selfrighted again, only to be hit in the flipper again by the 23rd seed! Back on its wheels, it ran around Disco 5, who suddenly got a shock as Killer B brought its rear into its side and shoved it around! Again, this exposed it to Bulldog Breed, who flipped Killer B but failed to get it against the wall! Right side up, Killer B ran, while Disco 5 thanked Bulldog Breed by overturning it against the wall then hitting the underbelly with the disc! Landing with its rear facing the wall, Bulldog Breed tried selfrighting, but the wall prevented it from doing so, and it provided an oppotunity for Disco 5 to hit the flipper again! Turned around, Bulldog Breed selfrighted onto Disco 5s disc, knocking it against the wall, and when it selfrighted again, it recieved another hit from the disc and the flipper was finally disabled! Bulldog Breed tried to run, but Disco 5 successfully got underneath and flipped it over - seeing the flipper was stuck in position, it left Bulldog Breed for dead and joined Starstorm 2 in chasing Killer B!
Killer B ran into Starstorm 2 again and began to slowly push it towards the pit area, while Disco 5 brought its disc towards Killer Bs side! Killer B reversed to avoid it, then ran into Disco 5s side and began shoving towards the closed pit! Starstorm 2 followed, and before they reached the pit, it came under Killer Bs rear and used the lid again to throw Killer B away, overturning it and causing it to land on the pit! Disco 5 and Starstorm 2 both moved towards the pit release, but Killer B was soon away and running towards the pit release itself, as the Vapourbots cautiously followed. Running around Starstorm 2, Killer B got its rear into Disco 5 but it was facing away from the pit, and it had to break away to avoid a tossing by Starstorm 2! Running back to the other side, Killer B just dodged Disco 5s attempt to get underneath, and got into the other side to push the 23rd seed, but the pit closed, and Starstorm 2 approached from the front! As Killer B tried to escape, Disco 5 got underneath and brought it up to the disc, leaving it tilted on the arena floor and easy prey for Starstorm 2! Killer B soon found itself tossed, landing right side up and managing to avoid internals breaking! Running towards the advancing Vapours, it ran into Disco 5s side again and shoved towards the closed pit, while Starstorm 2 again approached from behind! Taking the 23rd seed into the corner of doom, Killer B reversed, ran over Starstorm 2s skirt and just avoided the deadly lid, but time ran out before anything more could be done! The judges would have to decide between Disco 5, Killer B and Starstorm 2!
CEASE!

Final Score: Disco 5 - 29, Killer B - 14, Starstorm 2 - 17
Bulldog Breed and Killer B are eliminated!
DISCO 5 AND STARSTORM 2 GO THROUGH TO ROUND 2!
Heat D, Round 2:
Windiest Killer Just Got Windier (7) vs Starstorm 2
Disco 5 (23) vs Orka Mk3
Dang!! Ive a bad feeling Im not gonna many wins in this contest, if my win/loss ratio consists of mostly losses, Ill take a sabbatical for a month after my remaining entries have lost.
Anti-flipper weapon, shunt them around with the wedges, either sliding underneath or grinding against the skirts and trying to outpush them. If that fails, just wait for them to mistime a flip, slide underneath the flipper and push, keeping the flipper in the air.
Little Note Rich:
quote:
Im afraid youre not allowed to use the entanglement nets. They wouldnt be allowed in RW
If you look at the rules, there is nothing about entanglement weapons, people always assumed that there was a rule, because it was in America, but no rule existed in the rules for UK RW.
Wooty fight anyhow. May I ask, how can Orka move around the arena without motors?
As the fight begins, immediately head towards him with the front skirt down completely. In fact, keep both front and rear skirts lowered for the entire fight. If he gets to a side, lower that skirt before he can turn, it should only be a second before its totally lowered, and when a skirt is lowered 100%, nothing is getting under it... Except maybe for bloody Razer, but they get under everything anyway:proud:
With the skirts lowered, I should easily get under him, so just keep getting under him and throwing him around and wait for him to break down out of shock. If he comes right at me, just wait for him to slide over the skirts and launch
quote:
May I ask, how can Orka move around the arena without motors?
Pixies and fairies, obviously!
So how does Diotoir move, when HE only has 3x 12v batteries? Its one of those things, get over it. Its power.
Anyways, my tactics will be to drive underneath anywhere I can find, then flip and push around.
disco shall spin the disc up and try and hit it zand break it i shall also try to flip it into the pit
Now for Windiest Killer Just Got Windier (using two wedges) and Starstorm 2 to fight for a place in the heat final?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
It looked like the two robots would collide in the arena centre, until WKJGW turned to the side of Starstorm 2, who put its side skirt down! WKJGW shoved against the skirt, unable to get under it, but still managed to shove Starstorm 2 round, into the wall! WKJGW continued shoving as Starstorm 2 struggled to escape, and eventually, it wriggled its way out, then quickly turned as WKJGW continued going forward into the wall! Soon under the side, Starstorm 2 blew its top and threw WKJGW straight upwards! As the 7th seed came down again and bounced on the floor, Starstorm 2 quickly came underneath and catapulted it again! Landing some distance from Starstorm 2, WKJGW was able to dodge the advance, then get to Starstorm 2s side and ram it into the arena disc, which did little damage to the Hardox armour! Skimming to one side of WKJGW, Starstorm 2 rushed in, but WKJGW escaped, and Starstorm 2 was in the perfect position to be sent into the arena disc again! Turning as Starstorm 2 flew off into the wall, WKJGW managed to meet it with the wedge and ram it against the wall again, pinning it! Starstorm 2 started a slow escape again, but WKJGW saw it doing so this time, and shifted. Unfortunately, Starstorm 2 escaped before it could be rammed against the wall again, but it could be rammed from behind, taking it into the disc again!
Upon impact, Starstorm 2 knocked against WKJGW and ended up behind it. WKJGW tried running round it to bring its front wedge into play, and Starstorm 2 ran for the sides, but it only managed to catch the inverted wedge as it flipped, sending WKJGW up on its front and onto its back! Turning around to use its correct wedge, WKJGW rammed Starstorm 2 again, pushing it backwards, and once again they met the wall! Not side on against the wall, Starstorm 2 couldnt escape, and WKJGW could pin it there for the full 30 seconds, after which it was forced to back off. Starstorm 2 came straight back out to attack WKJGWs sides, and the 7th seed also went for Starstorm 2s sides, but the domed robot again slipped under the inverted wedge, the lid went up, and WKJGW ended up propped against the wall, helpless! Starstorm 2 just watched gleefully for a few seconds, then came in from the sides so WKJGW fell onto it, and did a proper throw, sending WKJGW to an entertaining height and almost catching it as it came down, but WKJGW recovered just in time and Starstorm 2s lid came up to flip thin air! WKJGW turned into the side of Starstorm 2 again, and as it pushed, they grazed the west wall, and ended up against the north wall! Not wanting to be flipped again, WKJGW tried to take Starstorm 2 into the pit release, but it pushed on a curved path and it only nudged the release itself! It tried to shift to get in the right position, but Starstorm 2 immediately retreated! However, the seventh seed was able to catch up and quickly ram Starstorm 2 from the side, back towards the pit! WKJGW edged its opponent along the wall, bringing it over the pit. Starstorm 2 began toppling in - and the pit started closing, with Starstorm 2s body preventing it from closing all the way! WKJGW quickly reversed back into the pit release, the lid retracted, and down went Starstorm 2!
CEASE!
WINDIEST KILLER JUST GOT WINDIER GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Now will Disco 5 or Orka Mk3 get through as well?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Disco 5 paused to spin up its disc as Orka Mk3 came running towards it, then came to greet it. Orka Mk3 ran full on into the sides, but was halted by the sprung skirts, and this allowed Disco 5 to move forwards then turn into it, striking with the disc and tilting it! Another disc hit took Orka Mk3 onto its back - it quickly used its dorsal fin to selfright, but Disco 5 had already got underneath with its wedge and was shoving it towards the pit release! Fortunately, Orka Mk3s large wheels allowed it to drive off the wedge, but Disco 5 fired its flipper as it was doing so, and Orka Mk3 almost ended up on its back again! This bought the 23rd seed enough time to get under again and roll Orka Mk3 fully onto its back, then ram it into the release as it was selfrighting! Ending up against the wall, Orka Mk3 ran along it and slipped back to the floor, to find itself facing an advancing Disco 5! Orka Mk3 ran straight towards it for a moment, then turned into the sides, pinning Disco 5 against the wall but still not getting past the skirting! So it decided to try and get under the disc, bringing its scoop in and firing! The scoop took a scratch, but Disco 5 was tilted forwards, and Orka Mk3 was quickly able to catch up and get underneath! A straight push took Disco 5 to the arena disc, and Orka Mk3 flipped the 23rd seed into it for extra pleasure! Disco 5 flew away, landed on its side and started falling back onto its wheels - but not fast enough to escape Orka Mk3 getting back underneath the gap, and then ramming it into the wall! Orka Mk3 used its scoop again, but this caused Disco 5s disc to touch the wall and send it bouncing off, pushing Orka Mk3 back and landing on its wheels!
Orka Mk3 quickly ran back into Disco 5, who turned so it ran up the wedge! Before it could run back off, Orka Mk3 found itself flipped! Disco 5 slipped under again as it selfrighted and it looked like another trip to the release, but again Orka Mk3 drove off and ran into Disco 5s side! Orka Mk3 turned to get under the disc just as Disco 5 turned the disc into it and tilted it up before the scoop could be fired! Again, the disc rolled Orka Mk3 over, and as the inverted robot turned itself back over, it went straight back into the disc! Disco 5 continued pressurising Orka Mk3, until it was up against the wall! Once this happened, another disc strike to the now slightly dented underbelly knocked Orka Mk3 upwards, on top of the 23rd seed, and the disc caused it to fall off, so it could run directly into the 23rd seeds side and push! The shove was successful until they reached the east wall, which Disco 5s flywheel touched, causing it to bounce out of Orka Mk3s grip! It immediately reversed to use the spinning weapon, but Orka Mk3 ran head on into it and flipped, tilting Disco 5 all the way onto its back! Orka Mk3 ran in to push it, and accidentally ran up Disco 5s underbelly! When Disco 5 tossed itself back over, it pushed Orka Mk3 back off and landed on the scoop! It was easy prey for Orka Mk3, who took it round into the pit release! Disco 5 fell to one side, but not enough to escape, and Orka Mk3 had soon condemned it to the pit!
CEASE!
ORKA MK3 GOES THROUGH TO THE HEAT FINAL!
Heat D Final:
Windiest Killer Just Got Windier (7) vs Orka Mk3
Anti vertical disc weapons, slide underneath the 2mm side clearance and keep ramming. If were overturned, I think were higher than them, so use the front wedge to overhang their sides and hammer down on the inner wheels. Once were underneath, and weve done a bit of damage, turn the drum off and udmp them down the big black ole.
hmmm, if im right after this i have 6 heats in a row, good good.
The fourth heat final - will Matty with Windiest Killer Just Got Windier (with the wedge and drum again), or Chris with Orka Mk3, get their first VFT6 semifinalist?
3, 2, 1 - ACTIVATE!
Both robots came into the centre of the arena and aimed to get under the sides of the opponent. The spinning dance lasted a few seconds before WKJGWs superior speed won out and it came underneath Orka Mk3, the drum whacking the centre and rear right wheels and tilting the robot! WKJGW came further underneath, tilting Orka Mk3 some more but not flipping it, and found itself with Orka Mk3 on top of its body! But Orka Mk3 was able to reverse off and then run for WKJGWs sides, but the 7th seed moved too quickly and then came back round to attack! There was a head on collision, and both robots began pushing back and forth, but neither seemed to be winning out! So WKJGW swerved in reverse, and as Orka Mk3 came forward, its side was exposed to the drum! The robot attached to the drum rammed Orka Mk3 with it, pinning it against the wall and scratching the solid tyres! Bouncing up and down on the drum, Orka Mk3 just managed to drive off, but WKJGW responded quickly and came in from behind, the drum pitching Orka Mk3 forwards so WKJGW could catch it on its body again, and this time successfully drive it into a corner! Its wheels off the ground, unable to escape, Orka Mk3 had to endure the punishment of WKJGWs drum, but the 6mm titanium did just that, only being scratched!
Eventually, Orka Mk3s tyres just managed to touch WKJGWs body and it drove off, and immediately turned into the sides of the 7th seed! WKJGW reversed, but Orka Mk3 caught the front side and lifted! As WKJGW was lifted off the ground, Orka Mk3 came in from the side again and tilted it against the wall! WKJGW quickly began sliding down, so Orka Mk3 attacked from the rear to pin it in the corner, but this allowed WKJGWs drum to touch the ground, causing it to bounce out of Orka Mk3s grip! WKJGW ran into Orka Mk3s side, but with the inverted wedge, the drum only just managed to touch the armour! Orka Mk3 turned towards WKJGWs sides again, but WKJGW was still faster and kept itself on Orka Mk3s sides, but could do little damage! So it turned to use its rear to push Orka Mk3 side on, but this allowed Orka Mk3 to catch its side! The unseeded robot immediately began pushing WKJGW towards the pit release, and the seventh seed couldnt do anything to stop Orka Mk3 pushing it down the pit, so enthusiastically it almost drove in itself! Orka Mk3 was the first unseeded semifinalist in VFT6!
CEASE!
ORKA MK3 GOES THROUGH TO THE SEMI FINALS!
Next time on VFT6, ninth seed Son Of Ripper 4.0 makes another attempt to reclaim its title - can it get past Back On The Chain Gang, Juggerbee 3.0 and Rippoff Yet Again?
And 25th seed Achilles will try to find the weak spots on Chip, Hefty Kick In The Balls and Surgeon General!
A non-seed thro at last! :proud:
HEAT E
ROUND 1
1) Back on the Chain Gang VS Juggerbee 3.0 VS Rippoff Yet Again! VS Son of Ripper 4.0 (9)
Ill take Chain Gang to take Juggerbee to the Pit, while Son of Ripper flicks Rippoff around to win a JD
2) Achilles (25) VS Chip VS Hefty Kick in the Balls VS Surgeon General
The seed throws the General around before Pitting it, while Hefty Kick turns Chip into chips! :proud:
Cosmic stuff thus far, Mr Southworth
Ill just re-post the tactics I gave earlier. :)
Son Of Ripper 4.0 (9) vs Back On The Chain Gang vs Juggerbee 3.0 vs Rippoff Yet Again
For the first time I can safely spin my rear disc up and keep it spinning safely for the whole fight! I am going for Rippoff Yet Again first, slide the front flipper blade under and toss it over hopefully stalling the ring. Then I€™m going to have to go for Juggerbee 3.0, being the less powerful pusher. Hopefully my disc will slice through its armour and I can get through to something inside.
I have a better idea, why dont you go for Jugerbee 3.0 first, while I go after Back On The Chain Gang! Ill attack its vulnerable wheels, which should leave it immobile, then if you have not taken out Juggerbee 3.0, I shall help you take it out and it should either end up be pitted or immobile, now I think thats a way better idea! :)
Or an even better one, you shut up and stop trying to change peoples tactics, while I go around shoving and discing anything that gets in my way, preferable leaving SoR alone.
Ill turn Chip into chips, while my partner-in-crime for the NSBFL makes sure that the General will need a surgeon after the battle :proud:
Waaaaa-Hoooooo!
Well, at least ONE of my robots has gone through, or done well. You might as well have all my other robots lose on round 1.
DONT! I was being sarcastic. You do what you think should happen to them. Just ignore what I said!
Anyways, Juggerbee 3.0 will slot his flipper under the robot with the highest ground clearance, then flip, ram and pit.
LOL to Chriss comments! :proud:
And YOU shut up Matt, Im not changing anybodys tactics, Im just making suggestions!
Anyways, Juggerbee 3.0 will slot his flipper under the robot with the highest ground clearance, then flip, ram and pit.
I beleive that may be SOR, flip, ram and pit me at your peril! :proud:
And sorry Matt, SOR isnt friendly with full body spinners, so Im still going to try and take you out of the heat as early as possible.
Fine then, Im only in this tourney because somebody wouldnt stop bothering me to enter it until I entered it.
OK AJ, Ill attack the robot with the SECOND highest ground clearance.
That would probably be BOTCG.
Actually, that would be ripoff, 4mm to 2mm
Doesnt matter, as that spinner will probably send Juggerbee 3.0 into shreds.
OK, Mr confident-who-always-tells-other-people-not-to-be-so-confident-then-acts-all-con fident-and-has-done-for-several-rounds-now-which-usually-results-in-him-losing.
Are you talking to me or Matt?
Hmm, not only is that not true Chris, but Im expecting Ripoff Yet Again! to lose (THAT doesnt mean make it lose because I said that Rich!), its my worst design built.
