BING!
Geoff :
Congrats. to Ripper for winning the heavy comp. (Although some people may be tempted to cry fixed )
Hmmm, i would LOVE to know how that fight could have been called a fix with Dantomkia being flipped over 20 times, with Ripper flying only once or twice, THEN Dantomkia sitting inverted with no gas to self right.
Tim- no one else had a problem mate, if anything, they all picked on Kan-Opener. LOL!! Pillow Torque ramming into Kan-Opener, and G3 even Lifting it a few times with their flipper. Kan-Opener had one trashed motor and wasnt 100% mobile anyway, unless you drove into the claws all the time, no one else had a problem mate.
Time for real Arena Hazzards at Round 2 :)
The Points scoring system going online tonight, stay tuned.

BING!!!!!
What an Event - Rates up there with Preston for atmosphere. Great Fights, Great crowd, Some good judging from The internationally acclaimed Judge Mr. Stu. All I can hope is that the rest of the tour keeps up the standard.
Look forward to seeing everyone this side of the border for the next round - all except for Bing, whose photo has been circulated around all Edinburgh accomodation.
Roger.
cheers roger, thanks everyone involved for a great event but i would just like to say what a great job jonnos mum did, i think shes a star on the mic. also to the sound lads doing a great job too.
shane
i wont even do a bing cos i heard the origional. :)
Some good judging from The internationally acclaimed Judge Mr. Stu
LOL! What was gary on when he said that over the mic.
Glad the judging was ok, roll on Round 2 - which some more improvments.
Mr Stu
Stu,
Lighten up mate, It was said in humour (hence the smilie!) it could have seemed a little coincidental that the robot belonging to your employer won when you were the judge!! :)
Also I think I have to agree with Tim, maybe a semi out of control Kan-opener was not the best thing to put in the arena with the feathers, they efectivly put Scorpion Jr out for the rest of the day after hitting and shorting our NI-cads after inserting one of the claws INSIDE the machine. Not to mention tearing 3 wires off the top of the Vantec and leaving an impresion of the tip of the claw in its case!! (That was too close for comfort thank you )!
Other than that, as I said eariler, exellent event guys.
Dantomkia was well whooped by Ripper. There is no way that anyone can say fixed!!!!
watch out Jonno for when I get my wingman back and then I can concentrate on driving and leave the mundane stuf such as weapons / tail etc to him. That will be a different story then...................
Mike or Mr. Luurrrrrve
BTW, check out my profile for a piccy of Jonno after Amanda got him home for staying out with the Thor / Air / Mute boys. Jonno was a little worse for wear. No, correction, he was a HUGE amount the worse for wear on Sunday morning. Much to Mr. Hoppits disgust!!!!!!
Hi Guys :)
It was superb weekend, miffed we missed the drinking binge, but that will be corrected next time, we may end up at the same hotel as everyone else next time so we can fully understand the meaning of life the universe and Bing! bg
It was a super outing for Chompie and us (and we didnt break down once, nor was our damage self inflicted this time hehe). Thanks to everyone that was gentle with us. Has to be said that our main damage was in the last fight of the event for us, done by the over zealous house robot who popped our tyre and almost trashed the ni-cads. Anyway he didnt and well see everyone up North in a few weeks, really looking forward to it.
PS My foots only got a little bruise :)
Ooops forgot to say congrats to Pillow Torque on winning the Newport featherweight trophy, Im tipping the Pig for big things. Dont forget about the Pigs points Mr Stu or Ill forget to have my coffee g
Oh Dear, thanks for reminding me - better add the points for the Pigs.
Geoff - yeah i know you was mate - you know me better than that :) - *COUGH* was not a fix *COUGH*.
HEHE - yeah it was a good event, and i agree, Mr Kan-Opener may have wanted to get revenge on any bot he could - only coz he lost a bosch motor - Least Ripper and Storm 2 have him a bashing and flipping in their fights :)
Anyway notice - The Points Scoring Page is up at http://www.roamingrobots.co.uk/wintertour2004_points.htmhttp://www.roamingrobots.co.uk/winte...004_points.htm
The PINK PIG has the same amount of point as Thor and Kan-Opener and Merlin and St Agro!!! GO PINK PIG!!!
The Lists of Robots exspecting to attend Round 2-5 have all been updated - could ALL roboteers wishing to attend, PLEASE check that their robot is ON the list. If not contact events@roamingrobots.co.uk ASAP.

Not forgetting....theres Pink Pig Jnr :proud:
Ill try and get it to Geoff for the next round as Ill probably be unable to make that because of David having had his op by then (hopefully)
The problem with Scorpion Jr was I think very much the same as Bernie. Kanopeners claw entered through the gap left by a nonrunning spinner and did a fair amount of damage whilst in there. Not being able to run spinners was OK until I encountered a claw long enough to get through the gap and 18 inches inside the bot ;( I quite simply hadnt anticpated meeting such a weopon as no feather has anything like it to my knowledge.
Never mind things are looking up it may just be possible to fit the new motors into the existing design, so I may make Edinburgh after all ;)
Sadly if they dont fit I dont think Ill be buying two smaller motors for just one or two events before the new chassis is built ;(
Yep, thats exactly what happened Tim.
The only thing I can say about that cat is.....
How? and Why?
The cat is bizarre isnt it?
I cant guess how or why, but it would take a bigger fool than me to try and do that to a ball of hissing spitting fur ;)

Were at the Premierlodge in Edinburgh on the Friday night then at the Inveresk Travel Inn on Saturday & Sunday.
Were at the Holiday Inn Express waterfront on Friday, Saturday & Sunday nights.
Which only leaves one question...Were is Mr BING staying ??!! :proud:
Mr Bing is not coming to Edinburgh, but will be at the rest. So we get a weekend of free use of the lift!
Mr Stu
Oh Dear, what have I done? Travel Inn has another guest.
Mike.
I have eventually got around to posting.
The weekend in Wales, Monday in Holland, now in Belgium, tomorrow in France......back home on Thursday. I€™ve now had time to think about what a great weekend we all had.
The crowds and battles were some of the best I have enjoyed so far. Well done to Jonno, not only for Ripper€™s performance, but also for the whole event. I am sure the winter tour will be a great success, and the public interest is certainly still there. The Robodome arena has the potential to make this a truly great spectacle for the audience, and with the addition of some house robots or arena effects I think there is still a great future for our hobby / sport.
Apologies to the Chronic Team for throwing them out of the arena, but having never done it before the temptation was too great!
EWE2 suffered from €˜chain coming off€™ problems again which I hope to have sorted before Edinburgh.
Congratulations to Pillow Talk for dominating the featherweights at the weekend. If I have time to sort out the drive on Cutlet I would love to have a battle at some point on the tour to see whether your awesome pushing power can out do the FP flipper.
Jenny your driving is getting too good!
And my final thought on the event goes to Shane...............
Bing!
Ian
Ian, not a problem. Ill try and return the favour at Worcester :)
Dave
Admit it Ian, you are a bad bad boy.
Good boy Mikey.
Do we get any Apologies? We went out twice :)
Mike is just a bad boy always, and never apologies. LOL!!!
Bad Boy. LOL!
Mr Stu
Good boy Mikey - i dont think so! i seem to remember jumping back as Mute came flying out of the arena towards me!
even though i dont have my bot ready for the event am i still allowed in before the show starts?
Mark, you knows I loves yah. Ok, sorry for dumping you over the wall ( once mind. Not twice )
Alan, that shows why people should stand away from fencing only to well.
Slapped wrist Mikey.
Alistair, the public are allowd in 1 hour before the show starts. Sounds a long hour to wait, but it gives everyone plenty of time to look around the stalls and meet the roboteers before the show starts. So you got plenty of time Alistair.

Report and pics for Newport (and events missed out) now online. go on http://www.teammad.co.ukwww.teammad.co.uk - events - Winter tour - newport.
Mike,
You are a bad boy and always will be in my mind. I believe you have been diagnosed as having PCRM (Paul Cooper Red Mist)....There is no cure!!!! But you are not alone...Steve from Ripper has it too! (although his is more of a nervous reaction whenever a robot comes within a metre of their big scoop!)
Cya in Edinburgh
Ian
In the words of John Wayne never appologies mister its a sign of weakness

Hi Guys,
It has been suggested by a certain robot team, be interesting to have a guess who€¦.. that we turn Kings Lynn into a spooky Halloween event, with roboteers dressing up to suit.
Sounds like fun€¦.. who€™s up for it?
Jonno
Mikey dont need dressing up.
Mr Stu
Corney i know - but its true :proud:
Jenny (PIllow Torque) bring your colour hair spary! Put me down for green and blue :)
weve got Old Man Merlin, will he do as he is?
Its a shame that Davids glow-in-the-dark skeleton PJs no longer fit him. Anyway he hates halloween but Ill see what I can persuade him to do.
Now all I have to do is find some for me :)
And Stu, you are so so right about Mikey, the very thought that he would be there scares the crud out of me
hmmmm yes, great. !!!!
Were up for this one ::cackles:: I can wear my normal clothes for a change. Will dress Chompie up and Si can be a vampire or something.
I just had a rather odd flash... all the roboteer blokes dressed as Dr Frank N Furter from Rocky Horror Picture Show, I can see the Thor guys in fishnets... Off to have a lie down in a padded room I feel rather strange!
