ENVY

Good luck in America. Can I ask how well cope with Americas massive spinners. We can cope with flying 6ft into the air, but do you think we can stand-up to some of their super-spinners?

if they rly rly want european robots over either battlebots or ESPN are going to have to pay for us aswel and that means were all going to be fighting to go over :P

if we are able to flip them out of the arena then it wont be hard

we will just have to top up with armor

We could pull together and use the combined engineering ability (?) of everyone to create a deployable, portable pit that would fit in the back of a robot :proud:

And Id actually have imagined the forces of being flipped really high and being hit by a spinner were similar, could be wrong though.

spinners wouldnt worry envys 5mm hardox. but then they wouldnt invite envy as it is a wedge shape and its not what they are looking for. thor on the other hand might fair better. again hardox front end and i hit with that hammer and their spinner will be beaten. i guess that was the idea behind beta, mabee john will give it another go.

shane - if they dont want flipper then all there gonna get is spinners vs axes vs sewer snake?

just watched a vid. it would be difficult to handle with 6 wheels but with a bit of good driving it wouldnt be too difficult to beat. still your right it would be a good battle.

beast beat sewer snake at uk champs 2006

that was the old beast tho and that was 10 times better then new 1

the last fight with that robot we beat thz with his axe full on and then we stuck thz back in the arena after we flipper it out :P

hope to have a buffer in envy for the next event. should help stop the freezing.

just for the record sewer snake was in a porley postion when we had a play ( 1/2 drive on one side) so its not fair to say we beat it.

What are/were the seven robots youve built Mr.Swan?
I know Envy, Trax and Hells Teeth but thats all.

hells teeth 1,2 and 3 were all different robots just the same name, trax, air, 2 versions of envy. hells teeth 1 only the very few will remember with the pink chassis. hells teeth 2 was the one that appeared on the tv, and then there was hells teeth 4wd. trax you have seen, air was an attempt at a mega flipper but failed. still hit roaming robots roof with another robot tho and it did have potential. envy 1 was a front hinge flipper and the envy now is a total rebuild of the origional which sits in jonnos workshop waiting to be rebuilt which might happen and might not. answer your question ok there Liam :)

Thanks!I thought Trax could have done better in robot wars 7, but was unlucky to get drawn up against Storm II so early on...

we just didnt realise trax would have no grip at all. on that fight we welded blobs onto the tracks and filed them to a point but still no grip. also in doing that it lifted the scoop up off the floor so we had no chance of getting under storm2. still all history now :)

No, I was more thinking something youd find in a pub :proud: a beer fridge or something...

air is the only robot to flip another 100kg robot and hit the roaming robots roof. also flipped a feather through the roof which was naughty. i should have developed air but life threw bad times at me. the ram in air is now the arena flipper ram in the roaming robots arena. it did look wierd i grant you that but it had the potential to be an awesome flipper.

life got a bit harsh mate. split up with wife and stuff. just had time out. also it was costing a fortune trying to get it right. just lost interest and had much needed time out

suppose an update on envy due in envy thread. power return fitted, hardox flipper done, all nuts swapped for nylocks, buffer tank fitted, new solonoid valve and fittings and pipe, rewire in progress and just waiting for new ali armour. :)

kody if you read this can you post a link to envys render you did please. just for people that are interested.

i thought about doing usa but the cost at the mo and a new baby doesnt add up. Liam Liam is talking about envy i promised him a drive at the uk champs when envy goes out.
