Microship ues EV Warrior on a heavy disc, over 1kg, proberly 2kg not sure. A V Belt Drive like he uses would be near enough perfect. It seemed to get up to speed very quick without slipping. Was very good.
Mr Stu
meant microCHIP - cant be assed to edit post.
Mr Stu
....but was assed (sic) to do whole new post :)
I cant afford to finish off micro-maul, let alone buy an astro at the moment  Ill see how it goes for now, luckily I should have quite alot of testing time before Magna
Oh, Ive just had a brainwave... Does anyone know what motor Tantrum and that nasty looking vertical spinner use? (both I saw at RC Wars a few months back)
I have an EV warrior motor with two custom CNC mounts (without the heatsink)
http://www.robotcombat.com/marketplace_mounts.htmlhttp://www.robotcombat.com/marketplace_mounts.html
...that I could sell or swop. Im looking for 3mm hardox, Ti sheet 1mm, and speed controllers (after blowing up my H5s in Aberystwyth)
I use that weapon set up in microCHIP and its very powerful @ 24v
Team Vertex featherweight, Vertical Limits has a 200mm 3.45+kg flywheel powered by a 300psi compressor (Mini EV) and it spin up pretty fast (under 5 secs for 63%).
If anyone wants to see a video of it against a concrete brick, just email me at: knightrousoxide (at) gmail.com
Picture also on my profile.
Ewan,
Tantrum and Wayne cummings feather (think it was called preditor?) both used the same type of car fan motor, Very powerfull ones. Carnt remeber what they are from but Ill let you know...
Dave, its ok, Jamez has told me
Im going forward with tests on the 12v Gold for now. Ill post vids on my website in a couple of weeks.
Yeah but Andrew - you guys are cheating as your all using 13.6kg - cheats! LOL!
Mr Stu
Andrews my team mate :proud:. We went to 13.6kg since the US manage to run some international event and a lot of us would like to jump the pond once in a while.
VL was made for under $50AUD excluding IBC and Radio gear. If we had a few $$$, VL could make the 12kg limit.
thats a thing i have been wandering . Is there any news on the feather weight , weight limit . Is it still 12kg or aare we moving with the changes and making it 13.6 kg ?
Speaking to alot of the UK roboteers - i personaly think it sounds like it may stay at 12kg - the true feather weight - weight limit.
Mr Stu
Any possable changes to the weight limit are due to be discussed at the next FRA committee meting, due to take place on 12/02/05.
We will let you all know the outcome shortly afterwards.
If you want your views on this subject to be taken into account, please contact your regional rep before the meeting. (contact details are on the FRA web-site)
Part your regional reps job is to pass YOUR views on to the committee, so please use them and make sure that YOU have YOUR say as to how our sport should develop.

Hey if Zeros going to Sheffield it can meet up with Conundrum Mk1. Zero looks like a good base to start with, wish i could have built mine as good as Zero.

bit of a change to kang, changed most of drive over to two ride on kiddy car drives with collosal drive motors and big wheels, speed is average but pushing power = OMG!
bit of a progress picture.

wedge is mounted, saw is mounted, most of the guts are done (mounted to the lid) but the side and front armour still needs doing.
also some pics of the kiddy car gearboxes which are pretty nifty, lighter than drills too and stronger. much slower tho :)

Ewan, I being very serious here for a moment..If your hardox disc is anywhere near the size /weight of the disc I saw at Magna then you will need a good bit more that a 2:1 reduction on your Astroflight 40!..Trust me on this one Ewan, I know that motor inside out and I guarantee that at 2:1 you WILL cook it very quickly!
Ill talk to you about it at Denbigh at the weekend.
Geoff.
we cooked one in san fran, interesting smells come out of it. That was with a 5kg disc at a 4:1 reduction if i remember correctly for 3 minutes.
hmm, im still learning, what are the specs (weight, reduction, size ect) on scorpion jrs weapon?
Stefan nice bot and no offence but is there any stats on the little pinser/crab like bot on the photo album?
