well i wish to enter my new robot passed onto me by a dear friend you may know.
Name: Mass Disctruction Ultimate II
Motivation: 8 x 10mm Titanium legs with 50mm shock absorbing rubber feet (legs hidden in the body)
Weight:
Height: 200mm
Length: 900mm
Width: 900mm
Speed: 12MPH
Clearance: 5mm
Weapon: The weapon is a 71.43kg 10mm thick Hardox hoop at diameter of 900mm. The hoop is spun around the outside of the robot like Gyrobot at 4000RPM geared down 10:1 from the Custom built, 40000rpm 145BHP Gas Turbine. The Gas Turbine produces 40000rpm at close to 145 BHP at maximum power. The latest upgrade on the weapon for the MDU series is interchangeable teeth on the hoop. There are 4 types of teeth that are used:
Tooth Type One: High Impact Tearing Teeth (HITT) These are large teeth (length 60mm, width 100mm, thickness 15mm) and are designed to take out skirts, wedges and robots with thinner armours (8mm Titanium and equivalent) with a chisel sharpened edge. There are 9 teeth in total, three on the top, three in the middle and three at the bottom (there for if the robot become inverted). The top and bottom teeth are angled to grip into skirts and wedges.
Tooth Type Two: Moderate Impact Shredding Teeth (MIST) These are smaller teeth (length 30mm, Width 50mm, Thickness 10mm) designed to gradually rip the opponents armour away like a shredder, there are 60 small teeth scattered around the hoop.
Tooth Type Three: Low Impact Cutting Teeth (LICT) These are small teeth which cut like a saw, they are put onto the hoop in the form of a ring so they are all connected to each other, there are 5 bands of these hardened steel cold saw type teeth, they are designed to cut the opponent and get into the inners with out losing much speed out of the disc. I call this the FlySaw technology which will be featured in some of my robots soon.
Tooth Type Four: Kinetic Flipping Teeth (KFT) These are large angled teeth with hooked cutting/gripping edges which dig into the opponents armour and lifts them in the process launching them into the air with the full kinetic energy behind the teeth. This is used for lifting up skirts (No jokes now guys!) and ripping them off and hopefully lifting opponents up into the air or flipping them over.
I€™ll give the tooth configuration before each battle
Drive: The drive motors are two C40-500 Magmotors producing 6HP on 36v each. This drives the modified (Allows it to walk inverted) anarchy style walking system.
Armour: The 10mm hoop acts as armour on the side and 8mm Hardox wareplating is used on the top and bottom of the robot, there is 100 x 2mm holes in the Hardox to prevent suction devices from getting a grip and to allow cooling into the Gas Turbine.
Batteries: 130 x 3000mAh NiCD cells producing 36v @ 12amp.
Notes: Invertible, Runs on robowars.org BMC controllers and has the motors current limited to 280amps, runs a gyro for enhanced driving ability.
Weight Distribution:
Chassis: 34kg - this chassis is build out of 25mm x 50mm x 3mm box section and is braced in triangles for maximum strength to take the full power of the weapon.
Armour: 15kg - The top and bottom plates weigh 15kg.
Weapon: 114.8kg - The hoop is 71.43kg, the Turbine weights 31kg plus 17.4kg for the hoop drive.
Drive: 14kg
Electronics: 12.4kg
Total Weight: 197.2kg
you thought youd escaped MDUs uberness huh?

Thanks for bringing this thread back up. Ive been unable to get on the PC the last few days, hence Ive let the thread slip. Here is the first part of the Robot Wars Royal Rumble; it woulda been a continuous fight, but youll see why it wasnt when youve read it:
Robots 1 and two are drawn as: S3 and Dominator 2
3...
2...
1...
ACTIVATE!
As the Refbot shows green, S3 sees red, and lunges at Dominator 2s wheel guard, which get struck with an almighty slam, sending Dominator 2 over causing a huge gash in the guard. Dominator 2 snaps the axe to self right, only to be met with another crippling blow, this time simply widening the crack in the Plasma Nitride Coated Titanium shell. Dominator 2 quickly rolls away and turns to come again, bringing the axe down like a clap of thunder, and into S3s rear tube and straight into the motor! S3 swings on its one remaining wheel, barely missing Dominator 2s damaged wheel guard. As Dominator 2 speeds away, Refbot counts out the lop-sided S3, as Dominator 2 happily parades around, but it is a short lived affair, as Refbot€™s counter hits 0 for the 1 1/2 minute time mark, and in shoots the 2 time UK champion Chaos 2, immediately wedging underneath Dominator 2 and launching it skywards and out of the arena! With its enemy seen too, Chaos 2 decides to dispose of S3, once again wedging under its opponent OOTA, taking a camera down in the process! With 1/2 minute to spare, Chaos 2 decides to chill out, saving its energy. Refbots clock hits 0, and out flies the Dutch scissor robot, Tough as Nails! Chaos 2 instantly recognises the threat and goes in for the kill, but TAN isnt that dumb, swinging the pincers round and stopping Chaos 2 in its tracks! Both robots strain for the upper hand, but Chaos 2 gets the more grip, shoving TAN towards the wall, firing the flipper and sending TAN€¦ over its head! The Dutch robot keeps its grip and lands with a bang, behind Chaos 2 but still holding on! TAN slams into reverse, bringing Chaos 2€™s wheels off the floor, leaving the former champ at the mercy of TAN! TAN backs into the pit release button, his best mate, and as the siren shrills, TAN pushes Chaos 2 towards the pit, but with its wheels firmly on the floor, Chaos 2 pushes with all it has, leaving the robots deadlocked about 1ft from oblivion. Refbot€™s clock hits 0, and out shoots the mobile brick, Storm 2, going at full 23Mph tilt at the two robots, breaking the deadlock, sending TAN reeling and Chaos 2 to the other side of the yawning pit. Storm 2 backs away, and takes a ramming shot at TAN, flicking up the arm as it does so, putting TAN with its wheels sticking up in the air against the wall. Chaos 2 takes this opportunity to get behind the New Blood champion and wedge it up, flipping it into TAN, who is knocked over the wall from the impact! The upside-down Storm 2 runs away from the advancing ex-champion, just as Refbot€™s clock hits 0, and is met by yet another Dutch warrior, the mighty Gravity, who wedges under Storm 2 and throws it into the air, sending it crashing to the deck, and right side up! But before Ed can launch another attack, Chaos 2 comes in and throws it over, and onto the flipper of Gravity! Gravity launches Storm 2 7ft into the air, and crashing off the wall, but on the wrong side! Gravity turns to face Chaos 2, who dodges to one side to avoid the Dutch launch pad. Both robots circle one another, looking for an opening, but neither can find one. Refbot calls in another of the 30 competitors and this time it€™s the huge vertical spinner 259, who already has its deadly weapon up to speed, and cloncks Gravity full in the side, ripping a chunk of armour and throwing Gravity onto its roof, but it instantly self rights in spectacular style. 259 backs away to avoid Chaos 2, coming in to flip it. With his bearings back, Gravity gets under Chaos 2 and throws it, landing it in the Drop Zone square, but fortunately, the suspended Baby Grand Piano stays put, as Chaos 2 motors away, only to be caught by 259€™s disc, kicking it over and leaving the left hand armour flapping! Chaos 2 flips itself back over, but the armour gets caught on the floor and is ripped away! Gravity, meanwhile, has got under 259€™s disc and flips, sending Adam Clark€™s machine into a complete somersault, and back onto its wheels! Refbot, keeping well out of the way, signals another robot in, this time, the twice World Champion and former UK champion Razer! Razer darts for 259, biting down on the thin armour; he isn€™t letting go for a while! Gravity seizes the chance and sends both 259 and Razer crashing over! The impact of 259€™s disc was immediate, tearing a huge chunk out of the floor! Gravity rams the two robots to separate them, as Chaos 2 comes in and throws Gravity over the two robots catching Razer on the way past and bringing him upright. With his wheels on the floor, Razer makes a bee line straight for Gravity€¦CHOMP! Razer sinks in the beak into the damaged side of Gravity, puncturing the tyre. Chaos 2, meanwhile, watches as 259 gets counted out, Gravity fires itself free from Razer€™s vice grip, and although hobbling, gets behind Razer and throws him head over heels on its beak! Seeing Chaos 2 standing still, WJ takes his chance and hobbles over, and wedges underneath Chaos 2, bobbles along as fast as it can, and fires. Sending Chaos 2 up, down€¦ and into the pit! 3 Points for that shot! Razer, now re-focused, charges for Gravity, who dodges away but only just. A hobbling robot won€™t get far from Razer, as Razer bites down on the back end of the Dutch machine, 1 ½ minutes is up, and here comes The Steel Avenger, the knight of the RW world! SA goes straight for Razer, slamming down the axe and bending Razer€™s right wing at an awkward angle! Razer brings up the beak, releasing Gravity, who charges head long into SA, and, like 259, sends it into a complete somersault! Razer, meanwhile, clamps the dead 259 and drags it onto the arena flipper€¦3, 2, 1, BOING! Over flies 259€™s crumpled chassis, crashing to the deck, and landing on the Drop Zone square! The crowd chant and count down, and down comes the Baby Grand Piano, striking a horrible chord as it (and 259) smash into chunks! Gravity has been pursuing SA and has him pinned up against the arena entrance, , but as Gravity is about to launch, Refbot sounds the timer, and the gate drops, leaving it and SA in the new robots path€¦it€™s the twin terror of Gemini! The twins split, one flipping SA back towards Gravity, the other aiming for Razer, but it rides straight up the wedge, and the beak crumples the fibreglass shell, piercing a wheel as it does so! Gravity, meanwhile, is continuing its launching attacks on SA, whilst a Gemini half attempts to turn over the Dutch machine. This is getting on Gravity€™s robotic nerves, so he swivels to face the cluster half, and scoops it up, bobbles along, and launches the section so high that it makes a dent in the roof! Landing with a terrible bash, the section slowly rolls away from danger. SA, recovered from its flipper onslaught, sticks its axe into the running away Gemini, creating a big hole in the fibreglass armour. Razer, still with a section in its jaw, rolls over to the pit, and releases the cluster part, only for it to slide off the side of Razer and run off! Now that it€™s free, it tries to aid its other half, but gets caught by Gravity before it reaches it, and, like its other half, gets thrown to the ceiling! It lands with a bang, and on top of SA! The axe is fired, and the 50kg €˜bot runs, only to be caught again by Gravity, who launches it from just above the remains of the Baby Grand piano and 259 into the macralon screen! 1 half has gone, robots gone. But just as one is removed, Refbot signals for a new one; this time it€™s the barrel shaped M2! M2 attacks and flings over the lone Gemini half, and quickly turns to face Razer, who is ready for it. M2 and Razer collide, damaging the srimech wing even more! Razer sinks in the claw, piercing the armour like a knife through butter! Gravity, meanwhile, goes back to its relentless assault on SA, putting it in the same position as it was before, wedges under, fires, and up and out goes SA! The lone twin tries a sneaky attack, but Gravity turns in time, throwing the cluster half into Craig€™s balcony!
CEASE!
The tech crew remove the cluster half, and the dead robots from the camera tracks, as well as a dead camera! The robots are told to stay exactly where they are until Activate is recalled€¦To Be Continued.
