Boooo Hissssss

Were going backwards boys and gals...
Sam
I cant believe it, after all that has been said about not having events where spinners can run, heres one and hardly no spinners sign up. Whats going on?
There all scared of the flippers Paul.
Oh Well.
Mr Stu
wheres your application sam ?
Thought you would be first on the list.
Not for want of trying Paul!
Robin (Tip-Top)
Robin, I thought you had retired Tip-Top.
Well....Just got back from holiday to find all of this!!
To echo Pauls comment ...We finaly get a chance to run our spinners in anger...and what happens..No one turns up!!
(I would be interested to know who else with a spinner had signed up for full combat)
As one of those spinner teams who DID opt for full combat We are more than happy to try to arrange a little full on with any other machines (Spinners or not)...Jonno, if there is enough interest may we have a little arena time if you would be so kind?
I am correct in thinking that spinners will not now be able to run at all in the comp. part of this event?
Geoff,
Team Scorpion.
The situation was this :
We split the competition into two in order to allow those with spinners to run, and those who didnt want to take heavy damage to run.
When the applications were first in we had on a first come first served basis :
12 Robots in Gentle Comp
9 Robots in the All out Comp
The rest of the spaces were taken up with Feathers and Ants.
Of those 9 robots in the all out comp only 2 (Barberous and Scorpion) actually needed to be there (ie spinners). There were a couple of crushers, however having more control over what they do, they can run in either. There were plenty of non-destructive robots (Bulldog, 8645t, Storm II, Tanto and others) who had signed up for the class to have a go.
Splitting the overall numbers into two for the sake of 2 robots in one class simply wasnt practical to run a competition - therefore we had to take the step of joining the classes back together.
It is a real shame, but this has nothing to do with people not wanting to fight spinners, there simply wernt enough spinners entered to justify the class Geoff ! We did some shuffling of robots on pit tables to include some more bots in the competition, but we were sadly left with no choice due to the lack of spinners entering the competition.
Tip-Top did also apply (though quite late so they would have been on a waiting list anyway), however it was decided that Tip Top simply wasnt safe for a number of reasons.
Paul is right, given all the fuss that the spinners make about wanting events they can attend, its a shame when you lay one on and they dont all sign up !
