I will be doing a major update to our website in the new year but in the meantime........
http://www.pillowtorque.comhttp://www.pillowtorque.com
tis done Karoline :)
i dont believe i have just watched a new sony advert and the music to go with it was Sonic Boom Boy by westfield. i used to love that tune. back in the olden days :)
So who has their robot ready for the 2009 new weight rule. is it possible to reverse the rule. but then i wouldnt want to go against the entire feather community as most wanted the 13.6 weight. still dont get why heavys changed tho. surly it wasnt just because the fra wanted to fall in line with the americans. i think the uk robot scene is bigger than theirs anyway. the new rule wont affect envy anyway but come uk champs time some people will have to adapt their robot to get into weight. that said i think the rest of the year their wont really be that much said if a robot went to an event 5k over weight. for 1 event of the year is it worth the rule? if i am honest when the rule came in it seemed so far away to worry about but i worry now and wonder how much the new rule will affect roboteers and events?
The Thor Thz fight at maidstone is on the Teambud.co.uk website if anyone hasnt seen it.
My new years resolution is to try and type with capitals where appropriate.
New pics on the Teambud website under the robots section of the envy build :)
I am not sure where to post this message so i decided to do it in the bar. Will all EOs please get their collective fingers out and announce the dates for next year asap, as travellodge are now offering rooms from £9.00 for later in the year.If we can book these rooms it means more left in the beer (robot) kitty.
Many thanks..:)

That was only Clive resting between performances. A little birdy told me that underneath that DG hes all sweaty and smeared with lard :uhoh:
ive got a big problem.....
Sienna was downstairs playing with her presents that santa gave her... one of her favourite was her big lego bricks....
anyway.. i heard a thump thump thump coming up the stairs and walked into my office ...
daddy daddy.... ive built a feather weight like yours !!
Leo has been getting up at 3am ish the last few weeks and for just a cuddle or his quilt moving cos it was off him. I think its a little habbit he is getting into so last night true to form he was shouting mummy mummy so i said to steph just leave him cos there wont be anything wrong and he will go back to sleep. 45 minutes later he was still at it so steph went to see and the poor little begger had been sick all in his bed. I tells ya. Talk about the boy that cried wolf.
Aww, bless him :)
I remember the days of being sick in bed; one time when I was quite young I wasnt exactly sure what it was. It looked like porridge to me and I seem to remember prodding it to see if it had the same consistency. Thankfully I didnt get as far as wanting to eat the porridge!
Jonno.....Best of luck mate.....I did the same when I was a kid watching robot wars......
Ha I remember that David has only been sick twice and both times threw up over his Dad - oh happy days
Mechano next year then Jonno.
Got Dillon (my 10 year old son) a mechano set. Will be building a digger with him next time he is round and i hope he likes it but will see.
I would have thought that this would be perfect for prototyping robots, more interesting than a digger, good practice too.
DaveMac
Good idea dave i actually didnt think of that. I have never done mechano before so will do a robot with Dillon after we build the Digger. Its got motors with too so looking forward to it.
After cutting hardox with my angle grinder i have discovered the best set of cutting discs for the job. I progressed up from Silverline which just didnt do diddly, bough some norton ones from Screwfix and they were pretty good but the best ones i have used are Eng-Weld cutting discs. they go through hardox with ease and last twice as long as norton and 30 times longer than silverline. so there you have my tip of the day :)
DOH just after buying some discs to cut hardox
We did it the easy way, we bought our hardox cut to size, weve now just got to weld it together.
So far weve only assembled the base but well get there.
Thanks for the tip, im on the norton ones aswell atm, but probably gonna need some more in the next few weeks.
I know who the new Doctor who will be :) but im contractly obliged to not tell anyone til its announced next week
