Well bugging other people (Joey for instance :P) didn't exactly do much. So we go on...
Heat J Final
Wedge Devolution vs. Flaming Hell
Flaming Hell actually looked very, very nice during this battle. It managed to completely take out the flipper of Wedge Devolution, which would have been its bane. What WAS its bane, however, was Wedge Devolution finally stopping the weapon, and sending it into the pit!

No changes to the scoreboard. Heat K up later when I can get to the line-ups on my home computer.

Round 1
Maelstrom (12) vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus vs. Splinter vs. S3
The major factor in this fight was aggression. Every single robot in this fight was unfathomably aggressive. Maelstrom and Die-Ceratops got in quite a bit of lovely flips, Splinter punched some holes into S3, and S3 ripped 'n' flipped Maelstrom and Die-Ceratops (and Splinter) quite a few times. The turning point in this fight was S3 riding up Splinter's wedge and Splinter getting a lock on them, and then pitting them. This opened the door for Maelstrom and Die-Ceratops to be even more aggressive and several flips between the two later, Die-Ceratops got Splinter over the fence! Despite the knockouts, it was a great fight and the audience (and the drivers of Splinter and S3) cheered heartily.
SMIDSY (21) vs. Plunderbird 5 vs. Tira VI vs. Helliant
Shorter fight, but much sweeter. Tira VI was completely destructive and managed to rip open Helliant like tin-foil within the first few seconds of the match and send Bosch motors flying. SMIDSY then went in and managed to flip over Tira VI, but the Canadian robot righted itself. While Plunderbird 5 clumsily pitted the smoking remnants of Helliant, SMIDSY bravely charged Tira VI again and again, but the 21st seeds were getting ripped apart by that disc. Plunderbird then rushed to the aid of SMIDSY and tried getting around the rear end. This proved to be their downfall when Tira VI's rear flipper managed to tip over Plunderbird and leave them for dead. All in all, total domination from Tira VI. Hopefully SMIDSY will be repaired by the next match.

Re: Fanfic Wars - Series 1
:!:
(got Joey's predictions via MSN - Tira and SMIDSY)
Round 2
Maelstrom (12) vs. Tira VI
Fairly even, back and forth... until Tira VI managed to strike Maelstrom's exposed wheel cleanly with the disc. While not replicating the wheel breakage of the fight with X-Terminator, this completely immobilized the wheel and left Maelstrom spinning in a circle. Tira backed off and let Maelstrom get counted out. Shunt then foolishly drove up Maelstrom's front wedge! On one wheel though it was Maelstrom turned to the wall and nearly got Shunt out! Maelstrom paid dearly for this though when Growler charged into Maelstrom and slammed it HARD against the arena wall, where it started venting CO2. Upon returning to the pits, they found the CO2 supply had ruptured AND the failsafe had been dislodged.
SMIDSY (21) vs. Die-Ceratops Re-Invertus
Compared to the last match, this was fairly boring. Die-Ceratops did not get a single flip in at all due to SMIDSY avoiding their long flipper and staying near the wheels. Unfortunately SMIDSY couldn't really get too much of an attack going themselves so they just pushed Die-Ceratops around at odd angles. The judges decision gave it to SMIDSY.

Joey sez: There's only one way this could go. SMIDSY has nice sides. (Tira)
Heat K Final
SMIDSY (21) vs. Tira VI
SMIDSY, sadly, didn't last long. After nearly getting flipped over, Tira hunted it to the arena wall and smashed it a few times trying to get it out. Tira backed off for another attempt, but noticed SMIDSY wasn't moving (and was smoking pretty badly) so it backed off as with Maelstrom. Tira did however have a massive go at Dead Metal so it would leave SMIDSY alone, and after several blows and attempts by Shunt to get Tira to stop, Dead Metal was overturned. Tira then went after Shunt, but CEASE was called.

Round 1
Grim Reaper (10) vs. Hydra vs. Shredder Evilution vs. Super Gore Septua
Hydra came out strong at first, flipping everybody around but the seeded machine, but then Grim Reaper and Super Gore teamed up on the Hydra machine, and Grim Reaper stacked it against the wall in the late-going and flipped it out. Shredder was having reliability problems ever since Hydra attacked it, and it lost the judges decision heavily.
Lightning (23) vs. Tenderizer's Revenge 2 vs. Anarchy vs. Quaestor III
Joey full-on refused to attack Anarchy, so they teamed up. :P This prompted Lightning and Tenderizer's Revenge to team up as well. This didn't work out so well for the seeded machine, as Quaestor dominated Lightning, flipped it over, and proceeded to hammer the everloving crap out of it! Lightning were quickly immobilized, and Tenderizer's Revenge was set upon. Best despite his best efforts, Richard couldn't keep up with the duo and he was pitted, shockingly enough by Anarchy itself.

Round 2
Grim Reaper (10) vs. Quaestor III
A simple clamping and pitting was the case here. Grim Reaper were caught almost immediately, brought to the pit release button, and were dumped in. Very quick.
Super Gore Septua vs. Anarchy
Anarchy were attacked from the side and could not get any real attack going. However due to its weight Super Gore was unable to push it properly anywhere. Super Gore only got Anarchy once to a CPZ where Sgt. Bash torched it for a while... before Anarchy flipped it over! And then the match ended! Super Gore won the boring match.

Heat L Final
Quaestor III vs. Super Gore Septua
Super Gore was rendered completely ineffective against Quaestor III and was consequentially rammed, axed, and flipped all around the arena. Unusual tactics for Joey, but maybe he was angry that Anarchy was defeated. Whatever the case, Super Gore was a smoking wreck by the time Quaestor clamped and pitted it.

Re: Fanfic Wars - Series 1
Got Joey's predictions:
Quote:
Gabriel, Exertion, Thor, and LowDown, methinks.
So let's get this underway!
Heat M
Round 1
Bulldog Breed (8) vs. Exertion II vs. Hypno-Disc vs. Gabriel V
Well Bulldog Breed went right after Hypno-Disc from the get-go. Exertion did as well. Hypno-Disc for the most part managed to evade them pretty well and get some great shots on Bulldog Breed, denting up the flipper. They were tiring though, when Exertion shoved Hypno-Disc up against the wall and stopped the disc. Gabriel then made a major appearance by wedging both of them and firing the flipper. This resulted in Hypno-Disc being sent bouncing off the wall, and Exertion thrown overtop of Hypno-Disc during this, and stacked on its side! They tried to use the lifting wedge to push themselves off the wall, but no go, and Exertion was dead in the water. Bulldog Breed then tried to capitalize on Hypno-Disc's fatigue but they were having flipper problems. Gabriel decided to take advantage of this, and went after Bulldog Breed, and flipped it over. Bulldog Breed failed to self-right and was counted out.
Meggamouse (25) vs. Thor vs. LowDown vs. Disco 5
Rather ridiculous match, this. Meggamouse hid behind LowDown for the majority of the match, while LowDown attacked Thor. Thor's hammer came smashing down on top of LowDown several times, but unlike Quaestor vs. Super Gore, it did absolutely nothing. LowDown shoved Thor all around the arena. Disco 5 tried to attack Meggamouse but were having problems driving around. Sensing weakness, the 25th seed went to attack Disco but failed to get under Disco 5's exceedingly low ground clearance. However, within a few rams Disco 5 became totally grounded and could not move. Meggamouse then joined LowDown in attacking Thor and got some good flips in the end. The judges decision saw the hammer fall on Thor.

Re: Fanfic Wars - Series 1
Round 2
Meggamouse (25) vs. Hypno-Disc
Meggamouse actually put up a decent fight against the Series 3 runner-up, but were unable to really push Hypno-Disc anywhere. They did get a few flips, but this was about Hypno-Disc striking Meggamouse a lot and dogging them around the arena. Hypno-Disc won the judges decision by a fair amount.
LowDown vs. Gabriel V
This battle was incredible. Gabriel pulled off many, many insane flips, and in return LowDown got underneath Gabriel a lot and slammed it into the arena walls, control patrol zones, and hazards. In the judges decision, LowDown won damage, but Gabriel barely took aggression, and dominated control and style. Gabriel survived!

Hypno-Disc vs. Gabriel V
This went down to another judges decision. Hypno-Disc wasn't able to cause much cosmetic damage, but it was constantly on the attack, and only suffered a couple of flips for its trouble. Their weapon did go out at the end, but Hypno-Disc took all four categories in the decision... barely.

Round 1
Firestorm V (6) vs. PsycloniZer vs. Flick of the Wrist vs. *69
The seeds were the stars of this particular melee. PsycloniZer got one good hit in on the side of Firestorm, denting it badly, but this did not deter the Durham robot, who rammed PsycloniZer all around the arena, and then finally tossed them into the gaping pit. Elsewhere Flick of the Wrist was trying in vain to dispose of *69, as the forks continued to get warped beyond recognition. Firestorm then burst in while *69 had stopped and stacked them against the wall! They slid down the wall, only for Flick of the Wrist to re-stack them, and this time they did not get un-stacked.
Spawn Again (27) vs. Scottishly Fictional vs. Shadow Zone Forever vs. 13 Black
It seems the realies ruled these melees... except for 13 Black. They never really got going again after Spawn Again tossed them onto their back. Scottishly Fictional, going in with the drum, met Shadow Zone Forever and gained a traction advantage, but Spawn Again came in and flipped Scottishly Fictional. Without his frontal wedge protection, Scottishly Fictional was rammed all over the place by SZF... until a flip from Spawn Again settled SZF down. While SZF attacked Spawn, Scottishly Fictional puttered a bit and then stopped moving from all the ramming abuse. Spawn Again was then pitted but too late.

Time for a bump, I'd say.
Round 2
Firestorm V (6) vs. Shadow Zone Forever
Both robots were capable of flipping and self-righting. What made the difference in this battle was Shadow Zone's ability to run inverted. So when Firestorm flipped Shadow Zone, Shadow Zone drove away to self-right safely. When Firestorm eventually got flipped, they self-righted onto Shadow Zone's flipper. Shadow Zone drove to the arena wall and flipped Firestorm out.
Spawn Again (27) vs. Flick of the Wrist
Not exactly a back and forth match. Spawn Again managed to get a lucky flip at the start, but that itself was its doom because Flick drove back in and wedged itself into Spawn Again's flipper slot before they could close it. The old fear of Spawn's reliability came true again as the flipper piston was damaged, and they were weaponless. Flick of the Wrist shoved Spawn Again around the arena for the rest of the fight and won a large judges' decision.
