Robot SMASH!!
WORCK v Typhoon 2: Simple plan - ram him and flip him. Marks plan of deflecting me into the pit will NOT work at all - I have the same amount of wheels as him, but more traction, so hell be deflected away. True, he has the greater speed, and so can spin-up before I get to him, but my 5mm Hardox body armour, 3.25mm Hardox wedges and 6mm Hardox front scoop will prevent him even SCRATCHING my armour, and shock-proofed internals will keep me from shock-killed by him. And due to the height of his teeth, he will only hit the scoop, so Ill be fine.
Due to the way my flipper works, I just have to ram under him, and he will STOP spinning as soon as I get underneath him. So just fire the flipper and leave him for the count.
I usually say Good luck Mark, but you dont deserve it.
-
Robot SMASH!!
Remember, Tactics:
Worck vs TYPHOON 2
I now realize it is almost impossible to damage Worck, so my plan is to speed up and hit the pit release button.
Then, run around the arena, and wait for Worck to get in front of the pit. Run into him, and watch him fly into the pit.
Just remember, I probably wont do anything to his armour, but I can throw him around with my power.

Robot SMASH!!
Robot SMASH!! is back with the latest battle from the arena! Heat C is about to get underway, with Worck v Typhoon 2!
Another note to Mark- STOP SAYING REMEMBER.IVE TOLD YOU ONCE, ITS GETTING REALLY ANNOYING NOW.
Eliminator 9/32:
Worck v Typhoon 2
Worck is an ex-holder of the challenge belt, and lost in the first round of The Easter Bunny Tribute Championships 2008, so it hasnt got a fantastic track record in my tournaments. But its well armoured and has a strong flipper, so Mark should look out!
Typhoon 2 won the last ever series of Robot Wars, though most people agree that Storm II should have prevailed on that biased JD. Its not powerful enough to damage Worck, and doesnt have a srimech so this match could be over before its started.
Booth 1: Paul Cuomo
Booth 2: Mark Elam
5,4,3,2,1, CRIPPLE!
Typhoon starts spinning up and heads straight for the pit release tyre, succeeding in reaching it before Worck can attack. Mark then hovers near the pit, waiting for Paul to come on the attack! But Worck is having none of it and comes towards Typhoon 2 from a direction so that even if it does get hit itll be knocked away! When Paul gets near Mark pulls around to try and knock Worck in, but Paul turns and gets the flipper underneath!
FLIP!
Typhoon 2 goes up and over for good, as the lack of srimech means its now out of the match!
Just as a little vengeance for Storm II, Paul shoves Typhoon 2 into the pit!
THE FIRST ELMINATOR OF HEAT C IS OVER!
Worck heads through to the heat semi-finals!

Robot SMASH!!
Over before it begun...WOOT! Go WORCK! I make that 3-0 now Mark  :proud:
Thats 1 down, 2 more to go and then Ive made the top 8. Itll be nice, but Ill doubt Ill make it that far.
-
Robot SMASH!!
Eliminator 10/32:
The Curse v Nidhogg
The Curse is an odd shape robot with a powerful spinning blade. Its entered here by Kody Kunz, winner of the Easter Bunny Tribute Championships 2008 with Seung Mina.
Nidhogg is the permanent holder of my first challenge belt, having defeated lots of great robots. Its a Razer-esque machine, shaped like Lightning but with lifting forks and a powerful crusher.
Booth 1: Kody Kunz
Booth 2: Joey McConnell
5,4,3,2,1, KILL! (Cant believe I havent already used that 1...)
The Curse quickly spins up and moves across the arena to meet Nidhogg, who looks ponderous. The Curse tries to swing that blade into Nidhoggs side armour, but Joey is ready and dodges the attack before rushing back in from behind and lifting The Curse into the air! The Blade hits the floor, and Nidhogg comes down with the crusher, puncturing one of Kodys tyres! The Curses movement is now impared, but Joey keeps hold of it and drags Kody into the pit release tyre! The tyre slides off the crusher and the forks and The Curse escapes, spinning up again for another attack! Nidhogg comes in, but this time Kody attacks and strikes, bringing the blade into play on Nidhoggs front forks! One of them is bent and now Nidhogg wont be able to lift Kodys bot properly! Nevertheless Joey mushes on and gets The Curse on the wedge and brings that crusher down! Another tyre takes the pop, and shock horror for Kody as its the one infront of the previously damaged tyre meaning The Curse is now restricted to going in circles!
Joey keeps hold and pushes Kody into the chasm!
ANOTHER ELIMINATOR IS OVER!
Nidhogg goes through to the heat semi-final while sadly another of Kodys vapourbots bites the dust early on. Perhaps his luck will change in the heats to come?

Robot SMASH!!
Just some news regarding my tournaments...
Ill be taking a break for a couple of months after this is finished. Perhaps a small tournament or two, but nothing big for a LONG time as Ive done a lot in a short time!
But I do have something very special planned for my return, which may or may not happen, but Im not telling you beacuse I want it to be a surprise if it does happen!
After that (if it happens) Ill probably do the next three Challenge Belts (though it may only ever appear again as a side tournament, in which each one will probably be in a different format.
Itll probably be like this:
1) Your basic challenge the holder affair. Robot to beat three others (including the holder it challenged) takes the belt.
2) Hmmmm... Havent thought of this yet!
3) The same as the third belt last year, but Ill probably ask for 6 people to enter 1 robot each as you all seem to trust me much more now than then! (I hope:uhoh:)
Also Kody will be happy to know that Im already thinking about the Easter Bunny Tribute Championships 2009! Its not until next year, but Im designing an arena and house robots specially for this tournament! Theyll ber re-used and updated over the years as I think its a small but fun tournament, and so should have its own fun stuff! Therell be eight seeds (if the following all enter, if they dont Ill change them, or change them to their new updates):
1) Seung Mina IV
2) Calm Down Dear
3) E Clawdius Unum
4) Super Gore Evo
5) Behemoth
6) The Zenith
7) Crimson Thunder
8) Another Night at the Bar
The heat finalists have been seeded in order by the robots who beat them (e.g Behemoth lost to Seung Mina, who won the whole tournament and so it is the highest of the heat finalists)
The format will most likely be the same as before, as I want to keep it small and simple though I may upgrade the three-way melees to four robot battles... Who knows?
And I may do Robot SMASH!!2, but that wont be for a really long time and there are no plans at the moment!
And regarding other peoples tourneys I now have some proper vapourbots which I hope will do quite well, as I STILL havent had a proper battle!Ill just have to wait for Chris in the Battlebots tourney...

Robot SMASH!!
Eliminator 11/32:
Turbo Tails v Sheer Heart Attack 2
Turbo Tails is another robot entered by Steven McGregor, who was a Heat B finalist with All Scoop... However Turbo Tails had better stay away from the flame pit or the fox will feel the heat with that flammable fur!
Sheer Heart Attack 2 competed in the Easter Bunny Tribute Championships 2008, but lost in the opening round when one of its tracks were crushed by E Clawdius Unum, who well see later on in the series.
Booth 1: Steven McGregor
Booth 2: Martijn M Benschop
5,4,3,2,1, erm.. GO!
Both robots spin up and head towards each other, SHA 2 driving up onto Tails front wedge, ripping fur into the air! Steven flips Martijn away and turns around to attack with his own spinner, a horizontal blade! But it glances off the sides of SHA2 and Martijn attacks again, ripping up more fur! Then the drum gets caught on a particularly strong piece of fur and an ultimate tug of war match ensues! Nothing much happens, but through a mixture of its own pulling and SHA 2s pushing Turbo Tails ends up on the flame pit!
As the two robots are not getting separated the match is called to a halt for it to go to a judges decision!
Turbo Tails: SHA2:
Damage- 1/5 2/5
Aggression- 3/5 3/5
Style- 2/5 4/5
Control- 2/5 4/5
Overall- 8/20 13/20
Sheer Heart Attack 2 goes through to the heat semi-finals!
Coming Next:
Doorstops v Mega Monsoon
-
Robot SMASH!!
Door Stops is fighting a lot in a short space of time, its getting hard to keep track of which tournies its still in and which ones its been knocked out of:lame:
Anyway, tactics as ever are to split up and come at him from different sides. Should that fail one can act as bait, and the other can attack.
-
Robot SMASH!!
And that is one big reason why exposed wheels are a bad thing. :proud:
Oh well, I was facing a crusher. XD
-
Robot SMASH!!
Eliminator 12/32:
Doorstops v Mega Monsoon
Doorstops are basically two static wedges that cun run inverted, a clusterbot with 18HP in each half. They are created and entered here by veteran roboteer Frank Goacher.
Mega Monsoon is another robot from Daniel Stickler, this time a rambot with approximately 60HP! Itll have no problems pushing the teeny Doorstops around, but a 1cm ground clearance around the sides and rear mean it could be outnumbered and shoved around!
Booth 1: Frank Goacher
Booth 2: Daniel Stickler
5,4,3,2,1, CLASH!
Doorstops splits up and heads around in different directions so that Frank has Mega Monsoon from both sides! Daniel cn only meet one of them, but instead heads away and presses the pit release tyre! The siren wails and Doorstops neatly avoid the chasm to get under the rear of Mega Monsoon while the other gets underneath side! A tricky position, and so Frank withdraws the one under the rear so that the other can push Mega Monsoon into the corner! But as it gets there it fires the spike and pushes itself off Doorstop by hitting the arena wall!
All 6 wheels are back on the ground and Daniel rams one of the doorstops up to the pit and uses the spike to push it in! But theres still one left, and Frank comes up behind Mega Monsoon to shove it in!
THE FINAL ELIMINATOR OF THE HEAT IS OVER!
One Doorstop down, one Mega Monsoon down, One Doorstop LEFT!Doorstops go through to the heat semi-finals!
Coming Next: A Featherweight Heat!
DTK v Pillow Torque
-
Robot SMASH!!
Special Event- Featherweight Heat 3/4:
Pillow Torque v DTK
Pillow Torque is a low invertible rambot with a wedge on the front. However, that wedge wont run inverted.
DTK was the featherweight winner in RW7, beating good robots like Rip, Bernard and Prince of Awe to the title. However, featherweights have improved in leaps and bounds since then so it could be slightly out of date.
Booth 1: Frank Goacher
Booth 2: Mark Elam
5,4,3,2,1, FIGHT!
Pillow Torque gets off to a quick start, ramming Mark into the wall! But DTK comes back strongly, getting in underneath the rear and flipping Pillow Torque over! Its invertable, but the wedge is uselessly! Mark gets under the front and rams Pillow Torque into the pit release! Mark then flips it over again, propping it up on the wall! Pillow Torque isnt going anywhere, but cant be counted out for being stacked so Mark has to get Frank down. He does so by getting underneath and trying to get it OOTA, but flipping it sideways back the right way up! Frank is quick to retaliate and rams Mark into the CPZ where he is flipped by the spike! DTK self-rights, but lands on top of Pillow Torque who rams it into the opposite wall! DTK is turned over, but once again self-rights only to be rammed again, this time into the pit!
ONLY ONE FW HEAT LEFT GUYS!
Pillow Torque goes through to the semi-finals while DTK is laid to rest in the pit!
Coming Next: The Heat Semi-Finals!
Worck v Sheer Heart Attack 2
Nidhogg v Doorstops
Tactics/Predictions?
-
Robot SMASH!!
Uh...get one around the back of one of the Door Stops, lift to stop it escaping, and crush into it until it dies. DO NOT GO NEAR THE PIT UNTIL ONE OF THEM IS DEAD, AND EVEN THEN ONLY GO NEAR IT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PITTING THE STILL ACTIVE ONE.
Good luck, Mr. Frank :)
-
Robot SMASH!!
WORCK vs. Sheer Heart Attack 2: SHA2 is one of the robots I would have liked to have faced, although I wouldve preferred Tails. Simple plan here - although SHA2 may be the favorite to win this battle, it isnt going to cause me HUGE amounts of pain, as it can only flip, and thats just from the sides and rear - and so Ill keep my front facing him and ram underneath his drum. The barbs on top of me will KEEP him on the flipper and I just push him to the wall and flip - the majority of the weight is in his drum, and so he will fly over the wall.
Good luck Martijn
Nidhogg vs. Doorstops: I think that Nidhogg is going to win in this battle by crushing the Clusters and pitted the pair of them.
-
Robot SMASH!!
Heat Semi-Final 5/16:
Worck v Sheer Heart Attack 2
Worck easily defeated Typhoon 2 in the eliminator, and is now up against another spinner. Paul wanted this battle, lets see if he was right to want it!
Sheer Heart Attack 2 took this place in the heat semi-finals by beating Turbo Tails on a JD. It was a close fight and now Martijn has to pull off another win over another well armoured opponent.
Booth 1: Paul Cuomo
Booth 2: Martijn M Benschop
5,4,3,2,1, BASH!
SHA2 spins up and trundles towards Worck, driving up the flipper and sending a spark stream flying into the air! Worck flips one of the tracks and Martijn is turned over sideways off the wedge, but attacks a side skirt, bending it upwards and flipping Worck onto its back! Paul quickly hits the flipper to self-right and comes on the attack, flipping SHA2 from under the drum! This time Martijn oges right over, and is pushed by Paul from behind, but Paul fires the flipper! But Worck wasnt quite underneath and now SHA2 has its wedges underneath Worck and can push it around! Matrtijn pushes Paul into the wall, digging underneath so that Worcks rear end is crumpled slightly! The impact knocks Worck off the wedges, and Paul comes round on the attack, getting under the drum and flipping! The drum was too heavy and Martijn flies over the wall and out of the competition!
ANOTHER HEAT SEMI-FINAL COMES TO A CLOSE!
Worck heads through to the heat final, question is will he meet Nidhogg or Doorstops, that fight coming next!
-
Robot SMASH!!
WOOOOOOT! The C&B Champion falls down! Thats 2 Champs WORCK has taken down - the RW Champion and the C&B Champion. I wont face a Champion in the next round, but Ill face a Challenge Belt holder or a Clusterbot.
Im going for Nidhogg to make the Heat Final by pushing Door Stops down the pit. Go Joey!

Robot SMASH!!
Heat Semi-Final 6/16:
Nidhogg v Doorstops
Nidhogg is another robot from Joey McConnell, who is a regular occurrence in my tournaments. In round one it speared The Curse and now hopes to do the same to Doorstops!
Doorstops is the 3rd heavyweight clusterbot weve seen in Robot SMASH!! so far, after Weapon Synergy and The Botles Reunited.
Booth 1: Joey McConnell
Booth 2: Frank Goacher
5,4,3,2,1, TERMINATE!
Doorstops split up and come at Nidhogg from different angles like they did with Mega Monsoon! Joey reacts by getting his forks under the side of one, lifting it up and spinning around to block the other with its team-mate! Its a clever move, and one that lets Joey hold all the cards! He moves toward the other doorstop and drops the one hes holding- the crusher speared a wheel and its now restricted to going in circles! The remaining Doorstop presses the pit release tyre and comes on the attack, getting in under the back of Nidhogg and pushing it towards the pit! But Joey manages to dig his forks into the ground, staying in the battle! Doorstops is now under Joey, but cant seem to get out from under Nidhogg, and Nidhoggs wheels arent on the ground, so no bot is going anywhere! The match will go to a judges decision!
ITS OVER!
Nidhogg: Doorstops:
Damage- 4/5 0/5
Aggression- 3/5 4/5
Style- 5/5 1/5
Control- 4/5 3/5
Overall- 16/20 8/20
Nidhogg gets double Franks score and progresses to the heat final to meet Worck!

Robot SMASH!!
Paul...we meet again...
TACTICS:
Ask Paul what WORCK stands for, and then drive the forks into the ground so he will find it VERY difficult to get under me. Then, once hes on my wedge, crush into the flipper and pit. If that fails, get around the sides and rear, crush, and pit.
Good luck, Mr. Paul :)

Robot SMASH!!
Tactics in the archives...I know how to destroy axes...:proud:
-
Robot SMASH!!
My plan is to get underneath the lifting forks of Nidhogg, just like last time, and just flip him OOTA! If he grabs onto me, my Hardox body should protect me against his crushers. And he shouldnt get underneath my wedges on ALL sides. So my plan is just to flip him out!
Good luck Joey
-
Robot SMASH!!
Special Event: Middleweight Heat 3/4
Solstice 2.0 v Killoteeny
Solstice is a middleweight FBS with plenty of power, at least enough to trash Killoteenys polycarbonate armour! But Kodys top and bottom armour isnt overly tough.
Killoteeny can act as a rambot if the axe fails. Its a middleweight version of Killoteen: EVO, which we will see later this series.
Booth 1: Kody Kunz
Booth 2: Steven McGregor
5,4,3,2,1, EXTERMINATE!
Solstice starts spinning up and heads towards Killoteeny, while Steven tries to get the axe in without making contact with Solstice! He brings the axe down, but Kody dodges it and comes in on the attack, ripping off a side panel! Steven spins away and Kody comes on the attack again!
CRASH!!
That attack was so powerful Killoteeny has been left with a gash in the front panel and it seems the axes gas supply has been ruptured, as co2 is venting over the arena! Kody spins up again and attacks the next-to-helpless Killoteeny for the third time! The gash is made bigger and a drive motor flies out of Killoteeny, taking a quarter of whatever rambot capabilities Killoteeny had or has! In all fairness Steven is trying to carry on the fight, but doesnt dare get to near Solstice as Kody has spun up again, and now delivers what could be the finishing blow!
CRASH!
The whole of Killoteeny is catapulted across the arena and comes to rest on the flame pit! The removable link has gone flying across the arena and the batteries arent in such a good state anyway!
5,4,3,2,1, IMMOBILE!
The crowd cheer Solstice 2.0 onto the Middleweight semi-finals!
Coming Next: The Heat C final
WORCK v Nidhogg
-
Robot SMASH!!
Weve got the tactics, so may as well do the bout!
Heat C Final:
WORCK v Nidhogg
Lets see how these two awesome machines got this far...
1) WORCK kicked off the heat by turning Typhoon 2 onto its back and pitting Mark Elams realie.
2) Nidhogg crushed The Curse, despite a good show from Kody early on.
3) WORCK defeated another champion, this time Sheer Heart Attack 2 (winner of Kodys C & B Tournament...Accroding to Paul, at least!)
4) Nidhogg defeated Doorstops on a judges decision, getting double the points!
These two also have a bit of history in one of my tournaments, lets take a look back to the Challenge Belt...
Nidhogg has defeated allcomers to take the first belt!!
The first challenger will be Nitro-Gene 4.0...
Nidhogg easily dispatched the first challenger for the second belt, Nitro-Gene 4.0....
Another Paul Cuomo creation has risen to the challenge, WORCK!
AND WORCK HAS FLIPPED NIDHOGG OOTA!
Booth 1: Paul Cuomo
Booth 2: Joey McConnell
5,4,3,2,1, COMMENCE!
Both bots head straight for each other, Worck preparing to try and get under Nidhoggs forks, Joey not about to let that happen!
WORCK makes the first move, driving towards Nidhogg, but Nidhogg digs the forks into the ground and WORCK runs up onto the wedge! Quickly Joey lifts WORCK into the air and comes down with the crusher, trapping Paul Cuomos machine! Joey carries him over to the pit release tyre, presses it and then carries its worthy opponent to the chasm!
PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT
ANOTHER HEAT COMES TO A CLOSE!
WORCK is in the pit, Nidhogg gets revenge and a place in the finals!

Robot SMASH!!
The fourth heat of Robot SMASH!! is about to get underway! Lets see whos already in the finals...
1) Liar 2 flipped Gabriel out of the Heat A final to win what was a very tough heat with lots of good robots.
2) Supreme Glory Omega shocked everybody by defeating hot favourite All Scoop... in the Heat B final!
3) Nidhogg got its revenge on WORCK in the Heat C final!
Eliminator 13/32:
Another Night at the Bar v Pure Evil: ROTD
Another Night at the Bar was a heat finalist in The Easter Bunny Tribute Championships 2008. Its a very original design, incorporating a cylinder with a horizontal blade underneath.
Pure Evil: ROTD is another very original robot. Its a ring spinner with a flipper powered by the spinners kinetic energy! How cool is that?!
Booth 1: Martijn M Benschop
Booth 2: Daniel Stickler
5,4,3,2,1, TRASH!
Both bots spin up and head for each other in the arena! They start getting close, but Daniel swings Pure Evil around to bring that 38kg spinner into play!
CRASH!
Martijn spins away across the arena floor, and is followed by Daniel, who gets underneath Another Night at the Bar and rams it into the angle grinder! Daniel spins up and lets rip!
FLIP!
ANATB flies up onto the rails, but falls back into the arena! Both bots spin up again and this time Martijn gets in on the attack, tearing into the titanium wedge! Theres a nice gash in that armour now, but never the less Daniel turns and gets that wedge under ANATB again!
FLIP!
This time Martijn isnt as lucky, and lands on the camera tracks!
ANATB IS OUTTA THE RING!
Pure Evil: ROTD goes through to the heat semi-finals!
Coming Next:
The Quaestor v Coinst
(Message edited by Robot_Warrior on April 13, 2008)

Robot SMASH!!
Redone Tactics:
259 vs ISD.. Oh, to heck with the long name.
Ive now noticed I have no way in all of time to put even a scratch on him. My plan is to run straight into him with the disc at full speed, and hit him with as much force as possible. It should send him flying into the air, and either OOTA, or still in play. I have a 0mm ground clearance, so he shouldnt get under me, and my disc should mangle him if I go in at the side.
-
Robot SMASH!!
Eliminator 14/32:
The Quaestor v Coinst
The Quaestor is a powerful axe robot that has the ability to ground itself by taking its wheels off the ground! How this is going to help I dont know...
Coinst has three weapon stups, and Paul has opted to use his spinning drum here to try and throw Joey around. These two have already met twice in this series so far, and its 2-0 to Joey at the mo!
Booth 1: Joey McConnell
Booth 2: Paul Cuomo
5,4,3,2,1, RAGE!
They both get off to a quick start, Paul powering up the drum and Joey getting around the side of Coinst! But Paul is ready and brings the drum around, defending itself but not causing any real damage to that front plow! The Quaestor pushes hard into Paul and brings its axe down, denting the top armour! Joey pushes Paul for the full length of the arena and into the pit release button! Paul now tries to run over the top of The Quaestor, but Joey hits with the axe and flips him sideways! Joey now pursues Coinst across the arena while it spins up, but Joey comes up from behind and gets his axe stuck into the wheel housing of Coinsts rear left wheel!
Paul struggles, but Joey drags him across the arena to the pit, pulling half of Coinsts wheels onto thin air! With only two wheels on the ground Paul cant get away and Joey lets go to push him in from a different angle! He takes his time driving around and coming in from the side to deal out the final shove!
ITS OVER!
The Quaestor goes through!
Coming Next:
259 v ISDSFA

Robot SMASH!!
Dont worry Paul, you have an extremely difficult battle coming up against Haardvark, so maybe then you have a chance to even the score :proud:
-
Robot SMASH!!
Eliminator 15/32:
259 v ISDSFA
259 has been seen in both heavyweight and middleweight incarnations, this is the heavyweight robot that nearly knocked Wild Thing 2 out of the second round in RW6. Oddly it did not return in RW7, only ever as a middleweight in RW6.
ISDSFA is another of Frank Goachers designs, a behemoth-like machine with a spinner concealed behind the scoop. Just about everybody except Mark has predicted that this will be a very quick victory for Frank, as 259 has no srimech.
Booth 1: Mark Elam
Booth 2: Frank Goacher
5,4,3,2,1, KILL!
259 starts spinning up and speeds towards ISDSFA as fast as it can go! Mark gets there, but doesnt get much done as as soon as Frank gets the scoop under the disc Mark is on his back, spinning the flywheel so that 259 bounces along noisily! Frank pushes it along into the arena wall, getting underneath the side and flipping it again! 259 goes up onto the wall backwards, suspended for a horrific moment before falling into the abyss in what seems to be slow motion, to Mark anyway!
ITS ALL OVER!
A quick match as predicted and ISDSFA storms through to the heat semi-finals!

Robot SMASH!!
I think Ive got the advantage in terms of ground clearance here. Aim for the sides, slide underneath and crunch away. Kodys stats say Killobites armour isnt the best, so Ill see how many holes I can make and try to pit it if things start looking bad for me.
