Yeah that sounds fine Liam; having actually competed in a tag-team event at Christmas, I can say it definetly is hell, all the rules go out the window and everyone just attacks everyone else (doing your best not to attack your own teammate!)

Mechavore & Flipping Madd 7 vs. The Rock & Life and Death: I say that we deal with both robots in a clever way. Mechavore lacks a scrimech, so well send in Life to overturn in, while The Rock and Death will keep Flipping Mad at bay, as my axe should puch some nice dents into that Titanium. If Life can get Flipping Mad on its back, then I can hammer the base panel and immobiliise it that way.
Heat B
Autoism 2.0 & No Objections vs. Wheely Pure Evil 2 & Sakura: A harder fight, but a battle we can win with tactics: if WPE has wheels mounted externally, Autoism will grab a wheel and push in down the pit, provided it doesnt flip itself loose, which it wont as Ill lift it above the ground. Joey can handle Sakura, and Ill intervene if needed.
Heat C
MeCannibal 2.0 & Phoenix Down vs. Infusion Gamma & Exertion: We are screwed, with a capital SCREW :proud:. Ill target Exertion and rip that Titanium lifter off no issue. Pheonix Down can take on Infusion and pit it, then we can torment Exertion.
Heat D
W.O.R.C.K. & Nidhogg vs. Pussycat & Robochicken: Do we need tactics for this battle? Flip over Robochicken and then we KILL PUSSYCAT! My flipper will toss it OOTA without breaking a sweat!

Nitro-Gene 4.0 & The Quaestor vs. Black Panther & E Clawdius Unum: Now, I think that we should both gang-up on Clawdius. Clawdius doesnt use a Razer style self-righter - it uses a pnuematic ram, so Joey can hammer that into immobilisation, and then Ill flip it over. Black Panther will be easier to deal with - Nitro will nag at it until its at the edge, and then launch with the flipper.

Stack Crimson Thunder on the wall, wait for the count, then drum him out the ring, while 147 attacks Walk Dont Run. If either of us has problems in this battle, well btoh provide assisstance to finish the other one off.

Ill use a pair of lifters for this fight...Ill try and break Infusions traction with the forks, and take it kicking and screaming over for MeCannibal to rip apart (or more likely, the forks will be scattered to the four winds and MeCannibal will destroy itself on contact with Infusion, but thats life :P)

I may, instead of trying to take out Clawdius srimech, try and grab on to it with the axe and (in true antweight fashion) wrangle the thing into the pit.

Please Joey - try to stop Infusions ring before pushing it into me, as I dont want to MeCannibal to be torn apart. Try and push it into the wall, and then push under the ring and keep it from spinning again, then shove me into it so I can do what Tempest did and break the spinning rim. Exertion is properly easy for us to deal with, at least easIER than Infusion, but we should take out Exertion with relative ease. Ill start by tearing the scoopp, then you can pit it.
Uh...yeah, whatever you say :proud: although chances are well get creamed anyway...I may use the arena wall as a sort of makeshift brake to slow the thing down, that could work.
You might want to think twice about ripping that Titanium lifter off no issue and taking out Exertion with relative ease :rofl:
My tactics for this battle will be to drive into MeCannibal and make it shock itself out... I also still do not understand how the skirt works or functions, or more importantly what its purpose is or why it is powered. I also would like an explanation of how the skirt does not get in the way of the blades. :wink:

Firefly & System Shock vs. Sonic Boom & Door Stops
From Team Operation Destruction: Firefly...and...System Shock!
Fireflys got some sting to match its glow. 8mm titanium armour, some serious power, and a lifting plow/wedge that strangely enough works both ways up. System Shock could cause a shock, or possibly fizzle out. 4 LEM130s give it plenty of power, but the strength of those skirts are questionable. Its weapon is a static scoop and its main armour is 4mm Hardox.
From Team Dunno: Sonic Doom...and...Door Stops!
Quite the noise we may have from axlebot Sonic Boom here. Stinger-like shape and a dangerous axe-head weapon. The hubs are 10mm Hardox but the wheels are wide and, though thick, are still vulnerable. Door Stops aims to stop its opponents, clusterbot style. Each is an invertible wedge: 50kg each in weight though could spell trouble for it, but the 2 LEM130s fitted in each Door Stop seems to halt that problem.

In the arena for the house robots we have the all-new, all-evil Exa-Gore-Ic Evo with the sadistic claws and almost unmanageable 400kg weight. Oh, but there is also...Taki-san, front lifting wedge, rear cutter, should be fun...but not for the opponents! Of course, the arena is not without its own hazards! We have a pit (and trigger to open it), flame pit, floor flipper, skills saws, Discs of Death, and of course€¦the refbot, The Watcher to watch over everybody and see that there€™s no foul play€¦which is, really, in vain. :proud:

Here we are, starting the tournament fresh off with four great newcomers! Two of them are at it immediately as the scoop of Firefly connects with the axe head of Sonic Boom. Not that much of a boom, though, as the axlebot is thrown off its own trajectory and settles to the left of Firefly. The lifter turns and tries to get its weapon in there but Sonic Boom is proving too hard to catch with its shape, possibly why Daniel has quite the smirk on his face. Sonic Boom turns and gives Firefly a tap with the axe head, lifting it just past the side, but Firefly now has the axlebot right in front of him and without further ado drives right into it. Putting his plan into action Daniel brings down the weapon. BANG! The hit glances off of the 8mm titanium, just missing the top right wheel, and now scoops up the axlebot, who can do nothing now as he is being pushed towards the - BZZT! A little glancing blow from the arena saws seems to bring Firefly€™s straight line path to an end, as Sonic Boom wheels over and tags one of the Door Stops.
Now it€™s Frank€™s turn to play, as both Door Stops charge down the approaching lifter. One of them slides onto the lifter and becomes beached on top of it, while the other somehow slides under the lifter and beaches Firefly. Firefly definitely seems stuck, but isn€™t daring to use the lifter just in case the Door Stop on the lifter goes to use the pit release button€¦which is something that Sonic Boom is heading towards! System Shock suddenly bursts to life for the first time in this match. Liam seems jumpy, realizing what is about to happen, but Sonic Boom has already hit the button and the Door Stop is pushing Firefly around, trying to line it up with the pit. With an almighty CRASH, System Shock barrels into the Door Stop€™s side, not only freeing Firefly but also scooping up the Door Stop and smashing it against the wall! WHAM! It€™s become an all-out war! Daniel and Sonic Boom already know this as it speeds on over to System Shock€™s spot and gives it a smack of the hammer, but foiled by the 4mm Hardox. Meanwhile, Firefly has the OTHER Door Stop by the scoop€¦AND IT€™S DOWN THE PIT!
One part cluster down, another cluster and its partner to go€¦and WHACK! Another shocking blow, proving that Sonic Boom is really all that it says on the tin. A nice dent has now been made on System Shock€™s top, as Firefly barrels in€¦to see Sonic Boom back off. The 22mph speed carries Firefly too far and it ends up rear-ending System Shock, allowing Sonic Boom to have a go at Firefly€¦but Firefly isn€™t the one holding an opponent in place and turns around to chase him down. WHACK! Sonic Boom gives Firefly€™s lifter a nice juicy hit on the left side but only a small dent is made. In response, Firefly scoops up Sonic Boom and mashes it against the wall! WHAM! The axlebot goes flying at a subsonic speed across the arena, crashing into the wall near one of the Discs of Death, and with the axe head in front, guns down the nearby System Shock, who still has that Door Stop trapped. WHAM! Firefly is too late to intervene as Daniel slams into Liam€™s bot forcing it away from the cluster, separated from its partner.
A minute and a half to go now. Frank decides to bully System Shock rather than end up like its brother, on the wedge of Firefly, and powers towards Liam€™s creation. System Shock is apparently having some control problems and is spinning around a little, meaning the Door Stop smacks right into the side of it, and hitting the skirt€¦and going over it! Sonic Boom is there however and dodging a charge from Firefly smacks into System Shock€™s front end landing a hazardous blow directly on top! WHACK! At that moment, the yellowish blur that is Firefly cascades into the Door Stop€™s own side at full force sending it reeling across the arena but just in front of Firefly, who is following. WHAM! WHAM! Right against the wall! And€¦up goes the lifter as the Door Stop is beaches again€¦WHAM! Sonic Boom mashes into it from behind, jolting Firefly and causing it to lose control of the Door Stop, who falls down€¦OOTA! Frank sighs, shrugs, puts down the controls, and starts to tap his foot rhythmically.
An unfortunate ending for Frank€™s clusterbot, but it€™s about to get even worse for his teammate, Daniel, as System Shock barges in and smacks into Sonic Boom€™s own weapon before it can swing down! WHAM! Daniel wiggles about to get free and does so, but not before System Shock sandwiching his weapon between himself and Firefly, who backs System Shock off and makes a beeline for the axlebot. Sonic Boom spins around to go all thwackbot on his arse but unfortunately catches a flying Firefly across the scoop and spins himself onto it. Immediately Firefly gets the lifter going but Sonic Boom merely falls off of it - OH!!! It seems he has wedged the axe head €˜neath the lifter before it went down! Is this good news or bad news? System Shock doesn€™t care what it means, and it smacks into Sonic Boom, not doing much but dragging Firefly behind it a little.
Jamie smiles and pushes forward, sending Sonic Boom onto the arena saws! OOH!!! No matter how thick the rubber is, it can still be shredded, and now strips of rubber litter the floor after that affair! Firefly now drags Sonic Boom backwards, showing the superior power as Sonic Boom tries to pull back futilely. Futilely it is indeed, as Firefly changes course for the pit. System Shock is waiting right near the pit - HE€™S FREE!!! Sonic Boom has the axe head dislodged - OH! System Shock has him, however! And€¦any moment now, BOOM! Just when Sonic Boom thought he had escapes, Liam was there to finish the job and dump him in the pit.

Door Stops is stopped from progressing further, while Sonic Boom€™s wavelength is cut short.

Achilles & Wedge Devolution vs. Orka MK4 & Another Night at the Bar
€œFrom Team Vengeance For All: Achilles€¦and€¦Wedge Devolution!€Â
You€™d be hard put to find Achilles€™ heel: it€™s quite the pneumatic and hydraulic flipper with 4 S28s powering the drive, and improved armour, however you won€™t find it to be too damaging, as with his partner, Wedge Devolution. The Devo has yet to really devolve, though. Its LEM130s and CO2 weapon power are able to get the job done countless times, and 4mm Hardox armour is a plus as well.
€œFrom Team Various Dinowarriors: Orka MK4€¦and€¦Another Night at the Bar!€Â
Orka MK4 jumps in with a splash, good speed, good armour, and good power. Its lifter and claw weapons can work in conjunction, and it has a dorsal fin to right it. But it€™s never a party without Another Night at the Bar, who has a deadly 75kJ spinning bar which hits low at all times. The armour is tough, and centered more around the bottom half, but it€™s doubtful to be of use here.
Note: Achilles will use its pneumatic system for the flipper this time around.

It€™s a god versus a whale, as Achilles and Orka come to blows. However, that€™s all they do, as both blade and scoop cancel out and grind to a halt. One can smell the burning rubber the ground is making of their tires as each works to move the other away€¦and it seems that Achilles is winning this battle, as Orka is forced slowly backward. All of a sudden he moves much further backward, as Achilles finally finds room underneath the scoop, and sliding under it gives it a toss. FLIP! Orka is launched about halfway across the arena, bouncing off one side and onto the other, before coming to rest on its back. Achilles is all over over this one, and mows him down just as the dorsal fin srimech comes into play. Unfortunately for Alex, Orka€™s landing is not directly on topp of the flipper, and before Achilles can react, Orka falls off the wedge completely, and off to the side.
Wedge Devolution and Another Night at the Bar remain quiet as their partners continue to fight it out. Orka is off towards Achilles€™ rear left side, trying to pryy under the skirt, but a quick whirl from the PTT5 champ finds Orka touching noses with him again, and again it€™s in Alex€™s favour. FLIP! With an almighty heave of the flipper, Achilles throws Orka into a direct 360, where the whalebot lands right on all 6 wheels before getting another shove from Achilles but again the clearances stalemate each other. Chris can€™t seem to win a pushing match with Alex and so backs away, letting Achilles push him€¦oho! He€™s feinted to the right, and Achilles has blown by! Chris takes the opportunity that€™s given to him€¦and is successful! He€™s gotten under the right hand skirt, and now the entire side€¦and now the claw comes in! Achilles is trapped, and Alex knows it.
What he doesn€™t know is that Wedge Devolution has broken the one-on-one suddenly and sped right towards Orka, ramming into its side with as much force as an F5 tornado. Another Night at the Bar registers this as a good time to act and does so, the bar spinning wildly. FLIP! Orka AND Achilles get sent for a trip along the arena floor, Achilles still held fast by Orka€™s claw, and both robots inverted. The dorsal fin comes up, but nothing is achieved as the combined size and weight of both of them is too much for the srimech to handle. Similarly, Achilles, knowing the bar won€™t do much good here, fires the flipper, but only nearly rights them, and they crash back down. They are interrupted by another grand slam from Wedge Devo, who smacks into Orka€™s top and tosses it. FLIP! Chris is forced to release Achilles now and does so; instantly, Achilles sails out of his grasp in mid-flip. Martijn however has had enough, and Bar plants a blow on the oblivious Wedge Devo.
CRASH!!!
A very decent blow, but it is taken just as well by the 4mm Hardox rear panel. In fact, it€™s spun Wedge Devo around and sent Bar flying backwards into the nearby wall! His attention diverted, Wedge Devo attacks Bar, smacking into him and giving the axlebot a good taste of the flipper. FLIP! The left set of wheels is vaulted into the air, crashing down as Bar is inverted now, the axle actually rotating to keep the bar hitting low, but that doesn€™t faze Steve. What does faze him is the form of Orka ramming into his rear! WHAM! The skirt is rammed with such force that it flies skyward, though still holding strong onto the main body, but it€™s allowed Orka to get under Wedge Devo and€¦in turn, allow Achilles to sneak in behind Orka itself and toss it. FLIP! Wedge Devo is actually flipped itself, but it€™s Orka who takes the full force of the flip, sailing straight over the stricken Wedge Devo€¦AND OVER THE ARENA WALL! There€™s no hiding that dejected expression on Chris Mason€™s face€¦
With his teammate gone, Martijn€™s bot sprints away from the incoming Achilles as Wedge Devo rights itself. The bar spins up quite quickly, and he€™s ready to face his opponents. Steve is confident in his bot€™s earlier ability to take a full hit and keep going like nothing happened, and so moves in again, this time trying hard to make sure Bar hits the front. Bar swerves this way and that, but Wedge Devo keeps the rotational direction inline, and scoots straight into Bar€™s direction of rotation.
CRASH!
Not a major hit, but it had the effect Steve wanted: Bar goes flying up and over top of Wedge Devo, who is still looking just fine, and straight in front of Achilles. The orange wedge amscrays into Bar€™s gut immediately, burying it onto the wedge, and there€™s nothing Bar can do now, all 4 wheels are off the ground, and€¦FLIP!
CEASE!
Orka MK 4 gets all netted up in the business, while Another Night at the Bar goes home to sober up.

OK, now Im confused about MeCannibal again :proud: and I do actually have something to add to those tactics; if Flipping Mad refuses to pay us the courtesy of dying, Ill use Death to grapple on to it and do a kamikaze run to send us both down the pit.

The tactics for Monolith are pretty self explanitory here. Drive into Shredderator, slow down that weapon and then try and get it into the pit. Infusion is more effective when inverted then I am, so I suggest Aaron takes on Bigger Brother. We also know how much damage Hypno Disc caused to Bigger Brother...
Going back to MeCannibal - what is the motor driving the skirt for? If it is to hold the skirt flush to the ground while spinning it will effect your weapon alot (with friction resistance etc...) If it is to raise the skirt while spinning, Im pretty sure the gyroscopic forces will raise it without the need for extra power. The skirt itself is also a problem - especially if you are wanting it to work both ways up. If the skirt is a ring, I cannot understand how it touches the floor. It would need to be angled if that makes sense, and therefore it wouldnt work that well upside down. Another problem I had was that the skirt would rest on top of the blades if you are flipped.
Its a similar case to the anti-spinner ring. I know there are faults, but I cant explain them well enough to tell the designer what I mean. :lame:
The point of the skirt that raises when the weapon spins is to combat the dinosaur-era dating tsactic of fighting FBS and going stop it from getting up to speed as due to the skirt, it means that any scoop or flipper MUST let it spin before they attack.
And its only designed to work one way up, because I designed it like that :lame:

Infusion Helix & Monolith vs. Bigger Brother & Shrederator
€œFrom Team SpunOut: Infusion Helix€¦and€¦Monolith!€Â
Ram or spin, Infusion Helix aims to win, or so it€™s said. It€™s the first of the 8 Infusion robots to compete and comes with a complex ramming system and rear spinning rim. Monolith is quite possibly the obelisk of this tournament, with a seemingly undamageable 10mm Hardox monocoque, and more powerful drive than Tornado.
€œFrom Team After-Life: Bigger Brother€¦and€¦Shrederator!â‚ Â
Our first real robot team up in the form of Bigger Brother, who is apparently constructed from bulletproof armour, the 750w electric motors make it look obsolete these days, but it is not to be underestimated. Shrederator might be doing all the shredding, a full-body spinner with D-Pack motors for weapon power, and is arguably one of the best spinners around.

Strangely enough, it€™s Monolith who comes out first from Team SpunOut, to clash with Bigger Brother, it seems. The skirts are fitted to Monolith for this battle and the two meet nose to nose! And it looks like Monolith€™s in trouble because the plate of the RW5 runner up has slid under the front of Monolith and FLIP! Over it goes! It€™s invertible, but its ramming power is rendered useless now, and so Infusion Helix is forced to come out early and attack. Shrederator responds by driving straight at Infusion with the shell at full speed. Infusion, surprisingly enough, ignores Shrederator and heads for Bigger Brother with the wedge, who seems to be trying to cause down Monolith. BZZT! Monolith runs over the arena saws but he seems to be okay at the moment, and there€™s no bits of rubber anywhere. WHAM! Infusion mashes into Bigger Brother and sends it towards the arena wall! WHAM! Bigger Brother is shot over top of Infusion and lands directly in front of the rim€¦
CRASH!!!
A staggering blow, and the Robot Wars veteran gets sent into a ridiculous pirouette across the arena, but that€™s allowed Shrederator to slide in and have a go at the split-second opportunity that is Infusion€™s motionless rim!
CRASH!!!
Infusion is sent keeling, as is Shrederator, but the heavy blow doesn€™t really accomplish much, as the 10mm Hardox rim of Infusion is still completely whole, and completely spinning up again. Monolith barges in, but misses its tackle as Shrederator backs off and spins up for another slightly vain attempt at trying to outmuscle Infusion. AJ isn€™t going to let Samuel and the Shrederator boys get away that easily, however, and keeps the momentum through, eventually coming into contact with the deadly full body spinner.
CRASH!!!
Monolith is blasted backwards, the small frame of it sent keeling, as Shrederator bounces back a few inches, but it€™s quite clear that Monolith is tougher than he looks. Absolutely NO damage, at least externally, can be seen at all, and AJ hopes that the internals didn€™t get shocked too much either. Unfortunately, that€™s the moment when Bigger Brother comes back into the play and sneaks around to Monolith€™s side while he€™s stunned, sneaks under the skirts, and lets loose a mighty flip! FLIP! Monolith gets wrangled up and onto his back, which does, really, hardly anything as Monolith can work both ways up, except that the wedge don€™t do anything that way. Infusion ain€™t too keen on fighting Shrederator right now and goes back for Bigger Brother, who is picking on Monolith still, but the pesky Watts family robot outmanoeuvres Monolith and tosses him right up onto Infusion! Shrederator takes the opportunity while it€™s given to them.
CRASH!!!
Many sparks, but Infusion ain€™t moved at all thanks to having the weight of Monolith on him, and strangely enough Monolith has stayed on top of Infusion. Shrederator however has been blown quite far across the arena, and right up near Sgt. Bash€™s CPZ. The Sergeant comes forward, claw poised, only to miss as Shrederator moves away. Whiles that happened, Bigger Brother was able to take advantage of an impaired Infusion, and getting under both of them lets loose! FLIP! Infusion sails up onto his back and Monolith lands€¦under him! Shrederator is back and looking to do some damage, but Monolith escapes. Infusion lands with a dull thud, but it€™s too late as 0.1 seconds later, Bigger Brother is under his side, and€¦FLIP! What a surprise€¦Infusion topples outside of the arena! The audience is completely shocked, but Aaron mutters something under his breath.
Monolith is now completely alone, and decides to, tactically, attack Shrederator. Shrederator is more than willing to greet him, but Bigger Brother is too eager and shoots off towards Monolith€™s side. The result is a FLIP! As Bigger Brother gets the side and skirts of Monolith, he tosses, and Monolith goes sailing€¦right-side-up. The bad news: Shrederator careens straight into Bigger Brother!
CRASH!!!
Danny moans as a large piece of armour comes flying off of the Watts machine, which gets sent back a considerable distance into the wall. AJ looks absurdly pleased at this slightly ridiculous turn of events and guns forward on Phrizbee€™s successor - BZZT! Oops, Monolith gets hit by the saws€¦which don€™t really affect him that much but it does allow Shrederator to get away and spin up. Bigger Brother seems to be having some problems now, he€™s moving quite slowly. Samuel, however, gets an idea and circles the closed pit. Monolith gives chase, and Shrederator moves away€¦unfortunately, his plan of luring Monolith into a CPZ doesn€™t work: Monolith is too fast!
CRASH!!!
Another heavy duty blow, and Shrederator dusts the floor of the Battlegrounds with his tires, sending him flying - BUT WAIT! His plan DID work, as the direction of rotation sent Monolith right into that same CPZ!!! Monolith is stuck along the wall, and backs up to try and move away, but Matilda cuts him off€¦only to be gotten under and shoved back. Sgt. Bash is next and smacks into the side of Monolith, the claw penetrating those skirts which don€™t seem to be helping Monolith much, and squeezes. Shrederator nails the pit release button and starts spinning again. Meanwhile, The Watcher is counting Bigger Brother, who hasn€™t done much moving around, at all.

One on one, now, and Monolith is hooked in place by Sgt. Bash, while Matilda backs up and rams Monolith with the tusks, finally getting under that wedge and stacking Monolith up against the CPZ. Shrederator is waiting patiently just outside the zone, as Matilda turns around. AJ smirks, quite confident he€™ll be able to stand up to Matilda€™s weapon.
CRASH!!!
It does€¦but it sends Monolith straight onto Sgt. Bash€™s claw again! Fortunately for AJ, the Watcher moves back in and pushes the house robots away€¦allowing Shrederator to most in past the ref!

Shrederator is blasted back yet again, and Monolith doesn€™t look too damaged€¦or is it? Something€™s wrong. Monolith isn€™t moving at all. AJ taps the controls, but no sudden movements come from his tough nut of a robot€¦and so The Watcher moves in and starts counting him out!!!

First pairing of realie and vapourbot here, Mechavore is a €˜girl€™ robot, with a 3000RPM front horizontal spinning blade, but no srimech€¦costly, but it does have skirts, though weak ones. Blue is actually Flipping Mad 7 in disguise, but captain David Sheppard renamed it for some reason. :proud: Powerful, torque-y, good armour, and a nice flipper€¦yet kind of basic€¦

The Rock is a chip off the old block, with a powerful axe, good armouring, and a decent drive, but it will run out of axe power eventually, and its sides are asking to be pentrated without skirts. Its clusterbot partner, Life & Death, may be able to help with that. Both have tracks, the same drive, and pretty much the same armouring, but Life has a flipper whilst Death has a crusher. Both can self-right.

It€™s Mechavore and Life & Death who slide out first. The blade of Mechavore can easily reach the two twins but Chezza is still wary of Life€™s flipper and doesn€™t want to take any risks. Joey knows this too, and is trying to get Life around the back of Mechavore, mainly to flip it over but also to avoid the disc. Mechavore spins around to try and ward off Life with that deadly flywheel, now at max RPM, and spins a little too far, as Death comes in from the side and slams into the skirt. Unfortunately it can€™t get under the skirt of Mechavore€™s and slightly beaches itself. It falls back off as Mechavore spins back into it, the same direction, with the disc.
CRASH!!!
Now THAT must have hurt. As Death landed, the disc caught it on the front and sent it spinning away towards a CPZ, but thankfully out of Killalot€™s reach. The front remains undamaged, but it was quite a blow nonetheless. Not that it moves Mechavore much, but Life seems to have taken this as a signal, and moves in from the rear, sliding under Mechavore€™s rear skirt! And€¦FLIP! But Mechavore only goes flying up, and comes right back down onto its wheels beside Life. Life moves in quickly towards the disc before it starts spinning up, and Chezza is backing Mechavore away quite quickly, seemingly unable to remember that the arena wall is in behind. WHAM! Mechavore pounds against it, and Life crashes in.
CRASH!
Not a full disc hit as Team JimBob wanted, but again it sends Life away, just as €˜damaged€™ as Death, and gives Mechavore plenty of time to get away. Joey is getting visibly agitated now that the plan is going slightly to seed, and through some quick thinking over with Paul, he decides to switch with Paul€™s machine, as both clusters head off in The Rock€™s direction and tag it. Chezza also seems to have had enough play time and speaks to Dave in the control booth, indirectly resulting in Mechavore bumping into Blue with the rear skirt.
The Rock and Blue come to blows almost immediately from the time they are tagged. It€™s Blue however that gets the leverage going and sneaks under the front of The Rock with the titanium strip, thus receiving a heavy axe blow in return. WHACK! The axe hits the 4mm Hardox and bounces back, unharmed. FLIP! Blue graces the axe blow with a gigantic flip that sends The Rock airborne and into the side wall, hitting it on an angle so that its side is facing the wall. Blue moves in to finish The Rock off when Paul hits the axe button again, righting The Rock and moving it away from Blue, as Blue gives chase. Dave seems to be enjoying himself. The same cannot be said for Paul, as The Rock turns around and once again has his front wedge foiled by Blue€™s own. FLIP! At this point, Joey decides that it€™s a good time to come into the battle again, and Life & Death return to the fray. Chezza doesn€™t miss it at all, and Mechavore re-enters as well, cutting Death off immediately.
CRASH!!!
A devastating hit! The 4mm titanium side armour is mangled, and the blow has hardly sent Death flying, or stopped Mechavore€™s disc, who moves in again, but Death amscrays outta there before anything uglier can happen. The Rock is righting itself as Blue moves in, and gets shoved into by Life! FLIP! Now Blue gets a taste of his own medicine. Mechavore hurries in to try and take out Life; Joey sees it coming and hastily backs Life away, a little too late.
CRASH!!!
The side armour of Life gets it now, however it takes the blow considerably better than Death did, only a dent is made, but it has sent Life away again. The Rock crashes into Mechavore instead while the disc is stopped and brings down the axe! WHACK! OOOHHH!!! A very heavy blow dealt to the top armour of Mechie: that is a very clean hole put there by that axe, and that axe retracts to try doing that again. Its chances are foiled when Blue moves in from the side and gives it a toss. FLIP! The Rock sails into a 360 and Blue keeps with it, flipping it again! FLIP! This time The Rock lands inverted, but before it can be flipped again, a recovered Death moves back in and tackles Blue€™s side! The crusher sinks and meets the 4mm Hardox, unable to penetrate it, but it has beached Blue slightly. Mechavore gives Death another hefty blow from behind while it€™s distracted!
CRASH!!!
This time it€™s Mechavore who gets sent back slightly, but in doing so, Death has received all the shock, all the damage€¦and, I think, all the life has run out! Not to mention that Blue has been freed. Mechavore€™s disc has completely stopped, however€¦and Life moves in! FLIP! And it looks like Mechavore is out! They€™re on their back and unable to self-right! Blue meets an incoming The Rock again, and again gets under and tosses, straight into Life, who has his teammate come down on him hard. What€™s this? Blue is going over to Mechavore AND FLIPPING! Mechavore is back in action! No countout! However, the disc still isn€™t working€¦Life senses this, and tosses The Rock off of him, trying to get to Mechavore first€¦and Blue gets under Life€™s flipper! He€™s going for the arena wall! FLIP! Life sails straight over the wall and onto the camera track. Joey sighs and mutters something about a €˜cappuccino€™. As he says this, The Rock is again righted and smacks into Mechavore€™s side, getting the skirt, and taking Mechavore all the way into the DISC OF DEATH!
CRASH!!!
Well! That€™s more damage to Mechavore than I thought we€™d see! The top armour is shredded almost completely, and smoke is coming out in large quantities. As Mechavore slowly trundles away, Chezza looking panicked, Blue homes in on The Rock€™s location and moves about, but The Rock turns just in time€¦to be gotten under! FLIP! Dave smiles as The Rock sails, straight into Killalot€™s CPZ! Sir Killalot moves in, getting the claw into the side and lifting him up€¦Paul smacks the axe frantically. WHACK! Wait€¦what the€¦Killalot has stopped moving??? The Rock has smacked Killalot straight in the side€¦and the house robot stopped, with his prey in his claw, still upraised. Dave and Chezza look at each other and nod: both Mechavore and Blue charge Killalot and bean him: Blue gets the leverage€¦FLIP! The Rock sails out of Killalot€™s grasp as the mighty house robot slowly topples onto its back! Growler apparently does nothing, which is shocking indeed.
The Rock is back in the fight and ready to do some more damage, as Mechavore bravely yet slowly charges in. Problem is, time is running out in the match with 20 seconds to go. The Rock brings the axe down but just misses, but Mechavore can€™t really respond with a slower drive and immobile disc. Blue decides to move in and help. It tackles The Rock, but for the first time in the match it fails to get under The Rock€™s front end and goes up onto it! WHACK! The axe does hit home this time, denting the 4mm Hardox on top. Mechavore backs into The Rock€™s side and actually beaches it with the skirt! Paul hits the axe button again but that smacks Blue again instead of freeing him. The dent is made even bigger. Mechavore backs up€¦towards Growler€™s CPZ!

Jamie, I think well be OK here. Mechavore is no match for either of our bots (I hope), but Blue is of a challenge. If we open the pit at the start and try to push Mechavore in, then we can work together to defeat Blue.

Just realised in my stats for Firefly that I never stated what the plough was made of! :uhoh:
I know I cant change it or define it now but whatever it is (titanium, cardboard, a wet sponge) I hope its strong enough to stand up to Mechavores disc. It does however have no srimech, so Liam, I could aim to tip him over with the plough lifter and that takes Mechavore out of the equation (although I hope he doesnt rip my plough off in the same way as me ripped Biohazards lifting arm off - just saw the vid on Youtube :))
Blue doesnt worry me too much, as although its a flipper, Firefly can run both ways up so if it flips me (and provided I dont get stacked against the arena wall or OOTAd or lose a connection through shock-impacting) I can still continue on.
Good idea with the pit Liam, lets get it open early and try and get them down it, without going down ourselves beforehand! :)

Spin up, Go crazy on Achilles. Just wait until its flipper activates, and crash into it so I can burst open its Co2 tank.
Alex says hell go for Shrederator. With his powerful flipper and tough front, he should be able to flip it over and/or out.
Ill go for Bigger Brother. Tactics here are to avoid the flipping arm (Should hopefully have a time against my skirts), shove it into hazards and down the pit. Be cautious in flipping, as Ill no doubt need plenty of gas for self-righting.
Just to point the shape of achilles front (tapered) means that shrederator wouldnt be able to get to my tanks because the front would be in the way.

Strangely enough, all four competitors are right off the mark from the get-go. The flippers of Bigger Brother and Wedge Devolution meet edge-to-edge as Achilles screams towards the whirling mass that is Shrederator. Shrederator turns away from the charge but finds himself being chased down almost immediately by the PTT5 winner. It doesn€™t look like he can turn fast enough like that again, as Achilles barrels into him, sliding underneath the shell and tossing Shrederator! FLIP! The cylinder comes down flat on the floor, thus keeping some of its spin but is harried again by Achilles! FLIP! Shrederator goes flying onto its back, and seemingly unable to move! How quick was that?
Whiles this was going on, Bigger Brother was having some trouble of its own with Wedge Devo, as the more powerful robot shoved the Watts robot across the arena and into the arena wall! WHAM! The vibration causes Bigger Brother to tilt, and end up straight on Wedge Devo€™s flipper. Steve isn€™t going too try and pit Bigger Brother, so close to wall, as turning may bounce Bigger Brother off the wedge and give it freedom, so he decides to risk an OOTA attempt. FLIP! A no go, as Bigger Brother slides along the wall and hits the Disc of Death casing but thankfully not the disc itself. However, it€™s Achilles, back from beating up and immobilizing Shrederator, who interferes with Bigger Brother€™s getaway plan, as he slides under the side before Bigger Brother can get the hell out, and tosses it again, again not an OOTA, but now turning Bigger Brother over.
Dan tries to self-right the realie, but Achilles and Wedge Devolution are right there, as Wedge Devo gives the realie another gigantic toss before it can do so, this time overtop of Achilles, who backs up as Bigger Brother lands on its back again, and on Achilles€™ wedge, and then Achilles starts to push it towards Mr. Psycho€™s CPZ. Bigger Brother fires the flipper to right itself, but it just ends up going in front of Achilles again, as Achilles gets under the rear again and finishes the shove. The giant house robot drops the claw onto Bigger Brother€™s flipping arm and squeezes it, as Wedge Devo turns for the immobile Shrederator, and before The Watcher can start to count it out, gets under it, and takes it to the arena wall. Samuel is praying for a miracle, but it€™s not going to happen, as€¦FLIP! A heave of the flipper and Wedge Devo lands another OOTA on its scorecard, Shrederator back onto its wheels, but unfortunately on the wrong side of the fence.
Bigger Brother meanwhile is in dire straits, held fast in the grip of Mr. Psycho as Achilles waits nearby. Wedge Devo returns from finishing off Shrederator, and Obelix remains stationary, as Mr. Psycho ominously leaves the CPZ and heads over to the arena saws, placing the flipperbot on there. BZZT!!! The saws pop up right under Bigger Brother and score the underbelly with a dreadful gash. The flipper of Bigger Brother activates again, letting loose a snort of CO2 in the process but it€™s not doing much good, as Mr. Psycho has a firm grip€¦and then releases him. Steve is ready, and Wedge Devo races in. Bigger Brother can€™t seem to turn fast enough and is breached under the left side by Steve, who takes it straight across the arena and into the pit release button. WHAM! The pit descends and Achilles waits nearby. FLIP! Bigger Brother sails into the air€¦and meets the same fate as his partner, Shrederator: on the wrong side of the fence!
It seems like the match is over, but Steve and Alex are talking in the CPZ, and nod: Achilles heads over to Obelix€™s CPZ and tries to get around the side; Obelix turns around, but a slight reverse manoeuvre from Alex finds Obelix vulnerable at the other side, which Achilles takes gratefully. FLIP! Obelix is inverted! Mr. Psycho is out immediately and gets tackled by a screaming Wedge Devo. Achilles has Obelix, and unfortunately for the house robot, it€™s the closest CPZ to the pit! And Achilles€¦has him down it! BOOM! Obelix fires the hammer in disgust.
One house robot down, one more to go, and Wedge Devo isn€™t having the best luck in the world, as Mr. Psycho can be gotten under but due to the weight and centre of gravity, Steve can hardly find any room for a flip. Achilles races in to help while The Watcher€¦just sits there. Evidently he appears to be enjoying the futility of the situation, but it appears futile no more, for just as Wedge Devo gets a smack in the front with the hammer, Achilles rams the front of Mr. Psycho and both robots achieve what Wedge Devo alone could not: Mr. Psycho is slid under and wedged, and now Steve and Alex glance at each other, and simultaneously hammer the flipper buttons. It is as expected: the combined pressure sends Mr. Psycho tilting backwards, and ultimately he ends right up onto his own head. The Watcher holds up the yellow card at last, as both winners spin around to cheers from the crowd.

It€™s the Big Brother house for the RW5 runner up, while Shrederator thankfully leaves the arena in one piece. :proud:

One-on-one returns, as Firefly cautiously approaches the blade of Mechavore. That may not be such a great strategy as the disc has just about reached full speed, and a slight smile appears on Chezza€™s face. Jamie manoeuvres his bot around the side, but Mechavore is right there with the disc, and moves in. Firefly€™s drive speed is well up there, but Mechavore is just too damn close!
CRASH!!!
The side takes the hit and sends Firefly spinning away, and Liam loses it: immediately, System Shock flies out and tackles Mechavore while its weapon is down, and Blue reacts just as suddenly, he goes for System Shock€™s sides skirts and easily penetrates them. FLIP! Slid under and flipped, System Shock goes sailing across the arena. Mechavore and Blue are side-by-side, and they charge at Firefly who€™s coming back in on the attack. Blue moves in first, and he meets Firefly nose to nose, as Mechavore moves in from the side. Not wanting to be sliced a new one, Firefly backs up and allows Blue to come at him again, thus allowing the incoming System Shock a free blow on Mechavore, which he takes. WHAM! The side of Mechavor is smacked and the skirts are just as impotent as System Shock€™s own, as Mechavore is tilted and System Shock takes her to the arena wall! WHAM! It€™s just too bad that Mechavore goes flying up and over System Shock, actually cutting the top in the process!
CRASH!!!
The armour stands up well, as sparks fly, but what can be said about the tires? That may become apparent later as Firefly barges in, away from Blue, and slams into Mechavore€™s rear end. Before he can lift it up however, Blue imitates Firefly€™s slam on Firefly itself, and FLIP! Firefly is tipped up and onto Mechavore! Liam€™s tapping the controls, and system Shock appears to be okay, as it rams into Blue€™s side and takes HIM all the way to the CPZ this time! It€™s empty€¦WHAM! Blue is rammed into the patrol zone, and Cassius Chrome zooms out, while Double Big Mac takes his time. System Shock holds him there as Mechavore backslams Firefly into the arena wall and pins him against it, inches from the pit release button. Mechavore swifty turns around and catches the falling Firefly with the disc!
CRASH!!!
Another full hit, and it€™s ripped up a fair amount of top armouring on Firefly, but it sends him away and out of harm€™s reach. Mechavore backs off to spin up its blade, and Firefly turns around and comes right at it! Unfortunately it€™s not in line with Mechie and has to adjust its positioning, and Mechavore takes off. Not for long though as Firefly pursues it and catches the rear skirt, lifting the rear of Mechavore up! Chezza tries to get it away€¦and Mechavore tilts and falls away, spinning off the arm and smacking into Firefly€™s front scoop!
CRASH!!!
The scoop takes the hit with a large dent, but it seems to be unharmed€¦and Firefly charges straight in while Mechavore€™s disc is down! The front is breached, the arm lifts, and a few seconds later, Mechavore is belly up! Not good. As for Blue, he€™s in a bit of trouble himself. Cassius Chrome has just rammed into him with his own scoop and €˜punching€™ him with the rather ineffective fists. Of course, they€™re completely blocking DBM€™s path to Blue, and DBM does the only thing he can do: goes for System Shock, who is also in the CPZ!

A very devastating blow, even for 4mm Hardox armour. The rear panel is completely gone, exposing the chassis and some of System Shock€™s internals. It€™s also sent the mighty house robot right up onto its back€¦which Firefly casually pushes onto the pit and backrams the pit release button, sending it down. It then goes over to help System Shock, who doesn€™t look like he€™s moving. He gets to Cassius Chrome side and lifts, slowly angling the 200kg housie, and evenetually getting him onto his side. Blue is stuck on top of System Shock, so that may be the reason for System Shock€™s lack of motion. Firefly gets to System Shock€™s side and wedges underneath the skirt and body, reversing and letting Blue off of Liam€™s bot€¦and nope. System Shock is certainly dead from Double Big Mac€™s blow. Blue races off towards Mechavore€¦much too late.

Just as Blue manages to right Mechavore. Mechavore is mobile again, but remains counted out. Firefly is panicked, but immediately goes for Dave€™s machine. Mechavore speeds in to get in the way, but Firefly speeds by and Blue takes the chance: getting to Firefly€™s side, he tosses it. FLIP! Firefly goes into the air but seems to be okay. Blue comes in again€¦only to ride up Firefly€™s scoop! Mechavore moves towards Firefly with the disc and€¦misses. Firefly lifts up Blue and carries him towards the pit. Dave fires the flipper but unfortunately that does hardly anything, as Blue is pushed nearer and nearer towards the pit€¦and Mechavore finally gets Firefly from behind!
CRASH!!!
A large piece of titaium comes flying off of Firefly€™s rear panel and sent Jamie€™s robot flying away€¦it seems all in vain though as Blue is teetering on the edge of the pit. Firefly spins around and shoots towards Blue to finish the job. Mechavore intervenes, but is pushed right into Blue, who falls down into the hole, and Mechavore a second later.

Mechavore needs a diet plan, while Blue seems quite only that.
Firefly and System Shock advance to the Heat A Final!!
HEAT A - SO FAR€¦
Round 1
Firefly and System Shock took the boom out of Sonic Boom, while Door Stops was stopped in its tracks.
Achilles and Wedge Devolution sent Orka MK4 back to the sea, and upchucked Another Night at the Bar.
Bigger Brother and Shrederator pulled off a great upset on the impressive Infusion Helix, and Monolith.
Mechavore and Blue smashed The Rock to pieces, and sent Life & Death to hell, in a tight judges decision.
Round 2
Achilles and Wedge Devolution easily disposed of Bigger Brother and Shrederator, and the house robots.

Well Jamie, Im really happy that weve reached the heat final. But I think this where it ends...

Certainly this will be a tough match-up. Two new competitors against two very experienced, very seasoned pros.
Both flippers, but were both invertible so their weapons dont pose a massive concern, unless were talking OOTAs or getting stacked etc
Wedge Devolution flies the Scotland flag, so a bit of fellow countryman rivalry here. In its stats, Wedge Devo is listed as having 2 x 12v 3amp NiCad packs, giving 36v @ 12amp but by my reckoning that will either equal 12V and 6amp or 24V and 3amp which is riskily short for a full length battle, so one option if we cant beat them by knockout is to prolong the battle and see if Wedge Devo runs out of batteries :proud:
As for Achilles, pit sounds good to me Liam if we can :)
Two invertible pushers here. Hmm...looks tricky, but I think I have a plan.
While Fireflys lifter appears to work upside-down, System Shocks scoop does not, being based on Tornados. While one of us distracts Firefly, the other can flip System Shock over, rendering its scoop useless, then have an easier time trying to pit or OOTA it. Once rid of one, team up on the other.
Any preferences, Alex? :lame:
