Immediately from the off AJ makes a quick start whilst Martijn leaves his robot somehwat more defensively on the blocks. Whilst this is often a positive tactic for spinners, in A Night At The Bars case it just does him no good whatsover as SoR 5.5 charges straight at him, firing the flipper and almost managing the fastest flip out of the arena in Fowler Fic War history. A Night At The Bar moves away from the wall though and runs into the centre of the arena, twirling around against the movement of the speeding up arm.
AJ decides that now is as good a time as any to follow A Night At The Bar and charges head long into the doubly-spinning machine. The impact makes a huge crash, sparks fly and both robots fly away makign it difficult to tell exactly whose come off worse. A Night At The Bar has remained remarkably balanced though and other than grinding a few small scratches into our arena floor (Bills in the post) he still looks unscathed. AJs machine takes a little longer to come to so to speak, though when he begins moving again, other than a scratch in the 4mm Hardox monocoque he appears to be moving freely, albeit a little sheepishly.
Martijns got his machine up to speed again once more and tries to manouvre towards SoR however being an axlebot, his progress is sluggish to say the least. This gives AJ plenty of chance to turn around and bring the bar into play. Martijns machine finally goes for SoR but at the last minute AJ traverses away, bringing the bar smack bang into the tyre which is torn on impact. Immediately this changes the balance of A Night At The Bar who begins wobbling and rocking though just about staying stable. AJ comes in at the side of the barely moveable machine and slams the bar onto the side of the tyre hubs. A Night At The Bar spins away and goes a little mad, looking a bit like the rocking chair on steroids that Martijn feared it could turn into.
AJs not giving up and slams in again, this time spinning A Night At The Bar Away and staright into the arena wall. The bar smacks into one of the angle grinders and immediately stops dead. Martijn tries to move his machine away but before he can manage it, AJs come in again, this time with the flipper. He fires underneath him and manages to stack A Night At The Bar, though the shape sees him wobbling around dangerously. AJs not gonna waste another opportunity though and fires the flipper again, this time sending A Night At The Bar over the fence like a Scottish caber and out of the competition.
CEASE
A Night At The Bars gonna need more than a few drinks to get over this one. SoR goes through to the heat final.
And so the heat final
SoR (25) v Drilla Killa 7
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, Nice Silk Ties?
Depending on what Drilla Killas like nowadays it might put up a half decent fight...I think itll end in an OOTA for SOR though.

Straight from the off both machines seem to have a plan in mind as unlike the usual straight charge into the middle, both machines more pensively approach each other, though it does seem to be SoR who moves off as the quicker of the 2. The 2 machines meet front on, but immediately this goes to prove that the wedge of Drilla Killa and the flipper plater of SoR are both right along the ground as the 2 grind against each other for a second, before Drilla Killas superior pushing power shows and he races across the arena, slamming SoR into the opposite arena sidewall. Sparks fly as the rear bar of SOR crashes against the metal walls that cage the 2 robots in, and the impact has also allowed Rich to slide underneath SoR and he begins spinning the drill repeatedly up into the underbelly of SoR causing sparks to rise repeatedly as the drill weapon attempts to do its worst. Eventually Drilla Killa has to let go of its prey. and AJ wastes no time at all in running away from the sidewall before skid spinning back to have the front facing Drilla Killa.
Rich has seen now that AJs robot has its weaknesses against him, and immediately comes charging back at him, this time with the drill out, presumably to prevent the risk of SoR sliding underneath but also in an attempt to damage the flipper plate. AJ sees the charge coming a mile off though, and waits until the last possible moment before spinning round and allowing the spinning bar to meet with the drill. Sparks fly and when AJ backs off the drill has stopped spinning. Rich notices this and wonders whats happened to his weapon. He brings it back inside the machine, before prodding it back out again. The experiment shows that although the drill is no longer spinning it is still there as a ram, and so Rich brings it back inside the wedge for a later point where he might need it. Whilst Rich has been flapping around about his weapon though, AJ has got straight round the back of Drilla Killa and has his flipper underneath the inverted wedge. He fires the flipper once but manages only to lift him slightly off the ground, but as hes falling down SoR manages to get further underneath Drilla Killa, this time driving him at the wall and firing the flipper, which throws Drilla Killa 7 over and stacks him against one of the angle grinders. Drilla Killa 7 is now at AJs mercy.
Aj stops for a moment, seemingly puzzled as to whether or not his flipper can throw Drilla Killa over the angle grinder from the position hes in. He decides its worth a shot, but not before slamming the bar into the wedge thats pointing at the ground, a few scratches appearing on the paintwork of the 5mm hardox machine. He then turns around to get the flipper in position and fires. Drilla Killa goes up, but comes back down, and this time lands on his wheels, much to the relief of Rich who immediately starts pegging it across the centre of the arena and straight into the pit release button. That is not going to happen again appears to be the message from Rich and as the siren sounds and the pit descends, AJ flies back at him, trying to get him at an angle where he cant use the pit. The speed of the approach though sends him straight onto Drilla Killa 7s wedge though and Rich immediately starts the shove towards the pit. He cant quite line it up right though, and sends SoR just past the corner of the pit. Rich has to reverse as he has no room to turn and so lets AJ off the wedge, leaving the score for near misses at one a piece. SoR charges down to the opposite end of the arena, making sure that if Rich wants to repeat that attempt he has to try even harder to do it. Drilla Killa comes after him, sticking the drill out momentarily, but after the last time, Rich thinks better of it and it immediately pokes back into its wedge.
AJ seems a little more pensieve this time and slowly meanders around the bottom end of the arena, with the bar facing Drilla Killas direction, presumably waiting for the next attack. Rich sees the ground clearance and goes flying in, getting underneath SoR but only for as long as it takes for SoRs bar to spin again, which leaves scratches in the front wedge again but also throws SoR off the wedge. Cleaver thinking from AJ, and the state of disorientation it leaves Rich in is enough to allow AJ to get SoR around the back of Drilla Killa and fire the flipper again, this time throwing Drilla Killa over first time. AJ tries to move around the back to do it again, but Rich turns around and the 2 wedges face again. Drilla Killa 7 rams SoR into the wall again but this time finds himself ending up on the flipper of SoR after the impact. SoR pushes back against Drilla Killa only for Drilla Killas 2 rear wheels to find some grip and start spinning against the floor, casing a deadlock in the shoving war between the 2 veteran machines. SoR soon realises that this is pointless and chucks Drilla Killa over. Rich has been flipped over a lot in this battle but his machine is still going.
With very little left to go in the fight, Drilla Killa charges back in and this time has some more luck, getting underneath SoR this time, and flings him with the drill bit, managing to throw SoR over, almost reminiscent of Spawn of Scutters weapon in series 4. SoR self-rights immediately but just ends up back on the wedge and finds himself being flung back into the wall with the drill bit popping in and out into his delicate underbelly. Drilla Killa backs off for another charge, but AJ doesnt need a second invitation to get out of that situation, and comes away from the wall, and flies towards Drilla Killas side panel with his spinning bar, which again causes more sparks, before turnign slightly and doing the same to the inverted wedge on the back. Drilla Killa turns around once more as Rich frantically hammers at the controls, trying to find away of disposing of his foe before its too later, but before he manages to slam into AJs machine once again, cease is called and both the robots come to an immediate halt after the epic battle that just finished.

Leprosy Infection (11) v Psyclonized
Back to Rock 2 (27) v Killotine:Evo
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, Beechams?
Not at all bad Matty :) Good writing as ever, nice and easy to read through.
PsycloniZed is probably through, who meets him will be closer though. Ill go for BTR with it being the seed and all :P
Fantastic battle, I really liked that.
Leprosy Infection vs. Psyclonised
Shouldnt cause me too much trouble. Tear the skirts off and have a go at the armour - should be able to damage that quite nicely too. A couple of hits on the drum might be able to immobilise it as well.
Leprosy Infection (11) vs. Psyclonized
Leprosy not only has the drum, but more power in the drive. PsycloniZer only has the hammers going for him. However, I think the hammers are all he needs here. Psy FTW.
Back to Rock 2 (27) vs. Killotine: EVO
I disagree with Joey because this is the older Back to Rock, and Killy can deal with it much easier than the newer version. Killotine FTW :P.

Straight from the off Leprosy Infection charges in the direction of Psyclonized who just immediately sits on the spot and allows its hammers to get up to speed. Chris knows that to defeat the beast though hell have to charge and try and stop the hammers from the off, and so flies straight into them with the drum facing. The impact causes little as AJ hasnt fully spun his machine up, but Leprosy Infection is knocked to once side and a few sparks fly from spinner on spinner. Chris turns in again, and repeats the process hammering into the hammers of Psyclonizer, causing more sparks and again being thrown slightly off course. This time Leprosy Infection finds himself facing the machine with his rear, slamming into him again, this time managing to get to him before AJs machine has even started noticeably spinning, allowing him to push Psyclonized into the wall with a loud crash. He backs off, allowing Psyclonized to start driving forwards, but before he can give himself room to spin up again, Leprosy slams back into him with the drum, pushing him back once more, lifting him off the floor underneath the hammers. Psyclonized looks like hes beginning to panic with AJ behind the controls, as this fight hasnt started the way he meant it to one little bit.
Leprosy Infection repeats again and again, slamming into Psyclonized, preventing the favourite from moving anywhere in order to get his discs up to speed. This is superb driving from Chris, but what hes going to do for the rest of the fight remains a mystery. By this point as well, hes slammed so many times that the disc is at a halt, so no damage is being done other than possibly the odd scracth from the slams. Even so, thats enough for Chris to be well in control of this fight and he countinues, in and out, in and out, smoke flying from the wheels as he accelerates and brakes constantly for so long. However, this could be the point where Chris loses his momentum as, due to having been slammed so many times without response, the Refbot gets in the middle of the 2 to see if Psyclonizer is immobile and no sooner has he stepped in the way, does AJ move out of the way of the wall and go spinning off into the centre of the arena. This immediately seems like a hardship for Chris and his machine as Psyclonized immediately gets a chance to spin up to any kind of speed for the first time in the fight. Psyclonized is just getting up to some kind of speed when Leprosy Infection rams in with the drum once more. Again sparks fly as the two spinning weapons meet, but this time theres enough speed in the hammers to send both robots flying.
Leprosy Infection attempts to drive while still spinning around but ends off forcing himself into the wall, a poor display of driving from Chris for the first time. Psyclonized on the other hand has finally stopped doing its crazy flailing spinning dance, and falls to the floor. Seeing hes got a good distance from Leprosy Infection, he pauses before spinning up, allowing himself time to hide cleverly, yet cowardishly behind the refbot. Leprosy Infection sees this and comes up with a clever idea of his own. He flies across the arena straight into the refbot, liftig him up with his spinning drum, straight into the hammers of Psyclonized. The hammers smash into the Refbot and immediately burst the CO2 cannister for the fire extinguisher, sending gas billowing into the arena where the sharpened hammers have punctures the cannister. Leprosy manages to dodge the falling carcass and swivels around the side through the gas, to find Psyclonized waiting with the hammers narely up to speed. Leprosy drives in and theres a horrendous cacophony as the 2 spinning weapons meet once more. The 2 robots spin away again, and it sends Psyclonized straight into the dead Refbot who has finally stopped giving off gas. The impact with the bulk of the referee stops the hammers dead, and this allows Leprosy Infection to come in on the attack again, managing to work out a direction sooner than previously, and slamming AJs machine into the wall once more.
AJ realises he may be a little less lucky this time, and tries to escape again, only for Leprosy Infection to give him a wider berth this time and give him more room to get out. This turns out to be just to be able to get the drum up to a greater speed however and this time the drum lifts up Psyclonized and prods him up against the wall. AJ spins the weapon against the ground and this causes him to fall down... straight onto the top of Leprosy Infection. Chris doesnt know what to do as AJs machine is beached on top of him flailing around with the weapon hoping that hell unbalance himself and fall off the top. Chris reverses straight into the pit release button. But the impact just drops AJs machine and he finds himself charging away as fast as he can to get away from the pit, whilst the weapons are at full tilt for the first time in the fight. Leprosy comes in headlong and slams into him with the drum once more. Another huge crash and another spinning exit for both robots. This time though when Leprosy Infection recovers, he realises that the drum has stopped and so close to the end of the fight. AJs machine requires less energy this time to get up to speed and when Leprosy Infection comes in again, theres another crash, this time the hammers managing to smash into the side of the machinecompletely pushing one of the side bars inwards and bending the armour behind it.
This single impact seems to have done a lot to Leprosy Infection, who immediately seems more sluggish as it appears that the impact has impacted on its ability to move on one side. The damage is not catastrophic though as he still seems to be able to move, albeit with a slight lean to one side. AJ starts to believe that this fight might just be his for the taking and slams in again, but Leprosy manages to turn in time again just quickly enough to get the already broken disc into play as a sacrificial spinner killer. Nobody seems more surprised than Chris that hes taken on one of the most dangerous robots of all time and is still standing, especially so close to the end. Psyclonized comes in again for another slam, but once more the drum stands up to the beating, seemingly no more damage possible. As the fight nears the end, the dead refbot performs the one duty its still capable of and counts down to the end of the fight.

What a close fight, and how close to a mammoth upset. But damage has most definitely swayed it and Psyclonized goes through to the heat final.
Back to Rock 2 isnt that different to Back to Rock 3, the biggest difference is the 1 mm of titanium and the srimech. In this fight I will try to lift and pit Killotine, simple as that ;)
Then I shall try to grapple and pit Back to Rock, simple as that.
Great stuff thus far, Matty!
I have to say its great to see this tournament back on the road, more than any other writer you can turn a battle into an epic story, and Leprosy vs Psyclo was a tense one at that :proud:

Straight from the off it becomes avident, that unlike the high-paced frenetic attitude we had in the first of our round 2 fights, this one is likely to be a far more sedate affair with both Back To Rock 2 and Killotine Evo sliding out of their respextive corners delictaely. Neither robot seems to want to commit to making the first attack and this shows, as the 2 gently circle around the arena, either hoping one will make a mistake, or be the first to bravely take on the other. As it is, its Killotine who makes the break first using a sudden burst of speed to plow straight into the side of Back To Rock 2 and slam the axe down onto the lurid 6mm titanium lid. A dent appears but nothing more as the axe bounces back up and into its original position. This attack seems to make Martijn realise that he cant be entirely cautious in his approach and he attempts to turn to bring the wedges to face one another. Killotine is again the quicker however and seeing a potential overturning slams the axe down again, this time onto the front hydraulic lifter of Back to Rock 2 and this time getting the axe stuck in. Although the damage is minor, its enough to give Killotine a grip, and he starts trying to push Back To Rock 2 around. He doesnt however have enough purchase, and so the 2 machines just end up in a tug of war that ends up looking more like a game of ring a roses.
Killotine lifts the axe out but Martijn is prepared for such an occurence and immediately charges at the front, inspiring Steve to slam the axe down again, only this time Back To Rock 2 is too quick and as the power of the axe lifts Steves machine into the air slightly, he gets underneath only to be hit on the top with the shaft of the axe which itself manages to make a small dent into Back To Rock 2s lid as well, showing just how much power there is in that Killotine axe. Martijn raises the arm and although progress is slow due to the hydraulic mechanism, it does the intended job, gently overturning Killotine who rolls off its rounded back and onto its top panel. His response is far faster than the original attack and in a flash the axe has fired and Killotine Evo is back on its wheels, albeit also back on the lifter of Back To Rock 2.
This time Martijn decides its more worthwhile trying to ram the Team Braveheart machine into the wall, and he slowly accelerates before finally reaching a mammoth top speed and slamming Killotine Evo into the arena sidewall at the opposite side of the arena. he raises the flipper again, obviously tring to hoist Killotine out of the arena, but the slow nature of the mechanism makes this an impossible task, and he just ends up stacking him on his back against the pit release button. The pit descends as Martijn continues to have his machine hold his foe up against the wall, until the Refbot comes in and separates them. Martijn seems to be out of any other wortwhile ideas, as Killotine Evo flops back to Earth from his resting position on his back. He attempts to get underneath the sides of Back To Rock 2 but to no avail, and so instead just slams the axe down on the lid again, another hole appearing. He tries to push forwards, but Back To Rock also drives forwards and the result is to lead Killotine Evo in a curve going straight towards the pit. He releases the axe so he doesnt end up driving himself in, but this isnt of any great help as Back To Rock 2 immediately reverses and backs Killotine Evo into the pit which hed been trying to avoid in the first place.

And were off, immediately AJ tries to get Psyclonizeds hammers up to speed, whereas immediately Back To Rock 2 attempts to replicate the onslaught from Leprosy Infection from the last fight. He flies in lifter plates first at Psyclonized but the hammers are already up to a good speed and they slam into the 6mm titanium front panel, causing it to bend around where the hole left by Killotine is. Back To Rock 2s huge level of torque manages to keep him from flying away too far though, and hes back onto his foe in a split second. This second the hammers are barely whirling and with even more power in the drive than Leprosy Infection had before, Back To Rock 2 finds absolutely no problems shunting Psyclonized around the arena. He lifts up the arm gradually as he does so, so by the time he reachs the sidewall, hes got him pressed against one of the angle grinders. This turns out to be an absolutely genius attack from Back To Rock 2, but he doesnt quite know it yet, but when the Refbot comes to separate the 2, Psyclonized falls to the floor and its immediately evident that one of the angle grinders has shredded straight through one of the rubber tyres. AJ tries to drive off on it, but it immediately unravels, and leaves him with only 3 working wheels on that wagon.
He does however manage to get the weapon up to a reasonable speed. Matirjn doesnt seem to be quite sure which part of his machine to use as a repellant, but quickly gathers that th elonger he takes to think, the quicker the hammers are moving. He immediately launches in rear first and gets a backside full of hardox... The back panel has completely caved in and its the first damage that Psyclonized has cause in the heat that manages to show the real potency of the weapon. Again though torque kicks in, and Back To Rock 2 is just able to reverse into him, slamming him across the arena and into the pit release button before AJ has time to think about trying to drive in the opposite direction. The siren sounds and the pit descends and Martijn knows that its his best chanceof disposing of AJs favoured machine. He backs off in order to turn around and AJ tries to hobble away with his unbalanced 3 wheeled machine, but finds himself just wandering around very limply. He does managae to get the hammers slightly up to speed though, and another impact dents the lifter once more but Back To Rock 2 doesnt even get flung away by the impact.
Matirjn raises the lifter once more, which seems to be moving slightly more sluggishly in itself and props AJ against the wall. He backs off, comes round the side and delicately knocks him back off before he has a chance to fall and run away. AJ knows whats coming next and also knows that it could cause one of the biggest upsets of the series as Maritjn raises the lifter again slightly, turns delicately, before running Psyclonized to the edge of the pit, lowering the lifter, and sending one of the most dangerous machines that FFW has ever seen into the pit of oblivion and out of the competition.

Straight from the off its Forcepower 5.0 who comes out of the starting blocks like a maddened hare, managing to drive across the arena and slam into 8645t before their driver has eve had a chance to blink. Forcepower gets underneath with the wedge and slams the real robot into the wall so hard that he flies over onto his back. The flipper fires and immediately he reacts quicker this time, driving off into the centre of the arena, and spinning around to keep the flipper facing the number 13 seed. Forcepower charges in again for a head on collision and 8645t fire the flipper out of sheer panic. Amazingly enough though the slip makes contact and throws Forcepower onto his back. Forcepower then tries to reverse into the flipper again with the wedge, but ends up flying straight up it. The beasts flipper fires again, but with the weight of Forcepower being so high up, he just ends up putting himself on his back and Forcepower 5.0 flailing in the air.
Forcepower 5.0 spins the motors as the 2 machies are trapped, neither being able to get up off of the floor. Eventually he manages to wobble himself free, but for some reason 8645t is stuck on his back, seemingly unable to self-right, Forcepower 5.0 gives it a few tentative nudges, before deciding that something must have happened to the flipper. It later turns out that the sheer weight of Forcepower on top of the arm for so long damaged the ram, but for now all they know is that their robot is on its back with no way of getting back up. After prodding it a couple more times for good mesaure, AJ, circles to get a perfect run at the pit release button with 8645t still in tow. He slams him into the pit release button, and although his intention is to dispose of him, its not quite recognised in the way that AJ planned, as the slam takes 8645t into the air, over the wall, and out of the competition.

Heat 7 - Round 2 Fight 2 - The Epidemic (29) v Slaying Mantis F

Activate!
Slaying Mantis F seems to know what it has to do to get rid of The Epidemic, but Kodys machine seems to know that too, and immediately starts flying around the arena with no particular direction in order to get its dangerous spinning shell up to speed. Slaying Mantis F realised hes let the shell get slightly too far to risk try to crush anything, so keeps the beak raised and goes in with the wedge, obviously thinking that its his best chance of escaping scathe free. He slams into the full body spinner, and escapes relatively mark free, though a small cut has appeared in the wedge where one of the bottom row of teeth has got stuck in. The Epidemic wastes barely any time in getting back up to speed though, and with a bit of a wobble as Kody tries to work out which direction is forward, slams straight into the side, a large gash appearing in the side panel, meaning Kody scores the first major damage points of the fight.
Alex knows that to have any chance he has to stop the weapon and so begins circling The Epidemic, seemingly bemused and waits for an opportunity. Kody gets bored of the waiting and so flies in again, but Alex notices the onslaught coming and gets the wedge facing, again coming out with little visible damage, though the impact shows as both robots spin away. Kodys spin up time is remarkable and no sooner has he stopped wobbling the shell appears to be back up to a frighteningly dangerous speed. Alex charges in with the wedge again, and again both robots are thrown away, but this time The Epidemic ends up slamming straight into a wall. Whilst Kody flusters again trying to work out which way hes pointing (round robots really ought to have an arrow on them) Alex finally sees the chance to make an impact slipping underneath the slowed shell and bringing the crusher down. the 8mm titanium stands up to the force of the crusher fairly well, with the lid just bending slightly rather than being perforated in any way.
He attempts to back away, however progress is slow as trying to carry a difficult 100kg shape is weighing Slaying Mantis down heavily. He decides reversing is not his best bet and lifts the claw, allowing him to move round slightly and bring the claw down again, to give him an opportunity to drive out forwards. This proves to be just as difficult a task though as the manouvre has allowed to The Epidemic to fall off the wedge slightly and so his teeth are now digging into the arena floor, preventing Alex from driving Slaying Mantis F forward at any great speed. Its not long before the refbot comes in and forces Slayign Mantis F to let go of his foe, and no sooner has he done so, does The Epidemic start whirling off again like a headless chicken, seemingly aiming to disorientate his opponent. This works, as Slayig Mantis F attempts to go flying in, only to discover hes shot too far, and so The Epidemic can come slamming into his back, ripping into the aluminium boron carbide at the back as if it was nothing more than cardboard.
Kody carries on across the arena in order to pick up more speed again, and as he gets up to his maximum potency, it shows just how powerful the machine is as the dust on the arena floor around him goes whirling around the floor like a ground level tornado. Slaying Mantis F decides to charge in with the wedge again, and finally the damage to it shows as a huge chunk of it, going into the side is ripped off by the full body spinner. Kody licks his lips with glee as the innards start to become exposed, and with another slam, completely shreds through the already sparse side armourment. Slaying Mantis F deserves his credit as he carries on, getting the wedge pointing forwards again, and the next attack leaves barely any scar, though does sens him staright into the angle grinder, causing sparks to shower across the arena. Unfortunately for him though its left exposed, the already brutalised side armourment and with another crash from the shell, Kody tears the rest of the panel off, taking a motor and a wheel with it.
Kodys decided that this is one fight hes not going to hold back in though, and with Slaying Mantis F still able to wander around in circles, he decides that hell keep going until theres no life left in Alexs machine. All it takes for this to occurs is one more slam though, as with one impact on the already battered rear panel is torn into again, and with it comes the little red removeable link, the scourge of so many roboteers facing spinners. Alexs machine is counted out in what seems like the first countdown for a long time, whilst The Epidemic gently slows down the motors and conserves himself for the heat final. Forcepower 5.0 (13) v The Epidemic (29)

Forcepower will own this one. :proud:
w00t again! Bloody awesome fight, Matty, and great work ethic here. :proud:
Forcepower 5.0 (13) vs. The Epidemic (29)
The chances of me surviving this fight are VERY slim. :proud: He has 6mm Hardox monocoque armour, shiteloads of power and a very controlled drive. For this fight, I am going to try and dash away from ForcePowers advances with the Magmotor power, and immediately smack the flat sides repeatedly, hoping to take an entire side panel off after much bashing, seeing as it cant be shredded, and then eat into the internals. Hopefully it should happen as my spinning ring has tons of power from its Etek weapon motor, but I wont underestimate ForcePowers endurance. If its an actual true monocoque, which thanks to Joey it should be, then my tactics of going for the sides wont work, and Ill have to take a very risky approach; smack into the side of his wedge to try and take it off, and then if the front gets exposed, keep slamming that. After Ive lost, which seems bloody obvious due to the match-up :proud:, congratulate AJ on a job well done and buy him a can of Magners. :)
No cherry throat sweets, though Ill take a lime one if you have it. :P

Ram, ram, ram some more. Keep the speed of the shell as low as possible, keep presuring it, try and get it in the pit.

Forcepower immediately from the start hopes that this is a repeat of his team mates matches against Leprosy Infection and Back To Rock 2, and so charges right out of the blocks from the off towards the number 29 seed. The Epidemic knows exactly what to expect though and so immediately skids to one side, nearly resulting in Forcepower 5.0 driving into the wall through his own haste. This slip-up allows the Epidemic all the time he needs to get up to speed, but AJ turns around and tries to come flying in with the wedge. Again Kody manages to shift slightly to one side and he impacts straight into the side skirt of Forcepower 5.0, ripping it off its rotary joint completely. Ajs not having this and so turns around to get his revenge, but once again Kody dodges the charge with expert driving skills. AJ is just having no luck at getting the speed of the shell down, yet knows that he cant just sit back and wait for The Epidemic to come to him, as even this early in the fight, the torn off side panel is a big advantage for Kodys machine should it go to a judges decison.
Evidently hoping that at some point hell either get the shell to stop, or that Kody will bounce off him, he decides to run across the arena and open the pit. The siren wails like a banshee as the familiar noise reverberates around the audience and the pit descends to its sunken position. No sooner has he done it than does his plan almsot come into action as Kody careers across the arena whilst the back of Forcepower 5.0 is exposed, crashing into it, and managing to leave scratches on the very thick 6mm hardox frame. The impact however sends him skidding off, right past the edge of the pit. The audience groan as The Epidemic has a very near miss, but he has an even nastier shock waiting for him as he spins right into the CPZ of Matilda. He slams into the wall, stopping the shell completely and is immediately met by a huge lump of flywheel which throws him up into the air and nearly out of the arena. He lands back on his wheels again outside of the CPZ and after attaining which way is forward slams into forward gear and lives to fight on with no more than a tooth missing and a slightly scratched shell.
Forcepower 5.0 sees all of this coming however and no sooner has he managed to get away, Forcepower 5.0 manages to get under the barely spinning shell and is shunting him right across the arena, and into the opposite CPZ, containing Mr. Psycho. Kody hammers frantically at the controls and manages to escape just as the hammer falls, making a dent in the arena floor. Another dodgy aim from the biggest of the house robots. But again, theres no let off for The Epidemic whos beginning to see this fight slip away from him as Forcepower 5.0 charges after him as he escapes, thrusting him straight into the wall, attempting to throw him out the way he did to 8645t. But theres only pain waiting for Forcepower as the invertible wedge follows straight through underneath The Epidemic and gets him stuck underneat the angle grinder. Kody thanks his lucky stars and immediately backs off to spin up the shell. A couple of seconds later and he comes flying in, sending both robots spinning and with it, the remaining skirt on Forcepower. Ajs machine has been left naked!
The impact has knocked Forcepower 5.0 out from under the angle grinder but The Epidemics shell has been allowed to get back up to full speed. A cat and mouse match follows as Forcepower 5.0 tries to catch The Epidemic who seems clearly more worried about whatll happen if it goes to a judges decison, knowing hes on top based on damage. Forcepower 5.0 catches him eventually though, and slams the wedge underneath him, sending him spinning away and sending the Epidemic dancing as the centre of gravity wobbles all over the place. Forcepower 5.0 regains his composure and turns back around for another onslaught but The Epidemic has balanced himself and is nearly back up to full speed. AJs machine flies towards him, but Kody manages to manouvre his way over to one side and slams the already skirtless side panel. Both robots spin away once more, but this time its once too many times for Forcepower 5.0 who gets strung up by his own patarde, and goes spinning straight into the pit he opened in the first place.

And straight away were off, with interchangeable-weaponed rambot up against insanely powerful flipperbot. Straight away the 2 machines come out of their blocks at a great pace, NSBFR-X especially who seems to be the quicker of the 2 machines in the arena today. Gravity immediately starts dancing around, evidently trying to catch an opportunity to get underneath the practically impenetrable skirts, whilst Frank just allows his machine to keep spinning to keep the front facing. Neither machine seems in any great hurry to make an attack and both spin around tentatively. This is currently more like a secondary school amateur dance piece as opposed to a fight. NSBFR-X then overturns slightly in his attempt to keep the wedge facing, allowing Gravity to fly in towards the sign. Frank turns his machine around just in time to get Gravity on the wedge, but he flies almost straight off it, albeit not without a quick lick across his base plate with the bar which Frank is using today. Gravity runs away and with WJ at the controls seems baffled as to how to get underneath his opponent.
Frank seems relaxed in his control pod, seemingly just looking around for an opportunity, and its not long before one presents itself. Gravity spins around, and as is his tendency to do so, does a little wheely, which is all the invitation Frank needs to slip under the side and slam him onto his side against the fence. The bar then immediately makes itself useful as it goes straight into one of the pneumatic tyres, puncturing it in no time at all. Frank backs off allowing Gravity to get himself off the wall with his flipper, and he immediately drives off, the puncture not having too much effect so far seemingly. NSBFR-X is following him though, and as WJ moves his machine away slide straight under the raised rear of Gravity, sending him flying into the fence again once more with a hugely impressive burst of speed and acceleration from NSBFR-X. This time Gravity just bounces into the wall and back over NSBFR-X but its very evident whos on top of this fight right now.
Gravity moves away again but this time the effect of the puncture is beginning to show as he starts hopping around like a man with one leg shorter than the other. Give that robot a coaster! NSBFR-X this itme has no problems in getting underneath him, but this time the bar smashes into the polycarbonate instead, a large gash into the bulletproof plastic armour adding yet more discomfort to Gravitys present fall. NSBFR-X backs off, to get the bar up to speed, and charge in again, WJ turns his wedge to face but the spin ends up lifting him into wheelie position again and Frank delivers another blow to the base. He stays underneath him this time and slams him into the pit release button, causing Gravity to get stuck on his back against the wall. WJ fires the flipper and ends up doing a weird backwards Mute-esque jump straight over NSBFR-X, sending him onto the pit. The pit starts descending and Gravity manages to use all the ramining traction from his one good, and one punctured wheel to escape. He hobbles off limply again but NSBFR-X soon turns him around by getting under the side, and this time theres no escaping destiny for the Dutch real machine, as he falls into the pit, with just enough time to say goodbye as it finishes descending
CEASE
Gravity wishes hed never seen THAT. NSBFR-X falls into place in the heat final.
Heat 8 - Round 2 Battle 2 - Archangel of the Abyss (31) v Megalodon Maneater

Activate!
And were off! With both of machines far more cumbersome than the 2 from our previous battle theres no wonder that we see a far slower start this time around, and its Archangel of the Abyss, nippy for a walker at 12mph, who immediately starts bobbling around the arena on its parsley cutter like legs, whilst Megalodon Maneater tries to catch it. The wedge gets to the lower ring before Alexs Machine has got up to speed too quickly, but he still finds himself being spun away with the 4mm Hardox taking a small swipe. Alex tries to turn away but with manouvreability being the main issue for this particular walker, its not long before Megalodon Maneater is hot on his tails again, again sliding underneath with the wedge, and again being knocked away with a couple of scratches to the wedge. Rich curses his luck as he cant get close enough to get a good grip, whilst Alex curses his luck that his top ring isnt low enough to take a good swipe at oncoming wedges.
Rich is persistent though and before long, once again hes driving Megalodon Maneater into Archangel of the Abyss again, and yet again hes sent spinning away by the half sped up shell. Whilst Archangel has been the better controlled and more damaging machine so far, Megalodon Maneater has been by far th emore aggressive, yet it seems at this point in time like it wont be easy for either machine to mount an overly meaningful attack on the other. Rich briefly spins around to show the back of his machine to Archangel of the Abyss, seemingly trying to provoke Archangel into making a charge but Alex isnt falling for it and so happily scuttles back on his way. This differing tactic has given Archangel of the Abyss the chance to get his bottom shell up to its full 2500 revolutions per minute speed though, and Rich curses his luck, knowing that his attempt to swing the fight in his favour has actually given Alex an opening.
Alex turns his machine to face his foe, and then stops, seemingly baiting Megalodon Maneater into making a move. Rich is just as hesitant though, and seems to be contemplating the best plan of action. He moves in closer, but this just inspires Alex to trun slightly, changing direction minimally, but throwing Rich off course. A similar manouvre, with Megalodon Maneater sheepishly edging closer, provokes exactly the same reaction with Alex just making slight adjustments to his bearings. Finally Rich makes a bolder move to come in, but Alex gets his machine going fowards and the change in angle becomes clear, as he manages to tear into the bottom side corner of the wedge, a small gouge and some bent metal on the edge of the 4mm hardox armour, showing just how much potential is in those rings. Richs robot has spun away, and is just regaining control, when a scuttlign Archangel catchs up with him and slams into him again, this time at the rear. A scratch to the paint and a couple of nuts and bolts follow but nothing more than superficial.
The previous attack has sent Megalodon Maneater spinning into a wall, and losing its bearings. Archangel sees his chance to try and grab total control of the fight and comes in again, slamming the other side panel. Again more paint flakes and a couple of bolts as Archangel of the Abyss manages to damage his foe, but not seriously. The last impact sends both machines spinning into the wall, but this actually aids Rich as his robot is stopped spinning by an angle grinder and he immediately charges at Archangel of the Abyss, pinning him on the wedge and blocking him in with another angle grinder. The crusher comes down for the first time in the fight and immediately crumples through the 25mm polycarbonate on the top, cracking straight through it as if it was nothing more than a sheet of tin foil. Megalodon Maneater then performs some Razer-esque showmanship, lifting the arm up and taking Archangel with it, displaying him to the crowd before pushing it back down again. He jams his back against the wide wall before lifting the arm again, this time releasing his prey, knowing that he was never going to be able to get him to the pit before the anti-pinning rule came into play.
He exploits the rules though by backing him into the sidewall meaning that the only route out is straight back onto the wedge. Archangel however realises that he can exploit that and revs up the shells before driving straight up the wedge, and smashing straight into the ram of the hydraulic crusher. Immediately hydraulic fluid or some such liquid seems to be dripping from somewhere as Archangel of The Abyss falls off the side of the wedge and onto his back through the impact. As he uses the arm to self-right, Megalodon Maneater manages to catch him again on the wedge but when he tries to move the crucher down, the hydraulics system just wont respond, seemingly leaving the Maneater as a vegetarian anarexic. Knowing that being a pushbot is now his only shot Megalodon Maneater tries to turn and edge the 150kg machine towards the pit but instead Archangel of the Abyss just revs up the shell again and drives back into the claw, again throwing himself off but this time onto his wheels.
With the crusher bust and a wedge his foes only weapon Archangel of the Abyss decides to go for broke and charges along the side of his sluggish opponent, shearing a gash into the 4mm hardox as the shell gets up to full speed. Megalodon Maneater barely has time to turn before hes coming back the other way and shearing at the same side panel again, this time an entire side panel coming off as Archangel manages to pull the main strengthening bolts away. With time running out Megalodon Maneater knows that hed rather brave a judges decision than need an entire rebuild and so just starts spinning away from Archangel, keepign the wedge facing under all circumstances, and point blank refusing to show him the now exposed mechanics down the left hand side. Archangel manages to get one more attack in, gently denting the wedge, but this is all the time there is in the right, as the Refbot counts down to the end and the fight comes to a climax.
CEASE
Over to the judges

AotA - 6/10 * 5 - 30
MM - 4/10 * 5 - 20
Aggression - Both machines seemed equally aggressive, Megalodon more at the start of the fight, Archangel more towards the end
AotA - 5/10 * 4 - 20

Style - Megalodons showmanry tips it slightly in his favour, though Archangels graceful self-righting swings it back to almost even
Aota - 4/10 * 3 - 12
MM - 6/10 * 3 - 18
Control - Megalodon Maneater was the better controlled for most of the fight, but the panic caused by Archngel towards the end swings it back a little.
AotA - 4/10 * 2 - 8
MM - 6/10 * 2 - 12
Dominance - Megalodon Maneater was never really on top of Archangel whereas Archangel was definitely on top at the end

So there you have it, a much closer decision than people wouldve thought but it goes nonetheless to Archangel of the Abyss!
And so the heat final
Archangel of the Abyss (31) v NSBFR-X
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, semi-skimmed milk?
Completely wrong, oh well. :proud:
Archangel of the Abyss (31) vs. Never Seen Before Franks Red Xylophone
The xylophone to get booted out of the competition and replaced by the actual NSBFR-X, where it will be discombobulated into a series of increasingly smaller parts before being given the countout. :proud:
I think NSBFR-X could actually have it here, with a bit of luck it could stop Archangel from reaching full power and get it to either break down or go down the pit.
If memory serves one of my attatchments is a nice solid scoop, so Ill use that and box-rush the hell out of the angel:proud:

And the last heat final in this half of the draw is under way. Immediately its NSBFR-X using his solid hardox scoop that makes the quicker start who flies across into Archangel of the Abyss who has barely had time to move away and get his flywheel up to speed. Just like the last fight, Archangels top ring is absolutely no use whatsoever against a wedge shape, whilst the bottom ring has no time to get up to speed, meaning that Frank is able to get his machine to box rush the number 31 seeds straight into the wall, the impact managing to get him underneath the Tengu-style foam skirt on the Archangel. Frank tries to turn away to keep Alexs machine on the wedge, but soon realises hes not got room to turn himself and the walker around and so has to back off. Archangel uses the opportunity to rush out of the genereal side area of the arena and manages to get the shell slightly more up to speed before Frank comes at him again, this time contact with the hardox scoop making light sparks, but other than being spun away Frank emerges from the attack unscathed.
Alex uses the opportunity to start twirling aroundand getting the bottom shell up to speed, and this time when Frank tries to box rush him again, he has time to dodge the attack and go straight down the side, very reminiscent of his last fight, however this time the damage is far more evident as he immediately leaves a huge gash down almost the entire length of NSBFR-Xs side panel. Frank seems to immediately have been made a little sheepish by this attack and goes more defensive in his approach, running across the arena, first turning on the arena spinner, before running to the other side of the arena and slamming into the pit release button as well, seemingly believing hazards are his best chance of defeating the number 31 seeds. This has given Alex all the time he needs to get his 2 shells, with a combined mass of over 50kg up to full speed though, and he charges towards NSBFR-X as NSBFR-X charges back directly at him with the scoop facing. The 2 robots collide and after a loud smack, NSBFR-X is sent spinning off with a slight dent to the hardox scoops side.
However the impact seems to have done very little to slow the weapon down and before NSBFR-X has even regained its sense of direction Alex is back on his tail again, this time slamming into the the back corner, sending the vertex of the robot inwards. A gash has appeared but the damage is more indicative of a sledgehammer rather than a spinning ring. And immediately it seems in this single attack on the 5mm titanium, Archangel of the Abyss has wrecked any chances that Frank had of winning the fight as when Archangel backs off for a second, Frank tries to steer and it immediately appears that the slam has thrown off wheel alignment altogether as he can only go in circles. It turns out later that that sigle attack has bent the axle slighty upwards and so only one wheel is touching the floor.
Frank continues to try and drive on with only one wheel on his wagon, but Archangel of the Abyss just bides him time. Alex has an almost sadistic grin appearing on his face, as he edges ever closer to the uni-directional NSBFR-X, seemingly waiting for an opporunity to come in on the kill altogether. Realising that one attack on the back corner was enough to take out a wheel, hes aiming for the other, again trying to negate the skirts as its the angle that he can get to them from when theyre mounted to the rounded sides. One attack is all it takes though as timing his charge (cmon walkers dont charge :P) he makes contact with the rear edge and goes straight through the 5mm titanium once again, pushing part of the back and part of the rounded side in on itself. This time the damage is noticeable as the wheel jolts forward and digs into the metal around the edge of the slot in the top that makes it invertible. 2 good shots are all its taken for Archangel to dispose of Franks machine, however the house robots are yet to have their fun.
Dead Metal comes out and immediately starts digging the saw in, whilst Shunt hammers away with little effect on top of the wheels. Eventually they have enough of disembowlling the carcass and so instead decide to nudge him onto the arena flipper. The flipper fires and NSBFR-X goes sawing through the air. Dead Metal catches up with him and decides that eough is enough, that NSBFR-X is well and truly dead, and due for his burial, so as he closes him in the jaws, he gives him a nudge forwards and pushes once, twice, and into the pit of oblivion and out of the competition.
CEASE
NSBFR-X makes it obvious why theres ex in his name. Archangel of the Abyss rises into the series semi-finals.

Translator v Shadow Zone
Y4 v Nitro-gene
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, Kleenex?
Wow - you know a competitions been running along time when youve made it from Nitro-Gene to Nitro-Gene 5.0
Jsut simply get to the sides of Y4, push to the side and flip - nothing fancy, I just want to win quickly so I can face Shadow Zone in the heat final.
Good luck Chris, and great fights Matty.
God, I feel old. :lame:
The Translator vs. Shadow Zone
The original Shadow Zone was meant to be one hell of a box-rusher, and thats what its gonna do. :proud: Bulldoze into it and shove all around the arena, but preferably into the pit if I can do that quickly.
Y4 vs. Nitro-Gene
4 redesigns in under a year...dear god, even Im not that bad.
Well we know Pauls seriously improved with the current NG, but the original is...not so good. Y4 to win, I think.
Keep it up Matty :)
The Translator and Nitro-Gene to meet in the heat final here? These are close.
in my earlier (2 years ago or so? lol) predictions I said Shadow Zone might edge this heat and Im gonna stand by my words :proud:, epic battles Matty

And from the off its Shadow Zone who#s straight out of the blocks charging at the Translator who is immediately spinning around every which way but staright trying to avoid the impending box rush attack. Its not long before AJ has managed to get his machine to flail around enough that he#s up to a very reasonable speed however and he soon slams into the side of Shadow Zone. Tearing the skirt off in one hit. Kody looks panicked at the power of his foe, before spinning around, seemingly believing that the rear flipper may provide a more solid and sturdy opponent to the irresistible force of the translating... translator. AJ rubs his hands together with glee before realising hes supposed to be using them to drive the machine. He tries to swivel around again and manages to catch the same side again which was now exposed from the skirt being removed and crashes straight into it, a huge gash appearing in the side panel. Kody tries to spin again to get either his front or rear wedge into play but to no avail whatsoever as he he cannot keep tabs on the madly spinning Translator.
AJ knows that all he has to do is to get one decent attack on the internals and his opponents dead. He gets spinning and is almost at full speed when Shadow Zone charges at him staright first. Theres an almighty crash as the front wedge of Shadow Zone meets the teeth of The Translator and both robots fly away, Shadow Zone going airbound and landing on his feet in the middle of the arena, whilst The Translator... has just stopped... AJs machine has hit the wall and instantly stopped. Theres a brief flicker of life from one side, but soon it becomes stationary once more. Although it will later transpire that the force of the collision of the wall was enough to snap one of the drive chains, for now AJ has to settle for his extremely powerful machine being knocked out in round 2 when really it deserved much better... but thats robot wars and mechanical breakdowns for you...

Straight from the off its a battle of 2 flippers, and it immedately becomes clear that both machines are just waiting for the right moment to use their precious flips as neither seems to want to make an early charge and expend any of the robotic golddust known as carbon dioxide gas. Itll be interesting to see which of these 2 unusually shaped box flippers will come out on top, though its Nitro-Gene who eventually comes out and makes the first meaningful attack as he slims under the 8mm ground clearance of Y4 and sends him actually flying through the air, nearly getting him out of the arena from nowhere near it whatsoever. Y4 does his best mute impression and self-rights on the 3rd attempt but Nitro-Gene is right back on his case though and manages to get himself right back on the tail of Y4. Y4 performs a quick about turn though and somehow manages to spin to the side of Nitro-Gene from where he gives him a nudge and attempts to turn him over and onto his back. This plan fails though and the fight continues as normal.
Nitro-Gene doesnt seem happy that Y4 has managed to exploit any kind of weakness in him and immediately starts going to try and rectify this, skidding around the arena with his vulcalon coated wheels, revving up the etek motors which are providing him with huge speed and acceleration around the ring. He makes another charge only for Y4 to dodge and send Nitro-Gene skidding straight into the wall. Y4 immediately uses the opportunity to try and get underneath the pointed rear end of Nitro-Gene and he fires the flipper, getting Nitro-Gene to stand up against the wall. He slides underneath again to try and throw him out of the arena properly this time, but gravity brings Nitro-Gene back down and he ends up falling over the side of Y4s flipper and back onto his wheels, albeit the wrong way up. He self-rights to get himself back on all 4 wheels and runs off again, Paul looking increasingly frustrated with how the fight is panning out.
Y4 chases Nitro-Gene, Chris clearly feeling hes got some momentum going and so looking to carry it on whilst he can. He charges across the arena, attempting to get under the back of Nitro-Gene once more but Paul spins his machine round and the last possible moment and Y4 ends up getting straight onto the wedge of his foe and promptly being rammed into the fence. Paul tries to flick the flipper to get him out at speed but it just results in Y$ going over sideways much like Nitro-Gene did earlier and onto his back. This time Chris manages to self-right his machine at the first attempt, but unlike previously where he managed to run off, he just gets himself in trouble by landing straight back on the wedge of Nitro-Gene, with Paul hammering away at the controls, seemingly thanking his lucky stars for the fact that another good opportunity didnt get away from his quite as far as it did last time.
Looking around the arena he decides to play it safe and rather than trying to open the pit or flick his foe out of the arena he decides to charge into one o fthe CPZs. He makes a beeline for the opposite corner of the arena where Matilda is waiting and slams him into the corner of her wall, flicking him onto his side. Matilda then flies in with her rear end and gives him a hard smack with the flywheel which sends him flying back out again, leaving Nitro-Gene trapped in the corner. Paul panics as he tries to manouvre out of the CPZ only to end up underneath Matilda and with a gracefully effortless flick of the flipper sends her straight over. He comes out of the CPZ to be greeted by a non-moving opponent. He flicks Y4 over and he immediately self-rights, but as soon as he does so, theres no drive. This later transpires to be a battery connection, however its unclear whether it was the slam into the wall or the attack from MAtilda that did it.

Shadow Zone v Nitro-Gene
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, nasal strips?
lmfao @ both results  Very entertaining, though, good fights Matty. :)
Shadow Zone vs. Nitro-Gene
Right. If Matilda is in the arena or the house robots, shove him into her so her flywheel can do damage. Otherwise stay in the middle of the arena until Nitro-Genes near, then ram it into the walls, pit, or anything else nasty, then return to the centre of the arena. Dont wanna get flipped out of the arena, and Ill conserve my own flipper for self-righting, if I have to. Be as aggressive and annoying as I can.
And YES, dear god, I would LOVE a nasal strip. My poor nose is running like hell (and I need to catch it, hardy har :P)
Good luck Paul.
Well, just ram into him, get under, and THIS time go straight for an OOTA. I have the greater power, so I can outpush him in a head-on clash, and I have the more powerful weapon so an OOTA shouldnt be too tricky.
Good luck Kody
