Or rather a large number of antweights.
If team titanium is going you could always fight them (though Id rather not go against the three of them!)
do you mean team Too Much Titanium? :proud:
I hope you all like dogs because our old biddy is coming along. Dont worry, its the sweetest German Shepherd in the world, but also one of the largest.
See profile.
The cats arent coming by the way, they will have to guard the house in our absence.
Yeah!!...Good old Critter, that is one big, soft fur-ball...Possibly the most placid shepherd I have ever met..Loves kids..just cant eat a whole one!!:)
Just wondering if any one is going from Hull to Rotterdam? Were going tues night / Wens morning.
Julian,
It now appears very likely that I will be taking Steel Sandwich. This should be confirmed within 24 hours.
Game on!
Nice guys!
Over here the bull pen is finished. It will be attached to the RR arena on wednesday. Half of the Polycarb-windows are finished as well. The rest of them will be build today.
It is all coming together.
The 25 160 kg heavy 12mm 6m² polycarb panels and steel support frames are finished.
And so are a few of the Dutch roboteers.
Bit late, but supply problems did this. oh well, still 3 days left before they are mounted.
hmz, I understand there aint no complete scedule yet... but seeing as Ill only be able to visit these championships one day, instead of all three, can anyone of you tell me which day the heavyweight finals should be? (Sunday the 24th I presume...)
the 24th is the last day and will contain the most spectacular fights, normaly.
On the other side, as a real fan/roboteer, you could join us at the camping, and have a night of fun, beer and talks with friends you didnt meet yet.
All finals will be on sunday between 15:00 and 17:00.
We have a great problem. I am the main carer for my disabled youngest son and because of this I am unable to leave the UK until Friday afternoon (a sensible estimate is to be with you all first thing on Saturday morning). I would have loved to be in Amsterdam on the Thursday but with my wife having to work and there is no-one who could possibly be able to look after the little one, it is just not possible. I hope that this arrangement will be possible and that I can still compete.
We´ll arrange that for you Julian.
Thanks. Lets hope that I can make an entertaining battle with John (who is always up for such an event)
Just to confirm that Team Scorpion have now taken delivery of Steel Sandwich and will be bringing it to the event for John F.
Just let you know alpha and Blazer wont be attending, Merlin and G3 still are. Not had time to even look at Blazer and Alpha has got a few problems to be sorted. Were leaving tomorrow night, just getting Merlin ready now and making a few interchangable panels.
I have just recieved an e-mail from Niels and attached is a list of frequencies that can be used, more to the point there are several that cannot, with no explanation as to why.
If these (illegal?) freqs cannot be used I am down to the bare bones and no spare crystals. It may be helpful if we all listed our sets of crystals so that we can help each other out, as I doubt I am the only one struggling.
I am posting this as it is the first time I have seen this list, and it ought to be drawn to the attention of other roboteers, as they may arrive Thursday completely unaware.
Hi Trevor, there are not as many legal frequencies over here as in the UK. Unless youve got an uncommon transmitter there should be no problem borrowing a legal set of cristal for it.
r i should not know so i have deleted
Is what off? Are you talking about the event or Niels email which lists the smaller range of freqs that are available for us to use? As far as the event goes I have not heard from my reliable source that its off.
hmm its says on the dutch robot games .nl site that a sponsor has pulled out but they are working on something to make it happen but you may not know untill tom evening when most of us have left to go
this was through a dutch roboteer
We do have a problem right now with the venue. The backer of the organiser Party Extreme has pulled out of payment at the very last minute. So the entire event with the EC, custom car builders, LAN party, DJ contest, cant get in the RAI. We are now looking for another location to hold the event.
We will keep you all posted.
This news also came to us just an hour ago. And i do know it is like Deja Vu.
ok thanx for a quick reply
No problem. I know i hate this situation as much as everyone, and the last thing we want to do is to deprive you of all the facts.
a few teams and I would like to know is the camp site book up and or will we have to pay etc ???
We arranged the campsite ourselves, so i dont think there is much difference in that. The only thing is if we do relocate, it might be a long way away from the venue, so we might want to relocate that too. But that is speculation from my part, i have to check this with marien who is quite busy right now as you can imagine. Ill get back to you on that.
We really dont have news right now. But well alert as soon as we can.
is the entire Party Extreme stuff canceled in the RAI, or only certain events?
Id like to know, as I already ordered tickets...
btw, can anyone please gimme the e-mail adress of party Extreme?
The only e-mail i know is info@partyextreme.nl. I doubt there will be much response within the first 24 hours since they are probably working on a solution too. As for now, the lan=life and karting and dj contest and so forth are cancelled as far as i know. They may work on a relocation too, but that is not certain.
thanks
I just noticed that on http://www.rai.nlwww.rai.nl, theres no trace left of the whole Game-Extreme, while they were fully advertising it some days ago...
guess the RAI-stuff is completely cancelled
well lotsa succes in finding a solution
Right, what we have right now (provisory):
- Apparently the venue RAI had not been paid by the sponsor,
- we are looking for a solution, either the sponsor can be goaded to pay anyway or we find a new venue,
- this can only be done during office hours, so we have to wait until tomorrow morning.
Either way, as far as we see it cancelling is not an option. Theres a lot of people working on this. We will try to keep everyone informed at the soonest.
I just received this e-mail:
To all Roboteers,
While all preparations for Euro2005 where going well, the main sponsor let us know, this afternoon, not to be willing to pay for rent of the venue and other necessities. Therefore the tournament cannot be held as we wished.
Because Roaming Robots will bring their arena over anyway we are now trying to move the event to Rucphen. There we can still put up a class1 arena. The hall is available but we need permission from police and fire department. The address is: Sprundelseweg 1, 4715 RB, Rucphen (between Breda and Roosendaal).
Tomorrow (Tuesday) we will look for a campsite.
Because we now have no financial support DRG can not arrange free camping, food or CO2. Everyone that registered is welcome to participate in Rucphen. The entrance fee will be completely used to cover the costs for this alternative.
I hope you understand the terrible situation we found ourselves in and still want to be here to make it a good tournament.
We will keep you up to date of all developments.

The FRA has been in communicatino with both the DRG (event organisers) and Roaming Robots (arena provider) regarding the situation around the DRGs European Championships.
We will have a statement at 15:00 BST about what teams can expect should they choose to go out to Holland this weekend as we understand that the first of the UK teams are heading out in the next 24 hours.

Im not even sure if theyll send me the tickets now... hope it wont be too hard to get my money back
Youre still welcome to visit the EC mMrtijn.
Official FRA Update
Over the last 2 weeks the FRA has been keeping an eye on the developing situation regarding the DRG European Championship event in Amsterdam after it came to our attention that there appeared to be a serious problem with the apparently ticket independent financial model of the event. This problem manifested itself as repeated failures to pay Roaming Robots for their arena (which they have still not recieved payment for) that resulted in the FRA taking action to warn its members about the situation via email.
Despite things looking more secure over the last few days, as we suspected there were serious problems behind the scenes which we were not made party to, and we are told by the DRG that their sponsor has pulled out and cancelled the entire event at the RAI center.
In light of the cancellation of the event in Amsterdam, the FRA is not in a position to tell teams whether they should, or should not travel to Holland - that is a decision that teams must make themselves. The FRA has agreed to keep UK teams up to date on developments so that the DRG can concentrate on making alternative arrangements, and UK teams can make an informed decision on travelling so they know what to expect.
The facts as of 15:00 BST as detailed to us by the DRG.[*]There is no confirmed alternative event arranged. There is no camping or accommodation arranged or recommended. Attempts are being made to arrange an event in Rucphen, currently with a stated 50/50 chance It will not be known until tomorrow if the alternative venue can be used Entry fees will still be payable (possibly in part rather than full) CO2 filling will be available, but on a Pay-Per-Fill basis (approx £3 a fill) Polycarb screening and a roof will be in place for spinners Public Liability Insurance for teams attending has been transferred to the new venue[/list]We aim to get another update out later tonight, however realise this will be too late for some teams who will be heading over there later today unfortunately there is nothing else we can do at this point in time.

Youre still welcome to visit the EC mMrtijn.
I know, but I ordered tickets through party extreme, are those tickets still usable or are they worthless now?
