everything should hopefully stay far away
Yes, when it explodes under its own sheer crappiness.
Youve a LONG way to go, young one.

i know and it wiil not explode, but your robot will when Twister Evo catches you
hey kody, can you do a render of it for me
quote:
it wiil not explodeIm afraid the stats say otherwise. And besides, you dont even state how the arms work.
quote:
but your robot will when Twister Evo catches youGood for use as a slogan for the vapourbot, but it wont happen in a battle, I can assure you.
quote:
hey kody, can you do a render of it for meI am currently rendering my own projects, so no. Turn to someone else at the moment, please. Or learn Rhino or ProDesktop, if you REALLY want a render.
Please add my robots david i will have the stats for drumblebee up soon
they spin they are powered by a s28-400 magmotor
quote:
they spin they are powered by a s28-400 magmotorOkay. Then it wont explode, but it wont do relatively much either.
gonna post drumblebee now, nice name huh
quote:
gonna post drumblebee now, nice name huhYes, considering you stole it from one of the Series 5 qualifiers. :P
why?
did i? my bad, fine Drumblebee Evo,
from know on i own team EVO!!!!
can you find me a video of series 5 drumblebee
Sigh, must I righteously flame more?quote:
why?Because a 10kg weapon powered by a S28-400 will conjure up about 5-10kJ, and that doesnt really do much to opponents. :Pquote:
did i? my bad, fine Drumblebee Evo,
from know on i own team EVO!!!!That doesnt matter, youre not allowed to use other names that people have for their robots. Do you see me flaunting about with a vapourbot named Axe-C-Dent? No.quote:
can you find me a video of series 5 drumblebee It didnt qualify, so of course there wouldnt be a video of it. However, it was seen at the qualifiers, and many people around would tell you that. :P

how do i make it more powerful, (removed response to flaming message by leo-rcc)
(Message edited by leorcc on July 07, 2008)
fine Bashbee, and why does everybody on this forum hate me, woohoo post #50
(Re-read this message Ben and you might figure that one out. Nobody hates you, but you are not exactly winning any friendship awards with messages like these either.)
(Message edited by leorcc on July 07, 2008)
And yet more flaming...quote:
how do i make it more powerfulYou might want to turn it into a complete spinning ring with teeth, which is heavier, and have a better motor.quote:
GTFO my internets markHe only said that because youre truly a rookie and, suffice to say, arent really being a good fellow to reason with. quote:
fine BashbeeOkay.quote:
why does everybody on this forum hate meThink about it, the answer will come to you.quote:
woohoo post #50Whatever.
ok the biggest motor i can have
Which is...?
Yknow its just occured to me. People cant just say 20 KG more batteries because that would probably mean restructuing the entire robot to make space:lame:
Frank has a valid point, although Ive known robots with higher capacity batteries for a simaler size to what they already have.
Kody and Ben. I really dont want this nonsense on my thread.
Ben: I will say this though, and I hope you dont take this the wrong way: Your robots need to be a little more realistic, and their details more described, otherwise any aspect of their design that is unclear will be ignored. I am more than happy to let you into the rumble, but I feel that your vapourbots need a few design tweaks first :)
Alsi, I noticed on one of them, it says 5MM wheels and 3mm Wide. Im sure you meant CM, as 5mm is like an antweight wheel ;)
Ben, listen up mate, I reckon youve been looking around at this forum and by doing so you should have noticed 2 topics, this: http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/discus/messages/760/12788.html?1213552244http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/disc...tml?1213552244 being the first of them, please make sure you read this one carefully
The second one is this http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/discus/messages/760/10980.html?1214479740http://www.fightingrobots.co.uk/disc...tml?1214479740 , your vapours arent quite perfect and I cant blame you, but posting bad stats in actual tournaments only annoys people and it doesnt really help yourself. Being a beginner as you are, post your stats in the above topic and let people help you with them. ONLY go take your stats to an actual tournament (like this) when you have a set of stats thats approved through the how to improve topic, we keep the tournaments clean that way
sorry CM is right
O, and Ben today you made 4 double posts and even 1 triple posts, I realize the FRAs post editing rules arent that good but all 5 could have been avoided within the FRAs editing rules. This is way over the top.
Hooray! Melee time! :proud:
Ill throw in Wedge Devolution and Whirligig 4.5, with extra batteries and CO2 (In Wedge Devos case).
1. Wedge Devolution
SHAPE- low wedge with sloped rear
COLOUR- sleek and shiny silver
WEIGHT- about 100kg
DIMENSIONS- 90cm X 75cm X 30cm
SPEED- 16mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0
GROUND CLEARANCE- 0mm at the front, 7mm for the rest of the robot. Fitted with Biohazard-style skirts on sides and rear, giving 0mm
ARMOUR- 4mm Hardox
WHEELS- inside robot, 4-wheel drive
POWER- 2 X LEM-130s; 2 x 12v 3amp NiCad packs, giving 36v @ 12amp
WEAPONS- As usual, the main weapon is a rear-hinged flipper. This is very similar to Chaos 2, except the blade at the bottom is bent ala Bigger Brother, allowing the flipper to have greater effect against bots with skirts or low centres of gravity. The flipper itself is powered by 2 X 80mm high pressure pneumatic rams, each running at 250psi. This should allow Wedge Devo to comfortably flip up to 1 tonne.
SRIMECH- The flipper can right the machine easily and the rear wedge should hopefully prevent a Chaos-style self-flip. Also, Wedge Devo is equipped with a grey semi-sphere on either side of robot to prevent it getting stuck on its side
NOTES- flashing red light on top of robot, flies Scotland flag
STRENGTHS- powerful flipper, fast, manoeuvrable, difficult to get underneath, tough armour, good traction
WEAKNESSES- could prove a bit tricky to control, limited CO2 (like all other flippers :P)

2. Whirligig 4.5 (sort of formerly Whirligig 4.0)
SHAPE- flat disc
COLOUR- gold with Mauler-style scary face on top. The face shows the direction of the robot.
WEIGHT- about 100kg (see bottom)
DIMENSIONS- 101.6cm diameter X 12.7cm
SPEED- 15mph
TURNING CIRCLE- 0
GROUND CLEARANCE- 8mm
ARMOUR- 1.905 cm thick Grade 5 titanium
FEET- inside robot, uses 4 DrillZilla-style shuffling plates. These help prevent the bot being flung halfway across the ring on contact with another bot, ala Typhoon
POWER- 2 X S28-400s running on 36v. Uses 120 X NiCad cells at 36v, producing 12amps at 36v overall for drive and weapon power
WEAPONS- The main weapon on Whirligig is the spinning outer ring, fitted with 9 x Pussycat-style claws. The spinner is powered by an LEM-130 running at 36v. It can reach speeds of 1000rpm and produce up to 100kJ...more than enough to kill another bot at full speed.
As well as this, the power in the shuffling feet mean that Whirly can act as a pretty powerful pusher if the shell fails to work
SRIMECH- the robot is invertible and the blades prevent Whirly landing on his side
NOTES- flies Scotland flag, thanks to AJ, my first properly calculated machine
STRENGTHS- fast, manoeuvrable, very deadly weaponry, tough armour, scary face shows its direction, very good traction, cant be flung away on impact as easily as Typhoon
WEAKNESSES- so-so manoeuvrability, feet may prove vulnerable to crushers and axes
THEME SONG - Die, All Right! by the Hives
WEIGHT CHECK:
armour = 33.72kg (inc blades)
chassis, mounts, bracing etc = about 30kg
drive and weapon motors = 12kg overall
NiCads = about 15kg
feet = about 10kg overall
TOTAL WEIGHT = 100.72kg. Fits right into the roller limit, with the 1% error margin rule. Probably.

Wedge Devolution:
2 x 12v 3A packs makes 24v, 3A in series, 12v, 6A in Paralell. How did you arrive at 36v, 12A ?
...
Maaaaaagic!
Shall I amend that for you or will you ?
my weapon motor is now a PMG perm 132, 34.8 HP!!!
Ben, you heard David. Take it somewhere else, like in the How Can I Improve thread. Dont muck up this thread more than it is already.
ok i withdraw
You actually know about motors, Dave, so yeah, if you could tweak that for me, thatd be great. :)
gimme Flick of the Wrist and Sheer Heart Attack, with the extra batteries and all, stats on Kodys forum which I cant find now due to pc problems :P
Hi All
I need 8 more people to enter 2 vapourbots, or Ill have to let the existing 7 enter 2 realies each, which I dont wanna do, so come on guys, lets have some more vapourbots
Err...
Tira IV and Macduff the 3rd, each with 20kg extra of A123 batteries, please. :proud:
Two entries for me - Heyght, and D.V.D: The Sequel, the two I believe Ive under-used in contests like this.
Ok, Kody and Paul both entered, in need of 6 more people
Brutalis 2.0 and Systematic Shocker, same board as Paul and Kody
Can I have:
Robo-Hedgehog 2.0 with hammer attatchment 1 and front attatchment 1 (that includes the spikes), with 10KG extra batteries
