ENVY

envy at portsmouth had quite a few problems with the drive and batteries. envy at its best was its first outing at the 2007 champs but i do believe you were there leo. i hope to have envy running to form at notts and i will take more pics for photo bucket too and put them on there. envy has a date with kan opener and dtk so should be some good battles. :)

I was there at the UK champs indeed, and Envy did perform very well there. Unfortunatly i dont have any video footage from that, just the pictures Babeth made.

when i get home i could mail you a couple of the fights from the champs if you want them.

well it will be a test for envy again but this time i hope envy works good. but then like i have said before i would rather test than throw you out of the arena. the drive needs a good going over and a 20 second fight wont tell me a thing. :)

i have put more pics of when i was building before uk champs on my photo book. swanaldo_2007 i have tried to send the vid leo but i cant seem to do it. only just got to grips with photo book. envy was built in a garage with a welder a 4 1/2 inch angle grinder and pillar drill which i treated myself to for the build. i am very proud of what my 2 hands have built. i know its basic but it works. :)

You wouldnt happen to have the envy vs big nipper fight would you? those were 2 fast robots against eachother, specialy after the restart.

there leo tis done. the fight with Big Nipper of course revealed a major flaw that is now sorted with a power return. good battle with the nipper tho one of my fave robots.

One of my favorites as well. That was a good fight after Big Nipper got Envy back on its wheels.

i look forward to a rematch. i am sure they will oblige :)

yes indeed i will just build it with no measurments or designs. although it will be a replica of big sister envy.

i have never used plans to build any om my robots. just get all the bits and see where you go although i did want envy to be front hinge that was about the only plan. oh i did some stupin drawings on beer mats but thats about it. mabee its right or mabee wrong but thats what i do. :)

Envy went well again at Maidstone but alas got a flat tyre. looking close it was the innertube that was twisted and i think it not being inflated enough made the tyre come off the rim and damage the tube. still notts event next saturday for envys last event of the year.

for envys last event went quite well all in all. the drive had a good test and now dropped down to 3 batteries from 4. got a nice new ram for the new year which is very nice. aiming for the swindon event on the 29th for thors first outing with pneumatic setup. envy will be fighting fit hopefully with 6mm ti all round if weight permits. weighing in at about 94kg all in at the mo should get plenty of ti armour. envy hopes to have a good year in 2008 with all the niggles ironed out in 2007. with new armour, new motors and drive, new ram new batteries its only onwards and upwards. envy wishes all the other robots a merry christmas and happy new year. :)

Envious should be ready for swindon all going well with envy repairs that is.

envy has has a new battery mount, new front scoop, power return, new ram, a litle move around inside and is sat battle ready. looking better than ever now :)

return didnt work but it was just the wiring. now back to winning form. will extend the flipper over the back of the robot made from hardox for extra armour. :)

Put a flat plate on the bottom of the back plate and use it as a normal flipper :)

wont be going over that far just over the flat bit on the top. but a good idea none the less

i emailed greg from battlebots n his reply was this, u can kinda guess what the questions were

No Pit in the arena
No House Robots
Yes, there will be Kill Saws
Yes there will be The Screw
We may add another arena hazard to be determined
I doubt we will have flame special effects
I dont know yet weather we will be able to cover travel expenses or not
