ya think? :-p
Noticed that ellis do the bigger brother of the EV- same package and weight, but higher power. I dont have my bosch catalogue on me at the mo, but it was about 1.6kW @ 24V, and ellis wanted about £70 for it- yes, quite a lot, but maybe worth it when the I need more power effect common among spinner builders kicks in :-)
Conundrum Mk2 is running its EV Warrior motor through a 120-S SPNO Solenoid and Team Delta D-Switch with about 100A continuous and 400A inrush which should be well enough to supply our drum with the power it needs which also would be fine for running two Warriors off of, just need to pick the right batteries for the job. (Can anyone say OTT :proud:)

Mario has started working on the featherweight he wanted to give me. Its name will be Kashei Bessmertnye (go find a Russian dictionary if you want to know what it means, hint: the tale of the firebird, old folk legend).
We already have the driving part ready, now a frame and a weapon. Weve still not decided on the weapon but he plans it to be gruesome.
By the way, the Dutch feathers are developing well: Pizzabox (will participate in the Worldchampionships -I am in that team for the occasion) and Bonx are doing nicely (also to be expected in the Worldchampionships) and White Devil is almost completely ready and already riding.
Marien, the president of the DRG, had his family build a feather as a learning experience for the wife and kids, not as a competing robot. Grand Slam looks great and drives well. No weapon yet.
DragonStrike new pic on profile just tested the weapon on 12v its fast and packs a punch now to try it on 24v. Its getting locked in the hut for this with me out side.
That thing looks really cool I like the crinkle cut look.
New featherweight from Major Tom Team now taking shape-See Profile.
Will start to fit 2.5 kg drum to front this week. Hope to be finished by end Sept and start going to some live events.
Anyone know if the name Zero is taken?
My uniqueness as a uk drum weapon is gone forever *sniff* *sniff* lol.

Wow, thats a big change... what things are different (e.g what armour have you now got?)
Amour, 6mm Polly Pro and 8mm ali back. The chassis is made from 4mm Ali. Everything inside is the same, apart from some 10mm pipe. The flipper is alot more quicker aswel.
I dont think you will have to worry too much Chris. Theres no ev warriors or solenoids on this drum( remember Major Tom = garden shed produced lol).
Only decided to make a drum weapon as i found i perfect peice of 100mm s/s pipe to use! May or may not work. will find out soon enough.
LOL! Glen what do you think Conundrum Mk1 is, its also garden shed produced bot and so is the :new: Mk2. :proud:
Oh btw see profile pic for abit of fun ive had with Zeros chassis, if only i knew how to weld when building Conundrum Mk1 lol just playing. Hope its more of a success then Conundrum was , what motor you using for the drum?
Chris - http://www.featherweights.org/forum
New chassis looking very nice Chris!

Humm.. now is Dave being funny or is he really that clueless? :proud:
Chris - http://www.featherweights.org/forum
Im saying nothing.
Mr Stu
Now thats funny Chris!
Certainly woke me up this morning!
Am planning to use a 9.6v drill motor at 12v geared down to run at approx 4000rpm. Ill see how that goes before i start buying better motors.
btw - the gap at the back is for a static wedge.

Ewan, Ive tried big (300mm) vertical disks with 12v gold motors on BlacknBlue. Sadly they just arent up to the job, even overvolting a bit they take an age to rev up to any sort of speed. Use a cobalt motor like astroflight.
Also a timing belt probably isnt the best to use, as it will probably strip. Use either a V belt or a round belt. If your worried about it slipping when spinning up then maybe look at chain.
