BACK TO ROCK III Vs Q.E. 2

House Robots - Mr Hyde & Scarlek

Roboteers, stand by...
3...2...1...
ACTIVATE!

Both robots collide in the middle of the arena! A few moments wrigging shows Back to Rock III to be the lower, as it scrapes under one of Q.E. 2s side-skirt! Joey tries to get away, but Martijn drives right underneath his rival and begins nibbling the titanium underbelly with its saw blade! Raising its lifter just a little, Back to Rock storms up the arena and smacks Q.E. 2 into the top corner, causing it to roll upside-down onto the Flame Grill! Almost immediately, Joey fires the axe and self-rights his machine as Martijn comes in for another attack! The two robots waltz around each other briefly before Back to Rock breaks up the dance to charge away into the Void Activation Button! Unfortunately, Q.E. 2 is right on its heel and scrapes its own spatula underneath Back to Rocks rear before it can back away! The flipper fires and, with a little nudge from Joey, Martijns machine tumbles onto its back! Q.E. 2 wastes no time in getting its axe stuck into Back to Rocks underbelly, denting the 5mm titanium a good few times before shunting it out into the open arena! Here, Martijn sees his chance! The electric lifter switches to high gear and gently pushes Back to Rock back onto its wheels in a second! Q.E. 2 tries to get its flipper back underneath, but Martijn proves too quick this time and begins another dance of death with its opponent! A stroke of luck and good driving sees Back to Rock clip Q.E. 2s side, damaging one of those fetching skirts! Irritated more than anything, Joey swings Q.E. 2 into Back to Rocks side and brings down the powerful steel axe! It looks like it has a good grip, but Martijn isnt that bothered! After a brief scuffle for supremecy, Back to Rocks greater traction wins the day by pushing back against Q.E. 2 and wriggling out of the axes grip! Joey quickly strikes his opponents lid again, but only gets a glancing blow! Martijn, deciding to rack up a few Damage points, manouevers his machine under Q.E. 2s side and heads down the arena to the nearest CPZ - Scarleks! Back to Rock slams its rival right into the corner and quickly back away, while the House Robot pins it down and lowers its blowtorch arm! Joey is twiddling every joystick and pressing every button to get Q.E. 2 free, until finally, a flipper fire causes it to jump off of Scarleks scoop! Joey puts his metaphorical pedal to the metal and races out of the CPZ, leaving our rogue Dalek far behind! Meeting Back to Rock near the arena centre, the duo begin scuffling again, each trying to manouever under the other! Q.E. 2 quickly end the stalemate by clipping Back to Rocks side and bringing the axe down on its head once more! Joey tries to wriggle his flipper under the side-skirt, but Martijn isnt going over that easily! The two robots break into a second tug-of-war, of which Back to Rock is the victor once more! Losing his grip on his opponent, Joey swerves Q.E. 2 into one of Back to Rocks rear corners and brings the great axe down again! Martijn begins to push back, but Joey has an idea! Positioning itself, releasing the axe and jerking forwards at the same time, Q.E. 2 butts Back to Rocks rounded rear and scrapes underneath the 5mm ground clearance! Before either driver can even blink, Joey has fired the flipper and sent his rival flopping onto its back! Martijn checks his lifter is in high gear and watches as Back to Rock smoothly rerights itself...right onto the waiting Q.E. 2s flipper! Horrified, Martijn tries to escape, but Joeys axe comes crashing down, pinning the Dutch duellist down on its spatula! Trying to be as careful and quick as possible, Joey guides Q.E. 2 down the arena - straight towards the Void! Martijn is trying every trick in the book to break free and fight back, even using his lifting arm to try and push Q.E. 2s axe away! Unfortunately, no sooner does the hammer start losing its grip than Joey fires it again and regains it! Its rather like watching an arm-wrestling match on wheels! Eventually, the duo reach the corners edge! Martijn is certain he is about to break free and hes right...as Q.E. 2 fires its flipper and sends Back to Rock tumbling down into the purple and yellow swirls of doom!

CEASE!

Back to Rock III rolls out of the contest! Dont worry, though - Martijn will be back to rock again in the Play-Off! :proud:

Tactics:
QE2 has done very well, and is an excellent machine too, so well done Joey:)
This could be a good fight, but the 10mm ground clearance at the sides could be the key. I also have more HP and a more adequate shape for pushing, so I should be OK. Im going to try and get around the sides to throw QE2 onto tis back, then ram in whether he self-rights or not and go for an OOTA or push him down the void. Geat fights from Steven thus far, Im sure these last 2 will be the best:)

Seriously, great fight from Steve, and all credit to Marti, it was quite close. and WOOT, IM IN THE FINAL!

TACTICS: I shall make use of my superior maneuvrability to avoid Apocalypses flipper, and go around the sides to axe it. A lot. I shall use the flipper if I am able to get in under the skirts, and clamp him to drive him to his doom, but mainly axe, push, and take advantage of the arena hazards and housies. I shall keep my front to him at all times, and if he shows signs of getting around my sides will back off and come in again.
