Heat B Final
Crimson Thunder v E Clawdius Unum
The rammer v The crusher!Lets see how they got this far...
Crimson Thunder came through round one against all odds pitting Iron Awe 5.
Clawdius melee was tougher, but Steven eventually dealt Sheer Heart Attack 2 a fatal blow.
Crimson Thunder pushed PCC around in round 2, gradually getting stronger and getting another bot in the pit.
Clawdius crushed Nitro-Genes wheels on one side and triumphed with ease.
The house robots hungry for carnage in this bout are Cassius Chrome and Sir Killalot!
Crimson Thunder has been predicted to get Clawdius in the pit before Steven can get that crusher into play. Is Joey right or will things take an unexpected twist?
E Clawdius Unum has been more impressive in this heat, although Kody predicted it would exit the heat in its first round melee!
Booth 1:Danny Bailey
Booth 2:Steven McGregor
3,2,1,ACTIVATE!
Crismon Thunder heads straight for the pit release tyre and activates the chasm, but Clawdius comes in behind it and gets under that rear wedge!
Steven brings the crusher down and holds Crimson Thunder firmly in place!Clawdius moves across the arena floor before turning and heading for the pit!
This battle has only just started, but it looks like its going to end soon!
The crowd want it as they chant excitedly
PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT PIT
Clawdius gets onto the edge and relinquishes its grip!
CEASE!
Crimson Thunder slides off the wedge and lands in the pit of oblivion!
E Clawdius Unum is the second grand finalist!
Heat C:Round 1, Battle 1
Cats with Wheels v Seung Mina III v Behemoth
Kody and David have already decided to team up on Danny! MEow!
The house robots in this bout are going to be Matilda and Dead Metal!ARRGHH
Cats with Wheels is a practical wedge with sloped sides design with a front-hinged flipper. Its not original, and a similar competitior Worck fell at the first hurdle earlier on in this tournament.
Seung Mina III is another wedge, but with a rear hinged flipper. Its got more flipper power than Cats with Wheels and you cant drive straight over it due to the spikes on top.
Behemoth is another veteran of Robot Wars. It was a semi-finalist in series 2, and reached the heat finals of the two follwing wars before dropping again and only reaching the second round for 3 years straight.
Booth 1:Danny Bailey
Booth 2:Kody Kunz, David Sheppard
3,2,1,ACTIVATE!
Behemoth and Seung Mina head towards Cats with Wheels together, seemingly very confident. Seung Mina drives into the front to distract Danny while Behemoth gets under the rear, flipping it over!Danny quickly self-rights and revereses back into the action, pushing Behemoth from the side! But Seung Mina takes advantage and slips underneath the front, ramming it across the arena, coming perilously close to Matildas CPZ!
FLIP!
Cats with Wheels soars through the air and hits the plexi-glass with a crash before sliding down onto the camera tracks!
CEASE!
Cats With Wheels falls foul of a deadly alliance, Seung Mina III and Behemoth go through!
Heat C:Round 1, Battle 2
Gravity v Whirligig 4.5 v Storm II
The second melee of the heat is ready to get underway! The corpses have been cleared from the arena, the new two house robots are in position and our three brave (or stupid) competitors are revved up and ready!
The house robots residing over this match will be Mr. Pyscho and Growler.
Gravity reached the semi-finals of Robot Wars 7. On the way there it broke a robot wars record for fastest fight ever by flipping Dantomkia OOTA in just 6 seconds!
Whirligig is a shuffling FBS, like the Zenith we saw in Heat A. But this has no wedges, instead Steven is using Pussycat-style blades.
Storm II was also a robot in Robot Wars 7, but it was more successful than Gravity, reaching the grand final and becoming world champions!
Booth 1:Martijn M Benschop, Steven McGregor
Booth 2:Paul Cuomo
3,2,1,ACTIVATE!
Whirligig spins up while Storm II attacks Gravity, getting in behind Martijns realie entry and slamming it into an angle grinder! Gravity bounces away, but Paul persists and gets underneath again, this time pushing it into Whirligig!
CRASH!
Gravitys tyre is ripped off and the bot seems to defy Gravity, flying across the arena floor and landing on the flame pit!
Storm II nudges the pit release tyre and then tries to attack Gravity, but reverses onto the wedge!
FLIP!
Storm II flies through the air, but lands within the arena.
CRASH!
Whirligig has attacked Gravity again, spinning it closer to the pit!
Storm II recovers and slides under the rear to push Gravity into the pit!
CEASE!
Storm II and Whirligig 4.5 defy Gravity to go through to the next round!
Round 2 line-ups will be:
Seung Mina III v Storm II
Whirligig 4.5 v Behemoth
Tactics/Predictions?
Great!
Seung Mina III v Storm II: I reckon I may have problems here, as I wont get under him for certain, but I can push him if I get side-on to him. That will be my plan. KEEP AWAY FROM THE WALLS if he ISNT on my wedge. Try to push him into the house robots and see what theyll do.
Good luck Kody
Whirligig 4.5 v Behemoth: Whirligig to win. Behemoth to leave the ring in a bin-bag.
Both realies to go, I think. The first one is close though...
Seung Mina III v Storm II
Whew! No Whirligig...for now! :proud: Time to employ Wedge Devolutions tactics from VFT6, methinks. Make sure you follow these tactics, Liam. :)
Basically, get under Storm II. It shouldnt be hard to as Storm IIs wedge doesnt go straight to the ground, nor does the lifting arm. Then flip. DO NOT FLIP BACK. Once Storm II is inverted, ram him around. He will have a hugely difficult time trying to push me on his back, and will probably just end up on Minas sides or flipper again. If he somehow gets back onto his right side up, toss again to re-invert. Main tactic after invertion is fling to the pit!
Lets break her record of going out in the second round, and give Storm an early exit! :)
Good luck Paul.

Behemoth has fairly poor manoueverability from what I remember. Try scuttling around the sides, smack it around a bit and see if I can rip that titanium bucket off. :proud:
Behemoth has excellent manoueverabilty... Time and time again proving itself against very powerful spinners... And winning! Im confident that a full body spinner would easily be flipped!
behemoth is a very formiddable robot. ootas with ease. and spinners beware of that nice big scoop cos it can take loads of hits and not affect it. as for manouverability its nearly as good as envy :)
Whirligig 4.5 produces over 100kJ per hit...
