How could I Improve pt 2
I cant leave you kids alone for one weekend without this thread turning into a shouting match isnt it? :)
Anyway, I would make the robot a little higher so a larger disc would fit. something between 35 and 40cm high at the highest point so you can fit a disc of similar size in front of it (if you go minion style). a 15cm diameter disc is not going to be able to accumulate much energy.

Ah, I see your problem now Chris. I was using the rhetorical device called irony in my earlier post Chris, a rhetorical device I appreciate a lot. Im well aware of the fact that some people either dont recognize irony or dont appreciate it, and I understand youre one of those people. I didnt wanna cause any troubles.
Now thats out of the way, I wanna point out that if the highest point of your MAIN BODY is 20 cm, you will be able to make your disc bigger than 20 cm. Most 2wd invertible vertical discs have their disc reach higher than the main body. Id go for a 20 cm diameter at least since itll enhance the discs output seriously.
On the problem of the teeth, like Joey said, you dont HAVE to take the teeth in to account when using the kinetic energy calculator, they weigh very little compared with the rest of the disc, so saying x teeth of material y in your stats would be fine with me. Whats really important for the energy output is the discs material, the thickness, the diameter and the rpm.

But, once again, Mega Masher simply wont work if it has a blade larger than the 20cm of its current body, because the instance that happens, itll beach itself.
Ive altered Mega Masher a lot since this thread began, but Im not entirely sure people are quite getting the points. Your help is great, but for Mega Masher to work, it has to follow these guidelines...
1: It has to be resilient.
2: It has to be a rammer-spinner combo.
3: It has to be invertible.
As long as those three criteria are met, Ill be happy.

...mount the spinner on a vertically free rotating frame with castors on both sides? I considered that once, ended up doing something else instead, but its an idea.

You got those points settled really, perhaps a stronger drive motor would make it a stronger rammer, but the wedge you have is great to ram stuff whatever motor you have, dont expect Storm 2 style rushes though.
Now take this simplistic drawing of Mega Masher
http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i268/_MadBull_/MegaM.jpghttp://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i2...ull_/MegaM.jpg
the triangle is the main body, the circle is the disc, of course in reality theyre joined in one way or another lol. The disc is higher than the triangle and as far as I can see it works just fine.
EDIT: I wanna add that most notorious vertical spinners arent really famous for being low, and 20 cm makes for a pretty low bot. Making it higher wouldnt hurt. Or go for a drum to compensate the low diameter, but your team already has a drumbot so you may not feel like doing that.

Well, I had attempted to give Mega Masher works parallel to Tornado, and you know how powerful he is. Ignoring the stuff Storm 2 has, how can you get him more powerful?
The problem is that youve done Mega Masher with a sloped back. He doesnt have a sloped back. He has a straight back. And the instance he gets flipped over, hes going to do an X-Terminator, or worse...a Spider. I know you said Most 2wd invertible vertical discs have their disc reach higher than the main body, but Mega Masher is a 4wd drive robot. OK, yes, it has 6 wheels, all driven, but for conventional purposes, and the fact that this is the maximum number of wheels on the ground at one time, its a 4WD robot. So, that point doesnt help.
Maybe if I made the robot 35cm high and gave it a 32cm diameter disc.

more powerful in this case means stronger motors I think
what do you mean with a Spider?

New pic, again the triangle is the main body, the three circles are wheels and the big circle is the disc, again the disc is higher than the main body. The rear is straight but keep in mind that once inverted the rear will be sloped.

Ahh...I see. Im sorry, but for some reason, I kept invisioning itd be identical either way up.
So, if I had a 35cm high robot and a 35cm high disc....would that be OK?
I was referring to The Spider from Extreme 1. I couldnt say a The Spider because that would have sounded wierd.

I know the bot, but what happened to Spider in Extreme 1 that ur referring too?
Anyway, Ive been busy Rhino-ing

A main body linked with a disc, the rear is straight, the main body is 5 cm high, the disc is 7 cm high and doesnt touch the ground

The exact same robot inverted, the rear suddenly is sloped, the disc is still higher than the body and STILL doesnt touch the ground, so a 35 cm high body and a 35 cm high disc would be MORE than ok :proud:

OK then...here are the final stats for Mega Masher for today. I need a little rest break.
MEGA MASHER 2
Weight: 100 kilos
Body Shape: A Triangle shape, a bit like Inshredable (from Series 6). 0.85m in length and width, and 0.35m at its highest point. There are minature ploughs at the rear where the blade is, to guide robots into it.
Speed: 15mph
TC: 0
GC; 0 at front and back, 6mm at sides
Wheels; 6 inner, aranged in a 3-wheel-a-side formation. This means that four wheels are always on the ground at any one time.
Armour: A nice 3.25mm Hardox, all over.
Power: 3x 12v batteries, plus Bosch 750s at 36v.
Colour: Red and yellow.
Weapons; The front is a wedge, and the back has a nasty vertical titanium 35cm in diameter disc, powered by its own LEM130 motor and spinning at 2000 rpm. It can probably flip as well as damage.
Srimech: The robot can run inverted, with the sheer angling at the sides making stranding near impossible.
Inspiration; This is probably the only robot I have where I have had no inspiration. It just came as a good name.
Strengths: Power, weaponary
Weaknessess: New and untested design.
As for the incident, when Spider fought Behemoth, it was flipped over and it ran straight into the arena wall. Its blades then literally pulled it up and over the arena wall, pinning it here and leaving it at Behemoths mercy. I know its less likely for a full spinning disc, but I didnt want to leave it to chance.
