Awesome, almost my heat now as well, for which I have new tactics:proud:
If I remember rightly X-Terminator could only self-right if it landed on its side, so Ill try and flip it so that its on its back. If I cant get rid of him that way then Ill go for the OOTA, and if he gets a dangerous hit with the disc Ill abandon that plan and just get rid of Diablos and push Tsunami into X-Terminator
And I think Infusion will destroy Lightning in the next bout, and the heat E winner will be Tornado or Axe-o-Lotl, could go either way.
May as well post my tactics...
AXE-O-LOTL
My oppodents are, supposingly, Tetanus Booster, Barberous 2n A Bit and Thunderpants. What I DONT know is if Thunderpants is gonig to do a repeat of its heat and never make it into the arena.
If it DOES make it, attack it. It doesnt appear to have anything it can damage me with.
If it doesnt, then my target will be Tetanus Booster. Hit it with the axe constantly. The reason Im going for him and not Barberous is because Im positive Barby will just knock himself out. Otherwise, just go Iron Awe on him.

Laurie Calvert tries his hardest to get Lightning zooming towards Infusion before the deadly ring spinner reaches its ferocious speed, slamming the controls forward with determination. Lightning darts towards its opponent, but it€™s simply not quick enough to stop Infusion - the 28kg spinning mass forcing the dust and debris from the previous fights to be simply pushed aside by the phenomenal quickness of the body. Infusion moves to meet its deadly adversary, the thick Hardox wedge colliding with the sleek wedge of Lightning, However, it is the latter who gets the upper hand, and manages to drive the wedge underneath Infusion, rendering the spinning body useless for the time being. Aaron, tenacious as ever, carries on spinning the body of Infusion and tries desperately to gain some form of traction to manoeuvre itself off Lightning€™s wedge. Lightning carries on driving under Infusion, forcing the Aussie machine further and further up the wedge and nearer the two flippers, which previously ended Thor€™s chances. Laurie Calvert fires one of the flippers on Lightning, sending Infusion over - the teeth on the spinning body slicing into the arena floor, sending wooden shrapnel into the air and littering the arena floor and the competing robots like confetti at a wedding. Infusion - now inverted - gets its spinning body back up to its chassis-shattering top speed and reverses towards Lightning, using its 12mph top speed to get ever so slightly closer to the machine from Essex. Laurie spins Lightning around, just in time for Infusion to ride up the wedge once again. The right flipper on Lightning fires, the CO2 hissing as it flows through the pipes and into the ram - but its too early! Infusion rides further up the wedge, and makes contact with the exposed pneumatic ram. The teeth on the spinning shell rip the pneumatic ram clean out of Lightning, sending sparks and CO2 gas upwards into the air. The impact sends Infusion off the wedge, allowing it to come in on another attack. Lightning - still reeling from that deadly hit - cannot get away inn time, as Aaron sends Infusion in for another bite, this time right into the side of Lightning, slashing the armour as if it was wafer thin. Lightning is send spiralling towards the arena wall, the impact being felt by the audience. Laurie Calvert looks worried, as Lightning appears to be dead - only the small alien on top of Lightning giving it some hope. Infusion, still inverted, carries on spinning in the middle of the arena - it knows it has done enough.
Cease!
Lightning: nothing more than a mere flash in the pan.

The spinning drums of Tetanus Booster and Barberous whirr devilishly, the teeth on each drum a mere blur. Axe-O-Lotl does its best to avoid the spinning drums of its adversaries, dodging Tetanus Boosters drum and slamming the axe right onto the bodywork, denting the armouring and leaving Paul Snook furious! :proud: Chris may be pleased that his first strike made contact, but he seems to have forgotten that this is a melee, allowing Simon Rafferty and his Barberous machine to slam into the side of Axe-O-Lotl! The Hardox armouring of Axe-O-Lotl manages to withstand the thunderous impact, but Axe-O-Lotl itself seems dazed, the axe weaponry firing out randomly and looking unable to go back innto the machine. Paul Snook drives Tetanus Booster away from the battle in the middle of the arena - narrowly avoiding Growlers CPZ in the process - and slams into the pit release button, the whirring siren defeaning the arena as the pit descends towards hell. Barberous backs away from Axe-O-Lotl, which has managed to get the axe back into the main body and away from unnecessary damage, and goes in on another slam, hoping to damage the 3.25mm Hardox armouring of the axed machine. However, Chris Mason manages to steer Axe-O-Lotl away from the drum of Barberous, but drives straight into the drum of Tetanus Booster. Luckily for Chris, and unluckily for Paul Snook, Axe-O-Lotls shape causes Tetanus Booster to drive straight up the front of the axed robot, allowing Chris to fire the axe - creating another pretty dent onn Tetanus Boosters bodywork - and clamp it, stopping it from running away. Barberous sees that Tetanus is in trouble and, in a sudden alliance with the other RW veteran, slams into the Hardox armouring of Axe-O-Lotl again, the teeth on the drum sending both Chris Masons and Paul Snooks machines over and onto their side - Tetanus Booster still in Axe-O-Lotls grasp and unable to roll over onto its wheels. Axe-O-Lotl releases its axe in order to self right, allowing Tetanus Booster to quickly scurry away and get the drum spinning up once again. Before Axe-O-Lotl can self right, Simon Rafferty drives the deadly spinning drum once again into Axe-O-Lotl, the Hardox armouring gaining a few superficial scratches, but nothing more on the surface. Underneath the surface, however, something is obviously wrong... Axe-O-Lotl seems statuesque, the axe which was meant to self right the machine worringly still.

Newsflash!
As you have seen, I have not posted a battle in this for quite a while. The main reason is because others on the forum have made vapourboteering, well, not fun. Every time I have looked in the FanFic section, somewhere amongst the posts there is an argument, or someone moaning, or a huge debate going on about things that are, in my opinion, trivial.
These disgareements, heated arguments and general n00bish behaviour are making what was originally a happy, fun hobby into a place I have actually started to avoid. If you look through the posts in which these arguments have taken place, you will see I have hardly ever posted or been involved in them, and there is a reason for that.
I cannot be bothered! I am not an argumentative person, so I do not wish to be involved in these arguments.
Why, all of a sudden, do all our designs have to be scrutinised to such a degree that everyones designs are picked at until every single kg is accounted for? I do not see the harm in letting machines that may be slightly overweight into competitions. Shouldnt we allow some margin of error in our designs?
But on the other hand, surely we as vapourboteers make a conscious effort to be supporting to each other and help those who may need help? Its understandable that we aim to have the best designs and win lots of fights, but at the end of the day, its only a bit of fun! The world does not revolve around whether Dervish beats Seung Mina, or if Aaron makes it past round one.
As someone who has been involved with vapourboteering for a long time (not as long as others here, but I am still techncially an oldie), I have seen the forum change from a place I enjoy to a place I avoid.
This is not me announcing my retirement, but me voicing my opinion on matters. I ask that no one posts in this thread after this post, but thinks about their involvement in the forum. What would they prefer, friendly competition or constant arguing? I think the answer is pretty clear.
Thank you for reading. I will try and get this tournament back on track within the next fortnight.

HEAT F: ROUND ONE
X-Terminator (10) VS Apocalypse VS Tsunami VS Diabolus
House Robots - Sir Killalot and Dead Metal.
3...2...1...ACTIVATE!
All 4 machines move off from their starting positions - Diabolus albeit slower than the others - and collide in the middle of the arena. The disc of X-Terminator, the 10th seed, whirring manically as it crashes into the machine from Cardiff, knocking it slightly upwards but not causing any cosmetic damage to the 4mm Hardox armouring. Tsunami gets into the mix, attacking the slowly approaching Diabolus and flipping it over, but doing nothing to the invertible machine. The German Tsunami slides the flipping plate underneath the ground clearance of Diabolus, drives towards the are arena side wall and flips, sending Diabolus up into the air... but crashing back down behind its attacker! Meanwhile, on the other side of the arena, the machine from Hereford has been tenacious and relentless against Apocalypse, the Hardox armour not breaking but certainly being buckled and looser as the fight goes on. But heres a chance for Liam and Team Welsh Warlords, as the flipper gets underneath the front scoop of X-Terminator and flips it itno the air! The 10th seed looks like an Olympic gymnast as it somersaults and twists into the air. It crashes onto the arena floor on its side - it didnt nail that landing :proud: - , before Marlon Pritchard quickly self rights the machine using the pneumatic srimech spikes. Tsunami, obviously bored of playing with with Diabolus - who doesnt appear to be moving in any direction after that fearsome flip from the German bot - quickly attempts to dart underneath the self righting X-Terminator, but mistimes the attack and gets a faceful of spinning disc, the front flipper getting a delicious looking scar in the Titanium armouring. Refbot looks worryingly (can he look worrying?? meh...) at Diabolus, who seems motionless, before counting it out. Sir Killalot is itching to get out of his CPZ and cause some damage, and darts out just as the timer on Refbots clock reaches the magic 10! Diabolus is now at the mercy of the House Robots, Sir Killalot plucking him up into the air and parading his motionless carcass to the audience, who cheer wildly. But are they cheering for Sir K? No! X-Terminator has been flipped once again, the kinetic disc eating into the arena floor in the process! It was on the receiving end of a double team, the two flippers of Apocalypse and Tsunami joining forces to dispose of the 10th seed! X-Terminator self rights, but falls straight back onto the flipper of Apocalypse. The Welsh Wonder sends X-Terminator into the air again, this time Marlon Pritchards machine executing the perfect landing and drives off quickly in order for the spinning disc to get up to speed once again. Tsunami slams into the pit release button, but not before Apocalypse catches up with X-Terminator, hoping to flip it once more. However, the 0m turning circle on X-Terminator allows it to dodge the attack and thwack Apocalypse on the side with the disc, completely dislodging the Hardox armouring and exposing the juicy innards! Liam looks worried and backs off, just before X-Terminator comes in on the charge again, the machine from Hereford sensing a weakness as emerged in Apocalypse. However, he has forgotten the small matter of Tsunami, who slides right underneath the front scoop, and flips X-Terminator straight onto its back, the disc cutting grooves into the arena floor before coming to a stand-still. The audience cheer and whoop as Marlon Pritchard tries deperately to get X-Terminator self righted, but to no avail. The 10th seed bomb out in round 1!!
Diabolus was diabolical (Thanks Joey! :proud:) and X-Terminator exterminated, but claiming he will be back. Yeah, guess again!

Shouldnt be too much of a problem, just avoid the front flipper (even though I may get under it) and keep flipping and pushing it around, go for an OOTA or pitting. And I guess Im facing Tsunami in the final if I win this next bout, so if I get past Killer Carrot just go for the same tactics against Tsunami :)

Killer Carrot 2 VS Apocalypse

And it is the machine from the depths of Wales that gets off the mark quickest, using the six-wheel-drive well to gain traction on the arena floor as it darts towards the bright orange Killer Carrot 2. The sleek wedge shape of Apocalypse easily sliding underneath the front flipper of KC2, which has seen great improvements due to a Hassocks Hog spreadsheet, and snags the machine from West Sussex on the barbs. Apocalypse fires its flipper and the carrot is sent airborne! A flying carrot? Its genetically modified food gone mad! Luckily for the Englebright family, and not so luckily for Liam Eliot, Killer Carrot 2 crashes onto the arena floor, swiftly self righting before using its two-wheel-drive to dart away from another onslaught from Apocalypse. The Welsh wonder gives chase, stalking KC2 like a predator hoping to catch its prey, but the speed of KC2 proves telling, as the orange flipping machine speeds away from danger once again, this time slamming straight into the pit release button. The pit descends, and poor driving from Rob Englebright almost sees KC2 fall into the pit in some kind of weird kamikaze movement. It narrowly avoids plummeting into the pit, but ends up getting a face full of disc as it drives carelessly into Matildas CPZ. Killer Carrot 2 is getting julienned (its when you cut veggies into batons, God bless Gordon Ramsey :proud:) as the aluminium armour proves as useful as an inflatible dartboard. Apocalypse drives carefully towards the action, and gets the flipper underneath... Matilda? A swift flip sends our gorgeous Tildy on her back, much to the enjoyment of the audience, who whoop and cheer, pounding the plexiglass wall in admiration. However, this show-boating from Liam Eliot allows KC2 go get its flipper underneath the side of Apocalypse and attempts a flip. The pneumatics strain, but eventually turn Apocalypse over, leaving the machine dangerously near the arena side wall. The flipper fires on Apocalypse as it self rights in superb style, cartwheeling through the air and onto its wheels once again. KC2 comes in on the attack again, but fails to get unerneath its opponent, Apocalypse getting the upper hand on this one. Liam uses the barbs on the front of Apocalypse to hold KC2 as it uses its six-wheel-drive to edge nearer to the open pit. Killer Carrot 2 tries to gain some form of traction on the front flipper of Apocalypse, but Team Englebright can only look on in horror as their carrotty machine is dumped into the pit!
Killer Carrot 2 obviously not a 24 carat machine!
Apocalypse goes through to the Heat Final.

Similar tactics, flip push and OOTA/Pit. However, I have a baaaaaaaaad feeling about this fight, so Im staying away from the walls unless hes on my flipper

Apocalypse FTW
Its that time again, two machines battlign it out for the chance to get into the Vapourbot Vengeance Semi Finals. The winner, triumphant will lead a parade through the streets of its home town, the celebrity status awaiting them, a Fembot (please dont sue me, Mike Myers!) on each arm and a guaranteed spot in Dictionary Corner. The loser, well, they are thrown onto the scrapheap and the only television appearance they will be making is a cameo appearance in a Cillit Bang commercial. But before we discover who our rising star is - lets see how they got this far...
In round one, both Tsunami and Apocalypse fought well to fend off the attacks from the 10th seed, X-Terminator, the disc causing some problems, but the lack of a reliable srimech meant they were turned turtle and out of the competition. The other machine in that battle was Diabolus who failed to make a true impact, was counted out by Refbot and fed to the hungry Sir Killalot.
The other melee saw the experienced robots of Fluffy and Killer Carrot 2 against newbies Constrictor and Scarey-Go-Round, the latter proving as scary as a butterfly as Fluffy tore into it, destroying the armouring and rendering it immobile. Then, a shock, as Fluffy, the robot truly dominating the melee began to smoke, a blown motor rendering them immobile, leaving Constrictor and Killer Carrot 2 through.
In round 2 Apocalypse chopped the carrot down to size, as Killer Carrot 2 was flipped again and again and again, before being dumped unceremoniously into the pit.
In the other battle, Tsunami did the same to Constrictor, flipping it OOTA and out of the competition. The machine from Germany looking strong.
HEAT F: HEAT FINAL
Tsunami VS Apocalypse
House Robots - Sgt Bash and Shunt.
3...2...1...ACTIVATE!!
The audience are really psyched up for this bout, both these flipping machines are really strong, cruising their way through this heat like Usain Bolt on a running track. Both machines collide in the centre of the arena, the flipping plates desperately tryign to get underneath each other, but failing. Liam Eliot, the driver of Apocalypse backs off and tries again, but it is Tsunami that gets the first hit in, sliding underneath Apocalypse. Apocalypse gets the six-wheel-drive into play and quickly reverses off, but not before Tsunamis flipper sends it somersalting backwards, doing a complete 360 degree spin in mid air before landing back on its wheels. The machine from Cardiff, in Wales, charges towards the German fighting machine, and this time drives straight under Tsunami, the barbs on Apocalypse holding its prey in place. Apocalypse charges towards the arena wall as the audience holds its breath - they know whats about to happen! Apocalypse fires it flipper just as it gets to the arena wall. Tsunami is sent rocketing into the air, spiralling and spinning as it lands on the camera track, out of the arena, the hopes of dreams of Tsunami gone in a matter of minutes! Apocalypse celebrates, firign its flipper and spinning on the spot madly, like a crazy carousel!
Tsunami turns out to be a right washout!
Apocalypse goes through to the Series Semi Finals!!

And as for the next heat I believe Wedga and Hellbent to proceed through the second melee, with Wedga beating SMIDSY to face Atomic in the final. That fight could go either way, but Atomics didgy self-righting could let it down so Ill go for Wedgas Revenge to go through.

Wedga is definitely through, and Araknia is definitely out...the other twos fate will depend on who Wedga goes for.

House Robots - Sgt Bash and Cassius Chrome
3...2...1...ACTIVATE!
Hellbent immediately speeds from its starting position and slams into the slow moving spider that is Araknia, the axe easily penetrating the carbon-fibre fibreglass (you say potato, I say CARDBOARD!) bodywork. Wedgas Revenge, meanwhile, slams head first into the discs of Mean Streak, the 4mm thick Hardox scoop easily protecting the flipper arm, as it glides underneath Mean Streaks high ground clearance and flips it clean into the air, leaving it crashing down onto the arena floor inverted, but not out of the competition. Mean Streak quickly spurts away from danger, using the 800w electric motors to move away from the machine from Shrewsbury. However, Andrew Jackson has other plans, as it gets the four-wheel-drive and 18HP into play, slamming into the side of Mean Streak and flipping it over once more, the Lexan armouring withstanding some terrible punishment here! At the other end of the arena, Araknia has managed to free itself from Hellbents clutches and thwacks the front forks with the spinning blade - a shower of sparks flodding the arena and lighting up our arena like a Catherine Wheel. Hellbent, however, is unphased and drives into Araknia once again, this time getting the forks underneath and flipping the machine from Lancashire over onto its back, axeing the underbelly and putting a huge hole into the carbon-fibre fibreglass bodywork once more! Mean Streak, now inverted for the 3rd time by Wedgas Revenge, tries to get the discs into play, but before it even has a chance to turn around Wedga is there, tenacious as ever, and gets another flip in, this time the Lexan armouring on the top (well, technically now the bottom) of Mean Streak looking a little bit buckled and a little bit battered. Wedga comes in once more, sliding the flipping arm underneath and sends Mean Streak over the arena side wall, Sgt Bash looking on, and giving the machine from West Yorkshire a lick of flame as it goes over! Were down to three, as Wedga spins on the spot, but instead of attacking its opponents, darts into Sgt Bashs CPZ, flipping the house robot clean over! Cassius Chrome, who has been sitting quietly in his CPZ on the other side of the arena, darts over to avenge his buddys attack. Wedgas Revenge waitsspeeds away, Cassius Chrome giving chase before eventually catching up with the flipper-bot and slamming it into the arena side wall. Andrew Jackson tries frantically to get his machine off the wall, eventually doing so and getting the flipping arm underneath the side of Cassius Chrome. A swift flip and the newest House Robot is overturned - the crowd whooping and cheering like spectators in a Gladiator match!
Hellbent continues its attack on Araknia, the carbon-fibre fibreglass machine unable to get the spinning blade into play due to it becoming inverted (the robot, not the blade), and is obviously having some kind of manouverability problem. The axe of Hellbent entending and retracting, each hit perforating the carbon-fibre fibreglass bodywork of Araknia, making it resemble a colander! Wedgas Revenge, now finished playing with the house robots and for some reason sparing Refbot, who has taken to cowering in the corner, slams into Hellbent and Araknia (the formers axe now embedded into the carbon-fibre fibreglass armouring and appearing to be stuck) and drives them towards the arena side wall - The 18HP drive of Wedgas Revenge doing exactly what it was meant to do. the flipper fires and Araknia and Hellbent are sent into the air. Hellbent crashes into the arena wall, the force of the flip dislodging the axe from Araknia, who has landed on the camera tracks!
Araknia seems to be suffering from Robophobia, and Mean Streak about as good as a streak of p...aint. :proud:
Wedgas Revenge and Hellbent are through to the next round.

I agree with the above predictions... :wink: Get under SMIDSY, preferably at the sides where its got high clearance and is unprotected. Then use my superior drive train to push it towards the walls and then launch it out.

SMIDSY (13) VS Wedgas Revenge

3...2...1...ACTIVATE!
The unlucky-for-some 13th seeds are the fort to get away, immediately driving towards Wedgas Revenge, trying to get the lifting jaw underneath. Robin Bennett, at the controls of SMIDSY looks somewhat worried, as his machine fails to get underneath the machine from Shrewsbury, but the opposite - a flip from Wedgas Revenge sending SMISDY soaring into the air before landing with a hefty thump onto the arena floor. SMIDSY, however, is invertible, and carries on the attack, this time grinding away at the sides of Wedgas Revenge with the 11kg rear spinning disc, the Hardox monocoque armouring of Wedgas Revenge withstanding the attack, as it turns and gets SMIDSY onto the front scoop. Two of SMIDSYs wheels are now off the ground, as Wedgas Revenge drives towards the arena wall, aiming to send it over and out of the competition. The flip happens, but just a tad too late, as SMIDSY - instead of flying over the wall - is sent crashing into it, the full 18HP shove of Wedgas Revenge wobbling the Plexiglass wall. SMIDSY quickly manouvres itself away from danger and darts towards the pit release button mounted on the other side of the arena, but is being chased down by Andrew Jacksons flipping machine. SMIDSY skids into the pit release, the rear of the machine just clipping it and darts away from the advancing danger once again. The siren wails menacingly as the pit descends, Wedgas Revenge very nearly ending up in it, a last-minute change of direction sparing Andrew Jacksons blushes. SMIDSY, instead of running away, now comes in on the attack, slamming into the front of Wedgas Revenge. Once again, however, SMIDSY cannot get its lifting wedge underneath, but on the bright side, Wedgas Revenge has failed to get under SMIDSY as well.
Both machines desperately try to get some grip on the arena floor, but it is Wedgas Reenge who comes up trumps, the LEM130 Lynch motors giving the HP it needs to outpush SMIDSY and slam it, rear disc first, into the side wall. The impact sends SMIDSY ever-so-slightly into the air, allowing Wedgas Revenge to get underneath it once more. Another flip sends SMIDSY airborne, but not over the fence - instead landing in Matildas CPZ. The matriach of mechanical mayhem lunges forward, the tusks getting underneath the high ground clearance of the 13th seed, just as Wedgas Revenge also comes in with another flip. SMIDSY has another brief flying lesson, as it lands stacked up against the arena wall at the back of Matildas CPZ. The house robot quickly reverses, causing the huge vertical flywheel to thwack the veteran into the air, bouncing on top of the fence, before landing out of the arena.
SMIDSY should change its name to SMIDSYD - Sorry Matilda I Didnt See Your Spinning Disc!

I think this one may be more even than the stats would suggest, its basically a case of who flips who out first...Ill go for Atomic, just to be different :P
Same tactics as before - get to the sides or back, push it towards the walls and throw it OOTA. My skirting should hopefully stop Atomic from getting under and getting any flips in itself.

But first lets see how our heat finalists got this far!
In round one Atomic turned the turtle over the arena wall, and flipped Cygnus X3 over onto its back and unable to self right. Wedgas Revenge got its revenge on Mean Streak, before doing the same to Araknia!
Round two saw Atomic send Hellbent down the the underworld, via the camera tracks, of course, whilst Wedgas Revenge tried to flip SMIDSY out of the arena once, twice and thrice, before Matilda finally did the honours with her ferocious flywheel!

House Robots - Dead Metal and Sir Killalot
3...2...1...ACTIVATE!
Atomic surges from its starting grid, the speed and acceleration catching Wedgas Revenge off guard, speeding across the arena floor and slamming head first with the flipper into its opponent. The flipping plate, however, fails to get underneath Wedgas Revenge, but the force of the slam sends the machine from Shrewsbury reeling backwards. Before AJ can fire the flipper, Atomic has reversed off the front scoop and drives around the arena, hoping to get underneath via the sides. Wedgas Revenge turns to block Atomic off, and manages to get Atomic onto the flipper. This time, Wedgas Revenge fires its flipper and Atomic is flicked away, but not flipped over onto its back. Stephen Bebb spins Atomic back to face Wedgas Revenge, but AJ is one step ahead of him and gets under the front of Atomic, driving it towards the arena wall and flipping it up in the air! Atomic thuds back to the ground, a hiss of CO2 venting from the underneath. Atomic self rights and quickly escapes another onslaught from Wedgas Revenge, who can sense victory is coming its way. Atomic crashes into the pit release, the driving of Stephen Bebb almost manic and uncontrollable, before headinf for Wedgas Revenge once again. This time, neither robot are able to successfully get under one another, Wedgas Revenge slowly but surely pushing Atomic back towards Dead Metals CPZ. Atomic tries desperately not to be outpushed, a surge of grip and aggression shoving Wedgas Revenge back, but unable to finish the job at hand, as Wedgas Revenge finally manages to shove Atomic into Dead Metals CPZ. The claws on Dead Metal latch around the back of Atomic, the saw blade whirring manically as it moves forward in its cradle. The sound of sawblade on Titanium fills the arena with a terrifying shriek, sparks pouring away from the blade like water from a fountain. Atomic wriggles whilst in the cluthes of Dead Metal, the sawblade coming down again and making another fountain of sparks. Eventually Atomic is released from the CPZ and charges directly at Wedgas Revenge, who has placed itself near the centre of the arena. The two machines crash in the middle, Atomic ending up on the scoop of Wedgas Revenge. Andrew Jackson flips Atomic over, leaving the veteran to Robot Wars on its back. Atomic self rights, but fails, the broken gas valve causing the precious CO2 to leak out and leave Atomic weaponless and srimechless. Refbot counts out Atomic as Wedgas Revenge spins in a victorious whirl.
CEASE!
Atomic was more like a Nuclear Disaster than an Atomic Bomb!
Wedgas Revenge goes through to the Series Semi Finals!

A newcomer to the wars, DreamCatcher is eager to put in a dream performance. The main weapon is the domed shell itself, which can spin up to 2400rpm and tear up anything in its path with the sharpened blade fixed over it. Its quick and manoueverable with top speeds of 18mph and the 4mm Hardox armour will be tough to crack. The underbelly, however, is only thin polycarbonate and with no srimech, a good flipper could turn DreamCatchers debut into a nightmare!

Rebooted for a third time, Mega Hurts has its bloodshot eyes set on victory once again! Still boxy and bright yellow, the CO2 flipping keyboard is now more powerful than ever and the forward-hinged laptop screen makes for a very funky srimech. Mega Hurts has plenty of RAM with its 2 x 750w electric motors and its steel construction makes it tougher than it looks. That said, the polycarbonate armour has been easily smashed in the past and, like my old PC, this veteran has reliability issues.
IN RW2 (as Mega Hurts): Eliminated in King of the Castle...taking Sgt Bash and Dead Metal with it!

Formerly a psychotic wheat thresher, Revolution has been completely redesigned for maximum anarchy. Mark 3 is similar in many ways to the current champ Tornado - an invertible aluminium and polycarb box with four big wheels and a 2500rpm spinning drum on the front. Its 3 x 1.5kw electric motors give it plenty of push, as well as 12mph top speeds and great acceleration. Unfortunately, the invertible frame leaves the wheels open to aerial attacks and its previous form wasnt too reliable. Will Revolution 3 lead us to the promised land or simply overthrow itself?

Born of junk and always up for a fight, the Scrapper more than lives up to its name. This is a boxy bot with two wheels, an angled top and a horizontal spinning disc on the front. The flywheel weighs 20kg and can reach speeds of 950rpm - one hit and youll be scrap! The Scrapper is also invertible, bad news for the many flippers this year, and the rear is protected by a row of ramming spikes. The 800w electric motors dont give the newcomer much push, though, and the 6mm see-through polycarbonate is like an open buffet for fellow spinners. The Scrapper could well become the Scrapped!

Revolution 3 gets off to the quickest start, clattering into the Scrapper and pushing it across the arena! The newcomer is slammed into the western wall, just as Mega Hurts L.T. arrives on the scene. The crazed computer slips its keyboard under Revolutions rear and flicks the rambot up, but not over! Revolution is just about to exact revenge when DreamCatcher enters the fray, spinning shell humming wickedly. The dark dome lurches forward, striking both Mega Hurts and Revolution! The veterans are flung aside, Mega Hurts sporting the bigger scars of the two! The Scrapper takes this oppertunity to strike a dazed Revolution with its flywheel! The newcomer barely has time for a second blow when Mega Hurts bustles in! The duo dance together briefly until the Scrappers spinner hits the laptops side! Infuriated, Mega Hurts drives under the Scrappers revving disc and flicks the newbie over onto its back, just as DreamCatcher charges back over!
CRRRASH!
Both robots are sent flying by the spinning dome, now up to its maximum speed! The Scrapper quickly recovers, its side scraped and scarred, but Mega Hurts is starting to look battered! As for Revolution, hes just hit the Pit Release Button and is on his way back to pay out the Scrapper! Mega Hurts, meanwhile, is trying to shake off DreamCatcher, but the nippy spinner quickly catches up!
CRRRASH!
Mega Hurts is sent spinning again, this time with a nasty gash put into the polycarbonate sides! The veteran hardly has time to get its wheels turning before DreamCatcher comes in for another assault! Clearly, Daniel has some serious computer issues.
CRRRASH!
This time, the flipper takes the brunt of the attack and right now, Mega Hurts is starting to look pretty sluggish. The loveable laptop tries to scuttle away to safety, but DreamCatcher simply swoops in for another blow...and another...and another! While the Welsh entry vents its anger at Microsoft, well move to Revolution and the Scrapper, who are engaged in a tense tango. The Scrapper has caused little more damage to Revolution, but its manoueverability is making it hard for the veteran to hit. This soon changes when the Scrapper manages to clip Revolutions side, spinning itself around! This allows the quicker Revolution enough time to dive in and crash into the newcomers side! The Scrapper tries to get away, but Revolution is in total control, effortlessly pushing its rival down the arena towards the Pit! A screech of tyres, a puff of smoke and the Scrapper finds itself out of the competition!
The Scrapper returns to the junkheap from whence it came! What a scrappy performance! :proud:
At the other end of the ring, things are looking grim for Mega Hurts. DreamCatchers relentless assault has slowed it to a crawl and covered its shell with dents and gashes! The Welsh machine strikes again, seemingly damaging the flipper! It certainly doesnt seem to be responding to Dave and Tonys controls anymore...and neither is the rest of the robot! DreamCatcher puts in one more blow to make sure, just as Revolution decides to join them! With the newcomers shell suitably slowed, Revolution bumps into DreamCatcher and pushes the deadly dome into the top wall! Daniel tries to get the shell whirling again, but its hard to do with a Tornado lookalike punching your lights out! His bots still in much better shape than Mega Hurts, though, who is being examined by the Refbot. Theres clearly no more life in those bloodshot eyes, as the Ref raises his hand...
1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9...10!
Refbot has barely flashed the red card when Dead Metal zips in to clear up the mess. Grappling the fallen veteran, the House Robot sinks its saw into Mega Hurts srimech screen with particular pleasure. You see, DreamCatcher isnt the only one with a grudge against computers. Dead Metal tried switching to Windows Vista not too long ago and nearly frazzled his circuits. Now, its payback time. Happily grinding away at the screen, Dead Metal pushes the battered remains of Mega Hurts onto the Floor Flipper and quickly backs away. Dave and Tony can only laugh as their computerized creation soars through the air, lands upside-down near the bottom of the ring...and flicks itself back onto its wheels! Well, at least the srimech still works!

Mega Hurts L.T. has performed an illegal operation and will shut down. Permanantely. :proud:

Against Scraptosaur I will spin and try to disable the flipper. Stay away from the sides, the CPZs and the pit. Oh no hes coming back...
