good to see ya back Matt :)
Hooray! Matty has returned! :)
Welcome to the 2nd round 2 battle in Heat 3 of the Fowler Fic War Series 5 and today we see Yet Another cut Above The Rest going up against Sengazanken.

Activate!
Both robots move straight towards each other from the start, both obviously having the idea of preventing their opponent spinning up, whilst both losing aggression levels. It€™s Sengazanken who gains more from this though, as with the superior shape and power for pushing, he slams YACATR into the wall and into the angle grinders, causing sparks to fly off one of YACATR€™s truncated pyramid-shaped wheel pods.
AJ doesn€™t respond too well to this onslaught, traversing his way out of a tight situation and spinning up the dual-contact area disc to a reasonable speed, Tony turns Sengazanken to face him with the hinged wedge and comes straight at him with it. The result is points for both parties, as on impact a small gash is left in the wedge of Tony€™s machine, however the wedge pulls him up regardless of the impact and Tony ends up underneath the side of YACATR, possibly doing damage to the underbelly but invisible to the rest of us.
He drives across the arena and slams him into the wall once more, where YACATR flops onto his side, but the shape merely allows him to fall back right way up once more. Sengazanken wastes no time in preventing AJ from doing what he did before however, and gets underneath the discs slamming the discs into it, causing sparks to fly once more, before slamming him into the pit release button.
The siren sounds and the pit as ever descends, though with slightly less grace than usual. However in trying to reverse , he drops YACATR off the hinged wedge, and AJ moves away to get the disc up to speed. Tony chases after him to try and stop it spinning up too fast, but as he charges in, AJ moves his machine, just slightly and the attack hits the side of the hinged wedge, bending the hinge itself slightly and the slight movement, sends the wedge into the disc, preventing either of Tony€™s front discs from working.
The impact has slown the disc down enough though that Tony can come in with the wedge again though, and he attempts to charge straight underneath YACATR once more. Sengazanken appears to have been slightly unbalanced and veers, ever so slightly to the right, this is still enough to get under the wheel pod of YACATR however, and begins once again moving him towards the pit. The bottom corner of the wedge is still digging into the arena floor and cause Sengazanken to move away from its intended destination, which soon leads to problems when he drops AJ€™s machine once again not far from the pit. This gives AJ a chance to spin up his disc ready for Tony to try and come in again.
Tony decides to reverse this time as he feels that it may be easier to drive, which it soon proves to be, reversing straight back into him, only to be immediately met by the disc. The impact is huge, a massive gash being put in the side of Sengazanken, who flies off. But AJ loses control of his machine from the impact, and ends up spinning right over the edge of the pit. One wheel is stuck on the very edge. He tries to gain purchase but only ends up pulling himself further over the edge. Swaying he tries to get himself into a position to escape, but a massively slowed down Sengazanken, steers his way back into the frame. A little nudge, another little nudge, each one pushing YACATR closer to oblivion.
Finally, AJ gains some purchase, and begins to pull his way out but the limping Sengazanken once again nudges him back over the perimeter€¦ this can€™t go on for much longer, and thankfully it doesn€™t as with one last slightly more powerful nudge, Sengazanken drops YACATR into the pit.
CEASE
Well, YACATR was teetering, tottering and eventually out, but he put up a better than good fight at points of that match. However, with a lot of repairs to be made, it€™s Sengazanken that go through to the Heat Final!
And so to that heat final where it€™s
Whirligig 4.0. (5) v Sengazanken
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, Condoms?
...its alive! Break out the champagne and dust off the...thingy... :proud:
Sengazanken will only win this if Whirly loses it.
Never mind, great battle as always!
I think Whirligig should win this one.
What? No Tactics? Oh well, never mind :)
So here we have it, the heat final of Heat 3, where we€™re gonna see Whirligig 4.0 up against Sengazanken for the 3rd spot in the semi-final.
Here we go.
3€¦
2€¦
1€¦
Activate!
Whirligig 4.0 is the first to move at the whistle, going over to the corner of the arena in order to spin the up the massively devastating shell, whilst Sengazanken limps out of the blocks, bloodied and beaten from his last 2 skirmishes, but still just about going albeit with only one disc for this fight, as the other sits static, evidently damaged in the last bout against YACATR.
Whirligig 4.0 takes no time at all to get his shell up to speed, and immediately then starts moving towards a rather sheepish Sengazanken, who looked lightning fast in his first round battle, but is now limping at what looks like a fraction of the pace. Whirligig still seems to be wary of the front wedge and disc on Tony€™s machine though, and so sidles up to the rear corner, making barely any contact but still shredding a gouge in the corner of the 8mm titanium shell.
The good thing about the attack for Steve though is, not only has he done damage, but he€™s also not slowed the shell down, and is now directly behind Sengazanken. He makes the most of this an immediately reverses in for an attack on the full surface of the rear. He slams in and a loud popping noises fills the arena as he sends the middle of the panel inwards with a phenomenal shot, popping it like a knife through a coke can.
Tony€™s limping further now, and it€™s obvious that previous battles really have taken their toll. Smoke is starting to billow out of the machine, which is crawling almost snail paced. He does just about manage to make it to the pit release button which he nudges, in the vain hope, one would imagine, that he could possibly hope for a lucky spin, much like he had against YACATR in the last fight.
Whirligig€™s not playing it stupid though, and comes in from the side this time, shell still spinning, smashing it again, and tearing a ravine into the side panel. Tony€™s robot limps away, but only seems capable of going in a straight line. He slams the controls down up in the pod, and it appears to possibly reception that€™s been damaged as he continues to go forward€¦ Refbot realises he€™s immobilised even though he€™s still moving and comes into count him out.
CEASE
Sengazanken can€™t summon the strength to get any further Whirligig 4.0 blows his way through into the series semi-finals.
Next up: Heat 4
Axe to Fall (7) v Mega Masher v Dysfunction
Slammer V (23) v MeCannibal v Kan Opener
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, Toilet Paper?
Axe to Fall v Mega Masher v Dysfunction
Uh...cant remember what the last two are, but Ill guess Mega Masher to go out.
Slammer V v MeCannibal v Kan Opener
A robot is going to overload in a catastrophic manner and explode into small pieces. That robot will not be a real robot, or a seeded machine.
And great fights Matt, looks like you could be getting back into things at last :)
Matty...is...BAAAAAACK! With w00ty fights to boot! :proud:
Axe to Fall (7) vs. Mega Masher 2 vs. Dysfunction 2.0
LOL :proud: Err...I think me and Martijn should destroy Mega Masher. :)
MeCannibal to go out in the next fight.
I think we should destroy Mega Masher 2 together Kody
Seriously, what does EVERYBODY have against Mega Masher? What gives?
Anyway, use superior drive and ramming skills to box rush competitors, or give them a whack with the disc if they come from the sides or behind.
Errr...since my vapourbots have been updated...a lot...I think it would be wise to ask if Matty knows where to find Dysfunction 2.0s stats. :proud:
Arent they on that forum which I am avoiding visiting for the next thirty six hours, also known as ZED? :proud:
Here we go again! It€™s heat 4 of the Fowler Fic War Series 5, and this heat will mark the quarter-of-the-way mark!
Let€™s meet our first 3 machines going for it in this heat.
First in, is Axe to Fall. Seeded number 7, Axe to Fall has on many occasions proved that he can cut the mustard among the Fanfic scene, and a 5kg axe powered by 2, 1000psi nitrogen canisters shows why. 2 LEM€™s give it enough shove to make it handy as well. However although the 8mm titanium front is sturdy, the 15mm polycarbonate shell everywhere else could be susceptible to a battering. Are we just waiting for the hammer to fall?
FFW History
In FFW3- Hammered the hell out of Bulldog Breed in round 1, before getting through a nervy fight in round 2 by a judges decision against Ramthrax. In the heat final, stunned SoR 4.0, but eventually went out in the first round of the semis, when Squishiest destroyed it.
In FFW4- Teamed up with The Crashing Bore to dispose of Flank Attack in round 1, before smashing Heart of Fire to hell as well. In an all seed final, eventually managed to pit Slammer, getting him through to the semis for the 2nd series running. Got one stage further as well, knocking out Wedga Revo in round 4, but eventually succumbed to The Disc at the quarter final stage.
Points
FFW3 - 5/2 = 2.5
FFW4 - 10
Total - 12.5 (seeded 7th)
Next in is Chris Mason€™s Mega Masher 2. Shaped like the successful battlebot Minion, and armed with a vicious spinning disk at the rear, and a wedge at the front to get underneath other machines, it€™s got both offence and defence covered. However there€™s not much power from the Bosch 750W motors and the 3.25mm hardox armour could be weak at that hands of more destructive machines.
FFW History
In FFW3 - Did Not Enter
In FFW4 - Did Not Enter
Last in for this first battle is Dysfunction 2.0. Kody€™s offering for this heat is armed with 2 drums designed to flip and if possible, damage as well, whilst a pneumatic flipping arm in the centre provides a more immediately offensive option. The 7mm titanium armour will take a fair clout from a lot of weapons, but the Magmotor drive is not the strongest and the wheels could be attacked from the rear with the right weapon.

Immediately Axe To Fall goes forward into a head-on collision with Mega Masher 2, whilst dysfunction 2.0 sits back slightly in order, one would imagine to allow the angled drums to get up to speed. Chris and Martijn€™s machines slam into one another with the axe of Axe to Fall immediately coming down on top of the 3.25mm Hardox, but leaving little more than a mild dent in the casing.
Dysfunction 2.0 comes over at this point trying to bring the flipper into bear but as the other 2 machines move around trying to get in an aggressive position, he only manages to get underneath Axe To Fall, whom it didn€™t look like he was trying to attack. He fires the flipper none the less, and Martijn€™s machine rolls straight back over with a brief flick of the axe to help it along its way.
Mega Masher 2 sees this as a chance to use it to his advantage however, and comes in with his rear end disc, slicing into the 15mm polycarbonate shell with seemingly relative ease. Martijn doesn€™t look happy with this and turns around, bringing the axe down again, this time onto the wedge, the axe managing to make a tiny hole this time round. While this is happening though, Kody has come in to attack his originally intended target, sliding underneath Mega Masher from the rear, and firing the flipper, sending Chris€™s machine over onto his back.
Chris drives off inverted, presumably to allow himself room to fire the side arms and get back onto his wheels without risk of being attacked, but Martijn catches him and slams the axe down into one of the wheels of Mega Masher 2. Immediately it€™s evident that the axe has gone straight through the rubber on the tyres, and the 2 machines begin trying to pull against one another which just allows the axe blade to rip through the rubber on the tyres further.
When Martijn eventually brings the axe back up, one of the 4 tyres is torn completely, and begins unravelling itself from the wheel as Chris tries to drive his machine away. He gets about half the distance towards the pit release button when he stops suddenly. 3 of the wheels appear to be still spinning and this is causing Mega Masher to move via vibrations, but its evident that the split tyre has got stuck somewhere underneath Mega Masher and he can€™t move. Dysfunction 2.0 sees this and decides to use this as the opportunity to end the fight before the situation changes.
Kody drives his machine over towards the failing carcass of Mega Masher 2, and slides the flipper underneath, and begins pushing him to the wall, which immediately seems to dislodge the trapped rubber as Chris hits the controls manically trying to escape his impending doom. But it€™s too late for Mega Masher 2 as Kody fires the flipper, sending Chris toppling very acrobatically over the fence and out of the Competition.
CEASE
Mega Masher must Mega Hurt! Axe To Fall and Dysfunction 2.0 hammer their way into round 2.
I guess I didnt have to. :proud: Great fight Matty! :)
Im having problems as Alex has updated the stats on his site to Slammer VI. has anyone got the stats for Slammer V?
Theyre there if you scroll all the way down :P http://www.geocities.com/alex_j_holt/slammer.htmhttp://www.geocities.com/alex_j_holt/slammer.htm
Incidentally, Mr. Matty, would you be so kind as to inform me of your msn address?
MSN address is

and thanks, lol
Welcome to the 2nd first round battle of the Fowler Fic War Series 5, and today we see the number 23 seeds, taking on a real robot, and a newbie to get through to round 2.
Now, Matt is really getting bored of writing intros for each of the robots especially as everyone knows about them so he€™s just going to do the histories :)
First in, seeded number 23, Slammer V
In FFW3 - In round 1, took out his own team mate Hector, however got caught short in round 2 by Voltronic who went on to win the heat
In FFW4 - In round 1, teamed up with Heart of Fire to knock Cleopatra out of the competition. Got through an extra round as they managed to knock out veterans The Crashing Bore in round 2. Lost out in an all-seed heat final though to Axe to Fall.
Points
FFW3 - 2/2 = 1
FFW4 - 3
Total = 4
Next in is MeCannibal.
In FFW3 - DNE
In FFW4 - DNE
And finally Kan-Opener
In FFW3 - DNE
In FFW4 - DNE
And off we go after that immensely lazy start.

Slammer using the wedge is the first to tear across the arena straight into MeCannibal, who finds himself on top of the wedge before he has any time to spin up at all, Kan Opener then uses the opportunity to come in and immediately parks himself around the rear of Kan-Opener and gets his claws around the tyres surrounding the wheels and immediately tries to close the claws on them, but Alex, realising he can gain control and aggression points, fire his self-flipping arms, launching both himself and MeCannibal into the air, with MeCannibal falling just short of the arena fence (right way up) and Slammer himself landing directly on top of Kan-Opener.
Alex tries to get Slammer to spin his wheels on top of the shiny titanium armour of Kan Opener, but just ends up hovering around struggling to gain any purchase. Kan Opener tries to drive as smoothly as possible to the pit release button but Slammer falls off along the way. Kan Opener carries on his merry way anyway and drives into the pit release button, which immediately lowers the pit with klaxons sounding around the arena. (Oooh-oooh-oooh-oooh-oooh-oooh-oooh-oooh-oooh-ah) :proud:
MeCannibal has been left to his own devices on the other side of the arena and that€™s exactly the way he likes it as it means he€™s been given full time to spin up. Immediately he charges over towards Slammer but again Slammer gets the wedge facing him and gets right underneath the incoming machine. Immediately he fires the self flipping arm and turns him upside down, immediately leaving Pauls€™ machine with no number. No-one is sure why MeCannibal has stopped until Slammer throws him through the air and it is realised that MeCannibal is sans motors.
It turns out that those were what the big sticky out lumps on the top of MeCannibal were as there is no way in hell you would ever get Etek motors into a machine 15cm tall, and so he had to leave a big hole to let them fit out of which they have fallen out of the second he was flipped.
CEASE
MeCannibal ate itself with a rubbish design, Slammer V and Kan Opener go through to round 2.
Round 2 line-up
Axe To Fall (7) v Kan Opener
Slammer V (23) v Dysfunction 2.0
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, Stilton and broccoli soup?
A raging design flaw rather artfully handled, I must say. :proud:
Axe To Fall (7) v Kan Opener
I cant really see the seed going out here.
Slammer V (23) v Dysfunction 2.0
Likewise, although I think it will be a closer battle than the other :P
Actually from what I remember of Axe to Falls stats, Kan Opener could do a lot of damage to it.
Kan Opener and Slammer V through if my memory serves, Axe to Fall and Slammer V through if it doesnt. Either way Slammer V through:proud:
Poo to your predictions. :P
Tactix - Open pit, get it down. :P
Welcome to the first round 2 battle in heat 4 of FFW5 and today we see 7th seeds Axe To Fall up against UKRW veterans Kan Opener for a place in the heat final, we€™re off to the arena.

Activate!
Immediately both machines come out of their respective starting positions and slide across the arena. Axe To Fall appears to be the quickest but Kan Opener appears to be the smoother moving and starts snaking across the arena trying to stay away from the front of Axe To Fall and the vicious axe that has won him so many fights. It is Axe To Fall who gets the first attack in, but it€™s more a scraping blow on the roof of Kan Opener with nothing more than a scratch on the paintwork of the Grade 5 titanium coated machine.
Kan Opener traverses away from this attack and immediately finds himself at the back corner of Axe To Fall and quickly, or as quickly as you can with hydraulics, shuts the jaws around the 15mm polycarbonate shell, going through it was if it was butter that had been left out of the fridge for a week. Evidently it has done no damage to the internal workings of Martijns€™ machine however, as immediately he moves away as if nothing has happened, spins his machine around, and slams down the axe again, leaving a small dent, with possibly a tiny perforation on the lid of Kan Opener.
Kan Opener doesn€™t like this and decides to attack imminently, coming in with his claws to get around the front titanium wedge and immediately trying to crumple the armour on the side of Axe To Fall. It appears to be a little sturdier than the rear corner however, and both sides just flex in slightly before seemingly becoming damage resistant, from that angle at least. Martijn uses the opportunity to repeatedly slam the axe down on the lid of Kan Opener though, and the teams apparent complacency that their armour would hold up to such treatment seems partially justified as although tiny perforations appear to be making the machine look a little like a pepper pot it can€™t possibly be damaging enough to be causing any more than superficial damage.
They decide however that anything that could swing the points in Axe To Falls favour is not worth going through though, and soon open the claws further popping the polycarbonate armour as he pulls out his very own weapons of mass destruction. He immediately slides away at this point, and tries to spin his way around the rear, but as he closes the claws again Axe To Fall moves away and spins around, sliding the wedge at the front under the closed claws and slamming him into the sidewall with the 2 machines actually moving away from the centre of the arena for the first time throughout their scupple.
Kan Opener tries to push away but Axe To Fall keeps the wheels spinning forward and traps him due to his more powerful motors and decides to slam the axe down repeatedly, again leaving little pepper pot like perforations on the top. Kan Opener however realises he can still attack and having managed to open his claws now closes in again and pierces another point on either side, with the same vigour as he did previously, making holes in the side and crumpling repeatedly as he opens and closes the claws repeatedly.
Axe To Fall realises how dangerous this situation is and backs off, to be immediately followed by Kan Opener who flies towards his front before traversing at the last possible moment. Axe To Fall has already slammed the axe down though, which has immediately dug into the arena floor, and appears to leave him stuck. Martijn seems to be wiggling his switches in order to get the axe out of the ground, but by the time he€™s managed it, Kan Opener has got round to the back and begun to crumble through both side panels from the rear, which appears to be weaker despite being the same thickness as he perforates with such ease that it really showcases the power of the claws.
He lets go when he feels he€™s done with damaging the Dutch machine for this moment in time. Martijn immediately spins his combatant around and tries to hammer, but again Kan Opener has moved before the axe makes contact and the axe just slams into the floor again, though this time it doesn€™t appear to get stuck in the ground and immediately comes back up allowing Martijn to pursue his enemy once more in what is turning out to be a fantastic battle. He chases over to the UKRW real robot and immediately shunts him out of the way of the pit release button, only to follow through himself and knock it. The pit descends in the midst of its usual angelic chorus, and both robots immediately seem to move to the opposite side of the arena, making you wonder why it was released in the first place.
Kan Opener gets round the side again and closes the claws, which does very little damage as they stop once the right hand claw meets the 8mm titanium wedge, which it€™s unable to do anything more than dent slightly. He has a grip however, and immediately begins trying to use it, shunting him towards the CPZ of Matilda. Realising this Axe To Fall also tries to get into forward gear and the 2 immediately just end up going in circles performing a deadly robotic foxtrot. Eventually 30 seconds is up and Kan Opener is forced to unpin him, but by this point he€™s got Axe To Fall in between a rock and a hard place as he leaves him right on the edge of Matilda€™s CPZ. Martijn manoeuvres his machine wonderfully though and pulls himself out of a tricky spot.
The referee in the centre of the arena suddenly catches everyone€™s attention though as his weird countdown noises appears and the audience suddenly realise that they€™re watching the final seconds of the fight, and as Axe To Fall launches himself at Kan Opener for one final attack, slamming his axe and leaving another small perforation, the voiceover sounds!
CEASE
And for the first time in a while we€™re gonna have to go to a judges decision.
Damage - Kan Opener caused the more serious damage, while Axe To Fall did constant minor damage
Kan Opener - 6/10 * 5 = 30
Axe To Fall - 4/10 * 5 = 20
Aggression - Both machines were pretty aggressive however Axe To Fall seemed to be trying to get his axe down more often than Kan Opener tried to crush
Kan Opener - 4/10 * 4 = 16
Axe To Fall - 6/10 * 4 = 24
Style - Both robots seemed to be equally stylish
Kan Opener - 5/10 * 3 = 15
Axe To Fall - 5/10 * 3 = 15
Control - Kan Opener had far better control overall though Axe To Fall had a couple of excellent moments
Kan Opener - 6/10 * 2 = 12
Axe To Fall - 4/10 * 2 = 8
Dominance - Kan Opener always seemed to be slightly more in control of the fight.
Kan Opener - 7/10 * 1 = 7
Axe To Fall - 3/10 * 1 = 3
Totals - Kan Opener - 80
Axe To Fall - 70
And there you have it, possibly our first huge upset of the series! Axe To Fall is eliminated by a robot never to have won a battle in UKRW, Kan Opener go through to the heat final!
Welcome to the second round 2 battle in Heat 4 of the Fowler Fic War Series 5 and today we see 23rd seed Slammer V up against Dysfunction 2.0 for the 2nd place in our heat final.

Immediately from the shout, it€™s Slammer V using the full body axe set up who comes out with the weapon facing away and self-flips itself onto its oncoming foe, sticking one of the sharpened blades into the 7mm titanium armour, and immediately proving to have one of the most innovative weapons in FFW4. He hits the self-flip button again and pulls the axe out, whilst causing Dysfunction 2.0 to wobble under the combined force of axe head and the self-flip of Slammer but he soon stops gyrating.
Slammer V immediately comes in again and tries to repeat the manoeuvre but this time he just ends up trying to slam the axe down on the lifter, which Dysfunction 2.0 fires, sending Slammer onto his back, which doesn€™t affect him in the slightest as he immediately just self-flips again and sends the axe back into the front plate surrounding the lifter. This time Dysfunction 2.0 gets snagged and Slammer V fires the self-flipping arms, carrying Dysfunction 2.0 over the top with him. Dysfunction 2.0 is on his back, but immediately fires his flipper and with a graceful leap lands back on his wheels. Slammer V comes in again and this time tries just to shunt, but Dysfunction 2.0 chooses to turn slightly and gets the drums to tag the wheels denting the armour around it and causing a very slight tear to one of the wheels.
It doesn€™t seem to have done any damage to him that€™s any more than cosmetic however, as he immediately backs off, turns around and slams the axes in again thanks to the arms on top, this time though he merely hammers on top of one of the drums, causing sparks to fly. It has evidently done far more damage to Dysfunction 2.0 though as as soon as Slammer V comes back to the ground the drum is evidently slowing down and halts to a complete stop whilst the other one carries on spinning.
It€™s major damage that has been caused to Dysfunction 2.0 by Slammer V but it doesn€™t seem to have changed Kody€™s machines ability to stick in the fight as he immediately moves and slides underneath the side of Slammer V and firs the flipper throwing him across the air, though he lands on the same base as he seems to gracefully seems to glide through the air without toppling. He comes back in and fires€¦ well himself at Dysfunction 2.0 again but he gets right out of the way and Slammer V ends up hammering nothing but the floor. Dysfunction 2.0 comes in again immediately after and fires the flipper under the side again, this time sending Slammer V rolling across the arena and onto the other face.
Alex doesn€™t look to happy with this, and seeing an opening charges straight in at the back of Dysfunction 2.0 firing himself again and sending the axe blades plus the whole weight of the robot straight into the exposed wheels of Kody€™s machine twice in quick succession, failing to penetrate the tyres but hitting with an impressive force. Kody turns his machine around and fires the flipper, sending Slammer V away but Slammer V again takes the flip with ease and lands without so much of a look of being hurt by the attack. Kody puts his machine into forward gear, but forward gear takes him€¦ in a circle. Slammer comes in to give his foe a nudge, but Dysfunction 2.0 does nothing in response other than to keep driving in circles.
It appears that with one well-placed attack Alex has taken out Dysfunction 2.0s hopes of winning this fight and it later transpires that the attack on the wheel with the force of a 100kg robot has bent the axle and left Kody unable to get both wheels to purchase on the arena floor, but for now he must just look on in disbelief as his robot is counted down and out by the referee before the death call!
CEASE
Dyscfuntion 2.0 left the Osbournes looking functional. Slammer V drags his ball and chain into the heat final
And so:
Heat Final
Kan Opener v Slammer V (23)
Thoughts, Tactics, Predictions, HP Sauce?
Kan Opener probably wont be able to get hold of the shape of Slammer very easily, so I think the seed has it here.
Curse your correct predictions! :lame:
Slammer to win.
Welcome to the heat final of Heat 4 of the Fowler Fic War series 5. We€™re off to the arena in a minute to see who will triumph between Slammer V and Kan Opener to go through to the series semi-finals.

Slammer V, using the wedge again for this fight as I had no idea what else to give it as Alex hasn€™t been posting tactics (hint hint) immediately comes out his zone to go towards Kan Opener, but Kan Opener sees him coming and moves around the side to try and attack the rear end and in specific the tyres. He gets his rival in the claws and closes, and immediately in one shot lines his attack up so well that one claw goes straight into and then through the rubber tyres.
Immediately Slammer V loses balance and although is not going around in circles like Dysfunction 2.0 in his last fight, he is definitely driving with a bit of a curve and is really struggling to control his machine. Kan Opener definitely wants to use this to his advantage and comes in from the side trying to attack with the claws again, but a limping Slammer V easily escapes and gets his wedge under Slammer V in the process, firing his self-flipping arms and throwing both himself and Kan Opener over, with neither affected as both machines are invertible.
Kan Opener spins around from his base to base meeting with Mr. Floor and immediately tries to come at the exposed rear of Slammer V which he duly does, clamping onto the hardox and aluminium boron carbide wheel hubs. He fails to do any damage to them at all but gets an immensely good grip and immediately starts manoeuvring him towards the pit release button. Usually Slammer V would have had the stronger motors, but with such a lack of traction Kan Opener has no trouble at all in pushing him straight into the button.
As the pit descends, Kan Opener turns around and tries to get Slammer V in it before the pit even has time to reach the bottom. He does so with absolute ease, shoving Alex€™s machine right onto the edge before opening the claws, and with one small nudge sends him over the edge and plummeting to his destiny.
CEASE
Well another seed bites the dust as both a non-seed and a real robot make it through to the semi-finals. Kan Opener goes through!
Next up:
Heat 5
Wedginator (9) v PUMP v A Night At The Bar
SoR (25) v All Apologies v Drilla Killa
Thoughts, tactics, predictions, mushrooms?
*slips Matty some magic mushrooms*
My predicting is going somewhat wrong here. :proud: I think ANATB and All Apologies will go out here, the former due to its inherent instability and the latter due to me being unable to remember any details of it.
Pretty good fighting MAtty, I have to say :proud:
Kan-Opener went through :S
Wedginator 5.0 (9) vs. PUMP vs. A Night At The Bar
Old vapourbot is old...get ANatB down the pit fast, keep the front pointed at it so it doesnt get at the wheels.
I think All Apologies shall bow out in the next fight.
Good fights Matty. :)

No apology is going to save All Apologies.
Heat winner: Me or A Night at the Bar.

Well seeing as ANatB is the next biggest threat next to SoR Hex...Ive had a change of heart. :proud:

Welcome to the 1st round 1 battle in Heat 5 of FFW5, and today we have 3 more robots that I can€™t be bothered to introduce other than their histories, all vying to get through to the next stage.

Straight from the off both A Night At The Bar and PUMP€™s weapons start flailing into a mini whirling dervish, with the speed behind A Night At The Bars€™ weapon immediately appearing to levitate him slightly off the floor into a balanced cylindrical position. Wedginator 5.0 immediately drifts towards PUMP and comes straight at the bar with the flipper, trying to wedge rush him in order to stop the bar, but the impact between the low bar and the flipper is just a bending in the bottom corner of the tetrahedrical shape. It has had the desired effect of stopping the bar though, and it allows Wedginator 5.0 to slide underneath again and he drives him towards the wall, firing the flipper, but he doesn€™t time the flip right, and although PUMP is thrown over, he goes over off the side of the flipper, and moves away spinning the weapon up, now from its highest point.
A Night At the Bar begins to feel left out at this point, and moves slowly but elegantly across the arena and comes straight after Wedginator 5.0 with the weapon going at full speed, slamming into the polycarbonate shell which suddenly has a large crack appear in it. Another attack later on the same spot and another crack seems to tear a corner straight off leaving a huge portion of the area where the wheel is exposed. PUMP has also recovered at this point and comes in with the now up to speed bar at the same area that Martijn had just attacked. Wedginator sees the attack coming though, and immediately turns around, trapping PUMP on the wedge, from where he flips him once more, sending him the right way up again. A Night At The Bar has been pretended with the same side as before from this attack though and slams in again leaving a massive gash in the side panel from which gas immediately starts pouring meaning one of the 3 CO2 tanks has evidently been caught by the strength of the attack.
With gas pouring out from all angles, Wedginator 5.0 turns around to try and work out what to do next and turns around to face A Night At The Bar, repeating his manoeuvre that he performed against PUMP, slamming into him with the flipper, which buckles slightly before, sliding under the stopped bar and flipping him, while the bar is trying to get up to speed. A Night At The Bar falls to the ground and goes, like in Martijns description, like a rocking chair on steroids, bouncing all around the floor, before eventually settling having carved a couple of lumps out of the floor. In this time though PUMP has come over with his bar, and aimed an attack at the already exposed internal section of Wedginator 5.0 and getting the bar stuck in, not only cracking the area of polycarbonate even more, but also hitting one of the tyres with the bar. Immediately the damage from that attack shows, as Wedginator immediately starts hobbling, with the wheel evidently punctured. He soon stops moving in any more than a limping circle as the levels change and the tyre deflates completely.
CEASE
Wedginator 5.0 has his wedge in pieces. A Night At The Bar and PUMP go through.

Drilla Killa and SoR to meet in the Heat Final.
SoR through, the second match might actually be close but Ill go with the inevitable flow and say Drilla Killa.
SOR 5.5 vs. A Night At The Bar
Let A Night At The Bar kill itself off? :proud:
If it does work, then I shall be focusing on the wheels. If I can rip some of the rubber off the wheels then it should loose that all important balance and... well... kill itself off?
Welcome to the first written fight of Fowler Fic War Series 5 for a long time, where today we see our first second round battle between PUMP and Drilla Killa 7

Drilla Killa comes straight out and immediately charges at the bar of PUMP to try and prevent it getting up to speed. PUMP turns around in an attempt to stop it slowing down the disc but in doing so allows Drilla Killa 7 to get underneath him with the rear wedge, from where he immediately shunts him into one of the side wall angle grinders causing metal to meet metal and sending PUMP flying away in a shower of sparks, albeit with the knowledge that hes taken out the capability of one of the angle grinders.
Drilla Killa 7 refuses to hold off though and has turned around to slam into PUMP before the American machine has even stopped spinning around from the force of the shunt. Drilla Killa 7 gets underneath him once more with the wedge only this time pops the drill out of whole causing sparks, though not much more and lifting PUMP up so the slowly spinning blade slams into the wooden floor, jamming into it and lifting a few splinters up.
Drilla Killa 7 backs off giving both machines a chance to regroup however it immediately becomes clear that PUMP has got himself stuck on the arena floor. Drilla Killa 7 nudges him and theres a vast amount of wheelspin but no purchase. Drilla Killa 7 then comes around to the bar side as its not spinning and shunts him from that side, sending both machines ofer the now splintered part of the arena which looks an absolute mess. PUMP backs off to try and get the bar up to speed only to realise that the bar is no longer working. It later transpires that the splinters caused by the impact jammed into the mechanics of the bar preventing it from spinning.
Drilla Killa 7 realises that with no weapon to worry about and up against a robot with no pushing power of any great note that the fight is now his. PUMP seem to realise that too as they slump in the control booths waiting for their destiny. Drilla Killa 7 slams straight under the bar and gets the wedge underneath slamming them into the pit release button and nearly out of the arena the impact was that hard. PUMP just stays in though having landed just behind Drilla Killa 7 who immediately uses the back to start shunting them towards the sirening descending pit. PUMP try to back away at the last second but its too little too late as theyre not quick enough and Drilla Killa 7 sends PUMP down to the bottom of the pit of oblivion.
CEASE
PUMP ends up leaving all deflated... Drilla Killa 7 is through to the heat final.
