Mechanical Noise - Series 2
Id like to offer to team up with Terror Gear.
I think if the 2 of us pester the champ enough, we should between us be able to stop him gettign going, and I think if we could get rid of him itd make it a damn sight easier to win than if we had to fight him one on one. So Yes, Im willing to possibly act as fodder in the name of the underdog, hahaha.

Sky Blast vs Panicking (me) vs Cyclone Force 2.5
Im going to gang-up WITH Cyclone Force on Panicking, if its fine with Chris. My higher speed and ramming force might cause some damage to its aluminium armour
Problem is that it doesnt have aluminium armour. One of the main problems Sky Blast will face is its self. At 32mph it will be almost imposible to control. That it also appears to have 2mm ground clearance under the front as it doesnt say it is 0m and the only other given is 2mm at sides, but i will asume it is all the way round. That in mind i will keep my front to it and if it charges at me it should go up the front, so i will activate the forks and lift it up shove it down the pit, thats if it doesnt drive it self down the pit first.

Its 0mm at the front Martyn. And I know about the speed and control issues, and I say, Itll help me - you are the slowest in the fight, whichll help you in control, but youll have to catch me first before you can pit me.
You may not have aluminium armour, but I seem you read that you instead have Lexan. Even better.

Panickings armour is made of the same as the arena walls, and is over 1cm thick, so good luck doing significant damage to it with a flipper....

A very, very warm welcome to everyone who decided to join me in this second series of Mechanical Noise. It€™s very much appreciated that you all decided to go through the same struggles and upsets I put some of you through the first time I did this, you€™re all very, very patient people.
Either that or you€™re just plain crazy :proud:

Psyclonised (1): Andy here combines the invertible ring-spinner with the Son of Whyachi cage-spinner into an odd ring-cage-spinner. This proved to be successful enough to become the reigning Mechanical Noise Champion!
In MN1: Has beaten Slammer V, Wind Chaser, Cyberdemon, Flank Attack, Disco 5 and Black Panther Queen to become the reigning champ that he is!
Terror Gear 3: Tony here made a fast drumbot with a hinged wedge at the front, skirts at the sides and a twack at the rear.
In MN1: Did not compete.
B2B: Or Back 2 Basics, Matty here invented a very basic wedge-flipper. It combines good manoeuvrability with a very low wedge and a very decent flipper.

ACTIVATE!
Andy, Tony and Matty, pioneers of MN2, stand proudly in their private control-booths. You heard that right, no cheap €œ2 booths per 3 contestants€Â. I€™ve plundered my royal virtual bank-account to give my warriors the luxury they deserve. I love to serve :proud:. Tony can be seen looking for MOABIE, but he successfully avoided Aaron€™s creation, just like Tony promised to do. Psyclonised holds back to spin up his ring, like he did many a time in the previous series. Terror Gear and B2B have plans of their own and both rush towards the big champ! Terror Gear€™s speed proves to be of great help right there as Andy can do nothing but watch when his heavyweight is wedged by Tony€™s.
CLANG!
Whoa, even now Psyconised€™s hammer has enough energy stored inside to shove Terror Gear aside, but only slightly. Both spinning weapons are stalled and Terror Gear continues to shove Psyclo€™ towards the wall. B2B is closing in 2 and looking for a quick flip. Before this can happen though, Psyclonised wedged bot manages to get some traction, and the LEMbot slowly pushes Terror Gear away! That €œhuge€ 15 mm GC of Psyclonised proves to be a real advantage here! Psyclonised drives away now, speeding up that ring, and B2B still closes in! The wedgebot is practically underneath now AND FIRES THAT FLIPPER!
CRASH!
The flipper interferes with Psyclonised€™s not-yet-up-to-full-speed hammers and BOTH BOTS no make a 360, Psyclonised heavily toppling under the attack of the flipper. The two machines recover quickly, Matty to discover a nasty dent in the titanium plate he calls a €œflipper€Â. The weapon still nicely fits in the chassis though, no harm done there. Psyclonised is now reaching dangerous speeds when Terror Gear has another go. In comes the twackbot, and Psyclonised seems all too pleased to meet him!
CRASH!
Psyclonised clobbers the front-skirt before the drum can even come in, and to me it looks like one of the hinges CAME LOOSE THERE! Terror Gear bravely turns around to hit Psyclonised with its twack, which slows the champ down to some degree, but not completely! This does however, gives Tony some seconds to spin up his drum€¦ or so he thinks! The drum€™s stuck! Some shrapnel from the front skirt got stuck in the drive train right there! In comes B2B for another flip! The flipper gets underneath somewhat more effective this time, and throws Psyclonised up-and-over! But not before receiving another ugly dent by that still-not-stalled-damned-spinning-ring-cage!:proud: CLANG!
Psyclonised lands bravely on its inverted wheels, and backs off from his opponents. The dastardly duo gives chase, although Terror Gear doesn€™t move like he€™s supposed to move with his front wedge scraping along the ground. Andy€™s Giant is toppling heavily (and literally) under the pressure put before him today, but he€™ll be damned if he loses his first match in this brand-new tournament! He attacks the machine closest to him, the fast Terror Gear, with a quick attack at the side!
CRASH!
The attack looks impressive, delivering a dent to Tony€™s piece of machinery, but Andy€™s got other things to worry about. He rushes towards B2B now, Matty hoping to receive Tony€™s backup again. Matty comes in again with a dangerous flip!
CLANG!
Again the two weapons meet! Psyclonised topples up and over, and B2B€™s flipper takes more damage than it did in his previous attempts! As a matter of fact, the flipper does not go down smoothly anymore, and Matty€™s getting impatient with Tony now€¦ AS ARE THE JUDGES!!! Terror Gear hasn€™t moved since his last collision with Psyclonised, but it€™s only now that everyone takes notice of that€¦

Very impressive fight, Martijn. Nice and long, with plenty of good moments - if only my fights in E.O.T.R were as good!
If Chris says no to attacking Panicking with me, then Ill just attack either of the at random, mostly Cyclone Force, but still attack Panicking.
Once Im under, slam them into the side and flick - with my full-pressure FireStorm esque flipper on the wedge and the top plate, Ill score an OOTA no problem

Sky Blast vs Panicking vs Cyclone Force 2.5
Sky Blast: Paul here made a VERY fast and powerful 4WD wedge with front-hinged flipper. That high speed might prove to be a flaw, as does the lack of a front GC, a beginner€™s mistake from Paul€™s side.
In MN1: Did not compete.
Panicking: Martyn took the concept of RW S2 winner Panic Attack and turned it into an invertible and powerful robot. The armour is vulnerable to spinners, but they are nowhere to be found in this match :proud:.
In MN1: Has beaten Kali, with GeForce 4.0, to be beaten by Clawdius Decimus Murderous in the round 2.
Cyclone Force 2.5: Chris delivers us the first interchangeable robot of this tournament. With 5 effective set-ups and raw power that equals Storm 2, this is a dangerous machine.
Cyclone Force 2.5 will use the Storm 2-style lifter today.

ACTIVATE!
Three satisfied competitors start their engines and drive their machines away from the starting-square. What immediately becomes apparent is how all three robots use an above average speed to drive themselves around, especially Sky Blast who rushes towards Panicking 32 mph for a full frontal assault. The more controlled Panicking skid steers out of the way just in time to see his speedier nemesis crash into the arena-wall.
CLANG!
The entire wall can be seen resonating from this impact. Cyclone Force and Panicking in the meantime are in each other€™s reach and the two 6WD LEMbots seem to be in for a party. Panicking comes in first with its slightly superior acceleration and rams its forks underneath Cyclone Force€™s front-corner. Chris€™ interchangeable madness gets lifted up into the air and is in danger€¦ IF IT WASN€™T FOR SKY BLAST COMING IN ON PANICKING€™S REAR! Paul€™s wedge slides over the rear skirt but is stalled against Panicking€™s back, and from there pushes the deadly duo of LEMbots forwards and towards the arena wall!
CLANG!
Cyclone Force falls off Panicking€™s forks, inverted, and Sky Blast ends up on top of Panicking! Martyn smells blood and reverses his machine, hoping to get rid of his piggyback riding opponent like his inspirer Panic Attack has done so many times, in the pit! Panicking€™s control however is inferior to that of the late Panic Attack, and Sky Blast falls off. Enter Cyclone Force, who is far from helpless inverted. The interchangeable bot aims to ram Sky Blast€™s side now, and does so with great success! Sky Blast narrowly steers away before meeting the arena wall though, and immediately turns to Cyclone Force! Cyclone Force dodges the initial attack, and has another go! The inverted wedge touches Sky Blast€™s side again, but actually goes over it! Cyclone Force€™s front-GC is just too bloody when inverted :proud:. Sky Blast rushes forward and activates its flipper, literally THROWING Cyclone Force against the arena wall! Panicking in the meantime recovered from its previous confrontation with the arena-wall and slips its forks underneath Sky Blast€¦ and flips it up and over! Chris is quick to react with his machine, now flipped upside-up, and sees an inverted Sky Blast RIGHT IN LINE WITH THE PIT! The Storm 2-lookalike is already underneath Sky Blast when he even starts self-righting. The srimech loosens Cyclone Force€™s grip on Sky Blast, but the pit is so bloody close! TOO CLOSE!

12mm Polycarbonate eh? :proud: Well I seem to remember Typhoon 2 made some nice damage to the arena walls... It just so happens Psyclonised is over twice as powerful as Typhoon 2! Theres some nice forks and skirts to rip off as well so this should be a bit of fun hopefully.
For the other fight Ill go for B2B. Great to see Mechanical Noise back on the road again!

Erm, i am just gonna keep charging at Psyclonised to try and stop it getting near its top spinning speed, I really need to make sure I just stay on it, and try and get it down the pit as soon as possible. I can win this fight, it will be hard, i just need to keep psycloniseds speed down and aim it down the pit as soon as possible.

Psyclonised remains practically motionless when €œActivate€ is called, but Panicking rushes off for a quick start! Overwhelmed, Andy reverses his FBS, but not in time!
CLANG!
Panicking is slightly swept away by Psyclonised€™s ring, but does manage to activate those lifting forks anyway to leave Psyclonised on its side against the arena wall! Panicking backs off, and Psyclonised slowly slides off the wall and back on its feet, but Panicking comes in again!!! Psyclonised is squeezed between Panicking and the wall and ends up on Panicking€™s right. There, Andy quickly drives away from Panicking to finally get that weapon to do some work. Panicking turns towards Psyclonised, but those 6 wheels really slow it down! Psyclonised€™s ring is speeding up nicely and Panicking can€™t reach him fast enough€¦ Panicking aims for a ram, and Psyclonised aims for a spin!
CRASH!
The two machines meet head-on! Panicking smartly activates its forks upon colliding€¦ making Psyclonised wobble backwards, but that ain€™t nothing to what Psyclonised did to Panicking! Panicking€™s lifting forks are bend and torn beyond recognition! And seem to be unable to go down to the ground anymore! Psyclonised regains consciousness and has a go at Panicking again! Panicking drives away!
CRASH!
Psyclonised still nudges Panicking€™s front corner! And just check out that damage done to that polycarbonate! Panicking continues his path to retreat, but this path suddenly doesn€™t go as straight as it did :proud:. One of Panicking€™s front wheels€™ axles is bend! The MN1-champ looks as if he bloody well knows he had a slow start today, but this fight is turning into his favor. He comes in again on the very badly moving Panicking!
CRASH!!!
Same corner, more damage:proud:. That front wheel is now actually stuck AGAINST the wheel right behind it! With only one wheel left on one side, Panicking is driving circles rather than lines now€¦ WHAT DO THE JUDGES THINK OF THIS?

Today we meet two extremes in speed. Cyclone Force immediately heads towards B2B 25 mph while B2B is driving around at 8.5 mph. It€™s no miracle that both machines meet each other damn close to B2B€™s starting spot:proud:. Right there, Cyclone Force and B2B stand face-to-face to determine who of them will receive the right to fight reigning champ Psyclonised in this Heat Final! B2B puts his great acceleration to use and rams Cyclone Force€™s front corner! The interchangeable bot moves UP and OVER its nemesis, as if he was facing Storm 2 himself! At Back to Basic€™s back, Cyclone Force turns around, but so does B2B of course, who accelerates for another ram!
CLANG!
Yup, 2 rams in such close succession deserves a €œCLANG!€ in my book:proud:! Cyclone Force finds itself at B2B€™s backside again, but he does not walk in the same trap again. The Force drives away from B2B, who turns around and gives chase, but the speedy Cyclone Force is already beyond B2B€™s reach. The Storm 2ish machine turns around now and the two machines are again locked in a face-to-face stalemate. Both come in now€¦ but Cyclone€™s pincers reach B2B€™s armor first! The side titanium gives in slightly and Cyclone Force starts pushing B2B. The wedge flipper has a tiny foothold underneath Cyclone€™s front though and activates its flipper. As a result, the clutch of vapourbots moves up into the air as one before crashing back on the floor, where Cyclone can€™t hold B2B in its claws anymore! B2B roams free, but the scars left by his nemesis are clearly visible! B2B€™s position is still within Cyclone€™s reach, and B2B quickly drives underneath one of the claws and flips its opponent away! Cyclone Force goes up into the air and lands on its invertible back. B2B comes in for another ram as Cyclone comes in for one more pinch. The latter avoids the dangerous wedge opposing him in a last minute effort, and the wedge turns around. Cyclone Force has its claws around B2B€™s front side, and they start closing in! B2B is again stuck, and he again fires its flipper€¦ to no use! Cyclone Force starts what seems to be a path to the pit, and B2B numerous make little to no difference in this! Cyclone Force is holding B2B over the pit now, AND HE LETS GO!

Psyclonised (1) vs Cyclone Force 2.5 - Im going to side with Chris for this one for one simple reason - if he sticks with the claws he can grab and shove Psyclonised. If he uses the lifter, he can lift up Psyclonised and if he uses the disc, he can defend himself from Psyclonised.
Chances are Im wrong, but I mostly want Chris and not AJ to win.

Psyclonised (1) vs Cyclone Force 2.5
Well Cyclone Force is going to stand up to the punishment better than Panicking, but I still dont think 7mm Ti is enough to stop the wrath of Psyclonised. The multi-weapon choice means its hard to think of many tactics yet, but as with the previous match, which ever set-up is chosen it just gives me something to target and rip off. So Ill try not to make the same mistake as the last match and start by running around using my superior control and get the weapon fully spun up. A few blows at top speed is going to leave that titanium looking like a cheese grater! :proud: Hopefully the damage will be significant enough for me to head to the semi-finals.

I really doubt the claws will actually hold here, so Im going to use
the scoop option. It should take the knocks and as it and the
connection goes deep into the body, Psy shouldnt tear it out in one
blow, which he might do with the other weapons. Just keep ramming
before he can get up to speed, and eventually pit him.

With great control Andy moves his machine out of harms way to the right, where he thinks he can find all the spin-up time he needs to take on his interchangeable opponent. This opponent we speak of rushes towards aforementioned full body spinner with more speed but less control. Andy has had this tactic used against him all too often and learned from past mistakes, thereby dodging Cyclone€™s first attack. Chris isn€™t ready just yet though and has another go at Psyclonised, who€™s spinning up nicely. Cyclone Force turns around. Cyclone Force performs a good ram now!

CRASH!
Andy discovers that titanium IS in fact harder than polycarbonate when he€™s swung from Force€™s scoop to the arena wall. Chris in turn meets the honor of being slammed aside by a true champion€™s weapon. The joint between scoop and main body looks damaged but largely intact. Psyclonised comes back from the wall towards Cyclone Force, who aims his sturdy scoop towards the scary ring spinner. Cyclone Force approaches the spinner with great care and slowly moves his scoop against him.
CRASH!
The hammers pound away alongside the surface of the scoop, leaving a very, very wide dent! Also, Psyclonised is left dancing like a Mauler on steroids! The energy stored in those hammers makes Psyclonised go out of control right there. Luckily for Andy, Cyclone Force needs some time to recover, unlucky for Andy, Cyclone Force recovers faster than Psyclonised does :proud:. In comes that big scoop, dragging Psyclonised some distance before the latter gets his wheels back on the ground. Psyclonised drives towards the side of Cyclone Force, and has a rather successful go!
CRASH!
PSYCLONISED TEARS CYCLONE FORCE€™S SIDE OPEN! It€™s not a big tear, but it€™s a tear nonetheless :proud:. Chris isn€™t all too pleased with this, and is out on a certain scoop-involving revenge. Cyclone Force turns around like a raging bull and rushes at Psyclonised. Psyclonised positions himself€¦
CRASH!
Another tear is made, now at the bucket scoop itself! This absorbed some energy though and Cyclone Force keeps a sturdy grip on Psyclonised, who€™s spinning rather slowly now€¦

Psyclonised slams into the wall and on top of Cyclone Force, what a great hit by Chris! Andy€™s champion ends up behind Cyclone Force, where it€™s spinning up again, when Cyclone Force turns around

Slammers top/bottom armour looks susceptible to Axe-O-Lotls weapon, but Im pretty sure Slammer will come through. Discos going through no matter what. Axe-O-Lotl out.
Axeon 2.0 vs NSBFR-X vs Shovearound 2
Well aint this just purdy? Shovearound is fresh off of a tournament victory, so hell go through. The other two Im not too sure about. NSBFR-X has interchangeable weaponry but Axeons axe is pretty powerful. Eh, I think Ill take Axeon to go out here.

Ill use the drum weapon, A) for invertibility, and B) for pushing/flipping goodness. Go for the sides of Axeon since he can only hit me from the front. I dont think the axe will damage me, but no sense taking chances.

Oooh that was a close one! Congratulations to Martijn for writing a great fight and Chris for putting up such a good fight. I hoped to get the champ into the semis at least, so Im happy with that now.
Axeon 2.0 vs NSBFR-X vs Shovearound 2
However I dont think I stand a chance of winning this heat. None the less, punching holes in NSBFR-Xs 5mm Ti shouldnt be a problem so that will be my main aim for this match. Im willing to team up with Tony aswell if he wishes to. For the other match in this heat of death, Ill pick Disco 5 and Slammer V to go through.

Disco 5 (3) vs Axe-O-Lotl vs Slammer V
Disco 5 (3): Martyn designed what many see as the best front-hinged flipper in the game! And with that vertical flywheel and those sprung skirts, who am I to tell them wrong?
In MN1: Has beaten Omniforce, Whirligig 4.0, Going Crunch and Clawdius Decimus Murderous, to lose against Psyclonised in the finals. Disco 5 then beat Wedge Devolution to claim 3rd place!
Axe-O-Lotl: Chris made himself a fair axebot. Axe-O-Lotl combines the weapon of Dominator 2 with the force of Storm 2. But how will that aluminium armour stand up?
In MN1: Has beaten Malaria with some help from Wind Chaser, but met its maker after being annihilated by Cyberdemon.
Slammer V: Alex (Holt) was inventive as ever when he invented Slammer. This axlebot has flippers both on top and at the bottom so it can drive around with great agility. Also, it has interchangeable weaponry, yeah!
Slammer V will use the vertical disc today.
In MN1: Had bad luck in its 1st round fight against Psyclonised and Cyberdemon, after a judge decision based on damage.
Also, Slammer V won MN1s most original design-award.

ACTIVATE!
Two LEM€™s geared towards 20 mph makes for a quick start, as Chris kindly shows by accelerating his beloved Axe-O-Lotl. The machine seemingly goes after Slammer, who responds with a quick self-flip when Axe-O-Lotl€™s axe falls down!
CLANG!
The axe hits the metal floor and Slammer narrowly dodges it! Chris pulls back his weapon and Slammer goes for another flip€¦ and that disc is spinning nicely too! (it€™s only 40 cm. wide y€™know :proud:)
CRASH!
The disc weapon twacks down on top of Axe-O-Lotl€™s titanium! A might crater is seen on top of the axebot, and what a turbulent match this tuns out to be! And we haven€™t even seen 3rd seed Disco yet! Axe-O-Lotl fires its axe to get rid of Slammer on top of it, and Slammer steers out of the fray€¦ AND DISCO COMES IN! Axe-O-Lotl turns around to face the praised vertical disc weapon€¦ and fires its axe!
CLANG!
The weapon pierces our current bronze medallist on top of its wedge, the shaft being right beside that dangerous flywheel. Axe-O-Lotl uses its superior drive and starts pushing Disco 5 forward, but the axe-joint between these two heavyweights makes it impossible to do so in a straight line€¦ and the shaft interferes with the disc€¦ BLAM! The shaft is sturdy enough to withstand the blow, but the axe as a whole is swept away from Disco€™s body nonetheless! And that shaft DOES look bend mate! In the meantime, Slammer was sneaking in from behind. Disco accelerates forward and hits Axe-O-Lotl with its disc.
CRASH!
A big chunk of aluminium flies off the axebot€™s wedge, and the machine is swept away€¦ CLEARING DISCO€™S WAY TO SLAMMER!
CRASH!
The axlebot flies around as a small football, but Disco receives a good hit from Slammer€™s flywheel as well! One of Slammer€™s bars is broken, and Axe-O-Lotl comes in on Disco again!
CLANG!
Another hole is made on top of Disco. The wedgebot swiftly activates its flipper in order to get rid of that axe on top€¦ and succeeds. Disco comes in wedge-first now, and gets underneath Axe-O-Lotl!
FLIP!
Axe-O-Lotl is turned upside-down, and before it can activate its srimech, Slammer comes by to say hi! In it comes, driving backwards€¦
CRASH!
Slammer actually SLAMMED itself ON TOP of Axe-O-Lotl using one of its self-flippers! AND CO2 IS SEEN ESCAPING! SLAMMER HAS HIT AXE-O-LOTL€™s CO2-SUPPLY, AND THEREBY ITS ONLY CHANCE TO SELF-RIGHT!
