Well thats where Im going so I hope it right.
yes sir :)
the post code i gave is for the small inductrial estate just to the right (scroll right a bit)
ill get the postcode of the sports centre today.
Its a fairly big hall, with pits in a seperate room. There is an upstairs area with glass wall if you want a quiet break, but still see the show.
Do we have many wanting to go out? if so, where are you staying, ill suggest somewhere based on your location on sat night. The kazanah indian by the wrexham traveodge is good, and wrexham town centre is a mile away from the travelodge. The wynstay is bang in the town centre. Mold has a few nice pubs, and plces to eat. I just need an idea of where everyone is staying.
I wont be with you once the show ends on saturday unfortunatly, Ill need the rest, but Im sure some locals from the show staff will be there to offer local advice.
jason and i will be at the travel lodge :) the indian sounds like a champion idea to me. mabee have a roboteers uk curry championship :)
damn! another uk championship im going to miss...
and i fancied my chances of winning that one. :)
you not going to robot uk championship james?
Its too far for him to travel LOL!
Mr Stu
oh yes i am!
I missed the 2006 one because of the baby being due (and she was late!! I could have been there after all) so 2007, in my homeland.... watch out!
Better put me on your tip list Shane. :)
There is only one UK curry eating champ, enter Dave Lang.
swanny where you staying ??????????
text me . dude ......... pete
MMMMMMMMMMM curry .... no jackie MMMMMMM curry :):) yay
hi guys
postcode for the venue is CH7 1HS
there is a big carpark, with good access to get robots in.
the previously mentioned party had too few takers, so its up to you guys to entertain yourselves on the saturday night.... im sure youll be fine.
Important notice....
The competition part of the event will be a friendly competition. Damage will not be marked in the scoring, but otherwse its all out.
Last show saturday and both shows sunday will be competition with whiteboards for robots out of the competition. the 2 shows on saturday morning will be whiteboard and practice shows.
cheers
pete we are stopping at the travel lodge near mold/wrexham. think there is only 1 there mate so you cant go wrong. :)
i think you are at the one just off the A483 on the Rhostyllen/Johnstown turn off.
Its got a few pubs within 5 minutes walk, town is a 5 minute cab ride away, there is a nice Indian half a mile away, and our favorite chinese 5 minute walk.
Having just looked at the map, and realising that getting from the Travelodge at Chester Northop Hall to the venue seems to be a b!@tch of a journey (cant see any direct roads - all seem to involve going round in loops :)) were now booked in at the Wrexham Travelodge too - couldnt miss the chance to watch this curry malarky either :proud:
oh dear....
ill inform the local residents....
beware of large numbers of curried up roboteers on saturday night...
(where can i get biohazard signs?):)
update to heavies list
there are no carrots coming, killer or otherwise
I HATE PUBLIC TRANSPORT !
Just checked out various ways of getting to Wrexam as its closest, and its a 4hr trip AT LEAST, plus I have to go through Birmingham New Street, which, for anyone who doesnt know, is the 2nd biggest station in the UK, so I dont wanna go there if I can help it. Ill try and arrange other methods of getting there (not buses - 7hrs journey time !).
If anyone can help with my transport trouble Id be eternally greatful
Oh, and Im up for a pi$$ up after the event :) Not much of a curry fan though...
chester is often easier to get to, and is 20 minutes down the road by car. if you can get there im sure someone can help you out, or worst case there is a bus wrexham/chester every 15 minutes.
New Street is not so bad :) i quite like it actually, its much better than Crewe... talk about dull!! :)
keep me informed please Dave, I know how difficult it was for me getting from here to Fairford and Brize Norton on the train, so I can relate.

Id be more worried about the smell in the pits on the Sunday as a result of flatulent, curry-feulled roboteers
good point.
Ill inform the HSE (health and safety exexutive)
i can see some sort of championship coming along involving currys and lighters :) LOL
Yea and James dont forget to inform the Fire Brigade
Sorry Shane, flame throwers are banned under FRA build rules!!
(Come to think of it, methane isnt on the list of approved gasses either!!)
but hot air is essential as most roboteers are full of it.....
sorry, couldnt resist :)
ok dave so where is carterton??????????????
by brize norton/fairford, i seem to recall
exactly. I can chuck a tennis ball out my window and land it inside RAF Brize Norton. Carterton is in Oxfordshire.
Also, I need a post code in case no one can pick me up from Chester/Wrexam
Confirmation from Matt Davey. The team will be attending with Mayhem and Tuf Luck (both feathers)
James, add Pain In The Asp, Small Torque, Batterbot & Dantomkia to your list too!
always good to see dtk at events. :)
cheers guys.
All very much appreciated.
James, I need either a post code for the venue or someone to pick me up from chester so I can get to Mold and find my way to the venue, because, with less than a week to go, I dunno where in Mold it is!
CH7 1HS is the venue postcode
I would offer a lift but at the moment I dont know which car were taking (Im only insured to drive my dads but the other cars got more boot space so I dunno which one were taking yet) Well have decided by Thursday though (trial and error process involving piling all the stuff into my dads car, and if theres still space for us, then well take it :)) so if youve not got transport by then, chuck a lil post up here or something and Ill see what we can do
Oh and James, I must apologise as I forgot to sort out our FRA membership sooner due to trying to get the bots ready in time! It got mailed today though - will this be a problem come event time or will it be ok as long as weve applied for it?
Thanks,
Jamie

see http://www.xbotz.comwww.xbotz.com contacts page for my current number.

cheers
Thanks James,
Yep, Andy or I will deal with any new memberships on the day. (just bring your cheque book!!)
Yeah dont bring cash, it goes in geoffs back pocket. LOL!
James ill be there for the first 2 shows on saturday, but will not be there on the 3rd show nor sunday, as im away on Sunday at a theme park with mates.
Mr Stu
Ahh, wasnt 100% sure whether you could apply on the day (also didnt want to risk holding anything up by trying to apply on the day) Turns out my dad posted it on Monday night which I think missed the last night pick-up time, so its got lifted today, hopefully be at FRA headquarters tomorrow (Thursday at the very latest)
ok, Stu, cheers for letting me know.
