The Crash & Burn Tournament

Zzzz...huh? Whowhatwhenwherewhyhow? Oops, sorry. Here we go with the next battle of this tournament! :proud:

SLAYING MANTIS F is the champion of the KFFT original tournament in those days, with his uniqge wedge design and skirts, and his Razer-like claw. This time its got a wire-cutting attachment to the claw. Its fighting...

WEDGA REVO 2.0, who is a cut-off wedge like Steg 2, but the flipping arm is at the back, and is attached to a scoop at the front. It also has Biohazard-like skirts to prevent being gotten under. Its also got a very low 15cm height.

And Wedga starts off first at a flying start, immediately getting under the Mantis and inverting it with its scoop. The Mantis tries to self-right but being that slow, Wedga turns around, gets under the Mantis from the rear and attempts an OOTA. Fact is, he was too close to the wall, and the Mantis bounces off the railing and lands in front of Wedga, right-side-up. Wedga goes forward, hoping to get under the front wedge of Slaying Mantis, but the Mantis denies this as he gets under Wedga and slams him into the arena wall! Now Alex is trying to position Slaying Mantis to have a precise point where the wire cutter can sink into Wedgas joints, but no such luck. Evidently, the Mantis gives up and decides to grapple Wedga, hitting the armour of Wedga and not really doing anything, but hes got him now! Wedga fires the rear flipping arm, but nothing happens. The Mantis drags Wedga over to the pit release, and opens the pit, but suddenly Refbot intervenes and shunts Slaying Mantis, which means Let him go or Ill disqualify you! The Mantis grudgingly releases Wedga, and Wedga reverses away, turns around, and comes at him with the flipping arm. Unfortunately, the Mantis gets under Wedga again, and begins to clamp down. Wedga, however, has other plans, and he rolls away before the Mantis can sink down the claw. Alex is enraged, as Slaying Mantis raises the claw and chases Wedga around the arena. Wedga rams the spinner button, activating the spinning in the middle of the arena, but a fat lot of good thatll do, hmm? Not really, when it rises off the ground and acts like a disc! But no need, for Wedga collides with Slaying Mantis and brings the Mantis towards the angle grinder, which happens to be a much more powerful disc and SLICE!!! Sparks fly as the Mantis spins away, a scratch made in the armour of Slaying Mantis. Wedga again gets under Slaying Mantis, this time from the rear, and with another POP!, the Mantis is inverted again! Only this time, hes sent flying across the arena! :proud: Wedga chases the stranded Mantis and tosses him again before he can right himself, resulting in the Mantis getting trapped upside-down with the claw in the srimech position! Slaying Mantis tries to use the claw but it only pushes the claw into the arena floor! Ouch! Wedga has had enough of this and so rams Slaying Mantis, freeing Alexs crusher but also righting him. The Mantis responds by ramming Wedga into the wall. Wedga turns backwards and tosses the Mantis yet again with the flipping arm...oh no, it looks like Slaying Mantis cant right himself! That ram from Wedga as Slaying Mantis claw was in the floor yanked it in a violent manner, and rendered it immobile! Yet Wedga gives the Mantis another chance by flipping him again. The Mantis does a 540 and lands back on his wheels, getting under Wedgas front and despite not being able to use the claw rams Andys wedge against the wall. Wedga tries to get away but is pinned. Refbot comes by and seperates them again. Poor old Slaying Mantis isnt doing so well now, as Wedga comes in, but rides into the side of the Mantis and pushes him into the wall. The Mantis cant turn, but Wedga releases him fairly quickly.

Wedga comes in with another ram, and actually does get under Slaying Mantis again and tosses him across the arena.

The Mantis bounces into Dead Metals CPZ, and Dead Metal comes out, grabs him, and begins sawing away.

What a match! It seems Mantis broke down a little, but lets go to the judges anyway and see how the fight breaks down!

THE CRASHING BORE is here, with his Hexadecimator shape, rear wdedge/spikes, and front weaponry, which consists of a Mousetrap-style blade, jagged for more damage, and Etek powered. Added to this is a diamond-tipped industrial drill that comes out of the front wedge, used for cutting through€¦anything! The Crashing Bore is taking on one of the most revered vapourbots ever€¦

MASS DISCTRUCTION ULTIMATE 3! Look out, for this Satanic full body spinner that is similar to Cyclonebot in many ways. In fact, it is both a FBS and a translational ring spinner, with 9 hardox-tipped teeth to rip through opponent and a 480mph spinning speed. Geared to torque, and invertible, this robot has won the PTT3 and PTT4, and so must be fought only if the opponent can find a weakness, if at all. :wink:

W00h00, were startin this thing! :proud: MDU is already spinning up, and TCB flies at him trying to stop the spinning motion, but -
CRASH!!!
WHOA! LOOK AT MDU FLY! The FBS flung himself into the air, about 4 feet! And TCB has been belted across the box, yet unbelievably has taken little to no damage from the hit! This is most puzzling, as TCB comes back for another hit, as MDU lands, and getting under MDU before it has a chance to even START spinning, rams him against the wall and starts hacking away, also using the drill! MDU struggles, but to no avail; eventually, Refbot rams TCB€¦which was not a good idea, since TCB releases MDU and starts chasing Refbot around! Heheeh€¦and MDU is getting spinning again, however not completely up to speed€¦yes, hes there now. TCB, however, is paying little attention as he chases Refbot around. He finally stops chasing Refbot€¦AND ATTACKS GROWLER! That does it, as Cassius Chrome comes flying out and is absolutely CREAMED by MDU as he strolls by. The result is utter destruction as the 250kg house robot gets his scoops ripped clean off and with a clang falls over, dead! Oh€¦my€¦godforsaken eyes€¦TCB continues to attack Growler. Then he gets a strange idea and shoves Growler right into MDU, who is back up to -
CRASH!
speed - OH GOD!!! Growler is now left without the left side of his skin! By my mothers false teeth, what kind of unholy terror is among us in this arena?! But Growler is not dislodged from TCB, as Frank shows an evil grin and chases down MDU, who bounced away on the hit, and shoves Growler into him ag -
CRASH!
-ain - WHOA AGAIN! MDUS SPIKES ARE LODGED INSIDE OF GROWLER!!! The audience is in utter disbelief, as Mentrons beloved house robot Growler is taking such abuse, now with the insides in clear view€¦and MDU is stuck! Not moving! TCB releases Growler€¦who bolts away, with MDU still stuck on him! Oh my€¦this is turning out to be quite the match! TCB rushes MDU again, and slams the blade down, causing some damage in the top. Growler turns and shoves MDU into TCB. That releases MDU from Growler, and Aaron frantically tries to get MDU away, who is not spinning, but TCB catches up and slams him into the wall. MDU rolls along the arena wall, falls back down, and gets spinning again! With a horrible jolt Frank controls TCB towards MDU, and the FBS is about to get it -
CRASH!!!
HOLY FLYING F€¦F€¦ah screw it, but TCB is now left without his blade, which is now about 7 feet away from him!!! MDU, however, has been thrown for a loop, and is now again not spinning. However, it seems that his job is done, for TCB is now wobbling across the arena feebly. The shell finally starts spinning again, and MDU advances on his opponent.
CRASH!!!
AND AGAIN!!! This time, the left side of TCB takes the hit, and TCB is thrown into the wall, his left side exposed completely! MDU bounces away again, with the shell getting back to speed again, and charges his opponent once more, who is almost dead -
CRASH!!!
I CANT BELIEVE WHAT IM SEEING!!! MDU HAS JUST TORN UP THE INSIDES OF TCB, AND MOTORS AND MECHANICALS LAY STREWN ACROSS THE ARENA!!! Thats gotta be it!!! And yes, the smoking remains of TCB€¦oh dear. Refbot doesnt even decide to count TCB, out knowing full well that no robot can drive without its motors€¦ :proud:

Time for our next battle!

VAMPIRE KILLER is a robot with a rear plow, side skirts, 12mm titanium armour, and two very powerful horizontal discs on the front. One is one the top, like Surgeon General, and the other is on the bottom. (like his opponent)

METAL SONIC SPIN DASH is a low skirted box with a front wedge and sloped sides. It has two weapons; a vertical Pussycat-style cutting blade at the front, and a CO2 arm on the top, though this is mainly used to right itself.

Roboteers, stand by...

The house robots are Shunt & Matilda.

Ha! Were off! And MSSD is flying at Vampire Killer with the speed of...16mph. :proud: But Vampire Killer has a speed of 23mph and they meet early on! And CRASH! what a hit! The blow sent Vampire Killer spinning away! MSSD makes the most of the blow and advances on Vampire Killer, but Tony backs away and allows MSSD to come near, while spinning his discs up. MSSD sees this and backs away, whilst Vampire Killer waits. Inevitably, MSSD comes back rams Vampire Killer head on!
CRASH!!!
HOLY FLYING METAL BATMAN! The vertical sawblade of MSSD has gone flying off, landing with a clatter next to Shunts CPZ! All of a sudden, things have turned for the worse here as Vampire Killer advances on MSSD, who is caught up, and the rear of MSSD takes a huge hit and the panel goes flying off! Steve aint looking too good in the control booth...Vampire Killer advances yet again, yet cheekily perhaps because he doesnt have the discs up to speed, and MSSD capitalizes on this, rushing Vampire Killer and getting under him with the wedge. Vampire Killer is thrown on top of MSSD, and the arm comes out and inverts Tonys killer. However, he is invertible, so it matters not...I think. And Vampire Killers discs have already spun right back up! MSSD backs away yet again as Vampire Killer advances; unfortunately for MSSD, Vampire Killer catches him yet again, and the front wedge is gashed up by the discs. Not looking too good for Steve-O...Vampire Killer again advances and shores off the side skirt, which spins MSSD around, and Vampire Killer is able to destroy the other skirt! MSSD, however, once again gets under Vampire Killer and throws him against the wall, and into Matildas CPZ! Matilda is all too happy to see a chew-toy in front of her, and the vertical flywheel starts making happy noises as the 12mm titanium armour of Vampire Killer is smashed, and the rear plow is bent! MSSD shoves him further into the CPZ, and Shunt flies in, under MSSD, and sticks the axe in, whilst Vampire Killer escapes the...oh no, MSSD has doomed himself by trying to doom Vampire Killer! And Matilda gets her flywheel back up to speed and smashes the front of MSSD, and the panel goes flying off! Vampire Killer looks on, and then gets a silly idea and attacks Shunt! The house robot has only time to turn about 5 degrees before the twin discs rip into his side and rip the plow off of one side! Matilda does not see this, as she currently has MSSD by the tusks, but Vampire Killer makes his presence known by cutting into Matildas side! The body armour goes away like *snaps fingers* that! All of a sudden, the house robots finish toying with MSSD and attack Vampire Killer with the utmost fury, but Vampire Killer has the discs back up to speed and aiming for Matildas own flywheel -
CRASH!!!
OH DEAR ME! Look at the sparks - Vampire Killer has stopped moving! The heavy blow has just sent Matilda flying, but now Vampire Killer is starting to smoke! Something inside must have snapped when the discs collided! Oh dear! And Shunt opens the pit, but its MSSD who shoves the Vampire Killer down the hole! A very lucky break for Steve, who grins omniously.

ORKAS TACTICS

-Ignore MSSD to start with and go straight for a decent House Robot (Shunt, Sgt Bash, Dead Metal and Cassius Chrome are decent, Growler, Matilda, Sir Killalot and Mr Psycho are not).
-If one isnt available, go for Refbot.
-If I can dispose of that House Robot, attack the other one, but once again only if its decent.
-If it isnt, attack Refbot.
-Once Ive disposed of both (decent) House Robots, attack Refbot anyway.
-If all this doesnt put MSSD off, try to keep front on for as much as possible, so hopefully the scoops cancel each other out.

I think thats about it.

I sort of have a strategy, but it basically involves box rushing it and hoping for the best. If I can get under long enough to flip it, that would probably help too. And then there is also the tactic of luring it into doing some dumpster diving in the pit. :proud:

You know, I would have to be really stupid to attack the house robots when I was an inch away from victory. I didnt even put in my tactics that I was going to attack the house robots period, and I did post them. If you didnt see them, you really should have contacted me. You have my MSN.
Im not angry in the slightest, and Im not asking for a rewrite. Im only saying that I feel cheated out of a win, and I should point this out so it wont happen again, as it seems unfair to me, not at all because Im taking the hit from it.
Before anybody snaps at me for saying theyve lost to the house robots lots of times: Thats diffrent. The house robots werent preying on another bot, and your robot didnt stupidly attack them to get their attention, leaving the enemy alive and then they start killing you. And if something like that happened, then you proboblay put attack the house robots in your tactics.
Once again, Im not mad and Im not asking for a rewrite. Im only asking that you try not to make this mistake again. You really are an excellent writer and Im looking forward to the rest of it.

Go for whichever House Robot that Chris leaves alone and attempt a Pitting. :proud: After which, try to outmanouevre Orka, slip under the sides and head straight for the Pit with it as well.

Ummm.... One little detail.... MDU3 doesnt have a rotating shell :rofl: The whole robot is the weapon... Picture for all those who havent seen it in a long time... (I only recently recovered the CAD file too :lame:)

A bit of bad news, Im afraid. :sad:

Due to the heavy amount of schoolwork before me, and the exams in June, I will be forced to abandon the forum until July. This means that this tournament is postponed until further notice. I apologize for any inconveniences I have committed. I know that some of you will also be taking time off for this (or a similar) reason.

All right, this is the end to my long absence from the FRA! Its time to get it on again!

Wedga Revo 2.0 opened a can of insectide on Slaying Mantis F before whooping his arse in a judges decision.

Mass Disctruction Ultimate 3 absolutely destroyed The Crashing Bore to get here, and hes metal-hungry.

The house bots gorging in the arena will be Cassius Chrome and Growler.

And its on! Mass Disctruction Ultimate revs up immediately, and Wedga rushes before HE gets a bigger rush.
CRASH!!!
And the inevitable collision between these bad boys is smaller than we imagined, but nonetheless powerful as Wedga is forced into a pirouette and MDU is tilted slightly, but thats all it takes for the big spinner to lose control, and MDU rips off Son of Whyachis spinning spectacle, bouncing, bouncing...wham! And MDU has landed upside-down, still mobile and deadly, but slower. Wedga seems to have recovered from that hit and charges down MDU again. MDU cant get back up to speed and is thrown up onto the wedge and over. Wedga reverses, and Aarons destructobot gets a face full of scoop as Andy carefully maneouvers his bot around. Wishing to rid himself of his own destruction quickly, Wedga slowly turns around and makes for the pit button. Aaron is sweating up a storm as he attempts to dislodge MDU from the Wedga of doom. :proud: No avail. Wedga rams into the button and turns again to deliver MDU to its resting place...or does he? Suddenly, Growler burns rubber as he charges out into the open, headbutting Wedga (like Zinedine Zidane :proud:) into the side, and that dislodges MDU. But Growler has other plans! Wanting to avenge himself for his humiliation during the last MDU fight, he rams MDU into the side wall, opens the chompers and viciously clamps down on the triangular-shaped bot. Oh this does *NOT* look good for MDU...Wedga seems to take this as an insult and rams Growler back with the front wedge, catching the attention of Cassius Chrome. As CC comes forward to confront Wedga, Growler gets an idea and starts to rotate back and forth, slamming MDU against the wall repeatedly. Then he releases MDU, who is finally able to spin up again, but Wedga seeing what is about to happen rams MDU again with the scoop. Again, not as powerful, but still violent as Wedga gets thrown for a loop across the arena. MDU is also thrown for a loop but quickly recovers and heads towards Wedga again. Now Wedga decides to take a leaf out of The Crashing Bores book and gets under Cassius Chrome. Joining Growler in the previous MDU fight, CC does not want a repeat of that episode and reverses off of Wedga. He frantically struggles to move off to the side, but MDU gets there too quickly. Again.
CRASH!!!
Well! What a mark that left! CC is...well...indescribably hammered, and not much is left of him after that hit. Probably looks like itll be his second trip to the fix-it room. :proud: Anyway Growler now has clamped down on MDU to prevent any mechanical noise from him, and Wedga, who has been dormant since CC took that hit, now is off to the races, getting under Growler and trying to flip him OOTA. Growler releases MDU and Wedga immediately shovels him onto the wedge. Lining him up, he finishes what he started, and MDU is now dumped into the pit of oblivion.

Yeah but youre a n00b. My thread is exciting and something that everybody likes, plus it gives lots of detailed information, PLUS its on topic. Yours is just complete and utter ridiculousness. If you cant see the difference then you need to get your eyes checked. =P

Oh, and Shane, you know what? Dont insult other peoples threads when they have a much better understanding of the FRA Forum than you. I have the right to criticize your thread on the General Board because it pertains nothing to robot combat, and on top of that youre also post-spamming. Oh, and if youre going to complain that I have more posts than you, I havent been on the forum for a while, and besides most of my posts (since March 06) are more intelligent than any of yours that Ive seen. Metal Sonic Spin Dash won a controversial KO against Vampire Killer, where VK mistakingly attacked the house bots when he was an inch from victory.

Orka MK4 took out La Machine fairly quickly to advance.

Its Orka MK4, who dashes out to Steves bot and the two collide with a great BANG in the middle of the arena. The scoop of Orka greets Spin Dashs cutting blade and turns it aside. Spin Dash is thrown aside and Orka seizes his chance perfectly, getting the scoop under Spin Dash and coming down with the trapping device. Uh-oh, I think things just took a turn for the worse for Spin Dash. As Spin Dash is lifted up into the air by the scoop and arm, much like food tongs :proud:, Orka wheels around slightly to line himself up with the pit release and reverses right into it. It comes flying off! :proud: Orka moves to the slowly-descending pit, and lowers Spin Dash. Unfortunately, Orka went too far, and Spin Dash is now hovering over the opposite edge of the pit! Orka reverses quickly, and pulls Spin Dash into the hellish hole, but the force of Spin Dash on Orka scoop tips Orka into the pit with him! Too bad, house bots! It looks like youre going to have to wait until next fight!

ok dont want this to sound harsh kody but grow up. its not s case of whos been on longer or how many posts someones made and if you actually check shanes been on the forum since 2003 and you 2006 i think shane has a general idea of the rules by now mate, thats ended that one. General chatter can be about anything free texts has nothing to do with robots but wwe can post it birthdays is nothing to do with robots but we do it. sorry to invade your thread!

Its Orka again, charging out towards Wedga, who has the same game plan and they collide with a bang. Wedga gets the wedge under Orkas scoop and uses his excellent speed to ram Orka full force against the angle grinder! Orka is span off and tips off of Andys wedge. AJ calculates exactly where Orka would land, and Wedga gets his own scoop under and sends him for a loop! Orka lands right side up and frantically drives away, Wedga on his tail. It seems like quite a one-sided fight right now. Orka narrowly avoids a flip from Wedga and turns around with his own scoop. Wedga continues his charge and again we hear a tremendous bang as they collide. This time its Orka who gets under Wedga and WHOOSH! Inverted bot! Wedga, though invertible, flips himself over anyway with his own scoop, but Orka is too fast and gets his scoop under Wedga and flips again. Wedga finds himself riding the side wall and just manages to keep himself right-side-up. Orka drives diagonally into Wedgas side and bounces off him, missing an axe blow intended with the arm. Wedga reverses, grinding his rear into the wall as he does so. Orka rams Wedga again, missing the side and getting the wedge instead, but gets under Wedga anyway and lifts him into the grinder. Now weve got Wedga balanced on his arse and Orka just whacking him with the arm, which is rather ineffective as an axe but scoring points for the judges anyway. Uh oh! House robots are coming! It seems that theyre very bored, and now are disobeying the Refbot and attacking Orka! Orka away, just barely there, and Wedga finally gets on his wheels, but is trapped by the housies! Orka makes his way to the pit release, and activates the pit, which descends over on Killalots left. Ooh, Orka nearly puts himself in, whatre you doing, Orka?! :proud: All of a sudden...oh dear, Killalot getting attacked from the side by Orka, now the back, and oh goodness gracious me, Wedga getting hailed on by hammer blows from Psycho...Killalot backs into Orka and Orka nearly falling into the pit again - OOH HAH HA HA HA HA HA!!! Oh dear me, Killalot threw himself in the pit! :proud: Trying to crush his enemy into the pit, perhaps, but he missed his mark! Now weve only got Mr. Psycho taking on Wedga, but Wedga seems to be immobilized! And no doubt from all that abuse, from that...hammer, from Psycho. Now its Orka, who is flipping Wedga and thats it! Its over! Wedga is gone, hes left the arena! Ooh, and now Psycho wants some revenge on Orka, who nearly escapes a hammer blow, ooh, I think Killalots in pain from landing in the pit, those red eyes gleam a little too brightly...

First post in several months to say good fights, and StarStorm will just keep flipping Gravity around and hopefully OOTA. If memory serves, Starstorm was the one with lower-able skirts, so Gravity shouldnt get under

Basic outmanouvering tactics as usual. Keep to the sides and try to get a hold of those big meaty wheels. Either that or that slide under from the rear (hopefully, getting those wheels off the ground), grapple for dear life and dump in the nearest bottomless hole.

Sorry, everybody, I was away sick for the past few days (err, started Monday evening :lame:), but Im back now, and ready to kick this off again!

Clawdius Decimus Murderous is a Scotbot with the heart of a dragon! It has a Firestorm blade and two prongs to help opponents get onto its wedge, where they will be greeted by a huge hydraulic crusher that will lay them in a world of hurt. It can also right itself. Oh, and it flies the Sctoland flag like the rest of the team. :proud:

Gigabyte Evilution comes to the C&BT with a roar. Being almost a complete TAN clone, it can crush its opponent with those huge pincers, and anybody, even MDU, will be hard to it to break him with his Hardox armour. However, the exposed wheels might spell doom for this mighty beast.

Roboteers, stand by...

CRUSH! :proud: Its Gigabyte who rams Clawdius from the front, but Clawdius drives forward into Gigabyte and now both competitors are trying to sink their sadistic teeth into each other! Its like their stuck together...like a boxing match. :proud: Well...it seems that Gigabyte isnt actually crunching into anything but air, and Clawdius appears unable to even scratch Gigabytes extremely tough armour. Ooh, thisll be very interesting...Clawdius finally comes to his senses and decides that, for this fight to end, hed better pit Gigabyte before Gigabyte actually does manage to crunch into him, or before the reverse happens. As Clawdius carries Gigabyte over to the pit release, Gigabyte seems to realize what is happening, because he suddenly opens the pincers and scuttles away! Clawdius doesnt bother chasing him down, and so opens the pit release anyway, the siren sounds, and you know what that means! :wink: Anyway Steven is applying his tactics now, trying to get Clawdius to outmanouver Gigabyte to get at the sides and rear, but AJ knows Steven too well to be fooled...or does he? :uhoh: Gigabyte backs away now, and sits right near the pit, and stops. Clawdius cant seem to get around those giant metal-carving chompers! AJ seems pleased at this fact, and his robot seems equally relaxed. If Gigabyte had a mouth, it wouldve been smiling at the frustration of Steven as he cant get to his goal. But wait! Clawdius seems to have given this up and rams Gigabyte head-on again! Right into Shunts CPZ! Shunt answers this with a thwack to Gigabytes rear, nearly missing a tire, and due to that the blow glances off. Growler comes flying out and rams Clawdius from the rear, but owing to the rear wedge, Growler is flung upwards a bit. Clawdius turns around, heaving Gigabyte away as he does so, and sweeps up the house doggy from the front. Gigabyte spin around and nicks Shunts scoop with one of his claws, aggravating Shunt even more. Shunt responds with another thwack, but Gigabytes armour withstands the blow. Then Shunt realizes that Gigabyte is in perfect line with the pit. Shunt bores forward at full speed, with every intention of burying that TAN clone in that deep grave, but Gigabyte merely turns as Shunt comes within reach of the claws, and Shunt spirals himself into the pit! One down, Growler and Clawdius to go. Speaking of Clawdius, he has already released Growler, who has actually scuttled off to his CPZ. Gigabyte and Clawdius turn simultaneously and face each other, hate and respect coursing through their every atom. Then they charge. However, Clawdius wins his third charge in a row as Gigabyte is thrown up onto the wedge. However, since the pit is nearly full, Clawdius decides to visit Growler again and dumps Gigabyte into Growlers CPZ. Growler opens his maw and clamps down on Gigabytes rear end. Uh, can you say no effect? Growler is stunned as his bite is only as good as his bark for Gigabyte, and lets go. He rams Gigabyte, who is thrown further up onto Clawdius wedge. Clawdius sinks the chomper down and finds a tasty wheel treat! Oh my goodness, it seems Clawdius perseverence paid off as the beak sinks deeper and deeper into Gigabytes tire and pokes a huge hole into it! Gigabyte cant escape and is rammed from behind again by Growler. Clawdius releases the tire, but it looks very damaged and I think that this fight is all but done as time winds down. Growler tries again with the jaws, but still no damage to the hardox end of Gigabyte. Clawdius repositions himself, trying to line up his claw with the other wheel of Gigabyte. Growler, with Gigabyte in his jaws, doesnt want Clawdius to have all the fun and so drags Gigabyte away to the angle grinder! Clawdius chases Growler and gets under him with the wedge, and slowly, but surely, the beak sinks down into Growlers shell. No effect! It seems that Growler is more resilient to chompbots than Matilda is...

Growler releases Gigabyte, who slowly wheels off in a slightly circular pattern.

6...5...4...

Clawdius releases Growler in turn, and rams Gigabyte with the rear wedge.

Growler comes in with one final slam...

Im not stopping now!

Starstorm 2 certainly has all the makings of a star, but it looks more like a Roman helm, with its dome shape and top spike. It also has four lifting skirts to support its full body flipper, which raises the entire lid of the robot. Its exterior Hardox armour should help as well.

Gravity is a realie with a really big attitude, really big recognition, and a really big flipper. Enough said.

Roboteers, stand by...

ACTIVATE!

Lets get it ON! And first out we have Gravity, who wants nothing better than to shove that huge flipper under Starstorm and launch him into orbit. Starstorm considers Gravity for a second, then moves out towards him to sweep him out. They collide...and Starstorm easily slides under Gravity and POP! the lid of Starstorm pops up to upend Gravity. However, instead of merely overturning Gravity, it launches him straight up into the air! Gravity doesnt like this one bit, but it suddenly gets worse as he lands near Starstorm, upside-down. Before the huge flipper acts, Starstorm slides under and pops Gravity into the air again! Worse, Gravity fired the flipper just after he left the ground, and he lands on his top, with his flipper left open, and he slowly tilts onto it. Frank is bemused by this but drives Starstorm into Gravity as Gravity rocks forward with the flipper closed. Gravity is tossed again and very nearly lands himself out of the arena, but bounces off the railing and behind Starstorm, right side up. This doesnt phase Frank one bit as Starstorm has skirts all around, but Gravity charges anyway, and again finds himself thrown straight up as the shell of Starstorm pops again! Gravity lands inverted but rights himself in a spectacular fashion, performing a 540 vertical, right on top of Starstorm, who answers this with another pop of the lid! Poor Gravity is now popped with the spike now as he goes sailing, and lands with a rather noisy CRASH onto the arena floor on his wheels. Starstorm charges again, wanting to end this now, but Gravity eludes him and decides that he doesnt want to take another trip. He hammers the pit release, and opens the pit. Frank laughs at the pathetic last resort that Gravity has to take to win this fight, and Starstorm charges yet again. Gravity evades the charge and dances around the pit, possibly trying to trick Starstorm into making a mistake. Dead Metal can no longer wait for a victim to come into his CPZ, and Sgt. Bash shares the his feelings as both house robots blaze a path (well, Sgt. Bash anyway :proud:) towards Gravity and Starstorm. Frank laughs again as Starstorm fixes his concentration on Dead Metal instead, tossing the house bot into the air, and Dead Metal lands dead on his back. Before Sgt. Bash can react to this surprising development, Starstorm is now in HIS face, and one pop of the shell signifies that Bash is also upended and dead. However, Gravity saw his opportunity and charged right at Starstorm. Frank is too late to lower his robots skirts as the wedge of Gravity slides under his creation and tosses it for a loop! Starstorm soars through the air and lands on his head, and narrowly avoids another charge from Gravity as he self-rights. Gravity looks worried now that he might not get another flip in, but hes got bigger things to worry about now that Starstorm is closing in on him! And indeed Gravity is too late to get away as Starstorm once again pops up the shell and Gravity rises up, and falls back to earth, and lands inverted. And it seems that all that flipping has taken its toll on Gravity, because his own flipper isnt responding! Yes, Starstorm believes that his work is done and so starts a victory spin of death as the Refbot slides over and counts out Gravity.

Well, Gravity is out, and Starstorm is through to the next round, but there are no house robots to dispose of Gravity. Ah, yes, so I guess Starstorm will do it for them, and down goes Gravity, down, down, DOWN! Into the pit, and immediately filling up the arena with smoke, ah, that was good fun...Starstorm, a force to be reckoned with.

You just need one vapourbot (a heavyweight) and youre in that one. But seeing youve actually built a robot (even if its a featherweight) this should be no problem, right? :)
