Hands up who thought this had died?
*Puts own hand up*
It isn€™t dead, and by my standards of forever delayed, I€™m happy with the delay on act 4, scene 1b.
Act 4, Scene 1, Part 2
Fight 3
The Box vs. Dante
In the red square, The Box from Team Whatever Andy€™s team is called these days.
In the blue square, Dante from Team Evil Genesis
Active
The fight beings, for the usual fee plus expenses, as The Box Returns for the last time accelerates from rest to it€™s top speed, going around the corner, and Dante is waiting for Andy, with the disc up to speed, as The Box rams straight into Dante€™s disc, which throws The Box away, with a large dent in the front panel, as it lands on it€™s back, Andy comes back onto the attack, and rams into Dante once more, which hasn€™t moved, and the second impact, sends The Box once more into a spin, as the sliding door, slides open. This is Music.
Confidential Information, kept in a diary, this is my tournament, not a public enquiry. Dante starts to move forward, but The Box is faster than it, and gets away from the disc and tries to dodge around the rear end, but it hits into the wheels and pushes Dante sideways, but nothing happens with the weapon, as Alex slams on the brake and The Box rams itself into the blade of death. Hmm, damage, nice. The Box is on it€™s back once more, the front end bent, ripped and damaged. Dante spins it€™s spinner up to speed once more, as The Box opens the pit release, as Dante is waiting in the wings. The Box slams into Dante once more, but Alex was ready and brakes once more, Andy has learnt and pushes Dante around the other way, so that it€™s behind the disc. Andy is heard to be saying something like €˜excellent€™ as he puts on full power on Dante, which is caught between a rock and a hard place, as The Box slams Dante into the wall at full power. Dante jumps up, but it is undamaged by the attack, as The Box rams underneath it and pushes into the wall once more.
Dante is being attacked once more, as Andy is not allowing Alex time to spin it€™s disc up to speed, as The Box rams Dante towards the pit, Alex breaks once more, but the flat front of The Box doesn€™t allow it to climb up, as Dante is dropped down the pit, 5 feet under and out. The smoke is rising from the pit, as The Box turns, after completing a shock.
Fight 4
Political Correctness Run Amok! Vs. Catalyst
In the red square, Political Correctness Run Amok, from Team Braveheart
In the blue square, Catalyst from Team Viper
The 4th place in scene 2 is up for grabs, as Steve and Andy are waiting.
Active
Catalyst starts to spin, sending up a dust storm, as Political Correctness Run Amok starts to move forward, armoured so well, as Catalyst starts to go forward, spinning forward still at speed 7, and moving at 2, as Political Correctness Run Amok slams straight into it. Both robots are sent away from each other, as Political Correctness Run Amok is looking damaged, and look at that slice in the front right hand corner from the blade, as Catalyst is still spinning on the spot, looking for some action, as Political Correctness Run Amok has opened the pit release. Steve is wondering what to do, as Catalyst starts to move towards his robot, as the sliding door opens, and both robots are in the arena to play. No Hope is waiting for some fun, with it€™s claw going forward, as Political Correctness Run Amok runs into Catalyst once more, trying to get underneath it, but it€™s impossible, and Political Correctness Run Amok is spun away, Catalyst comes back onto the attack and slams into the side of Political Correctness Run Amok, ripping away the skirts, and another attack onto Political Correctness Run Amok, damages the front wedge, by destroying a part of the holding bracket. Ouch. Political Correctness Run Amok runs for it, as Catalyst waits back for a while, playing with the skirt, ripping it to shreds. Political Correctness Run Amok is hanging around the arena spike, it€™s side on, looking for some spiky action.
Steve has changed into Professor Vengeance and turns Political Correctness Run Amok around and drives it straight into Catalyst at full power sending both robots spinning away, as Political Correctness Run Amok departs from it€™s wedge, as Catalyst ends up near the hammer, but some cleaver driving from Viper sees Catalyst away from damage, as Political Correctness Run Amok comes thundering into play, as it pushes Catalyst into the hammer, which comes down, and is ripped off by the force as it hits an empty gap. Political Correctness Run Amok rams Catalyst into the wall, as Viper stops the spinning, as Political Correctness Run Amok has pushed Catalyst into the wall, but what is Professor Vengeance going to do now, the doomsday device is out of Political Correctness Run Amok, as it fires, leaving a burning black mess on the arena, the fire it strong, as Political Correctness Run Amok reverses, allowing Catalyst time to run for it. The doomsday device has burned itself out, as Political Correctness Run Amok rams into Catalyst once more, but it is sent away, into the air, as Catalyst is waiting and bang, the right hand side is hit dead one, and a large dent is formed in the armour, as it is pushed inwards. Political Correctness Run Amok turns around in a circle, as it keeps control, but another slam from Catalyst puts another dent in the side panel, look at the wheels, that second dent is stopping the front wheels from turning, and the 1st dent is preventing full movement of the rear two wheels. Political Correctness Run Amok turns around, but Catalyst slams into it once more, and sends Political Correctness Run Amok spinning away, damaged, as the time is ticking down to the end of the self-destruction.
Cease
The judges are needed to decide the fight:
Damage - Political Correctness Run Amok (0/15), Catalyst (15/15)
Aggression - Political Correctness Run Amok (7/15), Catalyst (8/15)
Strategy - Political Correctness Run Amok (9/15), Catalyst (6/15)
Catalyst wins over Political Correctness Run Amok in a 29-16 decision and moves into scene 2.
Scene 2 Draw
Catalyst vs. Panic Panic Panic
The Box vs. Hurricane Hugo
Tactics, Predictions, Soz for the delay.
Well mates, if my estimates are correct, now that Steves out, i think ive won no matter WHAT happens...
In that case...
PARTY! PARTY! PARTY!!
:proud: :proud: :proud: :proud:
Anyways, on to tactics:
Just rip the HELL out of The Box Again [no pun intended] Once im up to speed, theres nothing else he can do, except die, same as Juggerbee Pi :proud:
Hey Anthony, you still havent beaten me in anything...and you entered twice as many events as me.
Not much of a tournament winner now, are you?
Yeah, but you havent beaten me either Tom *cough* VFT2/VFT3 *cough* , not much of a tournament winner now, are you? :proud: j/k
Well, Im not actually. Wheres my major tournament wins?
But answer me this Tom: Who really CAN beat you besides Aaron? :proud:
Me mwhahahah! Although I cant actually recall going aginst Tom to be fair Im sure in certain matches I could give him a run for his money.
Dave: since when is my team name evil gensesis? Has it ever been that? Its been team technowizard and team doomforall, but never evil genesis
i have beaten tom in ptt 4
Dont forget Hector, either
Meh, Im oot. At least Tom and I upheld our reign as the Ultimate Tag Team. Nyah. :lame:
I meant rather Ive never won a major tournament. Not much of a superpower, am I?
Im beginning to wonder who is winning so called major tournaments: Ive won five tournies I think, which is quite a low percentage, Steve quoted the VGC as his first major tourny win, Franks won about 4 or five if I remember rightly from a discussion which came a while back and he said none of those were majors. And a lot of other people have complained that they never win anything.
Which gives me three questions: 1) has Aaron really won that many tournies? and 2) what tournies are we counting as majors here, ptt obviously. 3) Who here is a superpower
quote:
Yeah, but you havent beaten me either Tom *cough* VFT2/VFT3 *cough* , not much of a tournament winner now, are you?
Cough Cough Lint vs Ulimate Tournament Rigger, Act 1, Scene 2.
Answers to Lord Doomforalls questions:
1 - He has won about 5 (VFT 2+3+4, Ptt3, plus another I cant remember)
2 - I Define a major as A Tourement with 32 or more robots
3 - The Superpower is Admin...
...always has been, always will be.
Only Tournies I call Major are the VFT Series and PTT Series, mainly because they are series I have always competed in because of the high standard of competition and Ive always enjoyed them. Was even more thrilled when I won some of them too :proud:
I always do comparativly lousily in VFTs compared to other tournies, although my latest NSBFL season was also most certainly sub standard.
Id say PTT, VFT, NSBFL, and then everything beyond that is debatable. Although Id like to think of VGC as a major its quality varies depending on the matchups and my mood at the time of writing.
Im with Davey Boy on this one.
I define a major tournament simply in terms of how big it is (ie over 24 or 32 bots competing). As such, I believe the likes of PTT, VFT, NSBFL, FAR, MRW, VGC et al all fall under this catagory, while the smaller tournaments I class as minors.
Couldnt be simpler :)
...and unfinished majors arent classed as anything. :proud:
Im just here to wipe out and design superbots, I very rarely win major tournaments. In fact the only one I can remember was VFT which was a total fluke. Although Ive had quite a few top four finishes and sometimes knock out the previous champions (usually Aarons bots :P).
VFT1 I think I major a major error. If it wasnt for that glaring oversight in the bot at that stage, it would have won easily IMO.
Sometimes I wish SpinVerter 3 was taken for what it was, rather than hey, lets figure out a way to beat it (Dave, Martyn etc. was the attitude of the time due to me being confident about it- why not? It was easily the most revolutionary thing Id ever made!) I think that alone was the major factor which stopped it from winning tournaments. That and MDU.
That happens with all winning robots, MDU had barely won a tourny and 10000 clones left the star wars production and joined the fanfics! Ive lost count of all the Anti-MDU bots around, some quite clever and would work, some havent a chance in hell :proud:
Hell, I miss the VFT 1,2,3,4 days... *sheds a tear over the glorious memories, but only one*
Dude, SpinVerter didnt even WIN before it started being strategically sniped by writers.
I look to the future, it makes me cry.
Another healthy delay but it€™s time for scene 2.
Act 4, Scene 2
It€™s like empty souls, they stand alone.
Fight 1
Catalyst vs. Panic Cubed
In the blue square, Catalyst from Team Viper
In the red square, Panic Cubed from Team Raven
Active
At once Catalyst starts to roll itself around on it€™s drive to get it€™s weapon up to speed, as Panic Cubed starts to roll away from the starting square, and straight into Catalyst to get the forks underneath the spinner, which is spinning clockwise, as Panic Cubed hits into the spinner.
Panic Cubed is spun away, as the reflex sends Catalyst into the sliding door as it€™s sliding, bending it so that it can€™t shut. Panic Cubed€™s front is all ripped up by that single impact, as Martyn comes back onto the attack, but once more fails to get the forks underneath the spinning body, but the forks are hit by the spinning spikes, and take the full pressure from the spinner and are ripped clean off, as Catalyst comes back onto the attack, and once more attacks the side skirts, which come away as easy as they were made of cheese, as Panic Cubed tries to come back onto the attack, but Martyn has ran out of ideas, and so rams straight into Catalyst in a do-or-die ram, and manages to push Catalyst backwards, but also takes a large slice of the energy and slowly grinds down to a stop, as Catalyst is spinning away in the background, as Panic Panic Panic has stopped. Martyn is trying to do everything in the book to get the robot going, but the lights are off.
Cease
Catalyst wins over Panic Panic Panic via KO in 1:35
Fight 2
The Box Returns Not For the Last Time vs. Hurricane Hugo
In the red square, The Box Returns not For the Last Time from Team AJ robotics.
In the blue square, Hurricane Hugo from Team Hitmen.
Active
Hurricane Hugo is the first out of the starting squares, as The Box Returns Not for the Last Time returns to the arena, after a shock round 1 victory over Dante. Hurricane Hugo gets first blood onto The Box, and spins it away with ease, and another attack from the faster machine onto poor old Boxy, sends the side panel hanging loose, and yet another hit from Hurricane Hugo, as the panel is ripped off, being sent into the air, and landing on top of Hurricane Hugo, which spins the panel off, as The Box Returns Not for the Last Time is pushed into the arena hammer, which adds more insult, as the front wedge has completely been wrecked, as the hammer comes down, once, twice, and Hurricane Hugo rams into The Box again, spinning it away, and the rear wheel has come loose, as the button is pressed in the red control square.
Cease
Hurricane Hugo wins over The Box Returns Not for the Last Time via Tap Out in 0.45 seconds.
Act 4, Scene 3
Catalyst vs. Hurricane Hugo.
Two large spinners, only one winner to take the 5th 10 points out of 6.
In the red square, Catalyst, from Team Viper Robotics
In the blue square, Hurricane Hugo from Team Hitmen.
Active
Catalyst€™s weapon is spun up, waiting for the attack from Hurricane Hugo, as Tony starts to spin it€™s outside ring up to speed to come onto the attack, but he is waiting for the sliding door to slide back into play to attack Catalyst first, as Viper starts to move forward, the top-secret brain on Catalyst starts it rolling forward as well at in 2 Pie Radians. Hurricane Hugo has come onto the attack.
Both robots hit, as neither roboteer knows what will happen, as a bang is heard, and the cloud of smoke covers both robots as Catalyst is away from the smoke, showing Hurricane Hugo€™s entire spinning ring hanging loose, as Storm Hugo turns into a floor spinner and the ring spinner part of it comes away and the rest follows as Mr Hugo is undressing itself. Catalyst has opened the pit release button, and ripped it clean away from Gale-Hugo, as Catalyst is waiting for another attack from Gale-Hugo, and starts to move towards the party, as Gale-Hugo comes into the attack, as both are floor spinners this could be good to see what happens, as Gale-Hugo is spun away, and onto the arena spike, which fires, sending it onto it€™s side and onto it€™s top, the insides are spinning away madly, but the wheels are spinning, but nothing it moving on Windy Hugo, as Catalyst slams into Windy Hugo once more, which splits the nut up.
Breezy Hugo isn€™t moving, nothing is left, as Ref starts to count it out.
Cease
Catalyst wins over Hurricane Hugo via KO in 4:57 and claims all 10 points:
