Hey Dan, just a tip, you might want to replace all your AA sized batteries with C or D cells. As such, youll need around another 10kg or so in all robots for the upgrade, but AA cells will just explode under that kinda stress.

The AA sized batteries are meant to be a sarcastic reply to Aaron and Andys comments in one of the earlier tourneys.
The crusher will now be powered by 12 x 9.6-volt NiMh Radio Controlled Car Batteries, each weighing 12oz.
God damn me and my laziness! Apologies for the delay again. Another Intro of nothingness will have to do. ANy complaints, contact this addy:

House bots: Buzz-Flight Gear and Dynamite Tee-Hee!
Enough ridicliousness, onto the fight!
[Note, I am going by Franks theory the axe will not do anything and will have very few fires. Scotts got alot of knowlage and all, btu Franks ran 7 tournys, id expect him to know more than Scott]
3..2...1...ACTIVATE!
Grabbit Advance goes off, charges at Glasglow Kiss and grips and picks him up without even a smidgin of trouble! GK tries firing the axe, but only a few scratches are there! But the last hit leaves a dent in Grabbits body, but its nothing to worry about!
GK is out of CO2 due to the limited supply, and Grabbit rams GK aginst a wall, and its flipped! then, cause we ALL know GK is helpless, Dynamite Tee-Hee comes out unfairly and hits the pit trigger, and Buzz Flight Gear starts pushing from the side.
when Buzz gets to Dynamite Tee-Hee!, quite a nasty dent is in the side, and cause of all the pushing, GK is back on its feet, but it dosent matter, as Dynamite Tee-Hee! impales it witht he lance and then barbaques it! Grabbit decides he wants some of the steak and grips GK and down into the pit it goes, sleeping with Davey Shep-I mean, Jones!
CEASE!
Well, another easy win for Grabbit Advance! Will Franky ever geta challenge in this tourtament? FInd out next on The Super Mario Brothers Super-
I mean, The Fowler Fic Wars Series 3!
Look, dont assume I know everything just because Ive been around forever. Aaron Tom and Nick know more than me, and Ive run more tournies than the three of them put together.
And I know nothing at all, but give the impression that I do to people who dont know much themselves... And Ive probably run close to the nubmer of tournaments of those three too and Ive only run four proper vapourbot tournies, and one was never finished.
Never trust first impressions round here, lol
Wow, it lasted all of about 2 hits out of the three tanks, firing two mid-sized cylinders, on liquid CO2 pressure. I demand a rewrite! Its not that I lost, its just that it was totally biased, and you just pulled the number of hits out of your backside. It would at least have lasted about 15-20 hits, minimum.
Having re-read the fight, I agree actually. I may have estimated GKs hits on the low side, but you went waaay under it.
Scott, you have taken into account that 5 KGs of liquid is less fuel than 5 KGs of gas, right?
Not really, the liquid is at a higher pressure and the molecules are closer together. Its also colder. I think the density is increased also.
Fuck, I hate myself! I could have SWORN I typed in Severeal times added in! Damn unreliable keyboard...always goes off at the wrng time.
And frank, im not.In a chat earlier this week you amde some good points.
Sigh...always misunderstood as usual.
Come on. Do you guys understand now?
I understand your mum...
Im redrawing my robots from this, you know why.
Goodbye
Scott: Har dee har har HAR.
Dave: Ok. I can find some real robots to replace you.
Okay, Everything about GK is cleared up now.
·$26Little Vader·0 says:
I know I have 9 litres of co2 on GK, and the rams use 678.58ml each fire.
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
Okay, if 1000 ml is a liter...
·$26Little Vader·0 says:
No, both rams is 678.58
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
Pay attention now.
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
I know.
·$26Little Vader·0 says:
One is 339.29
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
Im not talking about ml.
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
Im saying, if one thousand ml is 1 liter.
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
Then this is correct.
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
Okay, as I was saying
*I use a caculator, and this turns out to be 13, might have been 14, i forgot. try it yourself if you dont belive me.]
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
13 fires.
Sonic - (personality + fun) x angst squared = Shadow says:
Thats the most youll get
Your maths is wrong. You have forgotten the laws of gas. 1 mole of any gass is 22.4L. When you compress a gas, you get that same 22.4L but in a much smaller space and at a higher pressure.
I have a flipper calculator on file which is pretty accurate and if your using 3 x 2kg CO2 running an 80mm bore ram with a 150mm stroke on a Full Pressure unregulated system which produces a combined 3200kg of force at the rams, youll get 29 flips MAX. I would say a minimum of 20 and the first 10 should all be at close to full power before you start loosing pressure on each shot.
If your going to throw maths around as your evidence, make sure the maths is correct ;) And who ever is using that damn Mac Actuator, just drop it... your wasting weight and your not getting anything special....
Dan, please contact me on MSN, Im going to explain to you why your barberous robot will not last longer then 1 min :proud:
Aaron, I think you missed my point. All i did was subtract 678.58 from 9000 until I got to 0 or below. And at 13 or 14, it went below 0.
Refer to MSN convo for reasons.
Scotts using liquid Co2 though, I dont know if that makes any difference to Aarons calcs.
Bu whether GK has 13-14 hits or around 30 or not, is there going to be a rewrite? Im a bit confused on that point.
The flipper calc is on the Hassocks Hog website if anyone is interested in playing around and working out there setups themselves.
Just out of interest, are there any calcs for axes, hydraulics and drive power?
Well, matts back, so I hope he rewrites it now that everythings all cleared up. This also means you wont have to put up with my inability to write intros. :P
Frank, there is an axe culculator about, I have lost the link i had to it a while ago, but Ill look around to it. For Hydraulics, you can use the online pneumatic force calculator (http://www.pneumaticsonline.com/Calc5.asphttp://www.pneumaticsonline.com/Calc5.asp) to work out how much force your ram will have. To find out speeds, weights and pressures, your best off chatting to a company like Vivoil Hydraulics. For the drive power, you can buy a copy of the EDT Sim program or you might be able to find a copy on the net. If you contact me on msn, I can put your drive train through my copy of EDT Sim and Ill be able to tell you how it goes :)

May be of some help for axes.
*Knocks* Hey Matty...you run this again, remember?
Lil thing called bucketloads of coursework. Will have the next fights done this weekend hopefully:) Then it shoudl get bakc into a rhythm
OK, Ill start re-riting Tonys heat to stop mix-ups lol. Will try and do round 1 today.
Actually, change of plan, Ill dot he 2nd round again, but the first round looks fine:)
Welcome to round 2 of Heat 3 of The Fowler Fic War Series 3, and after Tony€™s fairly smooth running of the tournament up until this point, Mr. Fowler is back to restore some order and to do some more marathon fights that no-one can be bothered to read:proud:
Today we see a first in the Fowler Fic War in that we have 2 clusterbots battling one another. The first comes in the form of the legend form the 80kg tournaments Gemini, up against Chris Cooper€™s rather moody looking creation, The Vampire Twins. It€™s flipper vs. drill, Realie vs. Vapour, and where is it all going to take place? Only the classic arena! Let€™s head arena-side to see all the action.

Immediately from the call both machines split and start tearing across the arena at one another. Gemini looked as if they were both going after one of the 2 Vampire Twins, but it looks like the Vampires have other ideas, and are each going after the first of the 2 Gemini sections. This time though, they do a fairly good job of getting them out of the way, with Tony firing his flipper at the first to meet him, throwing the 50kg high into the air with little trouble, before they bounce back to Earth with a crash. The second of the 2 Vampire Twins has slightly better luck though, driving round the side of Gemini and ramming into him, trying to attack the wheels with the drill. It doesn€™t make an impact on they tyre this time though, instead attacking the red wheel hub instead, tearing into the flimsy plastic. The other half of Gemini on the other hand is attacking the previously flipped half of the Vampires, sliding underneath him with the arm, and shoving him towards the fence. He fires the arm, only for Tony€™s machine to bounce off the saws on the sidewall back to the floor. Gemini comes in for another attack, but Vampire Killer number 1 avoids the attack and instead watches Gemini fly straight through and hit the saw on the side, bouncing off with a slice through the armour. On the other side of the arena, Vampire Killer number 2 is continuing to harass Gemini, attacking the tyres with the drill before Gemini finally gets back at him, spinning around and catapulting him into the air off the arm. Vampire Killer lands right way up though and flies straight back in at his wheels, this time getting a direct hit on the rubber of the tyres and ripping into it. The tyre immediately begins to deflate, and Gemini starts hobbling about like a 3-legged donkey. Vampire Killer Number 2, notices what€™s happening on the other side of the arena, and immediately charges over to the pit release button, knocking into it and letting off the siren of death. Number 1 Vampire then proceeds to shunt Gemini across the arena, before submerging him into the pit. At this point, he performs almost a handbrake turn on the spot, before flying in at the other half of Gemini, performing a pincer attack on Gemini. This time, both machines get their drills on the tyres, thought it€™s hard to see if they€™ve done any damage to them at this moment, as neither of them plan on letting go, instead they start manouvreing him towards the pit. At the last minute though, Vampire Killer 2 moves out the way, and within a couple of seconds, number 1 shoves him down the pit and out of the competition.
CEASE
Me- Gemini proves that clusterbots are easy to kick. Vampire Killer proves that clusterbots can kick back. They go through.
Bah, I knew that was going to happen. :P
Good fight, although Vampire Killer is MY bot, unless somehow Chris got knocked out during the fight and my clone came in, cut Vampire Killer into two peices and owned me with it. :P
bollocks!:P I got really confused looking through teh entry least with lots of vampires:sad: Sorry guys:sad: I used the same sats all the way through though:P
Right, this is an official cancellation of FFW3. It will be restarted almsot immediately however Im in a position where I am forced to cancel this one. It will be replaced by a new FFW3. However this will be in an entirely different format. Perhaps closer to that of the THDC tournament.
