i am sure it will :)
only one week to go, and still havent done anything more than in the website. This is gonna be one heavy weekend...
well hurry WJ ! we dont want to see a box of stuff again like you did in the first dutch series ;)
That was the second series wasnt it ;)
WJ,
if you have someone else do the driving, you could build it in the back of the car on the way over here!
Good point Arthur !
But I will be arriving monday, And dont have to fight until thursday, so thats 3 days to finish the robot in england.
Does anyone have a mobile waterjetting machine laying around ?
pics of G 4 1/2 :

What colour will it be when its finished WJ?
Considering WJs last post itll be whatever colour he can put into a bucket and throw over. Itll probably enter the arena on Thursday at the very least still tacky but perhaps, and unsuprisingly, still dripping.
Anyway whats wrong with primer grey and scorch marks?
:)
color, just like G3, black and red, with a shiny chromy ram.
without an event to go to, G 4 1/2 will take a while...
now theres an event WJ are u still going to build it?
bot will be ready for the 11 september AHOY event in holland.

Its looking very good, but are you going to leave the wheels exposed like that?
@ Christian,
dont know yet. Those wheels are pretty tough, and when Im on my roof I can still maneuver with them to srimech the right way. (I.E. not into the pit)
Gravity in its new home : (Ive moved :)

started work on G5 for Amsterdam...
thought Id let you know :)
Would be interesting to see some pics if you get chance :)
rebuilding my bosches and gearboxes right now, not really pic worthy. As soon as I start welding, Ill take pictures !
Why go back to bosches when youve used mags?
cause I sold them :)
And I dont have the money to power the mags like they should be. So back to the 9Ah 36V bosches.
gravity is my equal favourite robot along with wbc
The old Gravity is being entered for several US competitions!

neat trick since the frame of G3 is thrown away and the system reused in another bot and sold back again.
Quite clear that the image is modded if you look closely
I wonder if it is somebody just having a laugh ?
Its a copy.

I was at the last event that this team was at, WBXII in Canada. I will give them credit for what seemed to be a 2 day build in the pits. But man, that bot was a whole bunch of suck. Half the time it would not drive and then the other half it would only turn left. They had like 1/16 AL armor, so he had better thank the lord that no good spinners were at the event or it would have been trashed! Hell, .100 Ti and .5 AL on my 12lb bots are not enough at times. Maybe he was just having a really bad event, but I would not expect anything to amazing from them, but I really hope they prove me wrong.
Anybody going to come to WBXIII?
~Chad
Why give them credit for a 2 day build that ends in a whole bunch of suck ?
The original Gravity was a 2 day build in the pits that did quite well...
Ive send them an email :
Hi There, I am William Dijkstra, owner and builder of the robot Gravity, and owner of all its pictures as such.
Can you tell me why you stole one of the pictures of my robot ( http://www.buildersdb.com/botpics/4133.jpghttp://www.buildersdb.com/botpics/4133.jpg ) and put your own name on it ?
William
:)
Gravity 5 will be built.
featuring a double independant co2 system, with 2 co2 bottles, 2 buffertanks, a 140x140mm full pressure ram and 4 1/2 inch burkert valves to fill that puppy :)
Fabulous news
Did you ever hear back from the guy who stole that pic of Gravity?
yeah, he was very sorry, didnt know his son stole the pic, and removed it and then continued to ask alot of questions about how the robot worked, and the size of it and stuff :)
Wooohoooooo :)
Collecting parts for Gravity 5 is well underway now. Wheels/motors/gearboxes done, 2 co2 bottles done, 2 litre ali buffertank in the making, ram done, new 2.4Ghz radioset done...
still needed: 3 burkert valves and a speedcontroller :)
Then its just piling up the parts and weld a robot around it....
Good job! :)
3 liter buffertank WJ.
Ah, I stand corrected ;)
Also ordered about 3.5 square metres of hardox.
Going the monocoque route again...
Gotta love hardox, eh WJ? :)
