The Roaring Donkey mini-tournament
If thats what you wish...
Name: Rupture
Shape: A low box wedge shape, the front wedge is sloped at 45 degrees.
Length: 700mm
Width: 700mm
Height: 200mm
Weight: 100kgs
Drive: 2x S28-400 Magmotors, run at 33v by 10x A123 battery packs.
Speed: 15mph to provide decent acceleration and running speed.
Ground Clearance: 0mm at the front wedge, 10mm at the side and back. 0mm all round when the skirts are fixed.
Skirting: Side and rear skirts that provide 0mm of ground clearance all around Rupture. They are 5mm Ti/V alloy and are hinged to the robot via a rotary joint.
Armour: 4mm thick Hardox monocoque.
Weapon: A lifting arm, around 600mm in width, which is hinged at the rear and runs down the front wedge ending in a flat platform running flush to the ground. It is operated by an S28-400 motor run at 24v and geared at 300:1. The idea is to not produce devastating flips, but something that can keep rolling the opponent over and over. It can lift up to full height in under a second and is designed to last the length of a fight, which is an advantage for fighting flippers.
Self-righting mechanism: The lifting arm can easily right the robot.
Notes: Designed to just keep going on and on and on€¦

Right...I think I knew what I meant with that last post, but maybe not :P Ill do the draw anyway - thanks to everyone for entering, apologies to people who didnt get in, but there will more than likely be another one with more entries...plus I have plans. Evil plans.

Brilliant! I cant wait for it!
PS: The ratio for my weapons is actually 1.5:1
The Roaring Donkey mini-tournament
Ladies and gentlemen...Boys and girls...the dawn of a new era in robotic combat is upon us. An era of better, stronger machines than ever before. An era of brutality. An era of mayhem. An era of unparalleled destruction and total annihilation.
...Before we start that era though, lets get the Roaring Donkey Mini Tournament underway! :proud: Eight people have entered their prized creations into this tournament:
Paul Cuomo - Tri-Tainium
Kody Kunz - Macduff the 2nd
Martijn Benschop - Back To Rock III
Alex Holt - Darkestar
Shane Swan - Envy
Frank Goacher - The 6isc
Aaron Knight - Resonance
Andrew Jackson - Rupture
Why they chose to do this, I have no idea. Madmen, all of them. But heres the draw anyway:
ROARING DONKEY TOURNAMENT - ROUND THE FIRST
Back To Rock III vs. The 6isc
Rupture vs. Macduff The 2nd
Envy vs. Darkestar
Resonance vs. Tri-Tainium
NOTES ON THE ARENA: The arena is very much like the series 3 arena in dimensions. The entire thing is made of indestructiblenonmagneticbombprooffireproofandFran kproofium, and the only hazards are the obligatory grinders, a flame grid near the bottom right hand corner and a pit near the top left corner. This pit is always open; however it will be closed for the final, along with the flame grid, making it more of a challenge. OOTAs are possible.
Tactics, predictions, comments, and a large amount of money please.

Consider that noted, Paul. Its still a big spinny thing; the ratios are somewhat irrelevant at this point :proud:

Anyway, tactics will be to aim at the sides of Back to Rock and try to clice up the Ti, rip the skirts off and generally make a mess. I dont see a lot he can do to me, Ill likely just slide straight off his lifter.
Predictions:
Rupture vs. Macduff The 2nd - Depends on Macduffs set-up, but Ill guess Rupture.
Envy vs. Darkestar - Envy
Resonance vs. Tri-Tainium - Resonance
The Roaring Donkey mini-tournament
My first Round predictions for this brilliant looking compeition are looking like this.
Back To Rock III vs. The 6isc: Ive had a look at The 6isc, and it looks good, but not as good as the original Disc. Back To Rock to go forward by just getting The 6isc to fall down the pit!
Rupture vs. Macduff The 2nd: This is a fight we all look forward to, as whoever wins will have won their first ever battle! I reckon itll be AJ, who will stack Madcuff on the wall and win via KO.
Envy vs. Darkestar: Envy is a very good machine and I admire it greatly, but does it have the power and greatness to take down Darkestar? Yes! Envy will win via OOTA.
Resonance vs. Tri-Tainium: Oh [BEEP for about 4 minutes ]! Why did I end up with Resonance? But I reckon I might stand a chance - hes designed to hit anything thats inside its width, and so being so wide (which for its idea to succeed, it MUST be wide) itll have poor agility. My plan is to hit the wheel pods and, this will either rip a panel away and expose the wheels, shakle something loose, and kill it. But I dont think Im going to win.
Good luck with this compeititon, Joey. Looks cool

Paul by the original Disc, do you mean TD5 or THE original The Disc?
