Out of interest Ewan, how did you approach your CNC sponsors? Did you have a contact there?
I looked via the internet at different CNC companies around Bristol (my city) and I found this company to be the best in Bristol, the whole south-west even! I put together an email package with information on team history, and what we hope to accomplish in future.
I put together a 2 minute movie with all the previous robots included, and sent this off to the sponsors. Yesterday I went to their workshop/warehouse and looked about their stock etc. I also showed them the remains of all my robots... I try to be as professional as possible with my appearence to sponsors, and I try to fill every thing they wanted when they first decided to sponsor me. Now I have three sponsors, Ive decided to stop looking for more, I do not need any more...
+ James, yes, that was the idea, to stop teeth flying off...
Cheers, Ewan
* the best CNC company in Bristol
it does depend on what your teeth are made from however we personnally have never had any problems with hardox teeth welded to a steel ring. After series 7 they only require a slight sharpen after all the hits dished out.
well done ewan, if u can get big companys behind you now, imagine what you will be like in 10 years time :)
Yo Ewan you should come show off your bot in Monmouth. Were just over the bridge from you.

Ed Hoppit???
Mr Stu - Runs!
Nice one Stu!!! :)
LMAO @ Stu. Damn, I wish we had some CNC companies close at hand, but hey, the closest would be around 200km.
What if I can become Ed hoppit now :)
(I am looking into different steels for the disc, so exact specs on the material I choose will come soon. I am currently doing some CADs for the body panels and sections, and soon Ill do a picture for the weapon mounts/setup).
I say just stick with the brick ewan. If u try and add a drill powered disc (which i am doubting will be effective) no offense or anything then it may cause more trouble than its worth and not do much. The brick is a good design with the wedge. Spinners need to do huge damage to kill then and it can slam robots all over the place.
