Wow! What an amazing event, started the champs off badly with terrible luck and ended up going out. But ended up winning the annihilator! Couldn't believe it and as the rounds went on I couldn't have got any more nervous lol. After I sorted the link issue out, the robot kept on being really reliable which I was pleased with. But I spend most my time between fights sorting the drill drives out which caused nothing but problems. For next year I'll make my own gear boxes and have them bolted tho the base rather than the bulkheads to aid repairs to let the robot come apart easier. The self righter control wants looking at properly, and the bearings on the weapon couldn't take the forces so its a case of seeing if there's a higher quality type or may have to change which type I use. hopefully gonna start making the new drive gear boxes in a few weeks so will keep this updated.
What was the issue with your drill drives?
Just constantly something coming loose after a few fights from all the impacts, they should be a lot better once I'll rebuilt them hopefully!
spent a bit of time looking over ts3 today. got a few ideas for improvements but for next year at least it'll stay mostly the same.
few pics next to annihilator trophy
new forum don't seem to agree with me so dunno if pictures have actually added lol
Just a few questions...
What is the maximum Diameter of your whisk?
How much does it weigh?
What material is it made from?
What reduction off the Speed 900 are you using?
What voltage is it running at?
I am planning to use a whisk on Conker 3 so I am looking at what others have.
hey,
150mm i believe and 25mm thick
3.5kg,
hardox 450,
4:1 i believe,
and 22v off a 6s lipo
If TS3 was run off a brushless it would be a cracking machine. Guess it goes to show that old school speed 900s can make up for their lack of power by attaching to an efficient weapon design.
It will be brushless for next year I recon and will have a 4kg beater - will keep the current one as a spare. It was only running a speed 900 this year due to the money I had available lol, luckily all the materials not including the nylon were out of works scrap bin so I didn't have to pay for a lot of the robot but having a house means I couldn't splash on expensive stuff all in one go that's all
