15:1 mfa como motors :)

They're handy in the sense that the Banebots wheels have a hex hub adapter that fits straight on to the 4mm output shaft and is secured against the flat of the output shaft with a little grub screw.

Got some 47mm and 60mm Banebots wheels to play about with and see what size is better.

what batteries are people using? Not sure what to get because I need something really light. :)

Re: UK Kilobots - 1.362kg (3 lbs) Combat Robots
I intend on using a lipo pack. It's 11.1V and 850mAh; not sure if that capacity is enough but considering it cost me £1.50 I'm willing to take a punt on it. Although if I need to upgrade, I will upgrade. Don't want to be unnecessarily starving the brushless of power 8)

Thanks for the replies :)
So will the lipo on yours be powering the brushless motor or the drive motors?...or both?? :)
Re: UK Kilobots - 1.362kg (3 lbs) Combat Robots
At the moment, the plan is to have it powering both the drive and the brushless systems. But if I find that the drives are cutting out or losing power as a result of voltage sag when the brushless is spun up, then I'll consider running separate packs for the weapon and drive.
Re: UK Kilobots - 1.362kg (3 lbs) Combat Robots
Sounds awesome. Also another question. What speed controllers are best for kilobots?
Re: UK Kilobots - 1.362kg (3 lbs) Combat Robots
I was going to go with this;

But if 5a doesn't cut it then I'll go with the 10a one.
I thought people used the one I linked for Ants, but it weighs 53g so I'm guessing not.
Re: UK Kilobots - 1.362kg (3 lbs) Combat Robots
looks good. :) do you think it would work with these motors?

Re: UK Kilobots - 1.362kg (3 lbs) Combat Robots
That speedo is ample for a Kilobot, and its only 22g, not 53. I've got about 3 of them :P
