ok, so seeing as Matt isn't able to, I've uploaded a couple of pics of his robots. :)

Nice, looks like a good couple of machines you have to play with. I'm really starting to like flipping stuff around too :D.
Well one dont work and one kind of works
I have 4 that don't work and 1 that kind of works
I need one to be working in a month and it seems impossible
The only problem is that it turns a bit strangely when you want it to go straight? Impossible seems a bit dramatic for that :?
I have tried many things, and get my actuator working :)
Matt, you can see that those wheels aren't parallel, can't you?
Your problem is probably less to do with motor speeds & more to do with the fact that the wheels are fighting against each other.
Dodgy picture angle ceri, the wheels are level :)
Can't be, it isn't parallel with the paving slab it's sitting on -Top wheel is, bottom wheel isn't. Either your wheels aren't or the slab isn't square.Quote:

Apart from the wheels, looks good. Hopefully you should be able to get it running in a straight line if you move one of the wheels and motors round slightly :)
funny thing is its fine in reverse :)
I can explain that:
Tank steering works on the principle of two drives equally parallel & exerting equal forces.
Your right wheel is angled inward which means the robot pushing into a counter clockwise spin & being the dominant force, is drifting the robot right. Your left wheel skids.
When the robot reverses, the right wheel is angled outwards & is the weaker force of the wheels. Right wheel skids & the bot generally follows the left wheels direction.
If there's some handy and it fits, map your drive out on square/graph paper. It'll help affix your drive down to a minimum of drift error.
You could use someone like me on your team, Matt!
You are in my team ceri... :proud:
i'm impressed with how good your grabber looks!
What were you expecting? :D
The claws from point to point are 62cm btw :)
a dog with a cardboard box covered in tin foil on it :proud:
looking nice
Are they FW's?
Yep, both fw's
i believe my actuator has died son i need to find a new one of the same make and model :(
btw matt, i have a spare electronise 15a if you still need one
I can tell by the pics, that Michael and Matt have met. Now i need to meet him and Ceri now
Still cursing my luck atm
I see from photos that he has something to do with Mr Nasty and X-Terminator too? :?
@ Lian, I haven't met Matt yet, I just uploaded some pictures of his robot's as he was having some trouble uploading them, I should be meeting him at the event in Kidderminster though.
@Tony, A man I know bought Mr Nasty and X-Terminator several years ago, but he never got round to using them, so now he wants to get rid of them and he said he could bring them down to me. I'm not sure what's going to happen about that, as obviously SA is my priority at the moment.
Ahh cool, thats pretty sweet :) . If he's/you're looking for a loving home for to get them restored you know the man to talk to :D. Interesting to see that x-terminator has its axe back on rather than the spinner, he's looking in pretty rough shape too.
Did you get on ok with the 2.4Ghz conversion btw?
hang on tony, ive called them until i decide what im doin about them
 fair enough. Keep them original(ish) though I would say, dont make them unrecognisable, especially X-T.
Mr Nasty looks fairly intact, unless the batteries are dead then it looks like it probably still runs?
X-terminator is the older model, it never had a spinner, the series 7 model that had the spinner was a completely different machine. Mr Nasty still works (apparently) but X-Terminator is just the shell. And Tony, I haven't converted SA to 2.4ghz yet, a friend is hopefully coming round next wednesday to help with it. :)
i would take x-terminator and make it competative again yet it will take a lot or fime and money to do it were as mr nasty would be ready to run and since its 6mm steel, i doubt it would need changing to hardox armour
yeah, as far as I know all that would need changing would be the radio system and possiblly the batteries (im not sure what it uses)
Ahhhh I see, didn't know that. The conversion should be fairly straight forward, just a case of pulling all the old stuff out and putting the receiver in instead. If you're using the older speed controllers, NCC boards I think it is, you will need to keep the receiver battery too. Just so that doesn't become a problem :)
EDIT: From the pictures it looks like Mr Nasty is using 3 SLA batteries :)
36v, 4wd, 4 bosch 750's rammer
if RR allow slippers again, i would do a pussycat style spinner in 10kg... possibly :)
not sure if there would be enough space for a disc, Mr Nasty looks quite compact, personally I'd put a tornado style scoop on the front
If you wanted to swap the SLA's for NiCad's you might have the weight for a spinner, but the space would probably be the biggest issue. The scoop would work a treat, probably a better use of the spare weight.
. :lol:Quote:

thanks for pointing out my typo tony ;)
but a double wedge with a spike on wither would work :)
yeah, I'd probably try and make the scoop interchangable so other weapons could be put on.
interchangable with what though??????
