Edit for shanes last post
Ok quick update;
Show 1 (Sat 3pm) - Tilly Allstars Vs Saints & Sinners
Show 2 (Sat 6pm) - Team Barbie Vs The Mighty Reds
Show 3 (Sun 11am) - Show 1 Loser Vs Show 2 Loser
Show 4 (Sun 3pm) - Show 1 Winner Vs Show 2 Winner
Please have some for of identification on your robot, so the audience know what team you€™re on. Also in the pits you will be grouped into your teams, so feel free to bring anything to decorate your area of the pits with (flags, banners etc).
The format of the show will be;
HW WB
HW Tag Team
HW Hockey/Bulldog
UKC
Interval
Boxers
HW Pinball/Pool
HW Racetrack
FW
Skeletron
HW Melee
This does mean that there will be only one featherweight fight per show, and there will be limited whiteboards for robots not competing in the show. This may change depending on how quick the shows run.
The Tanja Memorial fight and the Team Bud Trophy will take place in the Sunday 11am Show.
UK Championship Qualifiers
1 Maelstrom(1) v St Hammer
2 Ripper(3) v Scorpion
3 Meggamouse(4) v Iron Awe 6 v Apocalypse (Show 1)
4 And His Army(5) v Cabrakan 2
5 Tilly Evo(6) v Stinger
6 Iron Awe 5(7) v Merlin (Show 2)
7 Thor(8) v Pressure
4 of these will be during the shows, the rest between shows. Sunday shows will be decided when we know the winners of the competition.
BIG email going out Monday, with all the info in.
ok,
Thats nice of you looking after the Not so mighty reds !!! Means they can go home early on sunday.
Envy can have its chains put back on.. and jason can fix thor before his sunday roast in his own garage !!
Id say let them fight it out on the saturday night then, but will probably have to make a rule for this kind of thing.
Maybe the looser from the saturday show needs to fight the sunday person or something
John
Team captain - Team Barbie <----- Whats that all about !!

oh saints and sinners that should be intresting
Email gone out, let me know if you haven't got it.
Can you send a copy my way please Alan. :D
Ok guys. What with the Uk champs......The team challenge and now the teambud trophy jonno and ripper has his work cut out indeed. gonna be a heavy weekend for you mate especially now i can tell you that you have drawn Iron Awe 5 in the teambud trophy.
To confirm....
Teambud challenge trophy will be Ripper VS Iron Awe 5.
Good luck guys.
Should be a good one :)
wow we are no where near the arena and you guys are fighting already !
alan will a little red flag be ok or could i use some red insulation tape on toxic for the colour ?
shame im not in a yellow team really.
who is commentaiting as ed hoppit is away ?
alan or rob, how are the ticket sales going ?
gonna try and get some red gaffa tape terry so can add it on sat. i recon a tin of red spray paint for iron awe wouldnt go a miss either :)
just spoke to rob and news has it ironawe are painting their flipper red...i will do the same too so there is a good idea for you terry. dont know what i will do with thor tho. red hammer maybee.
Question ....
On the schedule it's has two games in one slot ... I have assumed it's an either or situation not both.
If so when will we know what we are playing ? Or have I missed something?
Cheers
was thinking of doing the old england flag on me flipper but yellow backgroungd not white !
If we are changing flipper colour i will have to get some vinyl pronto !
As long as your paint isn't scratched too much for the loopooooooooosers show on Sunday morning !!!!
Pink is the new black
I echo Jonno's question actually
Also, I have no paint except black so someone might have to bring some blue paint for me.
Cabrakan's in need of some serious work, I haven't actually been able to get him out of the car since Aylsebury, no-one around to help me, so it still needs charging.
The slots with 2 games are either, don't know which will be used in each show yet. Also another thing ive been asked, you can swap/share drivers around within the teams (obviously this doesn't apply to the UK champs fights).
Hiya,
We can€™t plan who€™s doing what until we know what game we are playing as you€™ve set a rule where robots can€™t do consecutive games.
When will you decide? As the Hockey/Bulldog ties up 4 robots for our choice who then can€™t be used for the next game of Pinball !
Or by consecutive does that mean within a show€¦ ie a robot CAN do the Hockey, an then do the next challenge of Pinball because there is a gap in the shop and other fights inbetween.
Does this make sense?
John

i think the aim is make it so all robots in the team take part in at least one game, (excluding the melee where everybody has to go in anyway), to stop one robot taking part in all of the challenges and leaving some in the team with none. But i'll get Rob to confirm that.
ok check with the boss man,
So as long as each robot does something, sounds like its pretty flexible. As long as we know.
John
I've sorted out who's doing what in any contingency, so its no bother to me, however I hope we get to do pinball because one of the teams machines is built for it, and would be useless at the alternative :P
And the winners are.......... The Tilly Allstars!!! :proud:
Well done guys shame we couldn't be there today but we had a great time yesterday
Also well done to Team Barbie for coming second sounds like it was really close until the final melee.
Finally thanks to Robots Live and Rob & Gilbert for all their hard work with organising and running the shows we all really enjoyed it.
I'll try to get a few videos online over the next week or so.
Thanks Again and well done to the Allstars!!!!
Really enjoyed our time at the event even though it was only one show. Well done guys, very brave choice of event format and seemed to work really well. Nice to see those horrible boys from Team Bud getting booed but it was funny seeing the Bullfrog going out of the arena when they absolutely definitely weren't having weapons!!
Andy
Well done Shane and the All Stars.... Close final, all went a bit T^^s up really in the final.
Ripper and MM being thrown out by IA5....
Ripper not working in the race as the main anderson had been unplugged by the oota
Then getting 5 points knocked off for cheating ( apparently )
Lucky in the pool.
Ripper ootad again by IA5 early on, Meggamouse link came out, Toon Raider started on only 1 wheel, Apoc did well getting IA5 out.... and our star last robot running ... Scorpion !!!
Could have gone better.
Well done to Rob and Gilbert..... If anyone things RL and RR have an easy time selling tickets... speak to ROB... I think he'd disagree. It is a lot of work, and its nice to see other peoples eyes being opened !
Format was cool... something different.... Enjoyed the pink theme.... hope i get to wear my T shirt sgain soon !

WELL DONE !!!!! SHANE AND THE TILLY ALLSTARS ON YOUR WIN!!
GREAT TEAM CAPTIN AND YOUR TEAM WERE ALL STARS !!!!!!
Well done to Rob Gilbert and the Robots Live Crew Great Event ...
Hope You Made loads for the charity.....
Second Well done to all the teams who took part..
the format was a great change and worked very well and i hope all the teams enjoyed it as much as the we did, i think the teams were very evenly matched and it could have gone either way ...
I for one cant wait to do it all again and defend our TITLE HEAVYWEIGHT TEAM CHAMPIONS ( THE TILLY ALLSTARS !!!!!!! )
PETE ....
Well done the Tilly All Stars.
Thanks to Robots Live! for a fab weekend, the new format certainly seemed to work. Also a BIG thanks to all the young up and coming drivers, and the teams who let them drive their robots in the Tanja Memorial Fight. Well done to Alex driving Mini Mighty Mouse, and to Trevor whose robot he was driving.
Jenny and Geoff.
Wow, what a weekend, I think it's going to take me a month to recover!
Firstly, a really big thank you to all the roboteers that came and for entering into the spirit of things. It was really great to see the effort the teams put in to dressing up and decorating the robots and pits.
Congratulations to Shane and the Tilly Allstars on the win.
Next a very special thank you to all those who helped out during the event, whether that was running the raffle, checking tickets or helping with the arena. I'm not going to name names because I'd undoubtedly forget someone but you know who you are.
Finally the Robotslive crew, thanks for all your work over the weekend and the support and guidance over the last couple of months, I think it all paid off!
We certainly had some good crowds and a great response to the raffle which means we should have raised a decent amount for Macmillan. I will ofcourse post the amount as soon as I have done the sums!!
This event has certainly been an eye opener. Roboteers should be under no illusions the amount work that goes into organinsing and running an event. Without Robotslive and Roaming Robots we wouldn't have a sport, so please don't take these guys for granted.
So will the Tilly Allstars get a chance to defend their title? We'll have to wait and see.....
Based on feedback, I think the format in general worked quite well, although some of the games may need tweaking a bit!
Rob
Hi great week end enjoyed the 4 shows,
The Robots
Saint, no major problems at all, the feather axe got bent!! My driving was as bad as ever got flipped out of the arena more times than I would like to count and lost every fight.
Seraph, the speed controller failed at the first fight so that was that.
Pilgrim, normally there is no problems with this one but this week end the Anderson connector. One of the conductor pins came loose and had to find this annoying intermittent fault, also the brushes on the right hand motor got stuck so another intermittent fault had to be fixed.
Many thanks to Gilbert and Rob and all the Robots Live crew for their effort to put on such a great show a special thanks to Ed for help with the dead wotty.
Loved the format even though the games were not good for my type of robot,
Saints and Sinners
We came last in the competition we were winning up to the last fight, four robots against five and one time it was us one flipper turned ram bot, one very good flipper, a lifter and my joke of a robot, against 4 good flippers and Thor.
It was lambs to slaughter. :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:
Never mind there is always next time
Well done Tilly all Stars. Glad you beat that big bunch of pink puffs. :)
Rob....well i had a great event mate.....the format worked really well and brought together roboteers in a real nice way. Ed Hoppitt i thought was great on the mic entertaining the audience. Great job by robots live too. A big thanks to the mighty reds i think we did well and enjoyed ourselves. Should have put the ref bot oota.
I hope you raised a nice wedge for charity lads.
Well done to IA5 for taking the teambud trophy from ripper. Jonno was gutted. Still is i think. Can roboteers please get there challenges in for guildford on the teambud trophy thread. Gonna be hard to get it from IA5 i think.
Again a great event.....one of the best i have been to for a while.
I forgot well done Tilly all Stars a well deserved win :D
what an excellent weekend we had a great time, many thanks to rob, gilbert and robots live
for puting together 4 gr8 shows. The teams seamed quite even and was gr8 to all work together,
congrats to the all stars on your win but I am looking forward for the oppertunity for the mighty reds
to steal the title from you !
I hope we have made loads for charity and also that maybe norwich might be a future venue again,
unless they found a few holes in their floor ! lol
many thanks again.
ps I think the crowd liked us the mighty reds the best ! hehehe
Hi Terry
Strange you should mention the floor. I got called in today to inspect the damage.... one big gouge and about half a dozen other marks. I think this maybe expensive :(
Rob
crums what a downer, I only said it because there was so much to protect it,
never thought anything could get through 3 layers ? how ? where they all where
robots were landing ? or was it them flat wheels on their trolly when they removed
all the ply floor boards ? hope you can get away with it or its bloody cheap to sort out
let us know the outcome, hope its a good one.
thanks again for organising the event.
