For this weekend I will be fitting the Sidewinder (from Tron) speed controller, as the sabertooth failed! And is now back with Technobots. I am hoping Ian will soon have the Wotty 100 ready soon.
:D
will look forward to seeing it:)
sounding more asome by the second :P
can i have a drive at reading :?:
Pilgrim in the dark music by Julie Steventon
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bH5gmS6seTo
thats just sexual
It was the only video of Pilgrim I took, and the light was awful I thought some contemplative guitar based music would work quite well, and take everyone's mind off my bad filming :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh: : :D
So speaking as a father of eight kids I don't know what you€™re talking about :D
Pilgrim is in Ireland this weekend with Ian and Mike at the Toys 4 big boys event, I hope to have some pictures of Pilgrim at the event to post when they get back.
The speed controller (sabertooth) has not returned from Technobots yet, and the Sidewinder is running things for Pilgrim at the moment, I am hoping to fit a new Wotty 100 into it soon, this will free up the Sidewinder for other projects.
I will soon have an A1 size poster frame (Portrait style) to fit on to the robot so it can do some advertising work soon.
The thing oneday may even earn me some money.
Hi Walker lovers
Just to say that Arac will be at the Maidstone event (if all goes to plan) and will have his running shoes on.. :proud:
Cheers Froggy
Great news,
I will really be looking forward to seeing it again, I don't yet know if Pilgrim will be there or not at the moment, I have promised it to Alan from Robots live for that weekend but if he dose not want it then it will be at Maidstone and
THE RACE IS ON!!! :D :D
Talking of races how fast is Arac2?
In present trim The Pilgrim is doing a blistering
2.81112 Kph or 1.721811 mph

i could swear its faster than that. Maybe its an illusion of its size but it really seemed rather nippy at reading.
2.81112 kph is fast.............................................. ..for a walker!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently, they can be driven using a PS2 controller and there are even assembly guides on their site.

yes I've got one Craig, cost in total about £600 works nicely I've written my own code for it and it can be very complicated but its easy once you know how
Craig
You€™ve got everything!! :D Are you going to Maidstone, and if you are could you bring it so I can have a look? £600 is not cheap but was the price I was expecting as it has 18 servos in it plus all the other bits, it looks well made from the pictures, and I was thinking of one like that or Robonova or similar, what do you think?
Dont get a RoboNova, get a KHR-2 much better, much more fluid movement
I shan't be at Maidestone thats a hospital weekend for me but I will be at wigan if your about
2.07Am don€™t you ever sleep?
I have had a look at KHR-2 and it looks very good. I hope to be still in the contest for Wigan so I hope to be there, please could you bring your robot so I could see it, and what you think about it that would be great. Pilgrim should be there too so you can see my effort on the walking robot front. :uhoh:
I hope soon you will be in a position to put on some more events soon, you did a great job last year and your arena with the metal floor is something else, I would love to see how Seraphim goes against the spinner lot.
Hope the treatment goes well for next weekend we all will be thinking of you.
Craig
When I see u at wigan, I'll tell u what we've been doing with Rebel robots, we've gone a totally different direction but I do plan on doing a feather full combat event in May and I plan to put a tender in for the Featherweight UK Championships 2010
I'll bring my toys with me
Thanks Craig Hope to see you then. :D
Hi Walker fans..
For those that didnt make the Maidstone event...
The first public showing of ARAC went really well..
He was running up and down the front of the arena
in the intervals keeping the kids amused...Big Bad Johno would not
let me use the water cannons tho..
Hopefully Criag (Pilgrims Daddy) will have some footage of his antics
and will post here in time..
Cheers Froggy
Just as Froggy predicted :D

Big Bad Johno would not let me use the water cannons ...Silly String or similar would seem an appropriate alternative.
really enjoyed seeing ARAC at maidstone (btw froggy i was the guy who helped lift ARAC onto the trolly) wish we could see the water cannon in action  i like the idea of silly string
Email from Mike
Hi Craig,
Pilgrim wowed them again at the NEC, I took it over to Craig Charles (he was signing autographs along with other celebs) and he really liked it, he said the walkers that were on Robot Wars were rubbish!
I had intended to get a pic of him standing beside it but he left before I could, I did get a saucy lady to pose instead though!

Many thanks for that Mike
Craig

Hi Craig, Spoke to you before about that real thin mini checker plate you have on your walker.
Do you have an offcut of the stuff- about half a meter square? If not can i have the details of the place you got urse from please :) And how thick was it if you can remember? 1.5mm?
And is it aluminium or plated steel? I carnt remember
Thanks
Hi Dave
I have just been to my supplier and have got 4 large off cuts for £10. it should be twice what you need I, will be at Snibston on the 28th weather permitting will you be going to this event? :uhoh:
BTW it is 1.5mm aluminium
That was fast :) and Yep I'll try and pop along to pick it up, thanks craig :)
Snow problem!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sR4sR...layer_embedded
it looks really cute in the snow
I was thinking of trying for a speed record with Pilgrim but i don't know what it is at the moment!
There was a robot at robot games called scutter or something like that did 25meters in about 6.4 seconds. But i don't think it was a true walker dose anyone know what the speed and course is for the record at the moment? :uhoh: :uhoh: :uhoh:
So it finally got 'cold feet', did it
Nice job, Craig! Good to see some more walkers getting into it. :)
Here is the A1 size poster board for the Pilgrim the whole idea is for event organisers to use it (if they want) to promote their shows,
http://i569.photobucket.com/albums/s...h_IMGA5242.jpg
I'm not in good health at the moment so I don't know if I can get it going soon but it should not take too long just a few holes to drill.
http://s569.photobucket.com/albums/ss13 ... GA5242.jpg
Got the Board fitted and ready for any promotional work :D
