At the moment our Arena is too well sealed to vent the exhaust gasses fast enough to keep things safe inside so for now (unless the event was outdoors we may be able to make previsions) we will not be allowing IC engines at this event sorry. Just get a big motor n stick it in:proud:

The Competition format and local accomodation will be posted very shortly.
In order to fit many whiteboard fights in, the shows will need to run VERY smoothly, so I ask if you can all make sure your robots are ready for fights atleast 2 battles prior to entering the arena to ensure that shows dont over-run.
Most of the whiteboard fights will be held on the sunday as there are ALOT of fights to get through on the first day just to get through the first rounds.
Wow got in there last minute I see.
Will start working on fixing Trojan to make it a bit more resilient to spinners and make it glow like a Christmas Tree. I have noticed that most feathers win by being a flipper or very very bright :)
theres only ever 1 winner at robochallenge events
would love to come and watch this event and if i do i would be avaiable to drive a robot if needs be:) if anyone needed a driver
And that sure wont be beauty this year :proud:
not if Beautys performance at RebRobs is anything to go by
G3 and Tuff Luck in the WBs with Pug, thats OK, Im happy with that :)
guys. Rip evo is only for white board fights.
Thanks for letting me know jonno - Mr. Lawrie, I have recieved your name change from Canary Wharfare 2 to Japanese Fighting tortiose, although i do prefer the origional lol.
Liam, there will be far more robots entering the whiteboards through-out the event including some spinners - although if theres enough interest we will (for the first time ever) run a couple of whiteboards for non-spinners if enough people want to and the guys running spinners are ok with that.
just whack the spinners in lol
beautys were made for robochallenge and beauty 2 has been in every final at there events and only lost the 1 because of a gas leak ploughbot would have been dead if i had gas. Rebel Robots favours push bots 2 much and our little motors cant cope with being pushed out the area - please do a heavy event so we can get these spinners going craig :)
but theres 40 robots entering this competition so its going to be harder then ever for me to win
RebRobs doesnt favor pushers if u know how to score points with a flipper, also you just flip up if u flipped forward like Ziggo you would score higher and kick a lot more butt
look forward to seeing the draw of this one, unfortunatley a bit far for me.
it does cus push bots easily have the power to just bang into u and then they will get a point, i think each robot should have different sides where they should push to which will make the robots then have to aim n not just push where ever
isnt ziggo a spinner?
Ziggy rather
This event is hornets
Gary you still got the Sidewinder
yeah why?
Mr. Lawrie. lol.
well rip evo will only be doing non spinner white boards if there are any. Or can we play in between shows.? Im bringing it for a test as its going to singapore a few weeks later so dont want to scratch it with those round things. :-)
James/Grant - Missed a call on my mobile today and when I put the number into Google it came up as the Priory Castor number so Im guessing it was one of you. Was it just to sort out driver details for this comp?
If so, Kaizer Mk3 will be driven by my teammate (George Speirs) and Critical Damage is for whiteboards only, but it doesnt seem like its going to get the rebuild it needs beforehand (lack of time and money, as always!) so may well not be there.
Love the amount and quality of robots in the list - hopefully will be a kick-ass event.
Cmon spinners - lets take this one this time! :)
lol nearly got 360 confiscated by the police wouldnt of won much then lol
was testing it in a small empty car park- cops came in because they saw the sparks and noise from down the road- they saw the remains of a video player all across the car park.. started moaning then OOO IS THAT HYPNODISC... just said yeah to get him off my back, he started asking quetions about it, said it was cool shook my hand n walked off.
Moral of the story - copy a famous heavyweight and you wont get arested :)
Seriously?
Well that also proves the size factor really doesnt get across on TV!! :proud:
That sort of happened to me.., but it was driving Pussycat though. Driving it outside my house for a bit of practise, and hit a lamp post. but then about 2 mins after that a police car comes past and stops and realised what it was and his son loved PUssycat etc etc.. but said on a serious note, can you take it inside, your operating a heavy peace of machinery in a public area so meh lol.
Mr Stu
lol, thats brilliant! Im sure theres no law against robot wars, so they would probs have to get you on heavy machinary or noise pollution or something stupid. lol
I should have fired up the blade then see how fast he can take me to the station LOL!
Mr Stu
PS - (The Blade motor wire was disconnected before people freak!)
grant can you change flow for sabertooth please, cheers
Will do!
when are you doing the draw
Before we do the draw, we will post the full format of the competition. To do this we would like some feed-back from you guys.
Weve been looking into a few ways of doing the draw - we can do what we normally do and draw everyone out randomly out of a hat, or something I believe will make each heat more fair and similar which is to split the entries into weapon groups such as Spinners, Flipper, Pushers etc and then draw one from each of those weapon types into a heat.
That way, most heats will have 1 of each weapon type to fight.
Its upto you guys which we do, or if you have any other suggestions let us know.
2nd option! I dont wanna come up against another spinner first round again
2 groups would be fair!!
WEAPONS and BOXES
lol dad ur such an idiot
grant if your doing the heats way then mix weapon classes like you said
i regret saying that but o well lol
1st make sure seeds dont meet but then i dont think theres any spinners who will be seeeded but just seed them for this event lol
pick out of the the hat then it could mean that 3 flippers face each other and 2 flippers go out which is cool
lf3 vs wegdie vs Beauty 2

I think splitting them into weapon catagories to make sure there is one of each in each battle would favor flippers and spinners over pushbots. The whole point of a competition like this is you might be drawn up against anyone. If youve built a really good spinner, and have to fight another one, then so be it. If there are 3 pushbots in one fight, then so be that too. Thats the only fair way of doing it in my opinion. I admit the weapon class draw may make for a more interesting competition audience-wise, but thats not really the point at a UK championships is it. It should be totally random who we fight, then we cant moan about it. Just my 2 cents.
Since we plan to bring a spinner then we are a bit biased, but would prefer not to fight a spinner in the first round so option 2 for us :) Mainly because spinner v spinner are mostly 2 second fights.
Grant, I assume we are signed up!
each battle would favor flippers and spinners over pushbots
I wouldnt say so.
Dont get me wrong if you go for the beginner route of building a hardox box with a few drills then you are the under dog in any battle. If you make a proper rammer such as pain in the asp with a decent drive train etc then I would say that you should be equal odds to win any battle.
I agree with that wholeheartedly, and if built well enough, even a wooden box with drill motors has proved to be up to the job.
Anyway - you lot only want to separate the boxes from the weapons because you are scared of us :proud:
