Paul, theres a reason WHY youre refusing to write these fights and tournaments, and we NEED to know what it is. Youre now just being rediculous.
Right. If you dont explain why youre delaying this, Im pulling out. This is goddamned ridiculous...
Me too
:uhoh:
... oops, I meant...

Paul, one word sums you and this tourney up.
Fail.
No offense Paul, but is this a repeat of EOTR 3 and 4?
It certainly seems so, Samuel.
Unless theres some BIG turnaround of some sort that I cant see in the near future... :P
OK, to hell with this.
Paul, you have until next sunday. (well, about six days, twelve hours.)
By that time, unless theres a fight, a damn good reason there hasnt been any yet, or preferably both, Im pulling out.
Danny...you are aware those objectives are mutually incompatible? :proud:
I can see your point though - Paul, I understand that you may want to delay this to concentrate on school and other stuff, but ideally you should a) plan for this in advance or b) explain your reasons for not carrying on adequately.
Completely ignoring a topic yet posting frequently in others is not the way to handle this situation.
Stop pointing out flaws in my logic joey. :P
I did word that badly. What I meant was a reason this has been delayed so long.
Stupid editing time...
Guys, lets be there for him until hes ready.
Samuel why do you keep supporting him??
Why wouldnt Samuel support Paul?
The only thing you will accomplish by nagging to get on with this tournament is either a: paul typing up another hypothetical or b: simple unimaginative fights or c: no fights at all.
Let Paul get on with this when he is good and ready. Its not the first time a tournament has been dorment for months.
(Message edited by leorcc on September 08, 2008)
Leo, we need a reason why hes delaying it. Fights would be nice, BUT a reason why theyre not being written would be infinitely better.
But why would that make any difference? In the end you still have the same status quo whether Paul gives a reason or not. In the mean time these demands for reasons will end up with more aggravation this forum doesnt need.
So if someone has a grievance with Pauls working method, PM him.
If he gave a reason, Leo, we would better understand why he isnt posting fights, and thus no one would inquire further and you wouldnt have all this aggravation. :P
Plus, I have sent him PMs regarding the matter, and I dont think he knows how to send or receive them, judging by the last 5 I have sent. PMing is out of the question right now unless I get one from him. :P
I have nothing against Paul, but receiving absolutely no word is quite worrying.
(Message edited by kodster on September 08, 2008)
Well since Paul is back, I think wed all love a reason why this is delayed.
And since you dont respond to e-mails or PMs, Paul, this is the only way I can get my message across. :P
how fo you look at PMs?

+2>LET THE EYE OF THE ROBOT-SERIES 5 BEGIN!!!!

ROUND ONE:
Intriguer (1) vs. Leviathan vs. The Grudge
Gabriel III (17) vs. Supreme vs. The Deer
+1>From Toronto, Canada, seeded #1, INTRIGUER!!
-1>Entered by Kody Kunz
The mysteries of this robot are best kept hidden - especially since it€™s the champion! This robot is an ulta-low box 10cm in height, coloured green and cyan, with two spikes at the front that act as a super low scoop using the surface area rule, is a powerful force, using 4 wheels coated with urethane rubber, powered by 2 x LEM130€™s at 48V, providing a bit more power than the 36V ones, as this robot has 24hp in its power supply. The axe on this robot is Titanium, with a 5cm long solid Hardox axe-head, diamond edged, designed to pierce Titanium no issue, and dent Hardox easily using 2 x 2.5kg CO2 bottles, both at a pressure of 250psi. The armour on this robot is 5mm Hardox, very hard to cut or dent. The champion is a force to be reckoned with, but with a 4-9mm ground clearance, it€™ll have to reckon with powerful flippers€¦

In E.O.T.R 4: Used that axe to good work in Round One by hacking into Paralyzation, and with help from 21st seed Turbo Tails, was able to pit it. And then we were treated to the biggest shock in the series, as Intrigue faced off against 5th seed Black Panther Queen - they both exchanged axe blows, until Intrigue got its axe into the ABC armour of its opponent, it then powered the seed down the pit! 21st seed Turbo Tails proved a little tougher in the Heat Final, as it flipped Intrigue and attacked the base panel, but Intrigue stopped the spinning of the and then finally pitted the Scottish design! Big Nipper drove towards planning a victory against Intrigue in Round Four, but Kody€™s robot was able to bash Big Nipper€™s armour and push it down the pit, but in Round Five, we saw Intrigue€™s biggest surprise when 1st seed and reigning champion Kali had every reason to beat it, but Intrigue overcame it, grabbed on with the axe and confined the Champion to the pit! Following this, it took on twice Grand Finalist Storm 2, and beat it as well, via a pitting, before a bloody battle against newcomer Fire And Ice, a tracked rammer, who gave Intrigue a lot of hell, until Intrigue broke a track, leaving it immobilised, and making Intrigue the champion!
+1>From Bedford, Leviathan!!
-1>Entered by Danny Bailey
It comes from the deep, and has surfaced to cause pain for all. A low box shape, but with a arc-shaped rear to assist in self-righting, with a flipping scoop powered by 2 x 2.5KG CO2 canisters and double 80mm full pressure rams at 900psi, and should be able to flip around 1000kgs, and toss 300kg. The armour on the 45cm high box is a moderate 6mm Titanium for the body, but for the front scoop, it€™s a mighty 10mm Hardox, the ultimate armour for deflecting spinners, and the like. 4 x S28-150 24V Magmotors, 4.5hp per motor, giving 18hp in total, mean that this tracked machine can outpush a lot of machine due its its massive motor output onto seriously high-gripped tracks. Leviathan is a robot in the making, but its height means it could be easily OOTAed.

Crusing for a brusing to give its opponents, it€™s the Grudge - one of the scariest tracked robots around, armed with a massive €˜stinger€™ on top, powered by a 4€ bore, 12€™ stroke air cylinder at 200psi giving it about 2.2kj at end of swing, enough to cause serious harm. 18mhp is good for a tracked robot,, but if the tracks are hit, it€™ll be The Grudge after medical attention rather an revenge. That, and the 6mm Titanium is mediocre in vapourbot terms, so it may be torn to bits!

And E.O.T.R is off! It€™s a very quick and rampant start from the reigning champion, slamming off into the side of The Grudge, and the spikes on the front just slide under the clearance! Danny seems to be holding off slightly, but it€™s a wise idea, and Kody proves why Intriguer is the champion, activationg the axe! The 6mm Titanium looks like nothing, as the large heavy spike drives large holes into it! Ruark looked worried, but the judges tell Kody to back off, and now Rurak goes on the offensive, speeding down the ring, and attacking the front-right side of Intriguer€¦NO! An interception by Leviathan! And suddenly a spin by the robotic sandwiches - The Grudge between two forces, and VERY slowly the scoop of Leviathan slots underneath the clearance€¦AND THE RAM FIRES VERY QUICKLY!!! The Grudge goes spiralling up, doing 2 full twists in the air, as the audience woops Danny creation. Kody backs away, now allowing Leviathan to show its worth, attacking The Grudge from the rear, but Rurak fires the axe€¦NO! Danny€™s superior controlling skills allow him to dodge the axe€¦but now Intriguer is attacking again! Rurak is starting sweat€¦BANG! The axe punches through the top, and now the armour is beginning to crumbles here! The Grudge shifts a little€¦THE AXE FIRES! Nothing but a dint on the supremely thick 5mm Hardox shell protecting Intriguer, who is just pushing The Grudge back with near-to-no effort at all! The Grudge is slammed back hard into the spikes, cracking some of the low-mounted chassis bolts on The Grudge! Kody decides to deliver another axe-hit€¦BANG! Suddenly, The Grudge goes quiet - the final axe hit killing off the chance of The Grudge moving forward. The count begins, BUT IN COMES LEVIATHAN!
10€¦9€¦8€¦7€¦6 €¦5€¦
LEVIATHAN RAMS IN!! He bashes under and€¦FLIPS! A 360 FLIP AND OFF FLIES THE SHELL! The Grudge is OOTAed having been battered to the point of the shell breaking! Kody and Danny punch the air in delight, moving on to the next round!

The Grudge needs surgery more than a need for revenge!
INTRIGUER (1) AND LEVIATHAN GO THROUGH TO ROUND TWO!!!

+1>From Pontefract, seeded #17, Gabriel III!!
-1>Entered by Joey McConnel
Named after the €˜Angel Of Peace€™ in the bible, in the arena this robot is the €˜Angel Of Death€™! Gabriel is an elongated Triangular pyramid with a steep rear and shallow front end. Motors for this are 2 x LEM-130€™s run at 36V, driving two semi-pneumatic rear wheels with Vulkanised tyres for grip. The control is worth noting, as these two wheels are normally run as one with forwards/back movement, and a castor at the front is rotated via a custom high torque servo mechanism +/- about 75 degrees giving car type steering, however the robot can also be driven with the two rear wheels seperately in standard tank steering with the front castor being passive. This gives maximum controllability at both low speeds (16mph) and high speeds (30mph). It has 5mm Titanum body with 5mm Hardox edges, making the panels hard to tear off. The base is 5mm T6 Aluminium, and is quite resistant. It also has a very powerful front-hindged flipper and it is powered from 750psi CO2 stored in one 3kg tank, and a 80mm full pressure hydraulic ram with high flow rate giving about 20 uses in a fight. Also, the front point has spikes either side to cause damage by spinning, but these are now more blade-shaped than spike shaped, and made of hardened tool steel. Looks to be a contender, except in a pushing battle, where the shape will hinder it.

But despite pulling off several good moves on Kali in the Heat Final, Gabriel soon hit the camera tracks.

Aiming for Supreme glory, Supreme is fighting it out here! Powered by 2 x S28-400 MagMotors, running at 24V, this 6mm Titanium armoured axe-machine is one to watch, with power output of 8hp and top speed of 15mph means it€™s quick, powerful and tough. This robot has wedges/skirts on its front and sides, and to protect the back is a VERY unique weaponry system - at the rear is a large 1m diameter spinning ring, made from 4mm Hardox. 75% of the spinning ring is hidden by the armouring of the robot, but the remaining 25% has been left exposed in order to act as a type of defence for Supreme, especially as the axe is a uni-directional offense weapon. The spinning ring houses all the motors, electronics and batteries, and weighs just over 30kg. The disc has 4 large 1cm thick Hardox teeth, each being 3 inches in length and 4 inches wide. The spinning ring is powered by a LEM130 Lynch Motor running at 36v, geared down 4:1. The motor can spin the ring at a top speed of 1000rpm, giving off an output of 37kj, which is transferred to the Hardox axe with a pure 7kg Aluminium alloy head to pierce Hardox with ease! Supreme could be one to watch

Both The Deer and Supreme, the 15mph machines, move out slowly towards each other€¦but the 35mph Gabriel III is like lightning! Gabriel seems to be targeting The Deer, and it smashes straight in between the claws! The Deer rides up the pyramid shape, now on the powerful flipper, as Gabriel continues to speed forward dangerously, edging closer to the edge€¦FLIP! The Deer just hits the wall, with Gabriel failing the OOTA attempt, and Martyn quickly running away from Gabriel, but Supreme is on his way in, AND DANIEL DECIDES TO BRING DOWN THE AXE! It misses, and slams the floor hard, as The Deer turns left around and hits into the side of Supreme, then CLOSING the claws around the Titanium body, and powering forward - BANG AGAINST THE BLUE DISC! Sparks fly off the 8mm Titanium skin of Supreme, even if it is supremely tough, pun intended. Gabriel just seems to be watching, waiting almost for Supreme to respond to the hit, which eventually he does, then spinning to attack The Deer! Gabriel charges at The Deer€™s rear side, but for some reason, the pointed front isn€™t getting underneath, and The Deer continues the crush into that 8mm Titanium! Supreme is hammering away at the floor TRYING to escape - but he€™s unable to, as the team-up on Martyn fails - Supreme is pushed straight across the arena, towards the pit€¦BOOOM! Out goes Supreme!

Paul, no offense but i wouldnt call year 10 the big year, even by secondary school standards, year 11 is the key year. However there are people on this forum who are in much higher and more important academic years than you and still manage to be more active than you have been recently.

WOOOSH! Intriguer is straight out of the trap, smashing into The Deer like a car smashing a brick wall! Martyn doesn€™t even have time to respond by closing his claws, as Kody uses his spiked front to smash under the ground clearance, and bring the axe down, smacking the Hardox top of The Deer€¦and he€™s dented it! Already The Deer is in trouble! Martyn winces, and turns his robot to the right, trying to find a road to the centre of the zone€¦and he€™s made it - The Deer rushes for freedom, but Intriguer€™s 17mph compared to The Deer€™s 15mph is no contest - BANG! The Deer is pummelled again, this time from behind, and Intriguer has The Deer on the ropes, as Kody presses the power button, driving The Deer into the flywheels of fury! BANG! Intriguer slams the hammer, piercing the Hardox skin this time - and Martyn is now starting to fear the worst, and Intriguer slowly edges The Deer towards the blades€¦CRACK! Martyn looks up stunned, as part of his Titanium crushers is ripped clean off the claw. Kody€™s enjoying this, as he backs up, The Deer still in his clutches, and now powers forward again! CRACK! This time, the whole claw is snapped off! This is murder. Kody€™s axe finally shakes loose, but a miracle has happened - The Deer is still moving, despite the mashing it€™s been receiving! Martyn now changes tactics - he goes from defensive to offensive; and now powers at Intriguer with his 18hp of nudge - but once again, Intriguer comes out better, with his 24hp of nudge! The Deer is SLAMMED against the wall€¦SO HARD HE€™S NEARLY THROWN OOTA! Up against the wall, Intriguer slams his hammer again, and another dent appears. Kody is now continuously firing the axe, causing dent, after dent, after dent€¦ BUT HAS NOW CAUSED A HOLE! The power of the champ is evident here, and that repeated pummelling - has it killed The Deer€¦NO IT HASN€™T! The Deer€™s wheels are still rotating€¦but they aren€™t touching the floor, and that€™s what matters, as the countdown starts to signal to continous, destructive run of the champion Intriguer!
10€¦9€¦8€¦7€¦6 €¦5€¦4€¦3€¦2â ‚¬Â¦1€¦cease!!!
Intriguer hits the pit release button, and rushes back over to The Deer - BANG! Another hammer it, another hole in the Hardox top. Into the pit goes The Deer, and into Round Two goes Intriguer!

The champion blasts out into the arena centre, ready for blood, drives straight into€¦no - he drives PAST Leviathan! Danny turns his machine back around to face his opposition, but not as quickly as Kody manages a turn, and a ram€¦and a hammer blow! BANG! The 6mm thick Titanium doesn€™t like that hit too much - it€™s cracked! Danny winches as he thinks of the damage, and the time it€™ll take to repair after the fight, but he quickly snaps his head back into the game, as Intriguer comes in for another hit; the tracks snap into action, reversing, then making a sharp left-reverse - he€™s side-on FACING Intriguer. He doesn€™t need time to respond - a forward push, and he€™s under Intriguer! Leviathan has the Champion on the scoop, and is pushing forward, as the reign of Intriguer draws to a close as Danny fires the flipper, and that sends Intriguer flying 5ft into the air, spinning 360* and sending him out€¦NO! Intriguer€™s landed right-side up INSIDE the arena - remarkable when you considered the power behind that flip! Kody drives away before Danny can respond, and the 2mph advantage of the champion is useful, as its back in the centre of the ring, safe from the danger of flying over the fence. Leviathan comes in, but this time, Danny doesn€™t want to waste time, and SLAMS the front of Intriguer - the smaller surface area helps in getting under the scoop - and DOWN SLAMS THE AXE! The axe slams down through the Titanium - catching hold, gaining some grip. But the axe is stuck! Both Danny and Kody push their controls forward€¦and despite the fact the Leviathan has more traction on the arena floor; he€™s getting shoved back easily by Intriguer! BANG! Straight back into the arena flywheels, splitting the rear of the Titanium body in half, but still keeping the panel attached to the body. That was a good slam by Kody€™s champion, but it€™s shaken the challenger off the axe! Danny makes good response to this, slamming the champion against the flywheel - causing almost no harm except for a few scratches to the 5mm Hardox shell, but flipping Intriguer straight onto the scoop! Danny flips the scoop on Leviathan one more time - but the angle was all wrong and just sent the champion flying OVER the top of him! Intriguer€™s lying on his back, but the axe fires - SWOOOOOOSH! A beautiful looking self-right, flying up into the air, landing on his rear, and falling back down onto his base. Leviathan rams in quick response, but Intriguer spins off the scoop before he gets flipped. Both Danny and Kody are now getting a little worried as the battle draws into the last twenty seconds. Danny decides to make the next attack, and, charging in, he gets the champion where he wants him - right on the scoop. There€™s only one thing Danny wishes to do now - FLIP! Intriguer flies over, 360* and Leviathan attacks again, speeding in with the all traction and power he has - but he still can€™t quite get Intriguer close to the walls this time! Now its Kody€™s turn - ramming in, the spikes DON€™T get under the scoop, but he fires the axe JUST in time, piercing the top, and making the effect of Leviathan€™s flip less devastating. Intriguer€™s shaken off, as he reverses and charges in quick succession; and this time, he DOES break under the scoop this time€¦
10€¦9€¦
Intriguer pushes back, slamming the challenger against the wall: now begins the hammer of blows down onto Leviathan!
€¦8€¦7€¦
Damage is caused - for the first time significant damage has been caused - holes in the Titanium armour!
€¦6€¦5€¦
More holes! But Danny fires the scoop, blocking the axe and holding it up - like a guillotine of death!
€¦4€¦3€¦
Leviathan pushes back, as the champon reverses away from peril, but SLAMMING back under the scoop, and gaining more blows, and cracking a whole panel now!
€¦2€¦1€¦CEASE!!
The end of the fight! The newcomer gave the champion a run for his money, and surely the champion wasn€™t giving up the crown that easily. We go to our judges, who will judge the fight on Dominace, Aggression, Strategy, Control and Style. They will decide who goes on to the next round - the audience think Leviathan won it, but it€™s the judges who decide.
JD - The scores:
Dominance: Intriguer started weakly, but fought back a little - a LOT at the end of the fight, and did get in some great attacks in - but the dominance mainly lied with Leviathan.
Intriguer (1): 3 x 6 = 18
Leviathan: 8 x 6 = 48
Damage: Intriguer caused MUCH more damage here - pepperpotting a panel, and splitting the back-plate with the arena hazards - whilst Intriguer only took a few scratches, which means Intriguer cuased more damage.
Intriguer (1): 10 x 5 = 50
Leviathan: 2 x 5 = 10
Aggression: At the start, Intriguer showed uncontrolled aggression, but he retained it and did show a lot of aggression at the end. Leviathan started meekly and ended meekly, but was REALLY aggressive in the middle period, and nearly got the champion out twice! This means that Leviathan edges it.
Intriguer (1): 4 x 4 = 16
Leviathan: 6 x 4 = 24
Strategy: Intriguer€™s stragety was to stay in the centre of arena, and hammer Leviathan so something breaks - that was only HALF successful, as he got near the edges a lot - but Leviathan€™s plan to throw Intriguer out wasn€™t completely successful, but it was MORE successful than Intriguer€™s plan, as he nearly sucessed twice. Therefore, Leviathan has the more stragety.
Intriguer (1): 6 x 3 = 18
Leviathan: 8 x 3 = 24
Control: Intriguer€™s attacks were more controlled, and he made getter use of the arena than Leviathan, by using the flywheels on Leviathan. But Leviathan consistently got under Intriguer and was very close to getting him out twice, but failed. So control goes to Intriguer
Intriguer (1): 10 x 2 = 20
Leviathan: 5 x 2 = 10
Style: Leviathan€™s flipping was much more stylish than Intriguer€™s axe, but Intriguer€™s axe was more fun to watch. On this category, we€™re giving it to Intriguer.
Intriguer (1): 8 x 1 = 8
Leviathan: 4 x 1 = 4
Totals:
Intriguer (1): 130
Leviathan: 120
THAT€™S IT! The audience may be booing with the decision made by the judges, but they cast the verdict on the win - and the win in this fight goes to the champion: INTRIGUER!
Result:
Leviathan fought hard to rise to glory, but instead sunk like a turd!

Tactics for Gravity: Chezza, you want to team up? I could open the pit, and you can shove it in.
Right. Bumping this so I can make predictions. I did say theyd come. :proud: Oh, and if I posted predictions previously, disregard them. :proud:
Ramthrax 2 (3) vs. Lethal Execution vs. Hatchet: Evo
It really depends on what set-up Danny B uses, but seeing as hes not around, I cant really predict that. Ramthrax, who is pretty much the oldest Alex bot in the squad (moreso than Darkestar I think, lol), to definitely go through, though. :proud:
Gravity (19) vs. Dantomkia vs. Visioned
Cant see Visioned getting a good grip on Gravity. Possibly Dantomkia though. Visioneds pretty much the same upside-down so Chezza should be okay. Im gonna say Dantomkia to get a repeat of the Series 7 semi-final Round 1 done to him. Only in more time.
Lets get this thing continued, Paul. You were doing really good. :)
Thats unfair.... Tengu and slaying mantis are probably of a pretty similar age lol
